My scan was on Tues afternoon. Minor stresses, I emphasise MINOR yet I still got all upset, what a dafty. Me and OH don't do hospitals so weren't aware that our appt coincided with visiting time. Nearly an hour to get a parking space - y'build a hospital in a field miles from civilisation and don't provide adequate parking - what's that about?

So I had to run in while he continued to circle carparks. Luckily the guys at the ultrasound unit were brilliant and let me delay and I let the next woman through ahead of me. When I finally got in OH huffing and puffing, me all teary. Got started and it must have been about 20 or 30 mins of a bloke poking me baby with a stick and chasing it round my tummy to try and get it turned. No luck. It faced down ro to the back - refused to face the right way. Arms flailing - I swear I saw it flip the bird. I kind of react the same if someone tries to take my picture. OH was laughing saying it was me in miniture. Awkward.

Anyway the EDD calculated is utter nonsense, 12th Nov. No way. Impossible. I know this as OH had gastro enteritis and there was no hanky panky till after my LMP - this dates calcs back to before my last LMP. So I'm definitely adding NO INDUCTION to my birth plan.

Anyhow, told more people now no facebook announcement just yet. A few friends I want to tell direct still to go.

I've been very low since the scan, I have a massive pain in where I think my liver is, and bp is riding high. Can't eat due to sickness - a mix of ms and assoc with pain. Can't get through to mw as phone engaged for 2 days - 10 calls and no ansamach to leave a message - hurrumph.

Anyway essay is rambling...

is anyone else still feeling rubbish? I hear that week 13-14 we are meant to get our energy levels back and ms disappears. Please let it be so as I am 12+5.

Re blood test - my hospital says 2 weeks but do they tend to call you if you are high risk before then?

I am officially noticeably pregant.. think I will need to tell work soon..

Cookie9 I am 14 weeks tomorrow, still feel really sick most of the time but energy is right back up.

ik I am sorry about your NT results, it must be a very worrying time. As others have said though your baby still has a 19 in 20 chance of being fine. Fx for you I hope you don't have to wait too long for the results.

Welcome missyNorfork sorry you oh will miss your 13 wk scan, do you have someone else to go with you? At least he'll be able listen on your new Doppler!!

I am very of people who can feel the baby moving. I haven't felt anything yet, maybe in another week or so.

Putting names down for nurseries and schools already??? Really???? Is that neccessary??? I too am niave first timer, so am clueless with this. I too live in little village and want baby to go to a particular nursey so I suppose I should start thinking about checking the waiting list out, but schools?? Am I being thick but don't schools just do intake that year based on the catchment area? Or are we talking private schools??

Had a private scan yesterday. It was fabulous, little pup all wriggly and kicking. Thought I was 10+5 but gain 5 days so now 11+3. pamsco I too know that's impossible as I was charting in deatil so know when I ov'd. But I assume the baby has just grown quickly early on. I'm cautious too though of the dates being too far ahead. Ps, 12 nov is my bday!

Welcome MissyN Shall we call me MissyR now in short to avoid confusion? I'm due around 21/11 so we are about the same distance along! Great name by the way As for the doppler, let us know how you get on. I'm the sort that would love one but am waiting until the 12w scan to allow myself to buy anything. Where did you get it from and how much (if you don't mind me asking?)

I've got my 12w scan on Mon and have been counting the weeks constantly. It's now into days so that's good! My boobs have finally started growing. I'm small (a-b cup) anyway so this is a bonus/novelty for me.

I've got an awful headache today, are we allowed any pain relief tablets yet?

missyr I had a headache all yesterday. Paracetamol is ok. Or so it says in the nhs book the mw gave me.

Missyr paracetamol is fine. Although most of my headaches seem to be to do with a) stress related to work b) too little water, so coming home and drinking a pint of water helps dramatically.
Welcome to MissyN, good on happy scanees, and thinking of LK with hopes for good results on the CVS. Feeling more motivated today, although scared for what tomorrow's scan may bring. Pam hope you feel less down soon.

All, you are all being SO lovely its making me cry (in a good way, blame the hormones). I'm sore and feeling a bit sorry for myself and am REALLY bored at not being able to get out of bed. Worst of all is the waiting. Am on tenterhooks every time the phone rings ....if I havent heard by 4.30 am going to phone them but know that realistically it will be tomorrow ....

Hello everyone, newbie here

I am due 16/11/11 and 12+1 and this is my second baby. I have my dating and nuchal fold scan next Tuesday and am incredibly nervous! I don't have many symptoms so I dread the sonographer not finding a baby inside. Having said that, I'm sure I can feel my growing bump (underneath the bloating, flab and stretched skin from 1st pregnancy) and maybe a little fluttering sensation yesterday?

Hey MissyR, Sorry if my name caused confusion, it's difficult to know what to call yourself, but my nickname is missy so I thought I'd use it, but good thinking on the N and R!! :)

Am very jealous of your scan on monday, I have to wait a whole extra week!!! Sooo impatient. My boobs have grown, am bursting out of my c cup bras which is one hell of a novelty to me as am rather on the small side as only measure 32 round.

My stomach is growing but I do think a lot of it is food related!!! Am struggling with what to wear as the women at work don't know and my trousers although they fit are rather tight and I look like I've been eating too many pies which is always an obvious thing! I have a few dresses but have worn them this week so am a bit stuck! I don't mind people seeing my fatness/bump when I've told them as thats fine, but people are speculating already as I had a bit of a fainting spell at one point. So annoying! Just want my scan to know that everything is ok. Not going to take anyone with me, I deal with things better by myself, but feel bad that OH will miss it. :(

p.s. welcome eggy Mcegg, cool name by the way although it has set off a craving for scotch eggs!!!!

Collie my bean has measured 5 days ahead of where I should be for both scans now so they updated me. Very odd as I charted and know I had no early ov spike in temp (but actually thought we had missed the window that month so...)

No flutterings here. Can't wait though!

oooh sorry to keep posting, keep forgetting things.

The doppler I bought from ebay and was recommended by someone on another forum, and it was £38. Im not buying anything until after I've atleast had this scan or maybe even the 20 week one, But am so worried about my scan and having it a week later than i thought I thought I would try and but my mind at rest with being able to hear the heart beat. God forbid I can't find it, I'll be in a right mess!! I'm hoping it will come tomorrow. FX

goldmaple bed rest today, up tomorrow but nothing strenuous ....

There's nowt for dinner, so's I'd best go shopping. It's been drizzly all day here in Edinburgh, so I've only been out for 5 minutes to vote. I've been helping DD1 revise biological science (toxicology to be precise!), set myDS1 a past paper in computing, which I now have to mark, and been giving DD2 tips on the perfect discursive essay for her English exam tomorrow. I am well bored! A trip in the drizzle to Markies for a no effort meal seems quite inviting!

Scan on tuesday giving me 13+3 (13+5) today - so due date is now bonfire night - rememeber remember.

Had a fab hols but got carried away jogging and have pain in my pubic bone at the front - think i might have (as yet mild) SPD/PGP - from what ive read this is pelvic pain that happens when your ligaments soften (especially if you have some imbalance that might not have bothered you before) - going to see a chiro as want to nip it in the bud (so to speak) - anyone else had this?

knockedup thanks so much for thinking. I phoned the hospital at 4:50 and no results - they said tomorrow. So i thought 'right i'll have a shower'. Typical, 2 missed calls from a blocked number 3 mins apart, no message. AAAAAAAAAAGH!!!! Can only hope if it was them they phone back tonight or first thing. Sleeping tonight is going to be interesting .....

Scan went fine, heart still going, although they don't tell me how fast. Nuchal measurement a little high for my liking was 2.1 but still within limit for my dates. They did however put my dates back again although i disagree, she did say the scan is give or take 5 days. they've now put the date at 10/11/11 but i don't want to change it on list as i don't agree. grin So just have to wait for blood test results now, will call within 5-7 days if high risk. Ds kept saying baby in mummy, was so cute.

Ik how annoying and typical luck! I find taking a shower and then drying my hair always seems to make the delivery/call/visitor I'm waiting for appear too. I hope they call you soon.

ok ladies, crack out the non alcoholic fizzy stuff, our little girl is all clear for downs and trisomy 18 and 13 ....relieved isnt the word....there's also some symmetry in the world when mom dies Jan 1st, I get pregnant in Feb with a little girl ....almost like she made way ...

Welcome to the new missy (sorry am going to take a while to get used to the N and R thing, blame pg brain...

Nothing much new with me, just sure I can feel fluttery things but hey it could be nothing. Will be so bloody relieved when have had this scan! I just want a 'proper' due date and to know everything is ok of course. Am pretty sure on dates as 1st day of last was the 1st of the month (easy to remember) but so far 2 doctors and the mw have all said diff dates. However this week I have been knocked sick by all sorts of random stuff, havent really had much ms so I guess it is just my time to get my share!
