lk I am very sorry you have news like that. Try, if you can, to hold onto the fact that your baby has 19 chances in 20 of being perfectly normal.
Your DP was probably being a complete bloke and terrified inside but not sure what to say (if he's like mine). Glad your BF was there (did read it as boyfriend at first, and thought 'how bohemian' :) )
Sorry - not being flippant - all my thoughts are with you for the CVS.

jamama you're not being self-indulgent. We all have our own worries and fears which are important to us. Just keep on thinking positive thoughts.

Katiebeau · 04/05/2011 11:52

Hello IK. I'm am so sorry you are having to go through this. Have you posted on the antenatel support threads on here? There are a lot of lovely ladies who give wonderful support who really know what you feel like right now. Also they help with punch drunk husband issues who just don't know what to do.

I am really truely sad that your pregnancy is been marred by all this and just pray you are the 19/20 who are just fine. We had a horrible scare with DD at 20 week scan over a brain thing which terrified us but over time resolved to be nothing. I was physically sick with worry and stress at that time and really want to pass on some unMumsnetty big hugs and cups of milky hot chocolate to you.

We will all be thinking of you and sending as many positive vibes your way as we can. Good luck this afternoon. I hope it isn't too uncomfortable and the results come in quickly. xxxxx

lk I hope that the journey & CVS go well today, try to keep positive. Hope that the wait for the results aren't too long. Thinking of you x x

On a positive note, had my scan this morning. All looks well, baby measures perfect for dates (am 13+2 and baby is 77.3mm) so EDD is unchanged. Was so relieved that there is only one baby - sonographer did have a good search around so am happy that there isn't another hiding - both me & DP have twins in the family!!!

Baby behaved well, heartbeat was seen straight away :) Baby spent the time on screen waving arms around, legs crossed, had a good stretch and jumped in a manner that looked like hiccups!!! Have a really clear pic, will try and upload a copy later. Think I speant the whole time grinning like a cheshire cat, though smile still beaming now :o

Choose not to have nucheal testing so no results on that front!!

Hope other scans today have gone well x x

cep · 04/05/2011 12:46

lk i'm so sorry you're having this worry. fx for good results. have a safe journey.

bumpand yay for good scan.

well ds has been diagnosed with reduced hearing thanks to basically having glue ear constantly for the last year and half at least. may have to have grommets put in, the consultant at one point even mentioned hearing aids but he didn't go into that and i didn't want to query it. We have to wait and see the surgeon to see what he thinks, wonderful just what i needed, something else to worry about.

mashpot · 04/05/2011 12:48

lk thinking of you this afternoon too, sorry for the horrid time you're having.

I had my scan this morning too and all was well. Took her a little while to find the baby which was terrifying but then we heard the heart and all was well. I thought it looked just like it hiccups too, the way it jumped! My blood tests all looked fine - they give you the results at your appt which I was really pleased about.

Will have to make a few phone calls tonight as I've only told my mum and dad so far. Oh and I'm 12+3 with edd of 13/11/11!

chipmonkey · 04/05/2011 13:48

lk so sorry about the result but Fx that your baby is one of the 19.

cep ds1, ds2 and ds3 have all had grommets and their hearing is now fine, no hearing aids required!Smile The op is really easy, a morning in hospital and right as rain by the afternoon!

Well, my SIL has announced that she is pg too and due shortly after me!Grin It's her first so she's not showing yet. But nice that the bean will have a playmate.

TerrysNo2 · 04/05/2011 14:25

Ik good luck for today, as the others have said FX your little bean is numbers 1 -19!

Hils74 · 04/05/2011 16:26

Ik sorry to hear about in the results, fx for this afternoon.

I put my scan pic on fb last night and had some lovely comments from friends, many who had 'guessed' as I have been hibernating. StepSIL was the only one who put a downer on it by saying 'don't have two as they are double pains in the arse'!! I do wonder if some women should be allowed to have children :)

bumpsnowjustplump · 04/05/2011 16:41

afternoon all.. IK good luck for you test today, will be thinking of you.

I had my scan last week, everything looked ok but still waiting for results of bloods. Can be up to 2 weeks for results but MW did say if there was anything to worry about they normally call you with in 7 working days which will be friday. Also we say a nasal bone which she said is a very good sign.
i am 13+5 today and still feeling sick, I really hope it stops soon, having said that i do have more energy so all good there.

Work is very busy at the moment and am trying hard to keep up with my diploma work as well. Speaking of which I have my practical assesment tonight wish me luck....

cookie9 · 04/05/2011 18:01

Lk keeping my fingers crossed for you. Good luck.

pookypup · 04/05/2011 18:06

Ik so sorry to read about your results and what you are going through. Hoping you have positive news tomorrow and that today was ok. X

Had my scan today and all seemed well. They put my due date at 10/11/11 - 12wk6 with baby measuring 6.5mm. mash and bumpand good to hear your scans went well too - it's amazing seeing such a wriggly baby inside (its my first). Can't believe I dont feel it more, though I'm sure I can feel something occasionally.

Good luck to all those scanning tomorrow x

bumpandisaacsmum · 04/05/2011 18:14

Congrats mash & pooky for your good scan news :)

I've managed to put my scan pic onto my profile though not sure how I can do a link (sorry new to this!!) But am sure if you click name should take you there!!

goldmaple · 04/05/2011 18:20

lk So sorry you are having to go through all this worry. FX that baby is one of the 19!

bumps good luck on your practical assessment!

pookypup glad to here your scan went well! It feels so unreal, doesn't it (my first too)! I haven't felt anything yet but in less than a month I should...:)

Think DH and I will have to start looking around at schools to put baby's name down on... feels slightly early but its important to me and don't want to mess up

voodoomunkee · 04/05/2011 18:37

Hi everyone.

lk sorry to hear you are going through this worry, fx for good news and an end to the worry and distress.

Good luck to all those due scans and congrats to those scannee's who have had theirs this week!

Finally rang the hospital and mine is on Tuesday the 10th when I will be around 14+1 weeks.... Also arranged to change hospitals at the 16 week mw appointment.

Hope the ms is clearing for people!

cep · 04/05/2011 19:43

voodoo is that for a nuchal scan? they told me they wouldn't check after 14wks, do they know you'll be 14+1?

Truffkin · 04/05/2011 20:07

LK really sorry to hear you're having a hard time but glad you feel supported by your friend. I also read it as boyfriend first off Blush Hope things are clearer for you soon.

Thanks for the strep b info MrsA and I've no idea about why they test now. The MW said they take urine samples at every appointment and do lots of tests each time so I'll be tracked throughout. My main concern was reading that presence in urine means a potential infection, whereas the swab IDs you as a carrier to minimise risk for the baby.

Lovely to hear of all the scams and can't wait for ours now, only 3 more days to wait!

lktoday5 · 04/05/2011 20:13

Hi all, thanks so much for all the wishes. Just on train back and although was horrid it went as well as could be expected. Now the wait for results, lots of rest and dp to step up with that treatage! Meanwhile, I'm going to eat what I bloody well want for 24 hours! Thanks again ladies and huuuge congrats to all today's scanees. Will keep you updated ....

Ps mrsarch your post made me laugh out loud. V needed amongst the tension!!

knockedupagain · 04/05/2011 20:16

lK Sorry to hear that your odds got worse, and FX that you get good results tomorrow, and can put it all behind you.

Well done to all the good scanees.

MissyNorfolk · 04/05/2011 20:43

Hi my lovelies

Can I join too, I'm due 20 Nov. Have just read this thread from start to finish.

I'm so sorry some of you are having such a rough time of it at the moment, hugs to you.

I finally got my scan date through today and it isn't until a week on monday!!Where I will be 13+1. Am so very impatient!! OH works away and has only just gone so he will miss my 12 week scan, well 13 week scan, which is pretty pants!!!!

I had to have an early scan at 6+4 due to severe stomach pains and all was fine, but just can't help worrying about the 12 week one.

MS has pretty much gone, am constantly tired though and have constant random dreams, I had a dream I was a nun last night, how ironic is that!

Am so hormonal though, feel like I could either smack someone in the face or burst into tears but I'm never quite sure which one I'm going to be!

Have just invested in a doppler from ebay, I'm hoping it will be here by the weekend, and am hoping even more that I will be able to hear a little heart beat, so FX.

Sorry that I've rambled on so much

Missy

Poppet45 · 04/05/2011 21:27

Welcome Missy Norfolk!! Impressed with your tenacity in reading this whole thread. Glad to hear of all the happy scans, Ik I'm sorry you've had more stress to deal with, I hope the best possible results come in tomorrow. It's our scan tomorrow, got the whole there's no baby in there anymore fear going round in my brain (well apart from when I remind myself how knackered I am), but at least its at 8.40am so not much time to wait and worry. No naughty dreams here, in fact my libido is officially deceased, I was just the same with DS and also during early BFing. TBH if DH didn't want to go near me for the rest of the pregnancy that would be genuinely just great! Poor man :(
I'm also not doing the glowing thing at all! My skin is getting better, everywhere but my chest of all places - I think its the hormonal chaos caused by my being pregnant but still Bfing DS. Looks blardy awful. However my lovely sis has booked us a spa trip on Sunday so I get to hand DS to DH and destress. Can't wait!!! The last time I went for a treatment it was some refleology to bring on labour. And it worked, my waters broke that night Grin
Cep and other scanees good luck for tomorow, and good luck Ik!

pookypup · 04/05/2011 22:18

Thank you for congrats girls :) goldmaple it's great! For some weird reason i've only just realised that there's a tiny person in my tummy :)

Welcome missynorfolk let us know how you get on with the doppler!

Staceroo · 04/05/2011 22:43

Hi MissyNorfolk! Welcome!

LK, FX for you!

DH posted our scan pic on facebook tonight, and my phone has not stopped! It's amazing all the peopl eI don't speak to regularly all take the effort to say congrats!

I've had to break it to my team at work that I have to pull out of the 3 peaks challenge were meant to do in September! So need to find something new to do as a sponsored event which will be a challenge to a 7 month pg woman, so I can still raise money from my friends and family to put in the pot! Any ideas???!!

Forgot to say yday, I finally got my pregnancy book! So some light reading, once i've finished Jane Eyre!

Well, off to bed... up early to do work before I go to work! :-(

Night night xx

PoppysMom · 05/05/2011 05:43

IK really sorry that your odds went worse. I hope the later test had better news.

I had my 11 week scan yesterday and baby was dancing away and even had some hiccups. It then went to sleep and couldn't be motivated to move again. HB was 188!
Seeing it all well and happy was great. I was so worried.

Seeing LO again on Tuesday for NT scan

Congrats to all the other mummies with good scans and good luck for the upcoming scanees

MissyNorfolk · 05/05/2011 06:51

Thanks for the lovely welcome. LK FX for some better news today.

Good luck with scans today.

I actually managed to get some proper sleep last night but have still woken up knackered! Why is that. Keep prodding my stomach in the hope I can feel something, but apart from the bottom bit being a bit hard, nothing yet. ho hum, this baby making takes a long time doesn't it?!

PoppysMom · 05/05/2011 07:18

Missy I am just as impatient. Doctor said that I may show very late :(
