voodoo when is your DD's birthday? My DS is 3 on the 10th November this year. DH is already talking about birthday party economies of scale Grin

Staceroo · 26/04/2011 21:26

Hooray Poppet Glad you got out of that one! Thankfully I have no weddiong whilst I'm PG, but two within 6 - 9 months of having baby, so will probs still be bf, so hoping they are going to be baby friendly weddings! Esp as I'm bridesmaids at one! Desperate to tell my friend, so I can make sure it's OK, but waiting untill 12 weeks scan! (Next week!). Though neither wedding will be as posh as the one you were talking about, both likley to be 'flip-flop' style chill out weddings!

IK glad you're feeling a little better about everything! You shouldn't feel any guilt though about not working out as usual, baby will be sapping all your energy as the body works so hard to look after baby (and not you!), so I would just embrace the change in lifestyle and mong out on the sofa while dp is away and you can get away with it! Just keep in mind you're doing what you need to to look after baby!

Well done on both of you having scans today! And goodluck for the couple coming up tomorrow!

We're due 12th November, so kind of hoping for 11th! Although 17th is FIL birthday, so that would be quite nice, although not wishing for an extra weeks wait! Just expecting to be late, as most first time baabies I know were late!

Actually just sat and ate half an easter egg, whcih is the first chocolate i've eaten since being pg, couldn't face the stuff...but suddenly the love is back!

Right off to try and get some olympic tickets now! Not sure what to go for!

Bluetinkerbell · 26/04/2011 21:34

I've got 2 weddings to go to while pregnant, one of DH's aunt and one of my sister. Have already been asked what I was planning to wear. Said I will have to go shopping for something decent reasonably close to the weddings as I won't have a clue how bumpy I will be.
At least now I could tell DH's aunt why I was so fussy about menu choices Wink she had guessed already but was very kind not to say anything until it was 'official'.
Problem was that the veggie option was with Brie, which I can't have, so asked for the roast without the meat Wink DH is looking forward to both the weddings as he can get drunk, while I'll be driving us back.

Truffkin · 26/04/2011 23:06

LK so sorry you are feeling lonely and I hope chatting here with your cyber buddies can help! I'm 100 miles from my family (and DH's) and that feels far so I can't imagine how isolated you are ((hugs))

We've got 3 weddings whilst I'm pregnant and have already been to one when I was 6 weeks. We have another one just 3 weeks after our baby is due - eek! We seem to have a lot most years at the moment, DH has a lot of cousins!! The last wedding during my pregnancy is 4 weeks before our due date and I'm a bridesmaid!!! The couple in question are coming to visit this weekend and we're going to tell them (they will guess if I'm not drinking) and I have a feeling I may be relieved of my duties......

voodoomunkee · 27/04/2011 06:41

Terrys My dd is 10th Nov too except she will be 11! So no need for us to do the mass party for the whole year group but now a select few that seem to expect a sleepover, a meal and the cinema! Depending on arrival of baby it may be none of those lol. Do you only have one atm?

congrats to those that have already had their scans! cue warm gooey feelings :)

alicat10 · 27/04/2011 07:26

Just a quick check in.

Welcome new folk and great scan news :)

Have my Oscar at lunchtime today and I'm a bundle of nerves (and already emotionally exhausted after funeral yesterday). Won't be online with news til this eve ...

PoppysMom · 27/04/2011 07:46

Good luck alicat. Thinking of you

Folicacid · 27/04/2011 08:01

just a quick run on to say good luck with all the scans today, I think I remember there was loads! I'm off to stay with family for a few days, so no doubt there will be another thread by time I get back, chatterboxes Grin

Norfolkbumpkin · 27/04/2011 08:18

Good morning all and good luck to fellow scanners who are booked in for today. May our jitters turn into jumps for joy! Dh is taking the afternoon off work and my sister is looking after dd for us, so it will be good for us to have a bit of time to ourselves to absorb the information. FX and see you later......

knockedupagain · 27/04/2011 08:19

Welcome to all the newbies! Congrats to all those who've just had great scans, and good luck to all those gazillions having their scans today! Mine is tomorrow at 1.30pm, and I'll post after to let you know how I get on. Feeling very nervous about it. This is SO my very last chance!

Katiebeau · 27/04/2011 08:45

Good luck to all scanners today! Good luck tomorrow knocked. FX and toes too for everyone.

Have my scan in an hour, it's going to feel like ages- either that or I'll get lost end up being late....

MooseyMoo · 27/04/2011 10:26

Caz So so pleased to hear you had a lovely scan.

Well, just got back from my scan and it was amazing. Couple of waves and after encouragement (me whacking my butt on the table a few times) managed to move baby so sonographer could get measurments. Cue lots of rolling, and little jumps. Can't believe how much bean has grown since I saw it at 6 weeks.

Measures 60mm, about 12 weeks, 3 days so my DD is now 6 Nov. I'll update stats in a bit.

Fingers crossed for all other scanees today.

MooseyMoo · 27/04/2011 10:28

Forgot to say had really weird dream last night which involved all pregnant women being hooked up to the national grid so we could power a few thousand houses with our wind. [chmm]

probably on my mind as I can't believe how windy I am this time round. [cblush]

Missyraines · 27/04/2011 11:05

I've added my stats if that's OK. I'm due 21/11/11 with baby one and have my 12 week scan Mon 9th. How exciting!

Hils74 · 27/04/2011 11:25

Yeay well done moosey good scan news! Were you nervous or excited?

Welcome missy

Caliphora · 27/04/2011 12:57

Yay! Scan over! After a gruelling 3 hours in the clinic, tears from the receptionist being rude (quelle surprise), a sleepy baby who had to be pushed and prodded, Sprout wriggled like mad, waved and sucked his thumb for us!
DP sat wide mouthed and saw everything - I got to see stuff twice and got fed up with being stabbed with the scanner! But it was all worth it - I'm 13+2 and due on Halloween - can I still stay here?

Holding thumbs for all the other scans out there today!

Truffkin · 27/04/2011 14:01

Great scan news so far, really pleased for all of you ladies. Caliph I can't believe the receptionist made you cry Shock

Caliphora · 27/04/2011 14:19

The Receptionist was in a mood and shouting at the MWs - but I am/was overly emotional as we've been so scared that it would all be horribly wrong at this scan. She didn't tell me what would happen, just tapped the computer and said I wasn't on the system, and then told me to take a seat. When I then got back up and asked her if I needed to be anywhere else or do anything she barked at me to wait my turn, which made me cry.
Also, I'm still comparing English and Swedish healthcare systems, which isn't fair, and to "not be in the system" in Swedish is equal to saying the hospital/doctor's never heard of you, ever. So I got worried that all my records had been erased, which obviously wasn't the case!

Got my pregnancy book though - yay!

cep · 27/04/2011 14:37

so glad for all the good scans so far, and fx for those still to come over the next couple of days.

cookie9 · 27/04/2011 15:45

Congrats to everyone who has had their scans. Waiting until Tuesday for mine. Feeling low today as have had cramps since yesterday - doctor thinks all ok and it is just my muscles streching. She showed me how much they have to strech - eek!!

I have a wedding when I'll be 7 months and possible a second one around that time in America but dont think I'll feel like flying then. I have a nice empire line dress which I might be able to wear depending on how big the bump is my then. At present wondering when I should be remeasured for a new bra as some of mine already are a bit full so giving me the double boob effect!

voodoomunkee · 27/04/2011 15:51

Cali great to hear about your scan (minus the receptionist and nerves!). fx for those who have theirs today and in the next couple days! Been for booking in appt, had bloods taken (urgh) and been told to expect scan in next week or so! Mw thinks due 8th Nov but obvs expecting it to change when have dating scan, so officially (as it can be) 12+2 today :)

SnoozleDoozle · 27/04/2011 16:05

I haven't been on here for a few days and have just spent about an hour reading all the posts and catching up!

I had my mw booking in appt on Friday and I feel so much more reassured now, the mw was lovely and she took ages going through my medical history and previous birth. I came out of the appt feeling like a different person. As I had posted on here a couple of weeks ago, I had really wanted the choice of a different hospital, but in reality thats not an option - there are only 2 maternity hospitals within the health trust area that I live in, and they won't refer you outside the trust. The other one is not within travelling distance, so that's that. But, I was chatting to a neighbour who is a mw in the hospital, and also to friends who have had babies there more recently, and apparently the care in the hospital is much improved on what it was 5 years ago, so hopefully I was panicking when I didn't really need to. Although, I must admit to still being nervous, but I can't ruin the rest of my pg worrying about it.

oh, and when they did a wee scan, they were estimating my due date to be just over a week later than what I think. Funny thing is that the same thing happened in my first pg, but in that case my due date went back by 3 weeks, I was devastated, because I went to my scan that time thinking 1st trimester was over, only to be told that I wasn't even 10 weeks yet! Strange thing is that my cycle is regular enough, so its weird that both times, my due dates have not tied in to my cycle.....

Anyway, sorry for going on for so long, I just had a lot to get off my chest!

chipmonkey · 27/04/2011 16:31

Hi folks, great to hear about all the good scans. Keep Fx for me tomorrow, have my Nuchal Translucency scan. Am getting very nervous.

cep · 27/04/2011 16:39

chip keeping fx for you hon. am sure everything will be ok.

getting very [cenvy] that so many are having theirs now, and i have to wait till next week. wish mw had just put me straight in for scan rather than waiting to see if everything was ok first.
