Hello, I would very much like to join your gang if I may! I have been lurking for a while, but have been too nervous to dive in as had mc a year ago at 11 weeks which makes me a tad reserved about getting excited. I am now 11+1 and starting to relax a bit. I felt compelled to join in now after reading Bluetinkerbell's comment on feeling possible movement. I have been feeling strange popping/fluttering over the past couple of days, but have been unsure as to whether it really is little bean. If it is it has definitely made me more confident that things are o.k. It may be wind of course!!

A big wave from me then and I shall now pop off to add my stats to the other thread. Byee!

Bluetinkerbell · 21/04/2011 12:44

yay yay! just got back! everything is fine with our little wriggler! measuring exactly 12 weeks, so EDD still 3rd November!
they couldn't get it in the position to do the measurements for the nuchal fold, but we told the midwive not to bother, as we didn't want to know and said we just needed to know everything was still ok, and she said that's fine, she thought that was the case as we had changed our mind so short notice Wink

Terry glad your little Poppy is fine! Slightly bigger than mine, ours is 48.5mm
and lucky you, you got 2 pics! :)

Norfolk yeah I also have been having strange fluttering feelings, and our little one was very wriggly during the scan so I definitely think I can feel it!

LilPud · 21/04/2011 13:33

Hi

Hello All
I'm new too and would like to join the group. I reach the magical 12 wks tomorrow and scan on 26th. Have been living on the edge of panic for the past 8 weeks and can't wait now to see everything is ok. So far - pain in my side (growing pains), mild cramps on and off (more growing pains) and yesterday there was blood! Womb cleaning itself apparently. MW going to be sick of me by November :)

This is my second but after 22 years it feels like a first.

Bluetinkerbell · 21/04/2011 13:41

LilPud welcome! and if it can be of any reassurance, I've been having spotting (brown, pink and red blood) for the last 3 weeks, and all is fine with little one! try not to worry!

MooseyMoo · 21/04/2011 14:02

Welcome Norfolk and LilPud (dusts down thread and whips a hoover round - more than what I've done at home!!)

Terry Lovely scan photo Grin Congrats

Blue Congrats to you too Grin

I'm dreading/can't wait for my Nuchal scan (on Wed). Trying not to think about it too much. Hopefully the weather will hold for the weekend and will be able to enjoy the long weekend with DD and DH.

Norfolkbumpkin · 21/04/2011 14:09

I have my scan on 27th at exactly 12 weeks and am really looking forward to it. What I am not looking forward to is the combined blood tests straight afterwards. I had my first lot of tests done by the phlebo team at the hospital, as I am not great with these things and prefer to have the super-efficient nurses there do it. I stupidly handed over my form for the 12 week combined tests aswell, so they took more blood than they needed to. I am now having them done all over again next week, and have made a mental note to read the paperwork properly in future! Wow LilPud, that's an impressive age gap! Are you gobsmacked at the cost of baby stuff now compared to way back when?

Norfolkbumpkin · 21/04/2011 14:11

Three more hours at work then a long weekend.....woohoo! I am longing to get home and put my slacks on. My too-tight work trousers are finding it really hard going trying to hid the growing tum Blush

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 21/04/2011 14:19

Dirge that is awful!!!

We're paying for our nuchal scan but that's only cos I'm registered at Wrexham hospital, not Chester and North Wales hospitals don't offer nuchal yet. Having said that, nor did Chester when I had DD there in 2008. But to send you to a private clinic without telling you it was private...... Shock

Terrys well done and huge congrats (and congrats to all the other good scan news. It's so nerve wracking isn;t it!

I'm still not telling anyone just yet as I'm only 9/10 weeks. Not sure why though - what are the reasons for waiting till 12 weeks to tell people? Are there still risks of mc despite seeing a heartbeat?

And finally, before I crack on with work, I am a bit worried about my nuchal scan date. I had it booked for when I would be 12+3, but that was assuming I am 10w now. The scan yesterday dated me 9 weeks, so I phoned and pushed it back a week so it's still at 12+3.
But ben thinking and I'm worried now as I know for certain when I ovulated (perhaps within 1 or 2 days leeway) and so when I conceived as I charted my temps/checked cervical fluids etc ( Terrys knows what I'm talking about Grin), and it could just be bean growing a bit slowly. Is the nuchal scan still OK at 13+3? The website says up to 13+6 - am I cutting it fine?
13+3 is the absolute max I would be.

Sorry for the waffle but you know what worry feels like! Any thoughts would be really appreciated.

Katiebeau · 21/04/2011 16:47

MrsArch 13 + 3 is just fine. Especially as it can't be later.

Welcome all newcomers. Great scan photo Terry although our Bobblehat looked exactly the same!!!!!

LittleMissExcited24 · 21/04/2011 17:26

Afternoon all, lovely news on the scans apart from Dirge's total rip off. Really hope you get that sorted.

I have a question, not sure if I'm being sneaky but I've been referred to a hospital in London which has a really good reputation. I'm moving in mid June and although my new address is actually closer to this hospital, for some reason I'm not in the catchment area. I think the hospital I'll get referred to in the new area won't be as good so do I stay registered with my old doctor and get my post redirected so I can stay at the 'good' hospital? Can anyone foresee any problems with that? I guess I'll have to let them know my new address eventually so the midwife can come round after.

Poppet45 · 21/04/2011 17:33

Lovely, lovely scan news! Apart from the £170 bill obviously. And welcome newbies - I'm another one with weeks of pink/brown/beige/orange blood but touch wood there is still a bean in here so hope all is well for you too! And yup I too am of the (delusion??) mind that I can feel the wee one. I've had a few pops and flutters which I know are what the early kicks will feel like in a few weeks time. But I'm only 10 weeks so the bean is minute, however even with an anterior placenta I was sure I could feel DS at 14 weeks or so, and now my abs are shot who knows? Grin. For newbies the best way I can describe a kick is how your tummy feels going over a humpbacked bridge, or like someone blowing bubbles in thick milkshake. Mind I had an anterior placenta last time so I never eperienced just how strong they are with a normal placenta!
Booking in appointment finally tomorrow, and scan on Thursday. Finally starting to feel real. Have told friends who I'd talk to anyway if the worst happened but right now it really hasn't felt real. I think with DS I just don't have the time to concentrate on feeling pregnant this time round. I hope the new bean will forgive me!!

chipmonkey · 21/04/2011 17:33

Terry's GREAT scan pic!
Welcome to the newbies!

SnoozleDoozle · 21/04/2011 17:37

hi everyone, I've been lurking for a few days, but haven't had anything worth saying! Anyway, got my letter in today with my midwife appt, its tomorrow afternoon, so a bit short notice! Then I have my appt with the consultant on 5th May, and I think thats when they do the scan too. Although I'm nearly 13 weeks now, so I'll be nearly 15 by then, so not exactly a 12 week scan. They don't do nuchal test thing here anyway, as far as I know, so it hardly matters.

Glad to hear other scans are underway and going well!

Katiebeau · 21/04/2011 17:40

Firstly I cannot believe there are still NHS trusts not offering a free NT scan when it is shown to be some much more accurate than bloods alone. And to give you private hospital numbers without clearly writing down "You will be charged for this testing" is disgusting. Angry

MrsArch I think I posted some stats on this to you a while ago and I am so sorry it has led to such a lot of hassle for you. If this was too you I am truely sorry.

That said I am a Chester girl so perhaps you'll forgive me although I am old and Blimpers and High Society were my teenage pissholes hangouts!!

Smile Hope everyone has a good weekend.

busyboysmum · 21/04/2011 20:05

Hi everyone

Wow we are all cracking on aren't we?

I had my booking in appointment with a lovely midwife today who finally gave me my scan date which is 3rd May so looking forward to that.

I've also been feeling flutterings in my tummy at night time and feel like it is my little bean bouncing around - might be completely deluded of course!

Feeling really hormonal and sick and rubbish today for some reason, am so glad we can have a lie-in tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a lovely Easter weekend.

Smile
WuzzAndBuddy · 21/04/2011 20:42

Evening all!

What a looong day at work...

My mum called last night to see what I'm doing this weekend... she's now on her way down to mine! Her and my sister [bugrin]

Dirge I can't believe they charged you! When it was quite clearly a mistake. Really hope you can get some money back... thats so unfair of them all, not your fault at all.

DS and I just nipped to the corner shop to get some milk, some drunk fella started talking to DS, was at the till as we got there, said 'ooh this lovely lady can go first cos she's ginger aswell!' (I'm more auburn/brown....) then bought DS and I a big bar of mint aero... I always seem to attract the crazies...
Free bar of chocolate though... [buwink]

CazandBelle · 21/04/2011 20:43

Ah Terry great scan picture. So clear and what a beautiful little face! I've started following your blog now.

Cannot wait to see out little Bow again!

In a complete turn around I've had a right sicky day. If I'm not eating every hour (on the dot it seems) I start feeling/being sick. This is so different to Belle's pregnancy! Last time I managed to lose a stone, I wouldn't be surprised if this time I've put on a stone already! I will definitely be whale like in no time at this rate. Not that I mind - I really don't care how much I put on as long as we get to the other side with a take home baby.

Another one being hormonal here today and have been weepy a lot, but I know a lot of that is because of the date. Belle is/should be 10 months old today.

Well in an attempt to get out of the house to cool down (I'm dying here with this heat!! anyone else with me on this!? and its only April! ) we're off to the pub with my brother and SIL who are home overnight (they live in Plymouth, using Mum and Dads as a pitstop on the way to a wedding!)

chipmonkey · 21/04/2011 21:51

I have air-con in my consulting room in work and every time I walk out to the main shop, it's like walking into an oven!

I feel so, so tired. I am wondering if I'm anaemic but can't face any extra iron. I'm constipated enough!

goldmaple · 22/04/2011 03:44

caz sounds like we are at the same stage. I need to eat every hour too or I get sick... but I'm never that hungry. But yeah, I will probably be the size of a whale by the end

wuzz yay for the free chocolate[bugrin]

dirge can't believe they charged you that much!! When it was a mistake too! Hope it can be sorted out.

welcome lilpud and norfolkbumpkin

Can definitely not feel the baby or any flutterings. NUchal scan on the 3rd so very excited for that.
Have a happy Easter Everyone!![busmile]

bumpandisaacsmum · 22/04/2011 07:55

Morning everyone

After a few days of no nausea/sickness & managing to actually sleep at night, I was optimistic that at 11+5 early pg symptoms were easing :)

Until yesterday then ms back worse & I managed 2 hours sleep last night (one early on & one just as sun coming up!!) :(

Not a happy bunny esp as traveling today to go away for weekend!!

Hope everyone has a good day x x

cep · 22/04/2011 07:57
