OK, well we've needed a new thread for ages so I've taken it upon myself to start it.

Good luck ladies - we are nearly down to the last month

35 + 2 or should I say "T minus 4wks 5 days"!

sweetheart · 21/11/2005 14:52

Afternoon all - not much happening here. Did housework this morning before popping into see SIL and new baby for tea (how civilised [grin)

I'm now about to do school run and hospital visit and then I can put my feet up for the day.

I've had a few more pains but I def don't think it's the start of anything. I think the mw will say that the baby has moved down into my pelvis when I go tomorrow and I expect thats all the pain is.

George - having the opposite trouble to you here - I never seem to be hungry. I had to force myself to eat something at lunch time. I've lost weight since finishing work - it must have been sitting at my desk bored that was making me hungry.

Scully - YEAH!!! Last week. It will fly past hun - I hope your looking forward to joining us ladies of leisure It's so FAB!!!!
And don't worry - I'm sure dh will find a job soon!

Nemo1977 · 21/11/2005 15:47

hello again

ei the card making is quite theraputic as I havent done much crafty stuff since I had adam so no doubt this will be the last chance for another year or so..lol

SH hope hospital visit goes well and hope pains kick off into something else.

Am sitting here peeved with DH at the minute. He told me he would be finishing work at 2pm to come home get us so could take him to pick up his car etc..so no signs sitting here waiting. I just phoned him and he is still in work not bothered at all that Adam hasnt had a sleep so is ratty [as am I] and says he will be home soon ish then I can take him for his car which will mean being stuck in rush hour traffic..grrr not a happy bunny feel like going to bed and telling him to do one!!!
I know it is probably not that big a deal but I havent started tea etc as he was supposed to be bringing in potatos at 2pm now it wont get started till 5/6pm and will have the driving in rubbish traffic to contend with and a grouchy toddler in my car.

george32 · 21/11/2005 16:12

Tell him to wait til tomorrow Nemo (ooh, I'm harsh aren't I!! ). You certainly shouldn't be stuck in rush hour if your back is hurting. If you do go, make sure you take a hot water bottle to put behind you (my new great travelling tip!! )

Finally finished the curtains & pelmet & they look gorgeous. Keep going & sitting in the nursery now. Just need a blackout blind, a cot (ordered today) and, as you say Ei, a baby and we are there.

Anyone else gone pointy?? My tummy is the weirdest shape at the moment.

Right, have to go & buy some food for tea as we have nothing in the house (I've eaten it all!!)

dramaqueen72 · 21/11/2005 16:45

afternoon ladies
bit of a busy one here today, let hope its last minute nesting! cleaned-inside and out- the massive picture windows in sitting room, moved and re-hung large mirror and four pictures. dusted entire downstairs, swept and mopped all floors, done washing x 2, wrapped more christmas gifts, started dinner, cleaned bathroom and for some weird reason cleaned back outside step........ if its not nesting then long may it continue! I'm so not clean-y freak type, much more bake and paint me!
george, glad you like your nursery, they are so nice arent they? and glad you got the curtains up..take it i wasnt the only pg lady up a ladder today then??!
am not pointy but suddenly very very low, and pains all evening, last few days. like you s/h I think its the 'start of the end' but not the start of labour.iykwim!!!!!
actually made dh read 'emergency delivery' in our baby book, his face was a picture........its just the last one arrived so quick I'm abit concerned about this one being quicker! then I was reading about a few homebirths where the midwives were over an hour from saying they they were on their way to getting there!!!!!!!!!!!! now that could be cutting it fine..... dh realised last night we are 35wk, and only have two more weeks to be counted as term....THAT made him sit up!! ha! so we could quite seriously have a baby ANYTIME now. isnt that mad? mad to me anyhow.
losing some of that ucky plug made me stop and think too. is it just me or did these babies seem ages awy, ages away, and then BAM! just about due?
s/h I think you'll make dec. but just!!!!! do take it easy hun
My camera is loooooooooooovely, just so nice to own something special, do brace yourselves for more pics by email from me
scully minus something?? brrrrrrrrrr. brace you!!!! mind you our heating has broken down -oh yes lovely weather for that!- so have a thousand mini heaters around the house. sigh. should be fixed by wednesday night apparently.

dramaqueen72 · 21/11/2005 16:48

and nemo, seems your dh has forgotten your pg! naughty man! hes going to owe you a biiiiiiiiig deep bubbly bath and chocolate I think. my dh keeps doing the same 'can you just..' er no, I'm eight mths pg, hello??!!

Nemo1977 · 21/11/2005 18:13

well I stupidly took him and got back at 5.3-pm..although I moaned all the way there so he brought home chippy tea..lol Back is really hurting so will jump in bath later just worried about if I will be able to get out again..lol Couldnt have taken dh tommorow as I have psychatrist at 9.30am and then consultant at 11.30am and then dh sould be back in work for 12 but is going to go in later. Luckily he is off on wed and thurs.

George glad you like the nursery and good tip about hot water bottle..now I just need one..lol

DQ dh are pain in bum arent they. I still think you are going to be one of nov/just dec mums. Especially with you losing your plug..lol I never lost mine with adam so dont expect to this time. Also agree that out of nowhere the due date has come upon us. I am 37wks on friday and baby will be here in 3 1/2wks....eeeek

sweetheart · 21/11/2005 19:28

feeling utterly crap this evening! I've had the start of a cold for a few days now but today it has really come out. My throat is killing me and my nose is either blocked or streaming - it's probably all the time I've spent hanging around hospitals this week!

I've taken some paracetamol but still feeling rough! Perhaps I'll crawl back into bed tomorrow after I've done the school run!

Hope everyone else is feeling more chirpy.

OP posts:
dramaqueen72 · 21/11/2005 20:44

feel better soon s/h! and hope you dont go into labour with a cold!
nemo, -i only lost abit of it!! not blood streaked so not the 'top' important part yet, just means my bodys thinking about it. it will be very funny if I now go overdue eh?!
last midwife appointment (just over a week ago)I was measuring two weeks ahead. no midwife til next week so am curious to see if I still am..... I have an urge to get things done -have scary list of 'MUST DO THIS'- so either my body knows something i dont or i am finally discovering housework!!

sweetheart · 21/11/2005 20:57

I'm really hoping this doesn't develop into a full blolw cold atm DQ. Hopefully I can fight it off before the baby arrives.

I'm feeling wound up tonight as I've had some trouble with dd at school which is really bothering me. I can sense another sleepless night ahead

OP posts:
bonkerz · 21/11/2005 21:26

Are we normal moany pregnant women???? I know im this moany regardless of being pregnant!!!

SH, hope you feel better soon, i know its already hard to breath with these little angels pushing against our lungs and ribs so would hate to have a cold too! Feet up
DQ, Cleaning your back step! ARE YOU MAD???????
NEMO, hope im getting a nice homemade card you are sounding even more like a stepford wife!! Careful girl!!!
George, glad the curtains are up! I still need to put back up the blind in the nursery cos DH did it and its fallen down again!!
Scully, YAY to your last week at work, do oyu have a long list of jobs to keep you busy for the next few weeks??
Jaysfirst, Hope you are feeling better babe, I share the pain of finding a position thats comfy at night. Alex was awake AGAIN at 4am and im finding im having to change position 9 or 10 times a night cos if i stay still im in agony!!
Ei, Breakfast in bed on sunday , but why do men always moan at us then think a gesture will make it ok? Dh is same, always know i will get flowers if i shout at him and cry!!! come to think of it that vase in the lounge is looking abit empty!

So my days been a bit better! After being in agony all weekend i woke up feeling a little more supple so decided to get the housework done! Hoovered, swept, mopped, made bread, dusted, did washing x3, put all washing away, tidied upstairs, changed and washed all sheets and cleaned bathroom! Even cooked Dh tea!!! And im sure oyu can all imagine im now paying the price for having a tidy house!! My back and hips are aching so much ive actually taken some pain killers in hope i can get a couple of hours kip!! Just had a bath but realise now that it actually hurts more after a bath because of the strange way i now have to sit in my bath tub to wash my hair!!

Think thats it for now, am gonna pop off to bed and TRY to get comfy!!

NIght all

bonkerz · 21/11/2005 21:36

agh new thread please! just realised i posted post number 666!!!! Is that an omen that Alex will be a little devil???????

scully · 21/11/2005 21:58

Being a little girl there's every chance she'll be a little devil Bonkerz, but a smile that makes you melt
Had a lovely lunch out today with 2 friends from work, one of which is on maternity leave and came in with her 6mth old son - he's so cute!
Fairly relaxing afternoon and then left at 4.15pm - think my replacement is getting a bit panicky that I'm only around for 2 more days but she's had more of a handover than most people get so I'm sure she'll be fine, eventually
Not too much to Bonkerz, once I'm off but I'm sure pottering around the house I'll find things to do & next week dd & I have dentist appts & I'm having my hair cut and coloured. Once those appts are out of the way, the baby can come when it likes
Had some more cramping today but only for a couple of hours and then it passed. Worries me everytime it happens though
Have just watched Extreme Makeover Home Edition where the couple had sextuplets, I'm feeling more confident about looking after 2 at a time
dq, couldn't even tell you what my back step looks like but feel free to come and do just half that amount of cleaning at my house, when you're done with your place!
and I hope your cold doesn't develop sh, my boss has one at work and I will be so cross if his germs spread.....

dramaqueen72 · 21/11/2005 22:17

I know I know, back step cleaning!!! i must be losing it........
i have a very expensive black out blind fo the nursery. and its still in the box, because it need altering -cutting metal pole by 3cms exactly.. and I cant/darent do it. my bil promised to come and do it -dh is NOT diy friendly at all!!- but now he and dh have had words i'm starting to think it may always be daylight in my babys room. sigh. so if i come and clean steps for anyone can they come fix blinds?
am making little pictures of the nursery 'ready and waiting' for the first page in my babys scrapbook so might forward it on to you ladies. no mentioning the lack of blind tho eh?!
scully lumch out sounds great, am being taken out tomorrow myself, by 2 older ladies I used to work with and who have now kinda adopted me as surrogate daughter they are going to freak when they see the size of me tho....and worry all lunch that I'm about to give birth.....

had huge row/fight with my 11yr daughter. my goodness she and I are destined never to get on I dont think; trust me, mummies of daughters, 11yr olds are sent to test you massive BH since shouting with her too
s/h drink lots of vit C, take allvitamins you can actually and rest- beat that nearly cold bug before it becomes a real coldy thing!! and relaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaax tonight, hope your worries are eased soon. hope your mums okay too BTW?
ei- meant to say I LOVE gingham, and yellow gingham is sooooooooo sunny, -your nursery is going to be fab!

ei23mummy · 21/11/2005 22:50

evening everyone! im soooo in pain!! i was told at my last m/w appt that i had an infection but had to wait for the test results before i cud have some a/b's so iv waited nearly 2 weeks for the results only to find out that the stupid woman didnt even send off the sample so iv gotta get another sample sent off!! grrr bloody nhs!!
im gonna take some nursery pics soon an put them up on the yahoo thing so i can at least have one pic on there!!
DQ i bought the yellow gingham material about 4 years ago for 60p at a carboot sale (i got an entire roll of it- about 15 metres!! what a bargain!!) and finally iv got a use for it!! il still have a big load of it left when iv made the curtains aswell!! i love yellow 2- its my fave colour!!

george32 · 22/11/2005 07:37

Morning all,
Given up on sleep again as I just can't get comfy.
SH, you poor thing coming down with a cold . I have to smother myself in Vicks to be able to breathe at night without a cold so I can't see it being much fun. Hope it shifts for you.

You all sound very busy and organised. I think my nesting has taken a back burner for a while (my house is a tip at the moment).

I keep reading what everyone else has written but my brains not working at the moment so I think I'll go and slump somewhere with a cup of tea.....

Nemo1977 · 22/11/2005 07:40

morning all

hope your all ok

DQ wouldnt worry about lack of blind over the winter..we usually take down our blackout curtains in winter then put them back up in march.

EI the fabric does sound lovely and how annoying about your mw...grrr

Scully how lovely being a lady who lunches in your last week at work..I really am in shock at how quickly everyones ML is coming around...arghhh

Not a lot going on here am just shattered. DH has taken up snoring as an olympic event methinks. Since I have been pregnant he has started snoring and once he starts I cant stop him. Think its worse as sleeping is hard anyways at the min but then with a drill going off in your ear its worse. Although adam woke up in a lovely mood this morning and came running in asking for a kiss...he usually runs in plonks himself on top of me and asks for milk..lol

ebbie22 · 22/11/2005 09:09

Morning all, hope you are feeling slightly better than you all seem to of lately...
Sh,i understand how rough you may feel, just starting to get over my cold[only 7 odd weeks...]lol...Have been put bk on the bloody iron tablets but not sure whether to take them, keep forgetting to get that saptane[sp]to boast my levels...

Really think this baby is going to be late, not that that worries me too much as in 2 wks my dd will be a 3 year old, where did the years go???

Cant get a polyride[sp] film for my camra anywhere..,so wanted to have an instant for dd to show off to everyone, any ideas?

bonkerz · 22/11/2005 09:14

morning all,

OK here goes: Its cold, im tired, my legs hurt, i cant breath and i feel sick!!!!!

Enough of that for now!
Finally ordered the final bits i needed for the baby, should be here tomorrow! Need to go asda tomorrow to get some tracky bottoms to wear for the next 6 months!!! Then im finally DONE and i mean DONE!
Going out on saturday to finally do all the xmas shopping! Just as well really cos hae a feeling im gonna be pretty much housebound till this angel comes!!

Ok am off to snuggle up in bed till 2.30 then will waddle off to get DS! Ah this is the life!!

sweetheart · 22/11/2005 09:15

DQ - sympathies on your argument with your dd. I'm not sure it's just 11 year olds girls that are sent to try us - my dd is certainly doing that just now.

We are also having problems and I'm starting to wonder when my georgeous little dd was replaced with such a horrid little monster. I've been in tears this morning wondering where we are going wrong with her. I just want my nice little girl back but I'm worried it's too late!

OP posts:
ebbie22 · 22/11/2005 09:18

oh sweatheart,my dd can sometimes[more so lately]be like that...just testing the boundries now i think....Trouble is dd was soo so good until 2 then it just went from there, its the age when they know what they want...
Not sure what to suggest for 11 yr olds,am hoping my dd learns to understand thaat i can be just as stuburn as her...lol
