OK, well we've needed a new thread for ages so I've taken it upon myself to start it.

Good luck ladies - we are nearly down to the last month

35 + 2 or should I say "T minus 4wks 5 days"!

ninah · 18/11/2005 11:12

hello everyone! lovely to meet you yesterday, will look at the pics as soon as I get the chance
CONGRATULATIONS FLUTTERS, we were wondering if this was on the cards! lovely names, too
bonkerz I can beat your journey back left at 5 spent half an hour looking for car which was on different level from the one I rememebered and then missed M25 turn off so went via central London and got back at 9!! oh well, showed Louis Harrods all lit up
So no time to post til now, work mad, but will try to keep up ...
Oh, Georgina is BACK on my list again now, having met a nice George, oh dear
Louis is very taken with you all

ninah · 18/11/2005 11:13

oh, blown my anonmity again Louis is ds!

george32 · 18/11/2005 12:11

Louis is gorgeous Ninah, love his grinning!! (Still can't think of you as anything but Ninah!! ).
What a dreadful journey home. I made that mistake once of coming home from somewhere east london way via central london - never again, M25 every time.
It is very kind of you to say Georgina is back on your list.

Not another dream about labour DQ!! Actually my dream wasn't really labour, I sort of just had the baby dangling from me & covered by a sort of bib, when it spoke we just assumed that it was ready to be born even at 6 weeks early - beat that for weirdness!!

Just had a bloke out to look at our downstairs loo as its broken down (a saniflo thingy).....it's completely kaput & is going to cost us another £500 to get a new one. Why now??? We've only just replaced the boiler and the freezer has conked out, we have had 6 new tyres on 2 cars, the cats costing me a fortune at the vets. I'm sure these things sense when you are pregnant and realise it is their last chance for an overhaul!

flutterbee · 18/11/2005 12:15

Hi Ladies,

Had a lovely nights sleep in my own bed even though a certain little man insisted on sneaking in between mummy and daddy !!!

Wrapped around his little finger all ready.

He fed last night at about 12.30 - 1.30 and then slept through till 8 this morning and I feel great. He seems really unhappy at being put in his crib and will only be cuddled to sleep, my Mum has said that he probably just likes to feel secure and that we should try swaddling him so tonight that is what we shall be doing !!

I am just up loading some pics of him on to Yahoo so they should be there soon for you all to look at if you want to.

I hope George and I will make the next meet up it will be nice to see you all.

Speak soon

george32 · 18/11/2005 12:15

Anyone else really suffering today, I'm sure I'm not the only one. My back is going crazy & my nether regions have a shooting pain everytime I stand up. I am back to being a creaking dinosaur again.
Oh dear, the hardship we have to put up with in order to enjoy a lunch out!!

george32 · 18/11/2005 12:17

Oooh Flutter, how lovely and what a good sleeper .
Can't wait to see the pictures.

Nemo1977 · 18/11/2005 12:34

afternoon all
just got back in

flutter bless at three in the bed..lol Adam always used to do that but when we started swaddling it worked wonders as he didnt have control of his arms so used to flail about a bit..lol

Well DH car broke down last night so he didnt get home till gone 11pm. Then he wanted to take my car today as the alternator has gone on his. This would have meant me being trapped all day..lol So instead all up at 7 to drop dh at work for 8. Thenwent to asda, took adam to park and then to toddler group. Just got home and need to make some lunch in a min but am shattered. DH just phoned to say he finishes at 4 tonight rather than 8,30pm which is a bonus although means i cant sneak to bed for a snooze..lol

ninah · 18/11/2005 12:55

aah, the feeling was mutual George, when I took him to the loos he asked 'can george come to our house?!' then he asked dq! just wish I was a bit closer to you all, Essex is out on a blooming limb.
Sorry to hear you are shattered, I was wiped out last night for sure, feel quite refreshed today for doing something different.
Can anyone do a link to the pics or is that too lazy for words? dq got your email but didn't understand the attachments, a series of letters, were they meant to spell something, a bit cryptic for this time of day (oh yes, it's nearly lunchtime I KNOW but ...)
nemo your mail made me feel exhausted just to read it tho

bonkerz · 18/11/2005 13:19

heres the link to december pictures for you!

here

george32 · 18/11/2005 14:21

So Louis would prefer it if the next meet up is at your house then Ninah
What a sweetie

Just back from my antenatal & the GP seems to think that the baby has finally clued up & the head is engaged. Thought it might have turned today as it had hiccups and they were in a quite strange place!!

Nemo, wow, you have been busy. Definitely time for a snooze for you I think.

Time for a cup of tea for me then taking weird small black fluffy cat to the vets again. She has gingivitis and keep clacking her mouth in pain. Anyone seen 28 Days Later - she sounds like the people on that who get infected!

george32 · 18/11/2005 14:21

No pictures here DQ. Have you sent them yet?

sweetheart · 18/11/2005 15:03

Been for lunch again today I'm turning into a "lady what lunches"!!!!

Ninah - sorry you had such a dire trip home yesterday - it was brilliant to meet you though and Louis is such a sweetie - actually I'm really impressed that all the kids were so well behaved, makes me relieved I didn't bring dd - not sure she would have been such an angel!

George - they say these things come in 3's don't they - so hopefully you've had your run of things breaking down.

Well, I'm off to do the school run - great to hear from you Flutter - your little boy looks so beautiful. Congrats again!
Hope everyone else is well!

ninah · 18/11/2005 16:43

ah, cool, thanks bonkerz, I'm off to have a look (well, it's NEARLY home time).. .. v kind of you re link
Thanks for that sh, I was worried L was a bit of a horror when he started shouting and running away (he knows I can't catch him the monkey). Lunch again, hmm! sounds great, (puddings?!) was lovely to meet you and you were just like I imagined only maybe with Even Better Hair! actually everyone had lovely hair, felt a bit like a bushwoman myself, it must be Product time soon!
have a lovely weekend all, do keep in touch!

ninah · 18/11/2005 17:00

oh, great pics! love the one of you and ds, bonkerz!

expatinscotland · 18/11/2005 17:19

I'm back as well. Blood pressure monitoring went well. Still have an AWFUL sinus infection which has spread into both ears. Doctor thinks this is why bp spiked a bit - I have not been able to sleep b/c of the infection.

Baby is measuring small for date, so have scan booked for Wednesday. Wish they'd tell us the gender then, but no joy.

sweetheart · 18/11/2005 19:27

I'm glad to hear your appt went well expat.

I've been getting a few strong twinges tonight. A bit like very bad cramp around the bottom of my belly. I haven't really noticed by belly going tight though - which leads to a quick question.....

when you go into labour does your belly go hard with each contraction? I've noticed after sex that my belly feels really hard as the uterus is contracted - is this what it would feel like with a contraction? Probably just a case of braxton hicks I think!

37 + 5

OP posts:
bonkerz · 18/11/2005 20:54

ooooo sweetheart! When i had Ben i remember the contractions were not all over my tummy but really low down in my groin, infact the machine they use to moniter the contractions couldnt pick my contractions up so was told i wasnt in labour at all till they realised i was 6cm dialated and therefore must be having contractions! Rest up, lots of fresh pineapple and sex!!!

Have been in pain all day, went and did some shopping and couldnt get all the way round the supermaket! Ended up sitting down on a crate!! Had a lay down before going to midwife.
Good news is that urine infection is still mild so they are going to leave me as i am for now. Alex decided to kick about and midwife was trying to track her but she wasnt having it! Also found out Alex is 1/5 engaged which is probably whats causing my pain! Midwife did say that she thinks Alex is going in more the more i stand! What an excuse to sit all day!!!!
Got an appointment for Physio on 1st December! Am nervous now cos dont know what to expect!
am going to snuggle in bed now cos i have a very sore back and shoulder blade!
BTW, Thanks for the pics! Yet again i look hideous and just very drunk in every picture! Bonkerz by name.......

Jaysfirst · 18/11/2005 21:13

yipeeeeeee BABY PICS!!!! flutter hes adorable....babies cute too..:P seriously, he lookd really well and like you ( or someone) said, a real fighter!!

Have had a busy day today, had the phot man round taking pics of me and DH for the magazine... he was here for about three hours! The good thing though, we get to keep all the original pics, so its like having our portrait done with the bump.. for FREEEE!

Then we had some friends round for early dinner, and i finaly managed to get the fire started, so am sitting here in front of a roaring log fire with the laptop, trying to catch up on todays thread! Bit of a lost cause though really, as like everyone else i forget stuff real easy!

Would like to say again, and to echo others comments, it was good to meet people yesterday, my name badge has gone into my memrabilia (sp) box, DH wanted to know why they all werent made any!

right then off to have another read, hope everyone is feeling ok, Bonkerz, i do recall you saying you were feeling down, i know i might be a bit late in the day but you will make a brilliant mummy for lil Alex when she comes, especially if you are with her, they way you are with DS... stop worrying , it wil be cool....and btw the bills in the post for the chips your DS ate!!!!

Jaysfirst · 18/11/2005 21:14

BTW i didnt get any email with any pics?? DQ if you could forward them to me i will try and upload them on the site.

bonkerz · 18/11/2005 22:00

Have just added the pics to yahoo for you DQ, had to change them from bitmap to Jpeg!!!
All done now tho! Yet more horrid pics of me!

Jaysfirst, you are really sweet for saying that about me! You will have to wait for the money for the chips as im strapped for cash! I have a baby due in a few weeks you know!!!!!

scully · 18/11/2005 22:24

finally a chance to get on here. also really enjoyed lunch on Thursday, lovely to meet you all, even if I was so late [shock) and dd wound me up with some of her behaviour - not that it takes much to wind me up right now
got lost on one of those roundabouts trying to get out of Basingstoke, but other than that had a good trip home, did an hour's shopping afterwards but that was more than enough was knackered getting home at 5.30pm so feel v. sorry for those of you who had to travel longer.
flutter, a big congrats to you and dh, George looks gorgeous in the pictures and you would never guess he was early. dd was 8 days early and she was 6lb7oz so he was a v good weight for 5wks early.
took me 2.5hrs & 3 trains to get to work this morning due to a fire at clapham junction but we then had our xmas lunch/my leaving lunch this afternoon so left the office at 12.45 and didn't return. behaved myself as I was sober but it was still fun and somehow managed to eat 3 courses . consequently haven't needed dinner tonight....
I saw you in the carpark Ninah, as I was leaving, we were parked on level 4 but not sure if it was on that level that I saw you
I think we should definitely be brave and consider another meetup next year, maybe Feb or March, when everyone has figured out how to leave the house with 1 or 2 (or more) children, in the middle of winter

Jaysfirst · 18/11/2005 22:43

do you really bonkerz???....never had guessed! :P

Just had a loksie at DQ pics...phewee at least i only managed to get into one pic, thats the joy of going with a camera, you end up taking the pics of everyone else!! Method in my madness. lol

I agree scully, i think a meet in Feb March time should have given us enough time to master our babies ( if you ever really do ) for another meet, maybe theres somewhere baby friendly we could go to, some kind of playgroup, who knows, seems ages away but i just know its going to come round all too soon!

dramaqueen72 · 18/11/2005 23:28

oh jays- tried to zoom in and crop some of the photos you took, bu they were too few pixels to close in on -did you take them like that? or lower the pixels for the yahoo site? if you have a high res copy i would love them hope you got your email with my ones in -you should of. sigh, must go kick email software if its missed you off!! hope youre pro pic are gorgeous!
was indeed lovely to meet you all. scully was just talking about you to dh when we saw you shopping your daughter was lovely, pretty as a picture and not in the least bit naughty. infact all the kids were, ninah and bonkerz your sons are gorgeous little guys!! I ditto s/h when i say good job my daughter didnt come! 2.5 is just a bit too young to expect her to sit down long.
had a rough day today, everything got to me you know those kinda days? so slept alot of it (!) and grumbled to dh big time. as a result dh has taken day off work and is doing the big grocery shop WITH the children, whilst i rest!!!!!!!!! my goodness, -who is he and what have they done with my husband-LOL-
george, hope you had a good day?
sweetheart, hope your bh are easing in time for bed. I have them quite painfully tonight, right across my back and lower belly and guess what??? as a result of that major grumble to dh he also took me out for dinner, and I went to the bathroom and ................had a slight show!
its okay i know that means nothing by itself, it was just abit like 'omg!'i MUST be nearing the end of this pg!! as tho they can come away in parts, and keep replenishing themselves etc etc it does mean we're near the end. freaked dh telling about it, LOL bit cruel of me as he is now very jumpy around me
oh and bonkerz that photo upload thing is crazy, ALL my photos are jpeg, I never have any bitmaps!LOL but thanks hun for doing that anyway.
tc/nemo/ebbie/babygibbon etc, sorry for going on about meet. we wished you were all there. I vote for the next meet up to be at my house.......its big enough and lots of baby things on tap!!

dramaqueen72 · 18/11/2005 23:56
