OK, well we've needed a new thread for ages so I've taken it upon myself to start it.

Good luck ladies - we are nearly down to the last month

35 + 2 or should I say "T minus 4wks 5 days"!

names list

Add any names you can think of - it might give someone else a spark!!

good idea sh! I'm over there
dq I think the delivery costs would be a bit exhorbitant for mum's knitting, she passed away last year, I couldn't help grinning - hope that doesn't make me a sick person - but just the kind of thing I'd be bound to say too!
glad your dh is being such a sweetie!

scully · 01/11/2005 12:20

go sh, with the new threads today
ebbie, we also like the names jack and daniel, but could never put them together, would get far too much s**t, considering we both like the drink
bonkerz, certainly does pay to be a horder, I have a lot of things from my mum, and she passed away Jan92 - I have cards, letters, postcards she sent, a locket of her hair, loads of recipes her and my grandmother had handwritten over the years. Getting teary just thinking about it, but they are all lovely to look through again, from time to time, even when some time has passed.
No what you mean Expat, I could also do with working until 39wks, but just can't last that long, I'm a lot more tired this time than last, & want a few wks with dd, so she gets used to her reduced nursery schedule and actually being home with mum more
Was looking through our local NCT magazine they publish - might be brave enough to go to one or 2 play things with her, before baby arrives. We have friends in the area, but none with children her age, and as we live a bit of a drive from her nursery, need to make some effort to meet people with older children as well as newborns.....Had such a lovely group of nct friends when she was a baby, but have lost touch with a lot of us moving house several times.

bonkerz · 01/11/2005 12:21

OK im still going. Have just sorted through all Alex Leighs clothes and made up her cot and moses basket (I know im premature there!) Have put up the border and am gonna start carrying bags downstairs now!
I bought back from my mums a HUGE crocheted blanket which she had only just finished making and i intend to use it as a throw for the futon in the nursery! It smells like my mum too which is really comforting today.
Have LOADS of hand knitted cardigans here if anyone wants them. All pastel green and yellow and knitted by my friends. I have so many that i have taken some white and pink ones and juts put the others in cupboard so if anyone wants them just shout.

ebbie22 · 01/11/2005 12:27

Thatsmy dh fav drink, hence the name,i think daniel jack goesbetter,[dj]but we shall see...
None liked the name bexley then.......
I too am a horder, hate throwing things o sentimenatl vaule away....feel so rough going to have a warm bath....

scully · 01/11/2005 13:07

sorry, not a fan of bexley, there was a headache tablet called bex in Australia when I was small, so reminds me of that
really like daniel and jack though, but we will use one or the other, not together.
how nice of your dh to book that dq, mine would always think it was a good idea for me to do, and wouldn't worry about the cost, but wouldn't quite manage to book it

Nemo666 · 01/11/2005 13:13

afternoon all
have tried to catch up but cant remember anything at all. Saw mw this morning and apparently little blighter is now breech, also low iron levels especially considering i am usually 14.3 or something..lol Feel really low and fed up today even though so far adam is behaving as he has been with pil all morning till 12. Am going to go for a sleep at about 2 and jus thope he does or is happy to play trains in his room.

scully · 01/11/2005 13:18

Good luck with the sleep Nemo, my dd currently likes sleeping forehead to forehead with me lovely to cuddle but makes moving around difficult
Think I need to go for a walk soon and get away from my desk for a bit. Finding it difficult to concentrate and could do with a nap.....

dramaqueen72 · 01/11/2005 14:23

Ninah! god I'm sorry, I forgot about your mum, sorry large pg foot in it there. thankgoodness you laughed................

well i'm freaking just a tad here, my dh has BOOKED an accupuncturist for tomorrow! omg!
still it seems a very nice place and they seem keen to help me feel comfy at this stage, and encourage baby to turn (only by acupuncture) so guess I have nothing to lose! but i'm nervous now!LOL

dramaqueen72 · 01/11/2005 14:25

sweetheart, thanks for asking, dh is fine, had some nasty flashbacks but is now much better.
hope your headache clears, not long til you get to sit down at home and post to us!

ninah · 01/11/2005 14:35

keep reading this thread title as the wind up, as in breeze, as in getting the wind up about something, as in SCARY!

sweetheart · 01/11/2005 14:37

DQ - wow your brave going for acupuncture. Isn't it supposed to induge labour - or do they have to stick the needles in specific places for that?

I have a number of someone for if I go overdue - she has a good track record of getting peoples labours going within 24 hours

OP posts:
george32 · 01/11/2005 14:38

I can't stop nesting!!!
Been painting now I can't stop cleaning. I'm starving but keep finding things to do.
Thank god for MN and this thread, at least I find the time to try to keep up.

Pubic area pain is still there but am taking paracetamol to keep it at bay. Is it worth going to the docs about do you think? DP keeps hassling me to go (think he is fed up with my moaning! )

DQ, I have taken a bit of a liking to the name Mollie DP is still mulling it over but I think it is in with a shot!

Right, going to water the plants and make a cup of tea (trying to avoid the full dishwasher that needs emptying) and sit down for a bit longer!

sweetheart · 01/11/2005 14:39

have I spelt it wrong? I've got a total mind block on how to spell - bloody preggie brain!

OP posts:
sweetheart · 01/11/2005 14:41

OK, I'm now freaking out again and have broken into another hot flush.

I've just seen that there is a Nov 05 thread in the post natal section! That will be us in 1 months time

On bloody hell!!!!!!!

OP posts:
scully · 01/11/2005 14:49

Yes I saw that too sh
We also were thinking about Molly, can it be short for anything other than Margaret? I'm one of these people who like to have a name that can be shortened or lengthened if the child wants to when they are older, strange I know.....
dq, I've always wanted to try acupuncture, curious to hear how you find it.
Right, finally going for that walk outside, before I fall asleep at my desk.....

ninah · 01/11/2005 15:02

your sp is fine sh.
but less of the post-n word!

george32 · 01/11/2005 15:30

Finally sat down with my tea after cleaning the kitchen, emptying & refilling the dishwasher, watering the plants, cleaning the microwave and washing the floor. ARGHHH!!!!!!!!!

Ninah, how are things going for you? (Feel free to send me off in the direction of your other thread )

ninah · 01/11/2005 15:34

civil thanks G! had remarkable breakthrough at weekend when he suggested we buy house together I mean after two children it's quite a big step lol
Taking it with a large pinch of sodium choride but nevertheless immediate pressure is off until New Year

george32 · 01/11/2005 15:36

OMG, so things have definitely changed then. Missed all this with my cleaning / shopping frenzy, I must go over to catch up on your thread.
Are you happy about this?
Huge turnaround.

ninah · 01/11/2005 15:41

Well it's what I've wanted for ages, but in view of everything that's happened I am trying to proceed with caution and not be TOO happy iyswim.
He's obviously done some thinking and is a lot more pleasant to be around (which is not difficult) then again I don't want to be a year down the line and back in the same situation again.

george32 · 01/11/2005 15:47

Have you managed to get him to talk about what has been going on over the last few weeks at all or is he just brushing it aside? Any joy with getting him to see someone with you to sort things out?

I just can't get over the turnaround in him.

ninah · 01/11/2005 16:01

b) george, brushing it aside. Hence my concern. He is v stressed about money and working all hours day and night ...
Relate after me for another appt but I am not finding it hugely useful on my own tbh, tend to rely on common sense and good friends!
I don't think he will ever go for me again like he did, and I have told him bad language and arguing in front of ds is OFF the menu. Time alone will tell but I can't take the risk of being back in a vulnerable situation or going through what life has been like the past 2 months ever again, it's not right for the children.

dramaqueen72 · 01/11/2005 17:34

christ s/h! dont say that!!!!!!!!!!! no, its NOt supposed to get labour going, and if they dont reassure me fifty times before they start I'm not doing it!!!!!its a process they offer ladies from 25wks -!-so i assume its okay for me. like I say tho he had better be reassuring before I start!

ninah, wishing you well with your P. but do proceed with caution, i'd hate him to 'change his mind' again and leave you distraught all over again. but like you say, at least selling your house is one step towards what ever way it turns out. good luck hun! maybe hes had his 'midlife crisis' moment and now will behave himself and be lovely to you.

george, sit down lady, trust me you'll hurt tomorrow now! (so will i tho, someones sticking HOT pins in me!!!!) if you cant sit down do you still have my address? come and clean here!!LOL

Jaysfirst · 01/11/2005 17:54

afternoon, or is it early evening....?

Anyway,i have been like a 2 yr old on 'e' numbers today... antenatal classes this morning, then shopping then home to sort all the washing ( how does it get so much?) washed and ironed the new cot bed bedding, then went to the osteopaths, then DH suggested we get a new cd/radio player for the car so went out and got one.. pheweeee when did i find time to work before, all this and i am supposed to be taking it easy!
SPD pain is still so sore, its just no better, i realise that its going to be as bad till after the birth but i am doing so much to try and prevent it from getting any worse, sometimes i think why bother...anyway, trials and tribulations of pregnancy i guess

Sounds like you are going through some testing times yourself ninah, i hope they turn out for you whatever or however that might be!

G you sound like me, what with all your flitting around and no resting, make sure you take some time out to regain your strength!!

SH shushhhhh about the postnatel malarky i seem to have only just come to terms that i am pregnant, now i have to think about AFTERWARDS....

Nice move on the acupunture DQ a friend of mine from my Beauty days tels me it has helped quite a few of her clients not just in the turning of the bubs but also of the relaxation that gets induced, let us know how you get on!!

Hope all the other Dec ladies are keeping well, i read someone was havong probs with swelling, try and rest as much as possible ( yes i know its hard) and as much as poss keep your feet above heart level, this way it aids in them draining...someone told me to put books under the bottom legs of the bed so when you lie down your legs are higher than yr head...never tried it, just thought id pass it on!!;)

If anyone is intrested and have time, DH has put a short video of our bubs from the 4D scan, on the website here its been cut a cpl of times to get the best bits on, but all the movement you see it the baby itself NOT the sonographer! :O

OK i will check in a bit later on, i cant believe how dark it is now, mind i dont mind the dark eveninngs i like to light all the candles and shut the world out!!
Laters x
