Londoner · 20/11/2005 13:44

Awww thanks you guys, glad you feel encouraged, it's a very great thing....
Good luck alice now that you've had your sweep I hope things start livening up for you!
chacha, lol at you reaching your nesting 'peak'..... TBH by the time I went into labour my house looked a tip and my nesting instincts had mutated into mad cooking roast dinners each night inc gravy 3 veg & pop-overs for entire family and making sure we all sat down & ate together...lol it's so funny, you never really know how it's going to manifest itself, & of course it's only with hindsight that you realise how crackers you were & how obvious it was.......last time I spent 1st 7 hrs of early labour finishing painting our main hallway that I'd spent 8 hours painting the day before! What a mad woman eh?

ChaCha · 20/11/2005 22:39

Very quiet today ladies, hopefully you're all enjoying a relaxing Sunday and you're all still hanging on...waiting for me of course!!

Not much happening here, same on/off cramps/twinges/pains and hoping it's not long to go.

Hopefully see more of you post tomorrow. Nighty Night x

KristinaM · 21/11/2005 08:58

morning...I'm still here...waiting for chacha

get a move on woman, I am desperate to have this baby

Dh is exhausted too.......

ChaCha · 21/11/2005 09:30

Good morning Kristina,

It's freezing here and I have been awake since forever...[yawn] How are you feeling today?
Think today will be my last day alone as dad arrives tomorrow and bubs should be here at the weekend...

.. Nothing much else to say ..

LilJ · 21/11/2005 10:04

I'm still here too! Despite having a 'feeling' about the 19th nothing happened this weekend. Still having all the twinges, tremendous pressure on pelvis when walking and occasional BH but nothing regular enough to indicate labour.

My Mum arrives from the States on Wednesday for Thanksgiving, but she's only here for a few days so I REALLY REALLY hope baby comes before she leaves, otherwise I hope she doesn't feel like it's a wasted trip. At least we'll have big turkey dinner!!

Well off to to put together some flat-pack furniture we bought this weekend (boy did I get some stares in Ikea - I think they were scared I'd give birth there and then). I think my main nesting thing is putting together furniture as I seemed to have done a lot of it recently! (DH doesn't have the patience for it) Also have to buy cards & gifts for two friends who have just had their babies - very jealous, even though both of them were very overdue. So will try and have a productive day and I'll try not to think about getting this baby out...

Hope you're all well and Kristina & ChaCha - sorry that you're feeling as frustrated as me, but also glad that I'm not the only one left!

J xx (39+3)

alicemama · 21/11/2005 10:19

It's Freezing!!!!!!!

Well as you can probably tell, my sweep hasn't worked yet so I'm stuck in the house panicking about being induced on Saturday. Never been so scared of anything before in my life, I ust want to hide away in a corner til this baby decides to come out on its own.
Dh is trying so hard to cheer me up but can't seem to get it out of my mind. Worst thing is I find myself pushing dh away as I don't want him to see how really scared I am. He's a born worrier and I don't want to stress him out anymore than he already is.
Made so many plans for this baby to have a natural birth in a relaxed environment and I'm going to end up being induced in a horrible ward & delivery suite.....I know its horrible as I worked there once for a couple of weeks when I doing my nursing training!
I promise I'm not normally this miserable and when this baby comes you'll see that I'm quite a happy, lively person but att the moment everything else is takin over.

Hope everyone else is feeling ok, if not here's a cyber hot chocolate & piece of cake!!!

alicemama 41 weeks

ChaCha · 21/11/2005 10:42

LilJ - Thanksgiving dinner sounds lovely. Something to look forward to if baby hasn't arrived yet anyway

Alice - Still a good few days until Saturday, chin up! I hope your experience of the horrible ward was an isolated one - I need some hope here!! You've made me crave a hot chocolate now but no cake in sight unfortunately. off to put the kettle on...where is everyone?

Karma? Busy? Sharon? SS?

alicemama · 21/11/2005 10:45

Chacha- I made a choc chip & marmalade cake yesterday afternoon to take my mind off things. It seems that I haven't got the nesting thing I'm constantly baking or cooking.....dh has never eaten so well!!!!

karmamother · 21/11/2005 10:57

Morning to all the lovely bumps on here!

Not posted over the weekend as DP's kids have been here so we've been trying to keep them entertained.

I'm also suffering twinges/backache/cramps etc but nothing that looks imminent. Had 3 rather nippy BHs last night during Antiques Roadshow & I was getting a bit excited but then they stopped. This is really different to last time where I was woken up in the night by the first contraction & kept having them every 15 mins. Also, this time the head's still not engaged so I know not to get too optimistic until it does.

I can have a sweep at term+3 by the MW & then I have one booked at the hospital (together with a CTG) for term+5. They do say that a second sweep can be more successful than the first. Might have to do a bit of BDing in between the two. Ouch!
Londoner, really loved your birth story & soooo of your beautiful 3rd stage!!

KristinaM, they say I'm not giving them any cause for concern with my GD, baby doesn't seem too big, sugars within normal levels etc. So they would only induce me following the usual protocol, ie.term+whatever. However, they did say they'd induce me at any time after 40wks if I wanted them too. It feels like they're putting the responsibility onto me, not sure if I like that! I think the sweep & CTG at term+5 is their way of keeping a close eye.

Chacha, hope you're keeping your spirits up. Hey, black bin liners & dishwasher tablets are important at a time like this!

Congrats to Mamman & Isla.Hi to everyone I've not mentioned.

I'm still in my jammies so I shall brave the shower on this cold & frosty morning. Brrrr!

karmamother · 21/11/2005 11:01

Hot chocolate!!?

Cake!!!?

What are you all doing to me????

ChaCha · 21/11/2005 11:28

Awww...poor Karma! Won't be long though and then you can truly indulge Glad you posted, thought you might have left us November ladies, seems we are all in the same boat. Hope a big waves approaches fast so that I can fall out!!

Alicemamma - Maybe we could do a rota of some sort? I can get on with your domestic chores while you bake some treats..think that would be a happy balance Can't really be bothered to cook let alone bake but constantly running around with febreeze in one hand and polish in the other driving myself loopy! Am also turning into my mother..obssessed with my new washing machine and have it going all the time...sad!!

Keep posting you lot...nobody else's ear to chew today x

Morning to my lovely ladies still with bumps! Keep reading your thread but don't have anything interesting to contribute anymore. It's all nappies, lochia and boobs on our side...

Sorry you're all feeling fed up (is anyone still enjoying being pregnant or is that a silly question?)

Meant to say on my last post that we'll be back together soon not back soon.

Is Bob sill AWOL?

Glad you got the Arnica Busy. Was worried it might smash in transit.

Right will keep looking in on you guys x x x

sarahsausage · 21/11/2005 14:04

Afternoon ladies,

Haven't posted over the weekend as dp was home and wanted to spend as much time with him as possible before he left again. Staying at MIL's every night dp is away, they don't want me on my own if i go into labour, will have dd to get sorted too so is really nice of them. Also means MIL will stay with me at the hospital until dp arrives. I'm soooo lucky i get on so well with her.

Busy - didnt realise we are the same age. Luckily though this baby will be around 7/8 months old on my 21st! Hope baby shows up before your birthday, i was pregnant on my 18th and it wasnt much fun!

Thought i was having contractions last night, not regular, they came in inervals of around 10-20 minutes each time but only lasted an hour or so then they disappeared. Was very as want this baby NOW!!

Had an incident this morning while in bed. Was around 6.00am and all of a sudden dp jumps out of bed and switches light on while cursing. He told me "i've just been stung by a F***g wasp". I was laughing told him to go back to bed and that it must have been a dream, but he was adamant he had been stung. Sure enough there was a bloody wasp walking around on the carpet next to the bed! The little bugger had stung dp on the corner of his mouth! Soo glad it wasnt me as am such a baby, i probably would have cried all morning!

Anybody trying anything other than RLT to get things moving? I hate spicy food so the hot curry is out, unless a korma would do the trick? Dp up for the bding, although me not so much, but i'm sure by wekend i'll be wanting to try anything and everything!! Been walking loads these past few weeks, off out this afternoon with MIL, so sure i'll get in another couple of hours of walking!

Having a few niggles this afternoon, but no more so than the past week. I find myself disappointed every time i go to the loo, keep expecting to have had a show. This baby has strict instructions to come on or before next Tuesday, really do not want to go over my dates, so tonight would be nice .

Off to go do some washing before going to MIL's.

Sarah 38+6 (8 days!!!!!)

rodeo1 · 21/11/2005 14:10

I hate wabbies!! Your poor dp!!

ChaCha · 21/11/2005 14:16

Hiya Rodeo,

How's things on the other side of the fence?

SS - It's good news that you're going to be staying at MIL's, hopefully when you go into labour it will be at the weekend but if not it's fab that your MIL will be with you until DP's return. You must feel quite relaxed now. Wasp bite sounds painful...ouch!

Had decided that all the kitchen cupboards needed cleaning and rearranging and am now knackered with 2 cupboards left to do. I am getting to the point now of not wanting any visitors in order to keep the house spick and span..I am really becoming OTT - I think it's an illness. Poor DH..he gets scowled at for lying on the sofa in his work clothes..I must get a life!! And Fast....

mears · 21/11/2005 17:23

karmamother - I have updated antenatal expressing of colostrum for you

mears · 21/11/2005 17:26

here

ChaCha · 21/11/2005 17:53

Hi Chacha, how are you doing? How's life? I told you it would come to this didn't I? Talking to myself on the November thread!! It's just me, myself and I!

Well, my mad cleaning agenda is not yet over. I actually went out with neighbour to get some more scented candles and think I have created the perfect environment for a home birth. Shame i'm not having one... Clean, clean, clean...and no one is allowed in the house, LOL.
Chair is here...hurray!!!!

Londoner · 21/11/2005 18:16

Still looking out for you ChaCha....you are not alone...

Londoner · 21/11/2005 18:20

Maybe you could create a new November thread called something really positive?
