Nice to see you Londoner - I can imagine that you are v.busy though! Hopefully siblings are enjoying their new baby and you're getting some rest too

Lilj - Glad to see you post. You must be feeling relieved to have the cot up now etc.. I've only one piece of furniture left to arrive and that's the glider chair, it doesn't arrive for another couple of weeks though, at least the cot is up and waiting!!
Will be interesting to see what your consultant says come Monday, mine is booked for Friday, we shall have to compare notes (if we are still standing that is).
I'm off to find some rasperry leaf tea, I guess i'll find it at the local health shop.

Harpi - I'm ignorant but know i'll have to be enlightened soon. Croup? I think i remember a friend talking about this but I probably didn't pay much attn at the time....

All the best Twinkle. Thinking of you and we all look forward to your news xxxx hugs xxxx

Hi Ladies,

Just nipping over from the December thread. I'm not due till 18th December but my waters broke last week (33 weeks) and have been told that if I don't go naturally by Tuesday then I am going to be induced I will then be 35 + 2 so I may be hopping on over to your postnatal thread until the other Dec ladies catch up. Hope this is OK

Just a quickie to say congratulations Enthusia and Welcome baby Sam!!

Aren't we having some good weights?! Jess was the smallest so far and she was 6.12 which isn't that small! Well done ladies!

Well really must get back to tidying my hell hole of a house!

rodeo1 · 10/11/2005 16:22

All the best Twinkle!! Has your dh got full MN instructions?! Have a great day tomorrow! Can't wait for your announcement! Yay!!

ChaCha · 10/11/2005 18:59

Hi Flutterbee, hope all goes well with you - the November ladies are a great bunch, hopefully see you there soon [raises hands in prayer]

I do hope BoB is okay. It's been a long time since she posted. Had hoped her partner or friend would post something so I do hope she has good news even if she's just resting in hospital.

Went to Boots and Mothercare this afternoon, treated myself to some cosmetics and yet more toiletries. Managed to get measured for a nursing bra only to realise that I was wearing a bra that was about 2 sizes too small!! So glad I got measured, didn't realise. Never thought I'd go into the 40range!! LOL. Do i need one of those baby grooming sets for his hospital bag? For the 50th time have rearranged bags. Samsonite is now holding all baby things and I've had to get suitcase out again for all of mine..towels and robe just take up too much space and I want everything together.
Have come home with very strong nesting mode, hope this is a good sign - I'm washing last of the gro's and am about to tackle the bedroom - we are rearranging the furniture yet again tonight....DH is finally showing his excitement!!! He's been very work orientated for a few months, probably feeling the pressure of responsibility and what not but he's really starting to get interested and asking lots of questions, reading and being a good support. Yipppeeee!! I feel very happy
...bu that could change at any moment...and it usually does, hee hee!!

Come on the rest of you...where are you all?

tessasmum · 10/11/2005 20:47

Still on a high here, helped by a half decent night's sleep, had Ash in with us and we all slept better than the first night.

Congratulations Enthusia and welcome to Sam.
Belated good luck to Twinkle as well.

Tribpot - it was a close run thing with the DiY delivery! Think he was happy at the lack of mess too!

Only slight downer is that I've got damn sore boobs from the bf Don't think I've got it quite right yet though I fed Tessa for just over a year and hadn't expected it to give me any trouble this time round. Just a word of warning to those wanting to do it/doing it again - its still a learning process!

Right, I'm off to check out the post-natal thread

peepee · 10/11/2005 20:52

ChaCha....
Got your message. Fingers crossed for you. I am sure you will breeze thru it
It is really great to hear from you.

CONGRATULATIONS to those you who have had your adorable babies. What lovely names, they're great.

{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}

beartime · 10/11/2005 21:33

Thanks Karma for the input about pushing - thought I might have a defect or something!

Cha Cha - i would take a grooming set, or a baby nail scissors anyway, cos ours came our with long sharp nails and scratched up his face. We put mitts on but took them off again cos he loves to suck his thumb and couldn't! So when he was asleep next i cut his nails and it really helped.

ChaCha · 10/11/2005 21:58

Beartime - that's great advice, thanks for that. I had intended to buy one of those sterilizers, you know the advent one that comes with a few bits and pieces but I keep thinking it's not necessary until baby is actually here as I do not know whether I'll be b/f or just using bottle. There's no rush for it is there?

One small suitcase, samsonite for baby and toiletries case is okay to take to hossie right?

Have just had a great spring clean! Feel good.

ChaCha · 10/11/2005 21:59

Oh...cannot believe how active and e-active you guys are after just having your babies..you all make it seem like such a breeze!!!
I sure hope it is xxx

rodeo1 · 10/11/2005 22:23

Chacha, re your Arnica tablet query the stronger the dose the better. 30 would be good but I got the 200 potency which I think worked wonders (as recommended by Pupuce). I got mine from Helios for about 6 pounds, I'll try and do a link. Dosage - I took 2 tablets 4 times a day about a week before delivery - they heal bruising from both sections and natural births, and help baby get over trauma of birth through your breastmilk too apparently.

Arnica here!

Right really must go and SLEEP!!

rodeo1 · 10/11/2005 22:26

They have a minimum order of 8 pounds I think. I ordered some Calendula pills too, that's supposed to help with something else to do with childbirth. Can't remember what, but they are both very safe to use

rodeo1 · 10/11/2005 22:28

If it's easier to get them from Boots go for the 30 potency!

ChaCha · 11/11/2005 09:17

Blimey, it's so busy on here I need a whole day to catch up!!! [sarky emoticon]

Thanks Rodeo - What do i choose on the pull down option list? Sorry for being thick. I'll order some later today if you can guide me in the right direction.

Good morining!

You're right cha cha, takes forever to catch up!

Dp back this evening, hopefully he wont be too tired and we can have a nice dinner and a bottle of wine (just the one glass for me ) before he crashes for the night. Miss not having him around but needs must.

There are STILL no signs of this baby coming any time soon, and as i went 9 days over with dd im not holding my breath that anything will happen in the next 3 weeks.

Well, shall go and brew up some RLT, see if we can get things amoving.

novadandypowder · 11/11/2005 10:39

Chacha - I have some 30c Arnica tablets, in fact I have a lot left as kept forgetting to take them! They're from Neals Yard and you take 1 tab every 6 hours (instructions on the bottle). Do you want them? If so CAT me your address and I'll send them out to you asap!

Last day with MIL here today and I have to say I'm very relieved as she's driving me crazy!!! Can't complain to DH though as he gets very defensive. Can't wait to have the house back to myself.

CADS · 11/11/2005 11:19

YIKES 1 DTG!!

Ds was 14 days late so not panicking too much. No signs of labour starting anytime soon.

Congratulations Enthusia and Jenjam and welcome to your little boys.

Can't believe we have 14 babies already!!

How is everyone feeling?

I'm starting to feel a little sad that it will no longer be just ds and I, and that I won't be able to give him all my time and attention. He still hasn't got any idea what is about to happen and I feel guilty that he will no longer be the sole centre of dh's and my universe. Anyone know what I mean?

Other than that not much to report. Hormones are all over the place and find myself being very impatient and short tempered with everyone and everything. Normal, I suppose. Just waiting for baby to arrive. Will have to pencil in some bding tonight.

Bye for now
CADS

ChaCha · 11/11/2005 11:57

Hi Nova - I know what you mean about wanting the house back to yourself, it's perfectly normal! My mum was a fantastic help to me and did not burden us in the least but It was nice to potter around on my own again and have that bit of space especially when DH is home.
Thank you so much for the offer of tablets, I wish i'd seen your msg just an hour before, I was going to wait for Rodeo's reply but am feeling anxious about every tiny last minute thing so I hit the nail straight on the head as they say.
Motherhood seems to suit you so well, It's nice to hear you're hoping for number two so soon, just goes to show!

SS - Sounds like a lovely night. We have been trying to have a few of those lately (minus the bottle of wine but substituted with my favourite 'Ame' drink) but as soon as i eat I could literally fall asleep on the chair!

CADS - When do you see your m/w next? Do you really think you'll go much over EDD? I'm so scared of that happening..I don't think i could keep sane until the EDD as it is let alone go over..baby feels so big right now, it stretches all over the place and I keep looking at newborns thinking 'how is something like that going to get out of me?' doesn't seem possible.

In laws are on their way for what might be the last time so off to get ready. See you all later x

rodeo1 · 11/11/2005 12:15

Sorry Chacha, sweetie, let me have a look now...

Not many of you left now! Make the most of your sleep!!. Re: arnica, I cannot praise it too highlym(arnica 200, Rodeo's link). Took 2 days to kick in, but bruising totally gone now, compared to 2 weeks with dd. Bad night sleep last night, but if I've learnt anything over 3 pregnancies, it's to just relax and take whatever hits you, as you have little control and it's such a relatively short period of time . Am in a routine of sorts, but still very early days, so I'm just trying to relax a bit about feeds/sleep times etc..
Finallly decided on middle name - Thea - so can get birth announcement cards done!
Will try and locate PN thread, but will keep in touch here too! Good luck Twinkle - Friday came round quickly!
ChaCha - I feel nervous for you what with all you bag packing and repacking! Agree, little baby clippers are best, and avoid scratch mitt issue.
Did Nova say she was hoping for no.2 soon? I got pregnant 6 mnonths after birth of dd (planned_), and it was the best bthing I've done re: sibling friendships etc. Just some food for thought .

SharonTW · 11/11/2005 16:59

Hi everyone, done my last bits of shopping today took my Mum who is more of a hindrance than a help !!!But that's it, I'm on strike now, got such a heavy feeling down there ... everyone telling me I won't be long now becasue as we all know the the whole world is a midwife !!!
Even got a lovely willow tree figure for DH called New Dad, it's gorgeous and he's a big softy so he'll appreciate it, going to wrap it up from baby. Bought him a card for his birthday on Sunday from the baby just in case , wishing !!
Will check for any more news later on tonight
