Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Wow, beartime, you really had a time of it! Despite your plans going out the window, you still sound chirpy & positive about the whole thing. That gas & air sure is fine stuff, isn't it? The lack of urge to push could have been due to how low baby's head was in the birth canal. Some women feel the urge to push too soon, before full dilatation, if the head is very low down. But if the head is a bit high you might not get the same stimulus. Still, well done for your mammoth pushing!! You've now moved over to the other side. Not too many of us left here, boo hoo.

SharonTW · 09/11/2005 21:48

sarah sausage - Lotti is our name for a girl too with Tom or Jack for a boy up to now !!!

ChaCha · 09/11/2005 21:49

Cross posts Sharon...Hope you are well
I cannot wait to give birth now....just want to lie on my stomach, hug my duvet and snuggle up to my DH without grobag separator or hundreds of pillows....I will be able to do that won't I? He Heee...

ChaCha · 09/11/2005 21:54

karma - I've just seen your reply on the 'big babies' post. You know, I'm surprised at how many people have suggested giving birth to bigger babies is easier. I was telling DH about this last night and he couldn't fathom how.

Yeah, you're right you know! Surprising prediction of weight when I've been seriously sick since day one - all I can say is it must have been the coke!!! Mind you, it could be simple genetics couldn't it? Time will tell, I'm actually intrigued to find out how right or wrong they may be. As Busy said the other day, her friend was induced on that basis only for the baby to measure smaller - that takes the biscuit!!!

novadandypowder · 09/11/2005 22:11

Huge Congrats to JenJam and Beartime (think I've already done Tessasmum but can't remember?!)- look forward to sharing baby tips over on the post natal section.

Chacha - just because we're having our babies it doesn't mean we're all parting, there's a whole new side of babydom coming our way that we can share!

Thinking of you Enthusia xx

Rodeo - we only decided on a middle name on the day we registered Natalie, nothing like leaving it til the last minute.

Big hugs to all those still waiting for their little bundles

ChaCha · 09/11/2005 22:20

Thanks Nova - Opening scene of Grease suddenly sprang to mind...

Danny... is this the end?
Of course not; it's only the beginning....

alfiesmum · 10/11/2005 08:46

Enthusia's dh has posted on the old thread! the part ix one. I wont spoil it by repeating it.
Massive congratulations though

alfiesmum · 10/11/2005 09:00

This is the message -

Hi everyone - A quick e-mail to say that Kirstie gave birth to our son today at 6.50pm. Sam, 8lb's and 2oz's appears to be the perfect child... sleeps, breast feeds straight away and doesn't pooh! More to follow tomorrow when the boss gets back (Kirstie) from hospital. Hope you are all well - advice for men... take energy drinks with you, sleep as and when you can (labour goes on forever) and everything is your fault - except it!

KristinaM · 10/11/2005 09:07

Congratulations Enthusia and Dh and welcome Sam

Best Wishes to Twinkle x

tribpot · 10/11/2005 11:05

tessasmum, and all the other November mummies, big congratulations from me! Glad that it all went well, love the pics of Ash and Tessa. And v glad that your dh didn't have to deliver on his own as I think he feared he might

ChaCha · 10/11/2005 11:08

Congratulations to Enthusia I'm so happy for you - I was sure it would be a boy too, very happy at my own analysis, he heee!! Can't wait for birth story

Twinkle - Does keeping busy take your mind of it? Don't you fancy just putting feet up and enjoying last day of being mum to two? Will be thinking of you and looking fwd to news.

LOL - funny not waking up to read any more posts of frantic nesting instincts or how we are going to spend our day.

When do they advise starting on the rasperry leaf tea and brisk walks?

twinkle1 · 10/11/2005 11:16

chacha
not been doing much work cant seem to find the get up and go don't think i will be doing much more than stacking dishwasher and putting a few bits and pieces away.
Its blinking cold and windy here today, anyway im off to have a bath and re check my bags for the hospital.
twinkle

harpsichordcarrier · 10/11/2005 11:16

actually raspberry leaf tea is not too bad, esp with a spoon of honey....
I am on three cups a day, not that it is doing any flipping good.
also brisk walks. well, about as brisk as I can manage given that I walk at the pace of a lame cow.

ChaCha · 10/11/2005 11:18

LOL Harpi - Good to see you back. How was your appt yesterday?
I'm 38weeks tomorrow so would you suggest that I start drinking it now? I can wait another 2 weeks if necessary (not that i have any choice in the matter of course) but I think i'd be one grumpy woman if i went over!!!

Twinkle - Good for you. You relax and enjoy your afternoon.

Diege · 10/11/2005 11:23

Morning everyone, and many thanks for all your good wishes!Have just read my birth story, posted by DH, as just got back from hospital last night. Needed 2 nights in , as although great labour felt really shattered and overwhelmed by afterpains!! Liberty is gorgeous, and so far quite an easy baby; now seems years since I was pregnant! (though still have the bump!).
Many congrats to all other who have given birth - will try and catch up, and good luck to everyone who is left - you have a verey exciting time ahead!,
Diege and Liberty (3 days old).

harpsichordcarrier · 10/11/2005 11:33

Liberty is a lovely name, congratulations!
must get round to reading everyone's birthstories.
yes no reason not to be drinking raspberry leaf tea now. there is actually clinical evidence to show that it helps for an easier labour!
my bp was stable yesterday, but have ot go and see the consultant today. registrar said last week that I was not to go over 40 weeks (Sunday) but I think I can persuade the consultant to let me hang on for a bit longer. I'd really rather NOT be induced if poss.

ChaCha · 10/11/2005 11:58

Congratulations Diege! Liberty is indeed a lovely name

Harpi - I best find out where i can get some then and go on a mission. Hope that you don't have to be induced either. I can't remember but is this your first?

Had a pretty rough night with constant trips to the loo, much more than usual, and achey back and hips. DH is on his way home to have lunch with me and then i'm planning to snuggle up in spare room with DVD. See you all later xxx

harpsichordcarrier · 10/11/2005 12:01

no this is my second - i have a dd of 2.5 - up all night with croup! what fun...

LilJ · 10/11/2005 13:11

Wow everyone seems to being having their babies! Congratulations to all the new mums!!

I sooooooo want to join the post-natal thread, but it looks like ChaCha and me might be holding on to the very end and have enormous babies to boot!

I've been guzzling raspberry leaf tea, drinking pineapple juice, eating curry, taking hot baths, etc. But apart from lower back pain, aching hips and the occasional Braxton Hicks, baby seems quite content to stay just where he/she is! Have read the big baby thread and feel a bit better now, but also seeing consultant on Monday so will see what they think...

I'm now officially in nesting mode though (it took a while) and have put the nursery together over the past two days including assembling the cot, changing table/dresser & nursing chair all by myself as DH (ChaCha we seem to be having dual lives right now) has put his back out. Just ordered a baby bath off ebay and when it arrives the house will be ready for this baby (the parents are a different story!)

Well off to brew another pot of RLT...

J xx (37+6)
