Am getting a bit worried about ds, he seems to be getting really clingy last few days-anyone else finding this? sarahsausage? kristina?

hoping its not a sign of things to come, he constantly wants to sit on my lap(whats left of it!) and hes never been this clingy/dependant, I woke him up from his nap this afternoon and I couldnt put him down, he was going balistic!

oh! off to watch enders, see ya ina bit x

BAm thats so weird.....Ds was really clingy today and he is NEVER like that( well except when he is ill). Was at friends and he just clung onto my knees, wouldnt play with the other kids. normally he LOVES other kids. i just thought it was his teeth but maybe he is picking up on my stress or sensing something is about to change. Obvioulsy we cant explain to him as he is only 17 months old

Tex - congratulations and well done on the birth of Rosie

Enthusia · 07/11/2005 20:58

Hiya, just a quickie as just got in. No bubs unfortunately.

Got really down yesterday about being stuck in house so DH took me with him to Ipswich today and will probably go to Lakeside tmrw. Not doing as much walking though as quite uncomfortable.

It feels (and apparently looks) like I have been punched down there. It is all swollen and is like sitting on reams of tissue. I am getting loads of sharp pains as well, like something clawing out of vagina, nice

Beks - what gorgeous photos - he looks so brand-spankingly new!!!!!!

Tex - congratulations, really good to hear from you again.

GO TESSAMUM - you may well have a little bundle of joy by now - how exciting!!!!!!!

Kristina - completely agree about labour/pg symptoms, it is driving me MAD!!!!

Thanks for asking after me Twinkle and ChaCha. Twinkle - its getting really close now isn't it, feels very surreal, hope you are not in too much pain now.

Sorry if I have missed anyone

Oh yes - Happy Belated Birthday Nova - Did it feel very different? Your first birthday as a Mum?

Right if I don't log in until later tmrw have most probably gone with DH, will keep you posted. Have a great evening!!!!!

39+3

Busyalexsmummy · 07/11/2005 21:00

OMG! Im really starting to poop my pants about going through labour again, I swore I wouldnt get like this, and have been trying to stop myself thinking about it, but its all the pressure in my rectum + constantly being constipated(sorry tmi) thats bringing all the pain/fear back.....

WTF am I doing??? ahhhhh!

BEKsmum · 07/11/2005 21:08

Evening girls,

Tex congratulations on the birth of Rosie Rae, she's gorgeous and I've got to say you wear that gown so much more stylishly than me!!! I was in labour room 8 I think and maternity bed 1c just a week before you, we nearly managed to meet up only Thomas had other ideas!

Twinkle I'm glad you amended your message to Tessasmum rather than me, I thought you knew something i didn't for a minute there as today was my due date, how horrified would I have been to find another one in there! plus I've been asked twice if I'm still struggling on with the pregnancy, and of course I took great delight in watching people squirm when I replied "no I had him 10 days ago"

Chacha, I did succumb in the end but I just can't help being the proud mummy! Hope you're going to post pictures too.

Tessasmum, hope alls going well and you know there's nothing better than a long dark haired man!!!

Ben was definitely more impressed with Thomas's choice of present than he was with Thomas himself at first. He couldn't believe that Thomas had actually bought him exactly the car he'd asked him for and that talking through the tummy telephone worked!

Busy, Ben got clingy a couple of weeks before I popped, I think they just know that things are imminent, but if Alex is anything like Ben he'll settle down again once you get home and things go back to normal - we've found that being bombarded with presents has helped distract him!

Hope everyone else who's missing in action are doing ok, off to catch some zzzz's now while Thomas is asleep, speak to you all tomorrow Beks

BEKsmum · 07/11/2005 21:14

Sorry Enthusia we crossed posts, How are you doing? I can't believe you're still hanging on in there, it won't be long now though - I bet you can't wait.

Those pictures were taken literally minutes after Thomas was born as my friend who is an anthestists assistant was in the room with us and she took the photos - I've spared you all the ones of me being stitched etc - totally embarrassing but funny at the time!

Diege · 07/11/2005 21:51

This is Mr Diege Awoken by Diege tossing and groaning at 3:45 am 7-11. Diege awake since 2am with variously 4-8 min contractions, but most concerned to make it to 8am to get the 2 others off to school and nursery. We didn't make it of course. Friend took over at 5:15 for that job and we headed into warrington with hazards on at 6, through red lights at Diege's suggestion from pained crouch on back seat on all 4's. Into labour ward and on with monitoring and tens machine. Gas and air great for relaxing me, and to lesser extent D. Diege examined D 7cm. Pleaded for epidural despite all natural intentions and granted, slow to take. Cups of tea, no food for D, much to her chagrin. Night shift went off and day shift slightly more friendly and proved businesslike but without too many frills. Trace observed 2 hours by Mr Diege, not much progress, 3 min contractions, oddly, FHR very steady. Then at 9:30 pain increased markedly with contractions, quickly from 2/10 to 8/10 and FHR fell into same phase, going high with contractions. A bull was bellowing in the next room. Diege moved into the finishing strait with 5 contractions and hard efforts of 4/5 goes each before head moved through pelvis, some panting. Much blood, minor tear, requiring 2 skin stitches, probably caught by shoulder on exit to judge from Diege's response which would have shocked a docker and caused her to drop her fag,so it must have stung.
Much to our surprise a girl. For many months all Dieges predictions (low pulse, bump shape, midwife whispers, needle tests, blood drinking, throwing bones, alignment of planets, swivelling skulls) a boy. Libby weighed 7-11 on 7-11 and she is a contented little GIRL. We

Evening,
tessasmum, hope your labour is progressing well, good luck.

Diege, thanks for that wonderful description of your delivery, courtesy of hubs. As you know, Libby is a fave name of mine. Well done.

Enthusia, what you describe down below sounds like vulval varicosities, which are varicose veins in your vulva. If they ache, use an ice pack wrapped in a towel.

Had a very tiring day with lots of lifting & stretching so I'm having a lazy evening in front of the telly. So much for a restful maternity leave!

ChaCha · 07/11/2005 22:46

Evening all,

WoW! Congratulations Diege, well done!! Another one bites the dust...

Enthusia, it's great to hear from you but you aren't serious my friend?!? Hope the car is kitted out with all your hospital gear and blue notes to hand..I do envy you though, I get tired just going to the petrol station and don't want to be anywhere far from home or a clean loo!

Twinkle - Hope you enjoyed your meal. Busy, seems that your DS knows that a sibling is in the pipeline, hope all is well. Karma - Good that you're relaxing.

Just taken mum to the station and ended up in absolute tears. Can't believe how much i'm missing her already, it's been great, really bonded after such a long time.
Still panicking that baby is going to be a big one..eeeeeeek!

See you all tomorrow. All the best Tessasmum, Love to you all xxx

tessasmum · 08/11/2005 00:05

[from DH] Arrival of Ash James, 8lb 4oz after very quick home delivery with 2 paramedics and 3 midwives in attendance . I'm sue you'll get all the gory details off Tessasmum later. Mum and son both doing well (they're downstairs and he's having another snack).

Tortington · 08/11/2005 00:44

KristinaM · 08/11/2005 07:07

Congratulations Diege and Tessamum - you are stars!! Welcome Ash and Libby

Diege & Tessasmum
WoW two more babies im very jealous.....Let us have all the deatils when you are both feeling more human
Im worried about beartime now we should have heard by now?????????
Enthusia karma is right about the varacosities
you can also try a pad and pulling knickers up well the pad then gives some support to the varacosities.Sorry to discuss your bits like this!! The good news is it should all go back down to normal after the birth as they are just due to pressure from the head.Ouch!!!!
Weather here is back to wild windy and freezing cold Im sure its going to try for a layer of snow for when i come out of the hosp!!!!
Hope everyone else is feeling ok,right must get nthe kids sorted for school

ChaCha · 08/11/2005 09:01

Congratulations Tessasmum!!

There's going to be no one left here soon eeeek!!

Called m/w this morning to ask her about induction etc..she said that they wouldn't entertain the idea but to see what they say at forthcoming consultancy. She said it was a case of luck as to how labour goes with a bigger baby as position of head/body etc..even though engaged make all the difference.
MIL's sister gave birth to 9lb babies and is very petite so am thinking there is hope...
Very scared at prospect of big baby TBH!! Must have been all that coke!

Beartime, BoB, PinkMinx - No news! Think it's also Jenjam's due date today, hope she's ok.

novadandypowder · 08/11/2005 10:07

Wow! 2 new babies!

Congratulations Mr and Mrs Diege! A 3rd girl - how fab! Loved the birth story, LOL at Diege dropping her fag!! Libby is a lovely name, put some pics up if you get the chance! And 7.11 on 7/11 is very clever!!!

And to Mr and Mrs Tessasmum, congratulations to you all too, what a lovely original name! Cant wait for the birth story - sounds v. exciting! Enjoy your new little boy!

Busy will try my hardest to get tablets off to you today!

Chavcha, my MIL says the big ones are easier to give birth to and less painful - not sure how true that is, but she has had 6 babies ranging from 4-10 pounds

Enthusia, good to see you back - it won't be long now - Promise

LilJ · 08/11/2005 11:38

Just had a growth scan and the baby is already around 8 lbs and not due until the 25th!! The woman who did the scan was almost apologetic and said that if I go to term that I'm looking at 9 lbs + eek!!

So guzzling Raspberry leaf tea and planning on a curry tonight for dinner ... my cousin recommended the 3 B's - Balti, bath & boink, but she went 12 days overdue! Had continuous lower back pain last night and mini contractions so I may be getting there. Baby's head is 4/5ths engaged so surely it can't be long now??

I'm with you ChaCHa I'm really not that keen on the idea of giving birth to a big baby - I may rapidly become too posh to push!!

J xx

Diddle · 08/11/2005 11:50

congrats on all the new parents, last time i came on it was suspected that beartime was going into labour, anyone know what happened to her?

Chacha - thansk for the lovely message, i got all excited seeing your name on the june thread, thought you'd come on to announce the birth have since read up on you, and you have 3 wks to go. Think you should enjoy those weeks and get as much rest as poss, you're gonna need it.

Enthusia - getting close now isn't it, hope all goes well, i'll keep stalking you to see if theres any news. i'll never forget you all. big hugs to you and the family x x x

twinkle1 · 08/11/2005 14:30

twinkle

BEKsmum · 08/11/2005 14:40

Wow, well done Diege & Tessasmum, congratulations on your new bundles of joy and what lovely names they both have.

Hope all new mums and babies are doing well, I've sneaked on here after a lazy morning, dh had Ben for me until 10am and Thomas was fast asleep in his basket beside me after a 7am feed. Now dh is asleep on the sofa with Thomas asleep on his chest and Ben is playing with yet more new toys - god knows what he's going to have for xmas at this rate!

Right best go and play with Ben for a while before I turn into Daisy the cow again. Speak to you all later Beks

beartime · 08/11/2005 14:45

Hi it's me - hope I didn't worry you too much . I have a baby now - Caleb 8lb 7oz. Born at 8:24 on Friday evening. Will let you know details soon - had to deliver in hospital then our internet went down till just now!

ChaCha · 08/11/2005 15:51

Congratulations Beartime, what wonderful news!

LilJ - We are in the same boat then! Let's 'EEEEEEK' together! I know what you mean about the apologetic tone, the songrapher kept saying 'It's a big baby!' over and over again. I posted a thread under the Pregnancy section this morning to ask other MNers experience of big babies..check it out! You are due the day before me btw.

Beks - I forgot to mention your lovely Ben!! I was so besotted with looking at newborn baby pics that I did not go through the last ones and realised that there are a few of him!! He is absolutely gorgeous - you must be so proud of your boys! Well done

Managed to sleep for a couple of hours and not throw up on waking. Missing mum like crazy and being terribly anti-social, keep cancelling on friends and just wishing the next 18 days away!! I do hope he makes a quicker appearance, I am so big and heavy I feel unable to do so much.

Where is everyone? Hope all is well.
