KristinaM · 04/11/2005 20:00

Hi enthusia - missed your cheerful posts today. tho jenjam also keeps me LoL

Hope beartime is ok and didnt end up having to transfer to hospital

Its Eid today so i expect chacha is out celebrating. unless all the excitement has brought on labour

Karma - sorry to hear you and Dp are not seeing eye to eye about the labour and BF. Such emotive subjects - i dont knwo how I woudl cope if Dh started getting stroppy. I know its his baby too but its my body . Mind you he woudl be too scared to say anything in case i eat him

Diege & Enthusia - thansk for your supportive commenst about my friend. I ended up cancelling on her - phoned & told her I wasnt feeling well which is true (after yesterday). But as I was having a tired and weepy day I didnt think I woudl cope with her very well. I might have said soemthing unwise & she is a very old friend.Have rearranged for next week

KristinaM · 04/11/2005 20:03

jenjm - I think the comment for men like the one at the BF clss is " no uterus, no opinion" .
He was really taking his life in his hands being such a smart a* in front of all these hormonal women - what an idiot

tessasmum · 04/11/2005 20:03

This is getting very lively isn't it?

Great to see Beartime online as much, makes it very exciting. I'm not promising to do the same but I will try - depends on time of day and where Tessa is, unfortunately if she is around Mumsnet will have to give way to Cbeebies website at times

Congratulations Grannygoose, hope the shellshock is being replaced by a nice warm glow. Though I just went from giving birth to manic mummy, I look like I'm on happy pills in all the photos

Had midwife's appointment today and all is fine. She has convinced me the baby will turn up over the w/e as she is now off for 3 days. Would be nice to have her here as unlike last time I have had really consistent care and I like her (think I saw 4 midwifes in 4 visits at one point, not the way to instill confidence in a 1st timer!) However she did book me in to see consultant at the hospital next Thursday if baby hasn't turned up. There is a bit of a discrepancy in my due date because when I first went to see GP she asked for date of last period, I told her 'end of January' but had no idea of date!! She made me pick a date so I said 28th which makes me due today. However scans have said either 7th or 10th and that fits in with memories of actually doing the deed so I'm going for 10th. I do feel a bit under pressure now as I REALLY want this baby at home and don't fancy getting stroppy with the hospital, though I will if necessary. Then again a week is a long time on here and I have been having a lot of tightenings over last few days so I'm trying to ignore hospital appointment and concentrate on planning lots of walking over the w/e - another 3 hour hike round Whipsnade might do it. Wonder if they give you anything for going into labour at the zoo

hamster · 04/11/2005 21:20

Evening.....

Just a very quick one to say thanks to everyone, and we're all doing fine!

Good luck to all yet to give birth!
And Congrats to all those who have!

Catch you all soon
xx

Diege · 04/11/2005 21:53

Tessasmum - free entry at the zoo for life would be good!
Thnaks for all the 'Jane' advice - I think we are getting there now, although minor panic over actually opening it up earlier! Wish I'd gone for M&P Pramette now!
Hey, looks like I might make that hair appointment now! (major tempting of fate I know! - if I make it to the salon, I'm not leaving until it's finished, even if contractions start - you've got to have them somewhere!). Getting greedy now and need to wait until Tuesday so I can meet up with old friend on Monday).
Looking forward to hearing Beartime's news .
Nighty night,
Diege.

twinkle1 · 05/11/2005 09:05

Good morning all,
Hope you are all ok and slept well.
Wonder how beartime got on? Hopefully we should here from her today.

morning twinkle,
It's a beautiful sunny day!

ChaCha · 05/11/2005 10:59

Good morning everyone
Congratulations to new mummies and all the best to those who may have gone into labour! WoW.

Has taken a good 20 minutes to catch up - It's v.exciting on here now. This thread has been been such an amazing source of strenght and support from day one of my pregnancy I will be sad to leave it. Hope we can all continue on Post Natal thread in same way.

Thanks girls for your Eid msg's. Fireworks were lovely and had a great evening. Was spoiled rotten and looked after really well (pregnancy perks at this stage are just great).

Well, my news is a lovely water infection!!! Went to the loo at 4pm yesterday and had a feeling that i could have one. Got emergency appt with GP an hour later and he said that's what it was. Gave me 500mg of Amoxicillin and was told that Yes, it can bring on labour but why was I worried as at 37wks am full term and is okay. WTH?!? So, here I am as big as a bus waddling to the bathroom every 10minutes.....do you think these antibiotics really bring on labour? sure hope not.

No news from Bob at all, so can only assume she is in hospital and can only wait for some good news. Enthusia, come on girl!! It's almost time, no?

Love to you all xx

bubbles2904 · 05/11/2005 11:06

sorry to gatecrash but a huge congrats to you all and esp hamster, who gave me some very sound advice a few months ago when i was pg xxx

rodeo1 · 05/11/2005 11:39

Morning!

Wondered if there had been any new announcements? Should hear from Beartime today!

Is your section on the 11th Twinkle? or the 8th? Something like that isn't it?

Lovely day here too, have even managed to get washing out on the line! What is everyone doing for bonfire night? We're off to BIL's for fireworks, he only lives 3 doors down though! Dps family are going and the neighbours. Going to cook some ribs and wedges, that'll be my contribution! Don't really like fireworks at home though, I'll be the at the upststairs bedroom window watching with the little ones! Safely behind glass!

Me and ds are currently watching Lord of the Rings now Dick and Dom (my heartthrob!) has finished, he loves it, but my finger has to hover over the control to FF all the gory bits! Baby fast asleep and dp and dd are at Karate.

Anyone still watching Lost?

I'm bored - can you tell?

Busyalexsmummy · 05/11/2005 11:43

Morning all, we are decorating ds's room today ready for the new baby and because he had classic pooh, which seems a little babyish now. Was hoping to start getting cracking as soon as I could this morning, but dp has other ideas and is getting on with it himself, says, whats the point of me helping as im not allowed to keep getting up and down on a chair to reach!!WTF?? how the hell does he think I manage during the week when I need to get things out of the cuboards and cant reach???! bloomin men, so am sat here sulking....nothing else for it apart from eating a giant sandwich and reading mnet posts!

chacha-Glad your Eid celebrations went well, sorry to hear about water infection, not nice! Im sure the amoxycillin is fine to take.

wonder if beartime has delivered, she must of by now surely!

Off to watch fireworks tonight yay!! love fireworks! hehe!

Liz 38 weeks today!!

veryof you lot who either know when your having bubs due to c/secs etc or those that are having very positive signs that labour is imminent, apart from cramps I mentioned a few days ago, nothing here sooooo hoping Im not going to go overdue again....I think if left ds would of still been in there now!

OP posts:
twinkle1 · 05/11/2005 12:09

twinkle

rodeo1 · 05/11/2005 12:13

Any of you 2 girls going to hazard a guess on whet you're having? Any names yet?

Men eh Busy! Although I'd be glad to be out of it - I HATE decorating!! You're better off on here!

You sound well Twinkle! Are you excited about Fri or petrified like I was ?!

Think I'm going to a garden centre this afternoon with mum, sis and baby which will be nice to look at all the christmassy things. Hope you all have a nice weekend

novadandypowder · 05/11/2005 13:05

Well, a moment of self indulgence here, it's my 30th birthday today!!!!!

Off out for dinner with DH as his parents are baby sitting tonight. Also off to Tiffanys this afternoon to exchange the eternity ring he got me as it doesn't fit with my wedding and engagement ones (although at least I can get them back on now)

Karma - I got the baby whisperer book and it is genius. Wish I had it before she was born as it would have prevented the troubles we're having now. I've been trying to implement some of her techniques already and pleased to say Nat is asleep in her basket

Diege · 05/11/2005 13:49

Afternoon! Happy birthday Nova..Have heard Baby Whisperer is a good one, though I'm happy with Gina Ford (ooh, controversial). Actually read stream on Gina on Mumsnet yesterday when bored - what a cantankerous lot, getting really personal about what is just a book after all! Our own Rodeo dared to make a comment, and I felt really protective!
More period-type cramps in night - why is it they happen at night? And am I the only one who spends more time awake than asleep at night at the moment (aprt from new mums of course!)Lots of gunky discharge too (TMI!). Just in time for my predicted Tuesday labour!
Speak soon - off to much anticipated hair appointment (yeahhhh!!!).
Diege, 38+6

karmamother · 05/11/2005 15:41

Afternoon all.

Well, I almost posted during the night as I thought I was having contractions. From 1am I had quite bad pains low down with lots of backache too. I'm convinced she is in the OP position (back to back) judging by the limbs at the front. Anyway, after the customary big poo (sorry) I thought this was it. Got up, had some toast, put a warm pack over my back & watched telly whilst DP slept. Then they all fizzled out! Still, it made me sort out my hosptal bags sharpish, just in case. I blame it on painting the ceiling so I'm going to do a bit more & see what happens.

Beartime, where are you? Really hope you didn't have to go into hospital.

KristinaM, thanks for your kind words. Actually, following on from our talk I feel DP understands how I feel now & seems more supportive.

Chacha, sounds like you had a great time. Shame about the urine infection. Have you had them before? I find Roberstson's Barley Water helps neutralise your wee so it doesn't sting. Have you tried cranberry juice? It's also excellent for poorly bladders.

Diege, good luck at the hair salon. Was it hair extensions? Best not to tell the stylist if you start contracting....she may panic & end up making a mess!!

Nova, glad you like the baby whisperer. Have seen her programme on DH&H? I really like her down to earth approach & hopefully I'll find it successful. Glad it's working for Nat.

Rodeo, you must be doing something right if you're bored, ha ha.

BAM, enjoy the rest. I've always thought men looked rather attractive when decorating, especially if I'm sitting in an armchair at the time.

37+1

peepee · 05/11/2005 17:24

Not sure if anyone will remember me but for those of you who do, I am still out there and trying.

THINKING OF YOU ALL.

Good luck and enjoy your gifts.

tessasmum · 05/11/2005 18:12

Nova - Happy Birthday, enjoy your night out.

Diege - don't think you will regret the Jane but Busy is right, just keep practising. Our mission for tomorrow is to get the lie-flat carseat out of the loft and see if we can remember how to put it in the car.

No labour at the zoo so off to see if a walk to and from the town's firework display will do the trick

twinkle1 · 05/11/2005 19:02

happy birthday nova
tessasmum when r u due????
It sounds like the battle of the some out there tonight, mind u im amazed they can let any off as its blowing a gale and raining.
We called at mothercare and picked up a cot mobile which dd picked.Oh and 2 pairs of fluffy pj's

karmamother · 05/11/2005 19:48

Feeling a bit bored, no-one on MN. Couldn't figure out why & then I realised you're all at bonfires.

KristinaM · 05/11/2005 19:48

evening girls, hope you are all ok

Like Karma i really thought i was starting thsi morning. Woke in the night with babys head in pelvis - hurrah - this means he's less likely to turn back to breech i think. However i am still really bruised from the ECV so was very sore all day. Dh says I am going blue and yellow but of course I cant see below teh bump. I thought most of bruising woudl be internal? Could barely walk and couldnt stand straight. Other usual signs like big poos ( sorry TMI) and off food. However has all fizzled out but staying in with Ds while Dh gets to go to teh fireworks display

Nova - happy birthday

Diege - did you get your hair done? I have an appointment for Thursday, so will probably have baby on Wed

Karma - glad to hear Dp is being a bit more sympathetic to your point of view

Peepee - thnak you for your good wishes. How kind of you to think of us all...sending you lots of baby dust.....

Twinkle - you are doing some serious nesting girl! How are you feeling about ? Thursday??? Are you nervous or just desperate to get it over with?
