I am curious about how we are all doing with movements of our babies. I am 22 + 2 and haven't felt much in the past week. We were excited last Monday when my DH felt his first movement from the outside but since then, I have only had questionable hints of any movement. When is it that we need to be concerned if we haven't felt anything in 24 hours? Do I have reason for concern? Anomaly scan on 28th of march showed healthy baby with normal growth, etc.

wishwales · 03/04/2011 13:01

Oh, one more thing, we have decided to call our little girl Morgan. The middle name I have wanted since I was 15 (it has been my nickname since then) is Luna but I just heard some rumour that Posh Spice is considering it?? I will be horrified but the other middle name that has meaning to us is Ahava (Hebrew for love).

KLou111 · 03/04/2011 14:34

Happy Mummies Day to all you yummy mummies!!!

Love Morgan wishwales, typical if posh spice steals your middle name!!
Re movement, I'm not feeling a hell of a lot, but had a little listen and everything beating in there. I have been having feelings like belly rumbling before you get......ahem.....wind, but no wind, so not sure if that's the bubba?

Got a lovely gift from my mum and dad for today. Got a lovely mum-to-be mother day card and a Sanctuary Mum-To-Be pamper pack. It's got everything in it including stretch mark oil stuff for before or after, so hoping if I use it now I won't get them!!

Gave the nappies their first wash yesterday, they looked soooooo cute on the line, I even took a piccy, which I'll put up. DH said they looked like chickens!

MrsChemist · 03/04/2011 16:06

Oh a new thread! Marking my place, and I'll be back later to read through.

Firawla · 03/04/2011 18:14

wishwales i wouldn't worry tooo much, because its not like later on when you feel the movement much much stronger? mine is still sometimes more noticeable and sometimes a bit quiet but i think it depends how much your concentrating for it because to me still it's not that strong that you wouldn't be able to miss it if you're busy etc? iyswim? some people only just start feeling or noticeing any movement at 20 weeks ish so personally i am not worrying a lot about it at the moment (i am the same as you, feel it sometimes but not noticing all the time)

klou aww that is lovely all your mum to be presents. I didnt get anything for mothers day, my kids are still too young to know really. I did tell my dh sort something out but he seems to have been too busy. maybe next year eh!

mrs vidic thats so cute your dd chosing babygrows for the bump. i am meaning to take my oldest to do that at some point, but prob will end up being much nearer the time, once we have moved house and sort out what we need etc.

Yukana · 04/04/2011 09:08

Fira Good luck with the flat, hopefully you'll find a new place to move into soon. :)

Jenni It's probably my depression, yes. DP also suffers from it but he can't really talk about his problems, so I try to get him to talk to me when he wants to. I'll contact the doctor's surgery in Churchill and see if I can get a lift up there sometime.

You aren't the only one who is being walloped from the inside! Last night is an example - it was late, I hadn't felt sleepy due to having a long nap so was up past midnight. If I stay up past midnight she throughly has a go at kicking me, and if that doesn't work she'll shift so she's on my bladder and keep doing that occasionally until I go to sleep! I actually find it quite sweet. If I lie down on my back at any point she'll kick my bladder, and when DP pokes my tummy she'll kick back unless she's feeling stubborn. I'm loving all the movement.

MrsStevo · 04/04/2011 11:08

Ugggggggh. I'm SO TIRED!!!

Bump is now VERY large indeed and I just can't get comfy in bed. Managed to grab a few hours sleep here and there last night by shoving a pillow inbetween my knees, not sure why that was more comfortable but it was. Any suggestions at all about comfort in bed? I can't hack another 17 weeks of this............ still, I suppose it is good prep for when they arrive!

Happy Monday to you all, hope you are all bump-tastic!

KLou111 · 04/04/2011 11:47

Sorry you're not getting comfy MrsS, the joy of pregnancy! Is there a special pillow you can get? A friend bought me a 'widgey' pillow, not used it yet as have my Dreamgenii and I still have a tiny bump (sorry).

Well, I weighed myself this morning, and I have put on a total of 12lbs!!!!! I don't know where it is!! I still have a small bump, so am guessing it's the extra water and blood?!?!?

I think it was baby, but not sure, was keeping me awake this morning for a few hours. Am getting a feeling like wind/gas rather than the butterflies I was used to, but haven't had any wind. Have looked it up and some women feel this too. I hope it is bubba :)

Have a great day all xxx

Firawla · 04/04/2011 12:30

yukana i saw somewhere on the weekend that looked ideal so just now waiting to here back from the agent, hopefully we will be able to get it. will be disappointed now if not, but will see how it goes

mrs stevo poor you, hope you managed to get adjusted to a comfy position so that you're able to get enough sleep. i normally end up sleeping on side with an arm under bump for support, when i get really huge. at the moment although i am quite big not finding too much of a problem yet. but i think i am just so knackered by bedtime that i will sleep in whatever position

klou i don't think 12lb is too bad? i am not even gonna weigh myself til after, i'm sure i have put on loads and it will just depress me

wishwales · 04/04/2011 12:47

mrsstevo I found an inexpensive alternative to the specialty pregnancy pillows. Dunelm has a V-shaped orthapaedic pillow for £9.99 which works a treat. For a splurge, it also comes in memory foam for £34.99. And a special bonus is they have covers that fit them in lots of colors from £2.99 to £4.99. I recommend this to anyone. Read about it in a baby magazine and glad I checked it out.

CappuccinoCarrie · 04/04/2011 13:37

Morning all...only 1 1/2 hours and counting til scan We're taking the DCs with us although DS is annoyed he won't be able to touch the baby! DD is worried the special camera will hurt me. I just hope they can work out which bit is which so its a positive experience for them. I'm more tempted than I've ever been to find out what we're having, but I'm determined to stick to my guns and stay in team yellow!
DD had a great 4th birthday yesterday, can't believe how grown up she is, but also can't believe its only 4 years since we first brought home a newborn...feels like a lifetime ago.
I'm also really struggling with sleep, I wake up so many times in the night with a sore side (persistent pain down right hand side really bugging me) and dead arm and needing a wee...there's just no block of good quality restful sleep so I'm shattered all day.
Hope everyone had a very happy mothers (to be) day!

bettyboo83 · 04/04/2011 14:06

Hey everyone, lovely to hear of all the scans. We seem to have more blue bumps than pink so far, maybe all of us with yellow bumps are really pink... Maybe we could add colours to our stats list?
I've had a horrible weekend, my Grandma passed away unexpectedly on Mother's Day which was a huge shock for all the family. I'm so sad because she was really looking forward to the baby and my wedding in December. Unfortunately they have to do a post mortem so no news on the funeral yet Sad
On a brighter note I think I'm feeling the Beanlet now, though distinguishing it from wind is sometimes tricky Blush At the scan he said I had an anterior placenta and I've read somewhere that this can 'cushion' the movements for a while?? I really want a big kick though!
I've got to see the midwife today but not really sure what for? I'm guessing yet another urine sample and BP check! Any clues? xxx

Anu3 · 04/04/2011 14:19

Hope everyone have a Lovely Mothers day!! DH got me a Sanctuary Mum-To-Be pamper pack and the Elemis Japanese Camellia Oil Duo pack for Stretch marks and im soo excited to have my first ever mummies day gift :)

I read your comment about the weight Klou and promptly weighed myself this morning - Ive put on 14 lbs!!!!! SCARY esp when i have approx 18 more weeks or so to go!!! Also been reading that now is when Ill put on the actual weight!! I hopw 14 lbs in the first 22 weeks is ok?

mrs stevo Im sorry about your uncomfortable nights!! Im having the same at the moment and was thinking about getting a special pillow - Not sure if that will help Im going to give it go anyways!

alibaba76 · 04/04/2011 14:38

Klou Don't worry about your weight, I've put on about 15lbs and checked it out on the net and it's very "normal"

bettyboo what a terrible shock you've had - hugs

aStarWithHerOwnWays · 04/04/2011 16:16

Just weighed myself; I have lost half a stone Confused

aStarWithHerOwnWays · 04/04/2011 16:17

Oh bettyboo sorry to hear about your grandma :(

MrsVidic · 04/04/2011 17:01

Hi all,

Regarding weight I've put on 18 pounds and it is normal for me a this stage!

The wind feelings are baby movements I promise !

daisysair · 04/04/2011 17:13

I've put on 10lbs so far @ 21 weeks (lost some in first trimester, but am counting from pre preg weight). it must be all bump, boob and blood weight as apparently am looking skinny elsewhere-ie face.

bettyboo hope your midwife appt was ok. yep bp, urine and heartbeat maybe?? listening to the heartbeat and the bean flipping, allowed my mw to say "did you feel that" and it was a little flutter, but it made me realise what "movement" should feel like at the mo. I too have an anterior placenta, which yep apparently muffles the movement sensations. HUGS for sudden loss too!!! xx

Firawla · 04/04/2011 17:34

bettyboo so sorry to hear ur news

carrie i hope scan went well

i heard back and we didnt get that flat so i am feeling annoyed and still having to look for somewhere else, just wanted to get settled in and feel a bit organised :(

CappuccinoCarrie · 04/04/2011 17:35

astar I've only put on 2lb despite having quite a large bump...I think its fallen off my boobs

Anomaly scan all went well, little babyccino so active it was hard to take the measurements and the photos are quite blurry! Everything present and correct and we were both given a clean bill of health. Hopefully next time I'm in the hospital is August to give birth...! Lovely sonogropher and midwife although they were so charmed by my DCs they spent longer talking to them than to me Hmm

KTisPG · 04/04/2011 18:26

Bettyboo sorry to hear about your Grandma
MrsS I'm with you - having loads of trouble getting comfy at night and then knackered all day. It's no wonder I'm grumpy Grin
Firwla I'm with you no way I'm going anywhere near the scales until well after birth. Much too scary.

Scan tomorrow..l.

OP posts:
aStarWithHerOwnWays · 04/04/2011 18:29

MrsS I seem to have reached the pillow-between-knees stage as well. It definitely helped last time; I think when you lie on your side, the bump pulls everything a bit out of shape and your spine twists. Certainly my lower back has been v stiff lately, so time to dig out the extra pillow.

KT good luck tomorrow! Are you hoping to find out the sex?

KLou111 · 04/04/2011 18:49

So sorry betty about your grandma :(

Anu my mum and dad bought me that Sanctuary set for mothers day, it's lovely isn't it? Such a fab gift :)

Great news on scans. Hope all the lovely scans coming up go lovely and squishy :)

This 'bursting bubble' in belly feeling has started again, really hope it is bubba, sounds hopeful from what you say MrsV :)

LifeOfKate · 04/04/2011 19:53

So sorry about your Grandma, Betty :(

Great news about the scans everyone :)

Not much to report here, feeling movement lots, still can't believe it's another 6 weeks before I go to see the midwife again, grr!

I also think we should put colours on the stats thread, even though mine is yellow :o

neverlookback · 04/04/2011 21:35

ooh just a quickie, what maternity bras are people finding good? im usually 34F and wear underwired but they are all becoming to tight or my boobs are starting to spill over!! last time i got a two pack from marks but they made me look hideous! think i had the same prob with the mothercare ones,
