Ewww at damp white nipples!!!! I used johnsons ones (recommended by a mum of 5 ), and they were really good - never noticed any white nippleness!

Chloe55 · 11/11/2005 10:04

Thanks for that Flame, we have watched a few scary movies recently actually and I am pretty sure he is stressed and worried - aren't we all at the moment

flamesparrow · 11/11/2005 11:06

Just a quickie to let you know that I have started an antenatal depression support thread... here

teuch · 11/11/2005 12:11

thanks flame...I shall proceed directly to Boots!!

Can't believe it is only 43 days (or something like that) to christmas . I was having scary conversation with sis who had been locked in serious negotiations with her 5yo re the Santa's list...she had managed to negotiate it down but it was still going to cost her over £250 by the time she added stocking stuff and a 'surprise'!! That can't be normal...

I was joking that my future children will get hand-knitted teddies and be thankful...

Frizbe · 11/11/2005 12:20

Lol at Sisters negotiating teuch, we tried to get dd to assist with a list last night, so far she want Bob and Balamory....that'll teach me to ask a 2 year old!!
SS on the other hand is 7 and just wants world of warcraft.....argh!

Thanks for asking about me girls, I have no idea what it was, went after about an hour, just intermittant all over pains, rather like contractions, so just assuming it was Braxton Hicks, but that I'm getting them worse as 2nd time around?? bloomin pain in the arse tho, as wanted a nice nights sleep and got woken by pains, rather than dd for a change! pah! Seem to remember I had these a week or two ago as well, so will mention to midwife when I eventually get to see her!

Chole sorry to hear you had a bad night with dh again last night, don't let him eat anything nearer bed time either {{{hugs}}}

Frizbe · 11/11/2005 12:22

Teuch can't remember what brand brest pads I used last time, but they didn't leave any white marks!

teuch · 11/11/2005 12:35

and 'eeewwwwww' indeed at clammy nipples!! NOt a good look...

Tabs · 11/11/2005 13:12

Afternoon ladies. Finally back from hospital having GTT done - does seem to take forever start to finish, and they wouldn't even let us (was another girl having same done) go wandering around in between the 3 tests! Knackered now as had to get up much earlier than usual for it too

Apparently I have to wait a whole week for my results, so guess I'll just ask my community midwife to find out what they are when I see her next Friday.

Chloe - no, still not seen Spacecadet around. Hadn't expected that she would be offline this long when she said about work on house.

TicTac - will post later anything I can remember from yesterday's nct class. Have to go do some work now I guess.

Oh, and my first post from Boots Parenting Club finally arrived - hurrah!

flamesparrow · 11/11/2005 13:16

Why did you have to have 3 tests done??? Its normally baseline sample, and then one 2 hours later....

teuch · 11/11/2005 13:23

gggrrrrr at Kiddicare online!!

i finally find pram bedding that i like and I can't just order it...i have to order over £50 worth of stuff and it only costs £30...

sorry - just needed to rant!!

flamesparrow · 11/11/2005 13:25

How about we all look and see if we can bump it up to £50 between us, and then just post it out when it arrives?

Chloe55 · 11/11/2005 13:25

That's rediculous Teuch, how can they do that? Sod 'em, if they don't want your custom! Is there a number that you can phone and complain?

Jasnem · 11/11/2005 14:15

Teuch - If you want to top up your Kiddicare order, I need to get some moses basket sheets, and would be happy to add them to your order and pay postage for you to send them on. Only £6.99, though so you'd still need more.
I definitely didn't have the wrinkled nipple problem, I thought those pads had a one way lining to protect your skin (like nappies). Maybe you got a defective box? I didn't leak that much though, - nothing during pregnancy and only during the first few weeks of bf. Maybe it'd help if you changed the pads more - at each of those many trips to the loo we all seem to be making!

I finally suggested George to dp last night, and as I suspected, he said no. I might sneak it in as a middle name if we get a boy, though.
The only boys name we both like is Paul, but dps older brother had a son called Paul with the same last name, and I think it's a bit bad giving his parents two grandchildren with the same name.
I am still considering itas we never see him - I've met him once in the past ten years - and he is 19 years older thanmine will be.

I really liked Georgia for a girl and am in 2 minds about George for a boy but then I keep thinking off the the gay George in Rainbow!

Does anyone get itchy nipples? I haven't started leaking yet - is this a sign that it might be coming? I hope not!

3k · 11/11/2005 15:06

Hi All,

I also had my sugar test done this morning but as my hospital could not fit me in til Dec I had a normal fasting blood test at my doctors. She took it out of my hand - thought I was going to pass out at the thought of it!! I dont have good veins in my arms! Anyway, blood pressure has come right down on the tablets the doctor has given me which is great and urine showed no protein!! YAY!!!

Took doggies for walkies last night and was in a lot of pain when I got back, those damn ligaments again! It's very low down and I've also started to need a wee really bad if I walk far. Feel like I might even wet myself although not actually done that yet thank God!

Out for a chinese tonight - yummy then to a firework party tomorrow so have a good one booked up.

Anyone finding they are shouting at DH/DP more? I have gone off on one twice this week at poor DH!! Thing is I know I've been awlful afterwards and feel terrible. My MW said she used to throw the frying pan at her hubbie!!! Hope I dont get that bad although I'm starting to lose temper very quickly!!

Tabs · 11/11/2005 15:13

Flame - had one baseline one, then drink, then one an hour later, and another an hour after that. I haven't heard of anywhere else doing the middle one before either, but it did say in the note I had about it beforehand that that was what would happen, so they didn't just do it because they didn't like the look of me .

Actually had to be stabbed 4 times in all, as I gave them the form for my routine bloods initially, and didn't realise that I had another one in my notes for the GTT, so she took the blood and said 'there we go, that's it', thinking that that was all I was there for .

3K - not generally arguing more with DH no, but we did have row about half an hour ago. He was talking to me like cr@p though, so I shouted at him and he shouted back. Not helped I think by the fact that we are both in need of a long sleep.

Chloe55 · 11/11/2005 15:19

I have found that on some days I have a rediculously short temperature and literally 'lose' it! I picked DH, my bro and his mate up the other night from watching the footie in town and by the end of the journey I was screaming at the all (I was being very unreasonable) just because they were bugging me. They all stayed in the car for a good 20mins when we got home then came in one by one to apologise to me

3k · 11/11/2005 15:28

LOL Chloe. I'm glad I'm not the only one!!!

I won another competition yesterday girls, I won an organic aromatherapy set worth £25 which has massage oil for the baby, bath oil for me, another remedy for stress and another little bottle in which I cant remember. Also got an organic flannel!! Makes a change for me to win anything let alone 2 in 2 months!!

teuch · 11/11/2005 15:31

thanks for the offers to up my order folks, but I am sure I will find something else to buy!

Hellish weather here so I'm having an early finish to get home and comfy on th sofa before DH brings the takeaway home!

flamesparrow · 11/11/2005 15:32

... goin off you 3K

3k · 11/11/2005 15:35

hehehe!! I'm not normally that lucky, could do with winning something more expensive and luxurious though!! The set was nice but dont know how much I would use it.

Jasnem · 11/11/2005 15:51

3k - yes I definitely argue with DP more . I know I'm being completely unreasonable most of the time, but if he dares to tell me that (or laugh at me, which has also happened) then i go completely mad. He has learned todeal with it and not argue back (most of the time). Its only taken him 3 pregnancies! I am only like that with him though. Perfectly reasonable with everyone else.I worked up to 36 weeks with my 1st, and spent all day with 30 elderly people with dementia and never lost it once.

One of the mums at school threatened her DH with a knife when 41 weeks pg, after an insensitive comment!

Chloe - I think you've managed to put me off George! DP also said no to Georgia. We'll end up with another nameless child.
Oh, and yes I get itchy nipples. In fact itchy all over my breasts. I thought it was just me.

flamesparrow · 11/11/2005 16:01

Oh yup, forgot to say. Oodles of itchy nipples here.

I am yelling at DH more - its like PMT but much less predictable . Luckily he learnt a long time ago that mentioning that it could be my hormones during the yelling leads to violence, so he now stays very quiet, leaves me alone (which winds me up more most of the time ), and then when I'm calm and cried out later, suggests that maybe I might like to take some iron

Did you know that you get get away with murder as "diminished responsibility" or some such thing like that during pregnancy and in the following 12 months - the hormones make an excellent defence

TheOriginalTicTac · 11/11/2005 17:00

Hi All, I have finally made it off the loo although not too sure how long for.

Glad you have bough the nipple thing up...I was starting to get disappointed that I had not started to "leak" yet as so many of you seem to be.

Last day of antibiotics tomorrow and I am still rough. I hope I have a miracle cure overnight

My boss has finally admitted that I am leaving in 5 weeks time and decided that he needs to find a replacement...yippeee.
