Thanks for updating Medee am sure it must be last on your to do list at the moment. Can't imagine how scary this has been and still is for you and hope you are getting lots of love and support. You sound amazingly strong, lots and lots of love and hugs to all 3 of you x

PollyPoo · 02/04/2011 20:18

Thanks for taking the time to update us Medee. Little EA is a very lucky girl to have you for her mummy, and I'm sure she will go from strength to strength. I hope you and MrM are taking good care of each other and getting some rest, although it is probably the last thing on your minds right now. Sending all the love and power of the ESH and I hope you three will all be home again very soon. xxx

Casserole · 02/04/2011 20:44

Sending so many positive thoughts your way Medee . I think all the ESH are keeping vigil. Keeping everything crossed that you're back and chatting with us again soon. And I hope BFing goes well tonight Smile

Casserole · 02/04/2011 20:45

ps I feel all lionessy over little EA right now, so goodness KNOWS how you're feeling! Keep heart, lovely lady, keep heart x

SilverSky · 02/04/2011 22:35

Meds totally thinking of you and your wee one. Thank you for updating us. Sorry EA is poorly and hope that the experts get to the bottom of it very quickly. As Score said so perfectly, it's important to keep your energy levels up - eat, sleep and so on whenever you can, though don't s'pose you can for worrying etc. Power naps are the way forward. Hope EA does well with the bf'ing tonight.

Ocarina · 02/04/2011 23:00

Medee I can't imagine what you're going through, and am amazed that you're managing to update us at all let alone sound so calm and rational. Very glad to hear you're a long way from worst case scenario, and am hoping very much that EA has inherited her Mum's strength and will pull through just fine. Hope the BF is a success tonight, look after yourself and MrM (and him you). Sending lots and lots of love.

Ariesgirl · 02/04/2011 23:27

Much love Meds. Stay strong xxxx

I am always admiring of your calmness and stoicism, never more so than now.

PerfectDromedary · 03/04/2011 04:08

Meds I hope your middle of the night feed went well. You're being so calm and brave. Thinking of you and your baby girl.

ginhag · 03/04/2011 08:46

Lovely meds I have crawled out of the woodwork to say we are sending much love and strength from chez gin. So sorry you are having to go through all this worry but glad they are getting to the bottom of things and the outlook is good.

Massive squeezes xxxxxxxxxxxx

CurlyCasper · 03/04/2011 08:47

medee I too hope you got to feed your lovely girl overnight and that she's stronger with each new day. You have a pride of ESH behind you, all sending love and strength. Thinking of you lots. xxx

laurielou · 03/04/2011 09:57

Meds you are a remarkable woman! EA is a lucky lady to hae such an amazing mum. Hope you had a good night & managed to feed your beautiful little girl. Much love & positive thoughts still winging their way to you. Thanks for even sparing a tiny thought to update us too - as Rocket has already said, we are here for you every step of the way. Take care all of you, x

Happy Mother's Day to all ESH's, x

PollyPoo · 03/04/2011 10:08

Happy mothers day ESHs, but especially to Meds. Can't stop thinking your little family. I too hope you got to BF last night and there are yet more improvements today.

maswera · 03/04/2011 10:30

Much love to Medee & family as well from me. Sorry haven't been around but really wanted to drop in to say so sorry to hear this & send you all the hugs in the world. Will be thinking of you this mother's day xxxxx

Ivegotmrbitey · 03/04/2011 10:48

Morning all, hope your night feed went well meds and little EA on the up and up? She shares name with my auntie who is fabulous and a right tiger Smile

Keep up with looking after yourself too, I guess all that cooking is paying off now?

Also wanted to say that my nephew had a tough start and my sister was told the same thing re: milestones, he is now 18 months and laughs over his shoulder at the milestones he has shot past.

Keeping the candle burning here xx

we have commenced nesting here with redecorating the kitchen, it looks lovely but I am dreading doing the second coat today. Do I get a mother's day let off?

Scorpette · 03/04/2011 11:40

Mornin' all. I hope you had a good night with plenty of cuddly feeds, Medee, and that she is much better today :) Extra-special Mother's Day luff for a very brave new mum indeed XXXX

Happy Mother's Day to all ESH! Have a wonderful day, one and all XXXX

The Lad has, by the power of me nagging psychic communication, got TYF to buy me a card and then dictate what to write in it on his behalf Grin There were hormonal tears.

I am pathetic, aren't I? I'm going to be like Ronnie Corbett's mother in 'Sorry' Blush

Medee · 03/04/2011 13:16

Happy Mothers' Day to you all. I must admit that my updating you is partly selfish as your messages are a real source of support.

We had a successful BF last night, from 2am till 3am on and off, albeit using a nipple shield as she couldn't quite get the action right. She then screamed her lungs out for ages afterwards - a sound I have been longing to hear again - with wind and goodness knows what else. I managed to express the other boob, and she settled eventually. She had another small feed at the back of 6, again I expressed a little, and we've moved her to 4 hourly feeds. The 10am was a tube-feed again, but good to know she can do it, just with a bit more practice. Her latch was great before all this, so I know she can do it.

MrM spent yesterday afternoon doing some errands, and amongst them all, missed out getting a card for me, but the thought was there. I did get one from EA done by the nurses with photos of her inside.

We can't stay at the hospital tonight as they need the rooms, but being as close as we are, and now on 4-hourly feeds, think I will just return at 2am and 6am to try BF again.

Casserole · 03/04/2011 13:26

Oh i'm so pleased you fed her Medee , well done (both of you). She'll get the hang of it again soon enough I'm sure.

Such a lovely thought by the nurses with the card Grin

I had forgotten you lived pretty much next door to the hospital - I'm pleased that at least makes getting back and forth a bit easier for you.

Medee everyone is thinking of you so much, all over ESHland. There are so many prayers and positive thoughts and wishes of strength and support coming your way. You will bring your gorgeous little girl home soon, and there won't be a dry eye in the house when you do.

Is there anything practical you need that we could send/arrange for you?

MadameBoo · 03/04/2011 13:42

So pleased to see more updates from Medee a very happy Mothers (mother's, mothers') day to you all.

Muser · 03/04/2011 14:02

Glad you got to feed her Medee, i'm sure she'll remember how to do it again soon enough. Lovely of the nurses to do a card. Any idea when you'll be able to take her home.

Ocarina · 03/04/2011 15:49

So glad to hear you managed to feed Meds, that must have been lovely for both of you. And great that her lungs are clearly working well :)

Orchid12 · 03/04/2011 16:56

Am back from hols but not got much time to post so will try and update tomorrow properly. Just wanted to say a big congrats to Meds on the arrival of EA and that I'm sorry you've had a rough time since her birth. I'm glad things seem to be improving and admire your strength and determination re the breast feeding overnight - keep up the fantastic work and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that your lovely little lady comes home soon.

Take care all xxx

Truffkin · 03/04/2011 17:32

So pleased you had a good night Meds and second (third, fourth!?) the admiring views of your dedication to keep feeding. Am sure it will pay off hugely when your healthy little girl is back home with you.

Happy Mothering Sunday to all, I hope you are being spoiled by the men and children in your life. TGB got me a card with 'mother to be on' which is not like him at all, very cute. Bitey definitely day off for you, maybe you can direct the activity instead of joining in?

Scorpette · 03/04/2011 18:25

So glad to read your update, Medee - she's pooing well, screaming and BFing; that little lass isn't going to let something like this hold her back :) She's strong like her mummy. We did the BFing class at NCT yesterday and the tutor said babies can seem to forget how to latch sometimes during the first few weeks, so it's no doubt just that. She was probably over-excited to be getting your boob after pining for it! I think Mr M can be forgiven on the card front, all things considered Wink Sounds like you two are really there for each other, which is so important. And so lovely of the nurses to 'help' EA sort you out a card

I second what Cass asks - is there anything we could do for you? Have been wondering about this myself.

Have spent the avo with TYF and my family. The Lad put on a proper wriggly show for nearly 10 mins which he, my folks, Gran and Aunt watched in raptures. Family is everything; we are all so, so lucky

macaroonmum · 03/04/2011 19:41

Meds I am completely in awe of you right now.
I am so pleased to hear EA is showing signs of recovery and I'll bet that screaming never sounded so good! An extra-special Happy Mother's day to you and I hope you are all home safe and sound as soon as possible xx

LadyGoneGaga · 03/04/2011 20:51

Been away this weekend but it's lovely to come back from good news from Medee. You sound like you're staying so strong for your little girl. Can't imagie how scary it has all been and so pleased to hear she is on the mend. The latch will come - keep on persevering and she'll get it back xx

So I got THREE Mother's Day cards! One from MiniG that he did at nursery, one from MiniG that he did with his Dad and one from MrG and the bump.

Glad everyone else been having a good day.
