angels dd is 4 weeks now, we got her straight on the gripe water as soon as she was 4 wks but the little bugger wont drink it!

Dd has done some cute smiles (which seem to coincide with her windy bum haha) - I bet it was wind not a smile at your ex ledkr Grin

Right listen up babies, here's fingers crossed that none of us see 4am tonight ... Hmm

ledkr · 15/03/2011 19:39

dh is in a mood now twerp.
Does anyone find there dh/dp reacts like we do ie,i am tired he should not be cos slept in spare room due to exam (my idea)but he is walking around all lethargic and drawna s if he is exhausted, grrrr ill be having a few sherberts tomorrow i think.

40Weeks · 15/03/2011 20:36

Ha ha ledkr I know what you mean, my dh always has some gripe or other - bad back, sore neck, blah blah and STILL moans about it when I had just given birth with a chest infection! WTF, do you seriously want sympathy when I have just had my muff stitched by two women I met 30 mins ago after pushing something the size of a turkey out of something the size of a pea!!!!?? Grrrrrr

40Weeks · 15/03/2011 20:39

ponyo I think I may have put gripe water in the milk when I couldnt get ds1 to take it....do you use a pipette/syringe to give the gw?

wiggles how are the muscles?

ledkr · 15/03/2011 20:42

haha one of my friends was in labour and her dh went round to a and e to get some ailment checked and missed the birth Shock
My ex h got a tooth abcess when i came out of hospital after my mastectomy,he was on stronger painkillers than i was Angry the bastard.
This day has gone on too long, both dd's still up we havent eaten im tired and have a headache.Dd1 just asked about her desert! wtf, shes gone to bed fuming.

ZeroMinusZero · 15/03/2011 20:44

oneof4 thank you although we are still using formula to top up - I'm just not sure yet if DD can get all that she wants from me yet... but I'm hoping it will get better. But you should never feel bad about ff if you've given bfing a fair crack of the whip and it just isn't working because it's so hard when it doesn't go smoothly.

Angels I really sympathise with them being well behaved around midwives and rubbish when I'm trying to feed her alone, it's very annoying.

Just trying to remember what catchphrases my parents used. My dad always used to tell us that if we didn't stop being annoying he'd bang our heads together... strangely he never carried out that threat.

janedoe25 · 15/03/2011 21:18

hi ladies, just marking my place x

tadjennyp · 15/03/2011 22:01

Hi Jane, is it tomorrow you are going to view another wedding venue? Hope it's exactly what you want.

Wishing good sleep to everyone.

Grannyapple · 15/03/2011 22:05

angels I was told by lactation consultant who did nate's Tongue tue that wind is a symptom if thrush in babies..Nate has been fairly windy in bottom department since then...

zero I too am persevering with bf ing...Nate is 3 wks on Thursday & feels like we are just starting out as he coundn't latch on cos of the Tongue tie...had been doing same as you...expressing & then topping with formula. Went to a bf drop in that mw suggested a few weeks back, this afternoon...was ok but basically said I was doing all the right things & that it takes time. He's putting on weight & taking less formula now so hoping he's getting more from me now but he still struggles with latching so I end up still expressing a 3-4 times a day to give him breast milk. Think will persevere for another week & reassess then. Thing that gets me is nhs want to get their bf numbers up & it's best for baby but I feel as if I am the one having to seek the help rather than being encouraged by the support network...hv said she was surprised I was still attempting to bf at this stage!

tadjennyp · 15/03/2011 22:19

So instead of saying 'well done apple for persevering', she says she's surprised? You're doing a great job, sod the HV! Grin

Grannyapple · 15/03/2011 22:36

tad sorry she did say it was 'testament to my patience that I was still at it'....a kind of back handed compliment I guess Grin

tadjennyp · 15/03/2011 22:59

I'm getting used to American enthusiasm, so that probably is a compliment! Grin

janedoe25 · 16/03/2011 01:50

hi tad not got any other venues lined up, been a rough few days here im afraid.

Still no news on knitta, i really hope she and baby are well.

tadjennyp · 16/03/2011 03:21

Sorry to hear that jane. I wish I had the right words to make it better for you. Sending you hugs and restorative sleep.

Bensmum76 · 16/03/2011 08:41

Jane, sorry to hear you've had a few rough days, I guess you'll have good and bad days and hopefully soon you'll get more good than bad.

hubbard86 · 16/03/2011 09:21

hi everyone and come on knitta.
Jane just take each day as it comes and don't feel ashamed of the slightly better or scared of the bad. We will be here to listen and send u cosmic hugs.
F has now decided she will feed every 2 hrs and 4am is her playtime. Dh is being an arse as he complains i'm grumpy and tired but he is yet to do any night feeds. He did the half 6 but whinged through it all. Just tired and cross.

wigglesrock · 16/03/2011 10:28

Have to say Angry at everyones OH/DP etc, they all need a kick up the arse and thats being polite!! Mr Wiggles just floats below the radar on mild irritation!! I do night feeds if he's working the next day but he takes one night a week and does them, although the night he's supposed to do all the feeds is the night she tends to sleep well, think he may already be bribing her with the promise of ponies, barbies, McDonalds, fruit shoots and endless chocolate buttons Blush

40weeks head/muscles much better today, thanks. Got good nights sleep, Anna slept from 10pm -3am, had quick feed and up at 6.30am, so feeling quite good.

My mum has dd2 this morning so just me and A in the house, feels quite strange, she's asleep having downed a ridiculous amount of bottles in a short space of time!! Going to have a nosy in cupboards for anything nice to eat. I'm sooooo hungry recently, know I couldn't eat for 9 months but seriously I can't be filled at the minute, mmmm now wondering where Anna gets it from Grin

Jane thinking of you xx

40Weeks · 16/03/2011 10:55

Jane sorry to hear that, we will all be here to listen and help in anyway we can. Sending lots of love to you.

Have packed ds1&2 into the crèche at my gym and am sitting in the cafe reading the paper and mn-ing while M sleeps in his pram. Is this cheating??

Dh birthday on Friday and what started out as plans to express milk so we could go out to dinner, have somehow managed to turn into him going to the pub to watch footy on Saturday with his mates Confused hmmm, hoping he isn't expecting any maritals this year!!!

NeedToSleepZZZ · 16/03/2011 11:47

jane nothing much to add to what others have said but I'm thinking of you and sending you strength to get through this horrendous time.

40 it's my OH's birthday 2nd April and he is also planning on going to the pub with friends to drink himself stupid. I pointed out that it's mother's day the next day and I'd like to do something that would mean he's not hungover so he's putting it off for a week.

I feel so lucky in that B hasn't had any problems bfing, think he's obsessed with my boobs actually as sometimes he just wants to sleep on them Confused I've tried him with gripe water but think infacol is more effective. I do tihnk he might have a bit of thrush though but need to check with HV on Thursday. I hope feeding gets easier for everyone having problems, I'm still self conscious about feeding in public.

bit worried about knitta, hope she's okay.

slowangels1 · 16/03/2011 12:02

jane I hope that better days will come and you'll gradually get more and more over time. Still thinking about you lots.

knitta - come on Wink

Speaking of needto mentioning mothers day - any ideas on subtle ways to let DH know it's coming up and it would be quite nice if he was thoughtful for once on my first ever mothers day as a mother? DH is useless at these things and I want him to use his own initiative as opposed to me telling him to do something for me on mothers day Confused. It's our first wedding anniversary in less than 2 weeks and I he'll probably forget/not bother with that too...or he'll get me something and claim it's for both ocassions so he doesn't have to bother so much.

needto alices thrush I saw white on her tongue for a day or two but it suddenly got worse by the next day - her mouth was covered in white. Think the med she takes for the thrush might be giving her (even more) wind (if that's possible) - she has done nothing but trump the past day Shock Wink

Back at the gym already 40? Are you trying to put me to shame?!

wiggles I get the bottomless pit hunger too - feels like you haven't eaten in days type hunger and no matter what I eat it's still there.

OP posts:
ledkr · 16/03/2011 12:05

arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh ,what the fuck is the constant feeding all about? D has had 5 bottles since 6am,dh is doing them as i am Angry and tired and im off to races looking fat Sad
I have never had a baby like this, its ridiculous, wiggles what do you do,just keep feeding her? I think she will explode soon.

ledkr · 16/03/2011 12:09

also tres hungry here, and as i have no life and cant leave the house as am constantly sat on arse feeding d its unlikely to change is it? Cant make food sop just pick up biscuits etc.

Sorry, can you tell im a bit fed up.

wigglesrock · 16/03/2011 12:11

Ledkr Anna has had 4 bottles since 6.30am as well, with dd1 I just kept feeding her, I know it is possibly to overfeed an ff baby but she would literally be screaming with hunger!! She started to drop bottles at around 7 weeks and started to sleep right through the night at 9 weeks from 6.30pm!! Its just the way she settled. A dummy isn't making much difference to Anna at the minute, I know D can't take a dummy but don't think it would help. Have a good day today xx

ILovePonyo · 16/03/2011 12:13

Hi everyone, well hubbard I can sympathise as dd is exactly the same, up since 4 and feeding sort of regularly, but been crying during feeds and most of the rest of the time Confused

Think I'll ring hv because her poo was much runnier today, its probably the change from sma to aptamil but going to check.

Shes falling asleep as i'm holding her but I'll bet as soon as I put her down to try and have a shower she'll wake up!

40weeks can you put gripe wwater into the milk? I'm very tempted! We have a dropper but she spits it right back out!

Sorry for moaning post, will pop back in later to catch up properly :)

ledkr · 16/03/2011 12:19

ponyo-still sounds like reflux to me-the crying during feeds is classic.
off to get drunk now and lose some money.
