Ledkr have a great day and have a glass (or three) for me Grin.

Angels I've been finding it really difficult with the housework too. It's hard work! Even when the baby is settled they only settle for short periods in between feeds giving you maybe enough time to wash up/ make bottles or put a wash load on (note that I said or not and) and by the time you've done that they're screaming to be fed. It often takes me an hour, at least, to feed DD2 then I'll change her nappy and cuddle her for a little bit to get her settled back down. By the time she's settled again I've forgotten what I was doing or the phone will ring. I have a mountain of washing the size of everest (no exaggeration). When we go discharged from the hospital DD2 kept projectile vomiting because of all the mucus. We had to change two lots of bed covers in one night plus lots of changes of clothes and baby blankets. I haven't been able to get on top of it since! Show your DH this thread!

wigglesrock · 18/03/2011 09:45

Ledkr have a brillant time, don't worry about the girls, they'll have a brillant time too Grin

waddling Ah the washing, I remember with dd1 I was in shock at the amount of washing she could produce, now with the 3 of them its like a volcano of vests!! My Mum took the girls washing for the first few weeks, couldn't quite manage to give her my and Mr Wiggles knickers Smile

See stick with me and forget about the cooking especially from scratch, that's whats makes a huge difference to me. Angels I make Mr Wiggles lunch for work the night before, so I will not shout at you, or send you over to Dittany on the feminist board ( a fate worse than death believe me Wink)

We are all heading into town later, girls still off because of St Patricks Day to get Annas passport photos done Smile

ledkr · 18/03/2011 09:56

ah wtf?i never made my ds's after senior school either Grin what a terrible person i am.
I do however cook from scratch most nights but i enjoy that and am on a constant fad diet too so thats why WinkAnyway dh eats so much it would take me all day to make his sarnies,he takes half a loaf of bread and some fillings plus half the fruit bowl to work lol.

WaddlingSheep · 18/03/2011 10:03

Grr, today DD1 is off preschool and keeps waking DD2 by shaking rattles in her ear or cuddling her. It's great that she loves her but FGS, LEAVE HER ALONE!!!

PinkiePoo · 18/03/2011 10:04

wiggles i did see the funny side of it as i was wiping the poo off my head. Speaking of which slow i had poo on my head, not carpet, bad grammar on my behalf.....although would of much preferred carpet!!

Of too clinic today.....hopefully she has put weight on and will start the reflux convo with them again.

Also LO does 1 poo per day sometimes skips a day, but it getting really explosive, as in everywhere, is this the norm?? She is on C+G Comfort milk

PinkiePoo · 18/03/2011 10:05

waddle my DP has a 3 yr old girl and she is fab with the LO but sometimes she cuddles her whilst asleep and wakes her up....its soooooooo frustrating. I'm so mean coming between their sisterly love, but i totally feel your pain!

WaddlingSheep · 18/03/2011 10:20

I know what you mean! I feel bad telling DD to leave her as I don't want her to feel left out and I want her to bond etc.

Re explosive poos - yep, totally normal Grin. DD2 is on Cow and Gate! Yesterday she did the most smelly and explosive poo ever! DD1 and I were in hysterics - I took her nappy off and more and more just kept coming and coming. Even funnier, when I wiped her (thinking she'd finished) more came out in an explosion of wind all over my hand. I had to laugh or I might have cried!

varicoseveined · 18/03/2011 11:19

Hey everyone, though mine ended up not a Feb birth (but Jan!) thought I'd pop in while the little fella is having a nap Grin

Some of you may remember he was born 5 weeks early. I'm glad to say that he's gaining weight well, and is now over 11lbs. That's on the 91st percentile if he was born on his due date, on the 50th for his actual age :) Barring the tiredness, am loving having a baby in the house again!

40Weeks · 18/03/2011 11:21

I can't keep up with you lot!

Grrrrr Jane at your fil - is he out of hospital yet? Hope ledkr didn't do any permanent damage (or do I???)

Have fun at the races ledkr any tips for us ?

Housework has become a thing of legend in our house so don't feel bad angels it's easy to think that babies don't take up much time when they sleep so much...until you have had one! Then you know ALL about it. I have told dh we are getting a cleaner. Now I just have to find one...

40Weeks · 18/03/2011 11:23

Sorry girls that are having trouble with the gripe water. Am sure I ended up putting it in ds1's bottles in the end. It does taste nice though!

Great news about the weight gain varicosed I know what you mean about having baby in the house again, am actually a little sad that this is the last one Sad

slowangels1 · 18/03/2011 12:37

lol for me getting muddled re: pinkie having carpet on her head - opps, sorry! and one poo a day - lucky you - we get to change a poo-y nappy at most nappy changes Shock

glad I'm not the only one doing DHs sarnies wiggles, although, I am careful - I don't do them every day or he'll expect it - I just do it when I can be bothered the mood takes me so it's a mild special treat for DH when he comes home.

well, housework today not going so well as just had a trip to the shops to buy oversized clothes for my lardy shape (that'll teach DH Grin ). How many (if any) clothes sizes bigger are you now comapared to pre preg? I'm feeling quite depressed as pre preg I was 16 but just went out and had to get 2 tops in size 20 Shock

40 if you find a good cleaner maybe you can pm me their details (since you're near me)...the thought is getting seriously appealing despite the fact we can't really afford it

Getting seriously concerned re: knitta now - is anyone in contact?

OP posts:
slowangels1 · 18/03/2011 12:39

btw when I say 'that'll teach dh' I mean by the fact I'm shopping not cleaning, not the fact I have a lardy shape Wink Grin

PinkiePoo · 18/03/2011 12:50

Just bk from clinic... Really thought she would have put more weight on... Last fri she was 7Ib9 and today 7Ib13. Its because she is sick. Getting pissed off with being fobbed off now!!

americanexpat · 18/03/2011 12:57

I'm still wearing my maternity clothes mostly but a few regular tops fit now (though most are too short and expose my tummy). I can't be bothered to go shopping, especially as L starts screeching the minute the pram stops.

Yes to the one very explosive poo per day! I started to get worried when he hadn't pooed for about 36 hours then an absolute torrent came. It always happens when I'm changing him in the dark and I stick my hand in it. [vomit emoticon]

Housework - ha! Obv not getting done here.

wigglesrock · 18/03/2011 13:53

Anna does one or two large poos a day, have got really smelly over the past few days, dd1 is not impressed, she's a tad precious when it comes to smells Grin

Well got A passport photos done, bit of a kerfuffle, photographer kept asking me to get her to lift her head and look straight at him Hmm.

Have to take dd2 and dd3 to gymnastics with dd1 today, not really looking forward to it, usually I keep dd2 topped up with biscuits fruit for the hour while she runs around, but feel a tad nervous about keeping her and A happy at the same time!! Waiting area is tiny, not enough chairs and filled with bloody kids Grin

ILovePonyo · 18/03/2011 17:16

pinkie were they reluctant to prescribe anything for the reflux then?

hi varicose :) How much did your lo weigh when he was born? The weight gain sounds good!

Re: housework, I managed to vac this morning but only because dd was crying and it shut her up/drowned her out for a bit Grin

PinkiePoo · 18/03/2011 17:22

ponyo they said maybe wait until my 6 week check to talk to GP. Will do that unless of course she gets really bad.

I don't understand all this centile stuff. LO is just on the 9th centile i think....is that bad?? She was 6lb 10 at birth and now 7lb 13.

ILovePonyo · 18/03/2011 17:28

I don't understand the centile stuff either, dd is really low but gaining weight each time shes weighed so thats the main thing.

Just wondered how you got on because am still in 2 minds myself about going to doctor to request medication for reflux. Hope your dd is ok and you don't need to go to docs before 6 week check xx

PinkiePoo · 18/03/2011 17:40

I think i may wait (if i can) because see what the weight gain is by my appointment on the 28th. If it is still slow weight gain, i will def ask for meds because that means she is bringing up too much milk.

I think you need to be judge on how think she is coping with the reflux...from what i hear, it won't get better just yet so maybe you should just try?

ILovePonyo · 18/03/2011 17:45

Thats the thing, she has good and bad days, sometimes she'll be fine after a feed but sometimes screaming and in pain for a while afterwards. I am Confused Will let you know if I do go though!

PinkiePoo · 18/03/2011 17:58

yes do....maybe just play by ear and keep a close eye...if it gets worse then go. How many weeks is she now?

ILovePonyo · 18/03/2011 18:09

She will be 5 weeks on monday, weighs 7lbs 10 now. Will see how we do over the weekend... Hope you have a nice peaceful one too :)

slowangels1 · 18/03/2011 18:37

Re the centile thing - my health visitor told me it's not the centile they are on that's important, it's that they stay on about the same centile over the coming months (in the first few weeks apaprently they can move centiles quite alot - Alice has gone from about 95th to 25 Shock or something but they arn't worried as apaprently in the coming weeks she will settle into 'her' centile. What they want to see in the long term is a steady weight gain in the same percentile - but I think it's quite early yet to worry about all that.

pinkie my baby book came today and it's quite good. It's called 'baby's first skills' by miriam stoppard and shows approx what babies do when (useful for me as I have absolutely no clue) and games/things you can do each month to help them with coordination etc. Some of it is obvious but has some good ideas.

We were back to the breastfeeding clinic today. L has gained a remarkable 600g in the last 2 weeks and we have decided to actively wean him from the formula top-ups, instead of trying to increase my supply and letting him wean himself. I'm going to try the plan from Kellymom and start decreasing during the day. She also gave me a prescription for domperidone which is supposed to increase lactation.

PinkiePoo · 18/03/2011 21:58

slow whats the book called??
