jersey · 05/12/2005 11:11

Hi mamma3 I just replied to you on your thread. My DS was born on 17th July in 2004. This time I'm due on the 26th I think (still to be confirmed).

Welcome

Straightforward · 05/12/2005 12:08

Hi everyone! Just discovered this bit of MN (am a bit of a newbie)and have been busy reading everyone's happy and sad news since the thread started.
I'm 7+5 and due on 19th July. I have a Dd of 3.5. This time round I'm feeling very sore-boobed, sicky and soooooooo tired I could cry. I'm also very crampy down below. Had a scan last week because of spotting, but all well. However, was annoyed to learn that meant I couldn't have another at 12 weeks.
Anyway, just to say hello to everyone and looking forward to reading more news soon.

jersey · 05/12/2005 13:14

Hi straightforward, congrats on your news and your scan. Welcome to the club.

mamma3 · 05/12/2005 13:29

Hi Jersey, think am getting hang of this now and will stay in this thread (if ok). Due date is 17th July. Had a bad weekend with alot of period pain and lower bachache, was quite scary but no bleeding, THANK GOD!. Am totally fine now though and wonder if it was because it would have been the time of my next period. Any advice chick?

jersey · 05/12/2005 13:54

Although I haven't had those symptoms mamma3 my sil did and she was told that it was when she would have had her AF if she wasn't pregnant!

I've been sick last 3 days, up till now felt sick more than being, now being (what fun!!!). Haven't been sick before with pregnancy.

jersey · 05/12/2005 13:59

Mamma3 in answer to your thread question yes there are twins on both sides, my maternal grandmother was a twin, which is the only one which counts. So will see when the scan comes. See midwife tomorrow so hoping she will have a scan date as she asked me which hospital when I booked this appointment.

I'm on here alot during the week as having trouble concentrating at work between the sickness .

Cwmtydu · 05/12/2005 18:16

Thanks for the welcomes!
I feel so far behind everybody at 6 weeks today!
Mamma3 I've also been having quite a bit of backache and periodish pains this weekend although it is nowhere near when my period would be. I don't know whether to be worried or just assume it's a symptom so I've decided it's probably better not to worry. Hmm, easier said than done. I had no idea that I would worry so much, it seemed so hard conceiving that I thought that would be the end of it!
brrrr I've just been eating haagen dazs (not a craving, just greeeeeed) and now I am shiiivering

mamma3 · 05/12/2005 19:08

Hi to all, sorry just logged on but my fella been hoggin the p.c. . Sorry you been sick Jersey, very sicky all last week but not actually sick but feel tons better now. First scan was booked for Jan [fri 13th] but call me silly but asked if it could be re-scheduled as not a very nice date for a first scan so still waiting to hear.
I never had any sicky feelins with last2 babes, all so different this time but suppose cant be spot on each time. xx

monkeychops · 05/12/2005 19:20

Hello mamma3 and straightforward, nice to have you on board.

mamma3 - I am 8+1 weeks and due the day before you on the 16th july!

I am feeling thoroughly exhausted all of the time - I feel like I have glandular fever... We went to a wedding on saturday in a lovely country hotel (stayed over) and I am still recovering even though I went to bed at 11pm and had a lie in till 9 (What a rare treat!)

Sickness seems to be getting worse and it peaks in the evening resulting in me not being able to keep supper dowm. I think if I eat just a couple of mouthfuls too much my body goes mental.

Have lots of boring xmas drinks parties to go to, which I hope to get out of... my in-laws have one every year and the people are sooooo dull (haven't said anything to dh yet but am planning areally bad migraine that day!) I don't want people guessing and don't see the point of wasting money on a baby sitter when all i want to do is curl up on the sofa of an evening and take myself to bed at 9 or half past... Anyone else dipping out of the festivities?

mamma3 · 05/12/2005 19:22

Hi cymtydu,

Me decided not to worry now either, cant believe its my 3rd and so nervy all the time, so desperate for things to go right this time as with a new man whom is wonderful compared to the abusive tosser of an ex-husband I put up with for 13 years. He gonna make a really nice daddy as is a total natural with children. Reading bout your ice-crem made me shiver!!!!!!!!!xx

HumphreysCorner · 05/12/2005 21:14

Ooh-evening ladies

Great-our party is growing-hurrah! Welcome to mamma3 and Straightforward-congrats on being PG

I wouldn't worry too much (like I didn't-ha ha!) about crampy pains as I had them terrible between weeks 4 & 7-all gone now-phew!

I'm now 10+2 and my scan is a week tomorrow-I have only just realised my scan is on the day my baby was due before I MC-how ironic! Hope the results are good.

Only going to 1 Christmas Dinner luckily and I am driving so good excuse. DH is not having a works do which would involve PIL as he works for his dad so I still don't have to give the game away until I announce the news on Christmas Day.

Right off to watch the Jungle final so goodnight all and sleep tight.

Evening Girls
10 weeks today
Double figures.
Still very tender breasts, no other real symptoms.

Have got booking in and hopefully a scan at Queen Charlotte's on Wednesday. Looking forwarf to it and dreading it at the same time...
If all goes well then I think I will be able to relax a bit more.

Still haven't told anyone. May wait till xmas when family are all together.
Have you guys started telling yet?

And a big welcome to all new ladies!!!

Love,
Dangirl

Cwmtydu · 05/12/2005 23:15

hallo!
dangirl and hc, seems so weird that we're on this thread together and you are four weeks ahead of me -- feels like a lifetime at the moment.
six weeks doesn't feel like much.
we told my parents and dh's mum as soon as we knew a fortnight ago but in a cautious way. haven't told anyone else, i keep thinking about it and then thinking it'll somehow make it not true if i say it out loud. really truly feel like i have made it all up.
haven't told a doctor either.

mamma3, glad you've found someone good now, hope he's looking after you.

mamma3 · 05/12/2005 23:46

Hi girls, sure have got a real sweetie of a fella, so happy now. We have told both parents at mo but is so weird not tellin my 2 kids, 6+8 just incase, just waiting for 3 months first. Gonna sign off now as buggered. See you tomorrow girls. xxxxx

maewest · 06/12/2005 07:56

Morning ladies,

Welcome Mamma3, nice to meet you.

Cymdytu, know what you mean about the unreal thing. I'm 6+4 today and after all those months of getting my hopes up and not being pg, I felt rather stunned when that little blue line did come up.

I called my parents pretty much as soon as we knew, DH called his parents last night (separated, so 2 phone calls and the slightly awkward 'I suppose you called her (MIL) first'). In fact DH seems to be v excited about the whole thing and is bursting to tell (it's our first).

I'm desperately trying to keep it quiet at work, but have boozy lunch next week. Normally I'm the life and soul, so am going to have to do some serious acting to keep the secret.

jersey · 06/12/2005 08:24

Hi everyone, I had to drop out of my Xmas do last sat as sick and my boss who know's but is supposed to be keeping it a secret until xmas decided to tell everyone ! Very angry so we have started telling family in case they hear through other people which wouldn't be nice.

Missing hubbies works do on friday night as by friday am exhausted and very sick so thought it wasn't such a good idea.

xmasspub · 06/12/2005 09:26

Hi all! and a specially big hello to the newbies.
I'm 9+4 today and we've had to tell some bits of the family for various reasons and a couple of close friends know but I'm being much more circumspect than with my first pg(dd - 3)and than with the pg that ended in a m/c in June.
Really struggling to get into clothes and trying not to make it too obvious at work yet!
Actually feeling pretty good, though - have been having acupuncture once a week and though it doesn't alleviate the tiredness it's really helped with nausea!
Lots of chat on here today hopefully!
Help distract me from my work!

IamBlossom · 06/12/2005 09:55

Hi gang. 6+6 today, Cwymtydu, I feel the same that it is all still unreal and not happening as we are so early, but beleive me we are just as pregnant as everyone else!

Have decided to invent a temperature in DS to get out of boozy Friday Chrimble work lunch in London - could go and not drink but they will all guess and I really don't want work to know yet.

dangirl · 06/12/2005 10:51

Well we are 10 weeks +1 and still haven't told anyone.
With my last MC which was quite late at 12 weeks we had started telling and it is soo not nice to tell them about the MC later on. But at least then they understood why I was a bit quiet.

Booking in tomorrow. DH is coming with me. Not just for support but also to look after DD as I wouldn't be surprised if the wait might be a bit long...

Hope all are well.
Love
Dangirl

mamma3 · 06/12/2005 11:05

Hello all,
Thanks again for such a warm welcome :0.
At the risk of sounding a numpty, could you please fill me in with your abbreviations as am s
truggling a wee bit-sorry!
Feels so nice that have all you to talk to as the last 2 times lots of my friends were pregnant with me, but they have completed their families and back to work. I am on a farm so did not go out to work but keep things going here but there is not alot I can do here now and of course lambing time is a big no no now, so miss people alot. So sorry to bore you instead!
Does anyone else find that they speak a load of sh*t when preggie! L.O.L. XXXXXXXX

jersey · 06/12/2005 11:07

Which abbreviations would you like to know mamma3 and I will interpret if I know them .

Straightforward · 06/12/2005 11:24

Hi all - thanks for the welcomes

7+6 today - feel like I've been on a choppy cross-channel ferry for the last week or so. Still crampy - but take comfort in what you said HC.

We've told loads more people this time - think it's cos I'm feeling so shitty and people are worried about me. I'm so transparent and crap at lying, so I just tell them. I hate keeping it from our dd though - she knows there's something going on and is really clingy and stroppy, but my friend told her dd of the same age (3) then had a mc and had to deal with dd's anger as well as all her own sadness. Couldn't cope with that.

Am a sad Billy no-mates with hardly any parties to go to (mostly cos I work for myself) so don't have all that to worry about. Had a glass of wine with friends last night though and got told off by dh for drinking 'more than I did last time'.

Anyone had any cravings yet? I seem to have developed a thing for tinned ratatouille(!?)

heartinthecountry · 06/12/2005 11:31

Hi everyone and welcome to newbies.

I am 7+3 today. Had booking in appointment yesterday which was all fine and straightforward. Though midwife reminded me about all the yummy things I shouldn't be eating . Also told me there is no way I will be allowed a homebirth having had an emergency CS last time (okay - I knew It was optimistic!).

Have told family and close friends - am crap at keeping secrets. Boss knows too as had to explain why I was being quite so hopeless!

Not sure what to do about Christmas stuff. Have work Xmas lunch on Thurs when I think I can prob hide that I am not drinking but think I am going to skip the party.

Mamma3 - if you look at the top under acronym list that might explain some of the abbreviations. Took me ages to figure out when I first joined MN (that's Mumsnet!).

Still feeling sick.....

heartinthecountry · 06/12/2005 11:33

Straightforward - if I wasn't feeling so sick I think I would be having the odd glass of wine... apparently in France women are told to drink a glass of champagne a day when pregnant! I plan to go with that once the nausea stops!!
