Have been dying to start a thread so here goes!

Got a BFP on Wednesday so if all goes well I will be due on the 1st July 2006.

Have 1 DD who is 2 years 3 months and am finally PG again after a MC in June.

Come and join in the fun!

Good news about the contract HC - your boss sounds really nice.

Welcome HITC, maewest and madness - what an abundant group we are becoming!

Try to keep yourselves busy, Kbaby and muppet3 (easier said than done, i know) How are you both feeling physically (wihout wanting to analyse too much)? The blood testing was very encouraging for me staight after my 1st scan with Ds ( similar situation to yours Kbaby with scan being to earlier and me having dates wrong)

Am thinking of you both x

muppet3 · 29/11/2005 16:36

Thank you for all the kind comments. Monkeychops - I feel absolutely fine and not at all pregnant anymore - all my symptoms (which were pretty heavy) stopped overnight a couple of weeks ago. I'm completely knackered, but tbh that's most likely to be because I can't sleep at night.

I finally managed to get a GP appointment, for Monday morning. Am so angry with them for not helping at all - because they wouldn't fit me in until now, I haven't had the option of blood tests and I resent having to pay for private scans The whole experience is making me wonder whether you get antenatal care in Westminster, or whether they assume everyone here is rich enough to pay for independent midwifes and private hospitals.

Thanks for all the welcomes - it's really good to be able to talk to someone, as in RL only me and DH know (ok I cracked and told my mum - she was v excited )

Iamblossom - don't really have any symptoms apart from tiredness. Sometimes makes me think I've imagined it all! Even tho I've been off the pill for 6 months was still surprised to see that blue line - even had to do another test a few days later with DH, just to make sure...

kbaby · 29/11/2005 20:21

Thanks everyone.
I dont have any current syptoms. I read a pregnancy diary I kept with DD and I strated feeling sick etc at around 6.5 weeks. So if I go by my correct lmp then that should be now or maybe next week with my ovulation date.
Ill get the results of the blood test back in a week.
Muppet I cant believe you arent getting any support. We have a early pregnancy unit and they have been really good. I dont know if I should even book in with my midwife or if I should leave it until after the next scan.

Gizmo · 30/11/2005 12:34

Re reading an old pregnancy book last night reminded me that my sickness didn't start until the seventh week. I thought I'd gotten away with it - how wrong was I

This seems to be a really hard stage for a lot of people, doesn't it? I keep poking my boobs (must remember not to do it at my desk again - getting funny looks from colleagues) because the only consistent symptom I have is slightly sore breasts. If only we could have little pregnancy indicators fitted somewhere on our tummies so we could just have some certainty that things were progressing...

jamiesam · 30/11/2005 12:36

Hi chaps

Computer problems at the home, am on work computer while nosy colleague at lunch! He's fascinated by MN. I can't believe it's a week since I've been on here - and still only 6weeks + 5 days. I feel like I've been pg FOR EVER.

Love and hugs to CK, Muppet and kbaby. Got my fingers crossed for your scan/bloods, muppet and kbaby. As others point out, beans are absolutely tiny at the moment.

Congrats to Gizmo on your lovely scan! And welcome to Iamblossom, Heartinthecountry, maewest and madness.

No change here, counting the days till my scan (next Weds), very few symptoms.

jamiesam · 30/11/2005 12:37

top idea gizmo, I'd buy one!

IamBlossom · 30/11/2005 12:40

It is very ambiguous isn't it? You'd think having done it once before you'd know what was going on, but no, it's square one all over again. All the symptoms you think you are imagining when you are trying to get pregnant, you STILL think you are imagining now that you are fairly sure you ARE pregnant.

I have gathered around me all the paraphernalia I used last time too in terms of reading material. Purchased a new pregnancy book the other day, fished out Rough Guide to Pregnancy to read again (very good I think) and bought a copy of Pregnancy and Birth Magazine. My DH can't understand why I want to read it all again now that I have had one child. He doesn't understand at all why I want to analyse in minute detail every single stage and week and the progress......

Gizmo · 30/11/2005 14:23

D'you know, I picked up a copy of 'what to expect when you're expecting' in the bookshop last week and nearly threw it violently in the bin - before I realised I hadn't actually bought it .

I pored over that book last time. Nearly knew it off by heart. But now I come to look at it again a) it's far too cautious for my rather slapdash approach to pregnancy and b) it doesn't give you any idea of how massive the change in your life is about to be. It's like a well informed but emotionally uninvolved health visitor. Mumsnet is a much better source of information and support IMHO

heartinthecountry · 30/11/2005 20:06

Hi eveyone - thanks for welcomes.

My thoughts are with those of you who are unsure what is happening right now or facing the worst.

Have to say, I am now trying to view my nausea as a positive thing rather than just how crappy I feel.

Been feeling a bit crampy this evening - bit like mild period pains. Think I had that last time but really can't remember. Didn't do anything organised like keep a diary! Mind you, I did walk the length of Oxford St today and up Tottenham Court Rd so it could just be my body objecting to the unexpected exercise!

maewest · 30/11/2005 21:57

Just checking in before bed.

Love and best wishes to all of those having a difficult time.

x

HumphreysCorner · 01/12/2005 09:11

Hi girlies

Hope you are all OK.

My sickness seems have got worse again-am 9+5. I also can't believe that I have already had 1 baby as I am worried sick all the time. Bought one of those heart monitor things before the MC and am trying to convince myself that I can hear the heartbeat-not likely though at this stage. ROLL ON THE SCAN-a week on Tuesday!

HITC-I had these cramps on and off between weeks 4 & 7 and it was worse after shopping or standing on my feet at work. Was convinced something was wrong but have had no bleeding since so I'm still being optimistic. ((xx))

Hi to dangirl, spub, lindilou, OldieMum, lilianna, muppet3, CK1, kbaby, wools, jamiesam, jersey, monkeychops, 2ndtimelucky, Gizmo, madness and maewest. (Thinks that's everyone)

Have a good day.

Morning girls
9 + 3 and counting...
Breasts are still tender and the spotting has stopped so I am hopeful.
Booking in and hopefully incl a scan is next Wed. Then I think I will finally believe in it.

HC - you are soo right. I too am really nervous despite this being our 2nd child. I am sure it has to do with MCs. I just can't go through that experience again...(x-ing everything I've got)

DD is back at nursery today after a few days at home with tonsillitis. I have felt like such a recluse here. Must get out this morning to get lots of fresh air (though live in London) and a few things done in the shops.

Have a lovely day all.

Dangirl

wools · 01/12/2005 14:24

Hi everyone,
Haven't been in touch for somewhile. Just thought I'd update you all. I started spotting yesterday afternoon and had a scan at the epu this morning. It's not good news. No heartbeat was found and the sonographer did say that she would expect one as I am 7 + 6 days. As usual, they questioned my dates which I know for a fact are correct, and said that the baby measured approximately 6 weeks so it looks as though he/she died last week. I'm now due to go back for a viability scan a week on Tuesday so I expect that I will miscarry fully by then. This is my 2nd miscarriage so I do know somewhat what to expect but am feeling totally miserable and can't stop crying at my loss. I so however wish everybody the best of luck and will look in on this thread from time to time to see how you are all doing.

jersey · 01/12/2005 14:27

Wools I am so sorry I hope you have someone you can talk this through with.

jamiesam · 01/12/2005 14:32

Oh Wools, I'm so sorry that this has happened, and a second time too.
And you're so kind wishing us all luck. I hope you can have more luck next time around.
Sending you lots of hugs, do come back and see us sometimes.

dangirl · 01/12/2005 15:25

Oh Wools
I am soo sorry for your loss!!!
I have been there x2 myself and had a scare last week. I know how awful it is!!
And so incredibly lonely despite a DP/DH being there.
Please do come back here if we can be of any support what so ever.

Wishing you all the best

big hugs from
Dangirl

muppet3 · 01/12/2005 16:59

Wools - (big hug) I'm so sorry. That's hard news to take. We have the second scan tomorrow morning, so should know then. Still somehow hoping it's just tiny for its 'age'.

wools · 01/12/2005 18:43

Thank you all for your kind words. Muppet3 - I hope you have good news tomorrow - will be thinking of you.

HumphreysCorner · 01/12/2005 23:09

wools-I'm so sorry to read your news hun. Thinking of you and sending you hugs. (((xxx)))

muppet3-thinking of you too. (((xxx)))

monkeychops · 02/12/2005 09:42

I hope everyone else is ok

I had my scan yesterday which revealed a good heartbeat, at 7.4 weeks, so I am due on July 16th - my sister's birthday! She is so pleased!

Dh and i feel very relieved that things are good so far... Nuchal scan booked for the 3rd Jan.

Have a fabulous friday everyone

jersey · 02/12/2005 09:51

Well done monkeychops on your scan.

My midwife booking appointment is next tuesday so will see if she agrees on my dates. Hopefully she will have a scan date for me as well.
