Good luck for today Kbaby. We're all thinking of you.

Hope the rest of you are hale and hearty?
How's everyone doing?
Ps - Great news about the scan, Dangirl!

jersey · 28/11/2005 08:47

Good luck for today Kbaby, congrates dangirl on the good scan.

Much the same as usual here although I'm sure the morn sickness is getting worse! Very tired all time and DS is teething again. All go at the moment.

Hope everyone else is coping .

dangirl · 28/11/2005 10:27

Adding my well wishes to you Kbaby !!!

Morning all, hope everyone is feeling good today..
I have just had an email from a friend of mine who is currently living in Australia, and is engaged. She is planning to marry in Italy (very glam -but more convenient than Oz) and nd seems to be talking about june. Her Email this morning reveals she is looking at possibly 27th or 28th, and is asking for everybody's address so she can send invitations within the month.. This seems a little early - 6 months in advance for invites, but I don't know what to do, I am due for a scan on thursday to reveal whether i am 12 weeks pg or 7 (more likely the latter) and wanted at least to wait till then before telling her. We only told family a week ago, and i am quite supersticious about this. Last time I managed to hold off till 12 weeks before telling any friends...
She wants ds to be a page boy and me and another girl maids/matrons of honour.
Obviously if i am 8 months pg i won't be allowed to fly And would look rediculous as a m of honour! - shall i wait till thursday's scan or reluctantly say something now? I would hate to have to ask someone to change their weeding date when who knows if a pregnancy will progress without any complications anyway, hat do any of you think I should do?

Gizmo · 28/11/2005 11:05

Tricky.

Thursday's not so far away...and she only wants your address so she can invite you?

I'd send her a happy little note with your address and say how pleased you are to be invited. Don't say anything about the pageboy stuff. Then you can follow up at the end of the week with a bit more information, either saying you are definitely on for being a maid of honour (you might want to drop her a hint that you won't be your usual dress size, though ) or saying it's such a shame but it can't be done etc.

Mind you, I have no social graces and the sensitivity of a rhino, so I wouldn't take any advice from me on how not to offend people

xmasspub · 28/11/2005 11:09

Wait til the scan! It's only 3 days away.
Doubt you'd be allowed to fly. If you ARE 7 weeks then your due date is what 20ish July? Do you fancy a long car journey???
If you are 12 weeks then would you just have given birth?
Maybe she'd consider re-scheduling for you? If you are very close friends and she wants your ds and you to be involved she'd re-arrange?

heartinthecountry · 28/11/2005 11:54

Hi everyone - mind if I join you? I usually hide in the SN section as my gorgeous dd has disabilities but am now pg with number 2 and going through all the normal pg stuff. Think my due date is 23rd July.

I am feeling very nauseous......

will try and read back over this thread later to get to 'know' you all a bit.

xmasspub · 28/11/2005 12:14

Many welcomes, HITC!
Good to have you on the board.

jersey · 28/11/2005 13:07

Welcome HITC as well. I would wait as well monkey chops until after your scan.

Any news yet kbaby?

madness · 28/11/2005 17:23

well, hopwe I'm not tempting fate (had mc last time) but want to join you as well. Due date 23/24th July.

maewest · 28/11/2005 18:31

Can I join too?

Just found out that I'm pg with my first. Think I'm due 28 July.

dangirl · 28/11/2005 20:15

How very lovely!! Lots of new mums. Many congratulations and a big welcome to the July thread

kbaby - any news yet? I so hope it went your way today!!! Thinking of you.

Dangirl

kbaby · 28/11/2005 20:16

Well I had the scan but they couldnt tell much. They ended up doing a intenal scan and could find a very small sac and yolk but they said it was too small to find a heartbeat. It means that either it has died at some stage or my dates are wrong and im less than I think. I know that I ovulated really late last month so if I go by that date, think ive calculated it right ie ovulation date - 14 days b4 would give me estimated lmp then I would only be 5+3. They took some blood and i have to go back for some more in 48 hrs. Theyll rescan in 2 weeks time to find out more.

HumphreysCorner · 28/11/2005 20:49

kbaby-really hoped for some better news for you-see what happens with the next scan-rather a long time to wait though hun. ((xx))

Welcome to HITC, madness and maewest-hopeyou are all feeling chirpy

I have confessed to my manager at work about being PG and she was fine and insisted I sign the contract-phew!!!

Nausea not so bad but still there thankfully-my scan date can't come soon enough.

Love and hugs to all. I'll compile an EDD list when we all have definite dates.

Night night

kbaby keeping my fingers crossed its just too early xxxxx 2 weeks is such a long time to wait.

Welcome to madness and maewest.

muppet3 · 29/11/2005 08:33

kbaby - in identical situation here, so lots of sympathy. We're struggling on to the second scan this Friday to see if there's any hope left for this pregnancy. The two weeks is crawling by bit by bit, even if it does seem to go so slowly. Work have been amazing fortunately as the initial bad news hit me pretty badly and I was off last week, too upset to go in. Glad you got blood tests too. My midwives never made contact, and my GP is impossible to get appointments with so I had to pay and go to a private clinic (which treated you as a quick problem to be solved on a conveyer belt of patients). Not looking forward to going back there, tbh, as even if it's bad news they won't explain anything properly. Got sent my NHS nuchal scan booking though that was hard. Can't bring myself to cancel it until Friday confirms what's going on.

xmasspub · 29/11/2005 08:51

Kbaby and muppet, so sad for you both.
I have been where you are earlier this year and it's just awful. They will probably be taking blood to check your HCG levels (apparently these should double every 48 hours if all is going well).
Am thinking of you both and really hope that you get some good news and that the time won't drag too much til you know what's happening.

xmasspub · 29/11/2005 08:52

Forgot to say - welcome to Madness and MAe West and congrats to HC on getting that contract signed!

Gizmo · 29/11/2005 10:58

Kbaby

They had a real problem finding any flicker on my scan too. I don't know much about scanning, but bearing in mind how tiny an embryo is at 5 weeks (3-4mm) it doesn't surprise me that they find it very hard to give accurate dates. My scanner was most insistent that I could not treat my scan as a dating scan, and she wouldn't make any comment on the age of the embryo beyond suggesting that it might be just about 5 weeks.

So maybe it's just a bit early to tell. Hopefully your bloods might give you some more information, because it must be the worst thing to sit around for two weeks not knowing.

Thinking of you muppet, too. So sorry you've not had much support from your GP team.

IamBlossom · 29/11/2005 11:29

Hi Maewest and madness I think we are due at the same time. I is tiiiiiiiiiiiired. Slight bloating and thirsty and need the loo all the time, but other than that, no sore boobs or anything like I had with my first pg. Midwife can't see me till 21st December for booking in appt. Have you seen any professionals yet?

IamBlossom · 29/11/2005 11:30

KBaby and Muppet - heart goes out to you, hang in there. The waiting must be interminable...
