Here is a shiny new March 2011 thread as requested. Hope I haven't missed anyone.

PS Don't try doing this on an Iphone.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
coraltoes · 07/03/2011 18:55

Hi Spilt ! Great news about the scan!!!! I've been thinking about you lately, hoping you'd pop on with some news.

Are you planning to find out if you're having a boy or girl? Not long til your 20 week scan, fingers (and every other limb) crossed for a good clear healthy one!

Strangeways glad to see you stood up to your midwife (saw your other thread). Seems very wrong to suggest she couldn't examine without doing a sweep. My midwife tried a sweep but couldnt reach my cervix. She was wonderful, talked me through every step, took it very slowly. It did hurt a bit though, so I do not blame you for not fancying it, and especially not with a MW who was so brusque!

getting period aches but nothing more. Officially overdue now, but no rush. Brew

JeelyPiece · 07/03/2011 19:02

That's really good news Spilt, it's amazing how quickly it seems you've got to this stage again. Best of luck!

Purplefan · 07/03/2011 19:08

Spilt great to hear from you and I'm so pleased that things are going well for you. Grin

Catherine good on you for telling your boss that you are done at the end of the week... the cover is their problem not yours!!!

I have enjoyed doing absolutely nothing today, apart from school run and a short walk with my dog, the rest of the day was spent reading or watching trashy daytime tv!! It was bliss!!

Have pre-op apt on Thursday and then CS next Tues 15th!!! Feels really strange knowing the date of the birth (well unless she decides to come early!)

Take care all - looking forward to more arrival news! x

pettyprudence · 07/03/2011 20:04

I'm still working Catherine although its my last week too! I can not wait for Friday!

spilttheteaagain · 07/03/2011 20:24

Thanks girls Smile

coral I think this time we'd like to know what we're having. With Bobbie we wanted a surprise, but then after she was born we had to wait 6 weeks for the test results to tell us the gender and that was really hard, and I suppose because of that I'd just like to know as soon as possible this time round. Also so that I can get used to whichever it is is coming. For no apparent reason I've always pictured myself having girls which seemed to be confirmed a bit with Bobbie. So if its a boy I'd like to know a bit sooner so I don't end up mistakenly "bonding" with the wrong assumed gender for 40 weeks and having a shock if that makes any sense at all?! I wouldn't be upset by having a boy (too bloody grateful if it's live!) but I don't want to potter on assuming my hunch is correct and have the goalposts moved right at the end.

I didn't realise they would do sweeps before your due date? Did you ask for one?

Sounds like a lovely day purple, oh how I look forward to mat leave!

niamh29 · 07/03/2011 20:27

Wow Catherine, your due 2 days before me and your still working, today was my first day of ML and I was so happy, I could have worked till this Friday but decided to give myself a break and take the earlier option. Today was my first official day off and I'm like a new woman, I'm more organised that I have been for the last 6 months and everyone is saying how great I look cause for the first time in 4-6 weeks I'm not exhausted!

That's amazing news split, I'm delighted for ye both, hopefully you'll be able to relax a little now and enjoy the rest of this pregnancy.

Kagey · 07/03/2011 20:46

I like this, every time I come onto this thread there is a new baby - congrats Hattie!

Spilt I'm glad everything is going ok and you shall be on ML before you know it!

Medee · 07/03/2011 22:14

great news, Spilt.

Honeymoonmummy · 07/03/2011 22:50

I'm made up for you Split, thanks for letting us know x

I've had a rather stressful day today but I'll tell you all about it tomorrow as I'm just off to bed - midwife reckons I'm 1/5 palpable now which apparently is good for second child - fingers crossed it's not too long now! I went a week over with DD1. I'm still only 38+5 though.

Hattie05 · 08/03/2011 00:54

Hi all

Well you can tell i'm up with little man! Hes been great, just needing feed and i was falling asleep so thought better let Mumsnet keep me awake so i don't fall asleep with him on me.

Split - lovely to see your news! good luck with the scan.

Thank you all for the congrats messages.

And good luck with all these impending deliveries can't wait to hear about them!
x

Lozario · 08/03/2011 07:52

spilt that is great news! So glad everything is on track!

Hattie you've reminded me of the twilight hours emails I usedto send when feeding DS1 overnight - can't believe that's just around the corner again!

38 weeks now and in constant pain with my back and pelvis - feel like u don't stop complaining to poor DH. I'm the most rubbish pregnant in the world! It's agony turning over at night though, feels like my pelvis is going to just cave in or something. Keep telling myself it's cos I'm short, but actually I fear I'm just a wimp!!

Happy due date to Clucky and Polkadottytotty :)

coraltoes · 08/03/2011 08:25

Split- ah my due date is wrong on the table...was due last Saturday! It got moved at a scan (12wks? 20?) but i forgot to change it...but considering i'm over now, maybe the 10th was right afterall!!

Lozario- my pelvis hurts at night in bed. You have my sympathies. Turning over is such a pain! literally!!

superpenguin · 08/03/2011 10:07

congratulations hattie and great news spilt too. :) :)

I wonder if anyone is having their baby today?

I'm 4 days over now and been having spicy dinners, fresh pineapple, raspberry-leaf tea and even occasional sex but not so much as a twinge yet!
Got a midwife appointment later today where I think I'll be offered a sweep if I remember right from what she said last week. I think I will take the sweep if offered but we'll see.

KPidgeon · 08/03/2011 11:14

Just to say great news Spilt

Am with you guys on the turning over in the night- it will be lovely being able to wriggle/ move about again without a 6lb+ weight inside!

TooImmature2BMum · 08/03/2011 11:40

Not to mention being able to sleep on tummies and backs again! Oh the bliss of having four sides to choose from instead of just two...

5 days over now, grr! Midwife coming on Thursday and she'll do a sweep if I want her to.

I watched OBEM last night going pay attention, baby, you have to do that asap! Like now would be good. She ignored me. Grin

cherub59 · 08/03/2011 13:09

Hate to break it to all of you who are dreaming of sleeping on tummies.... If you plan on BF imagine lying on top of two enormously painful melons that leave wet patches all over your bed and pjs!!!! Grin

mixedmamameansbusiness · 08/03/2011 13:12

Just back from MW apointment. Accepted a sweep as was keen to find out whether I am favourable or not. Cervix was high soft but not effaced and she was able to get the tip of her finger to the babys head. Doesnt bode well for the next couple of days but better result than with DS2.

Next Tuesday another sweep and induction Wed/Thur if no progress.

jeffily · 08/03/2011 13:43

Oh I am really, really relishing being able to sleep on my front again! It cheers me up even when I am only just snuggling back down after being awake for 30 mins after only 30 mins sleep.

House looks like a bomb has hit it after friends came to say goodbye this morning Sad, DD1 napping and Leila snuffling in her moses basket, so should use this time productively.

Sending lots of good birthing vibes to you all!

GeekLove · 08/03/2011 13:56

cherub59 I remember the melons. And the lethal let down that could have your eye out at 10 paces.'and that people who make nursing bras don't think you can still only be a c-cup.

OP posts:
superpenguin · 08/03/2011 14:09

mixed - snap. I also just got back from mw appt and consented to sweep. (I'm 4 days overdue today.)
My cervix was "posterior and uneffaced" and she was unable to reach to do the sweep. Oh and from palpating bump, baby is only partly engaged. All of this is not looking very promising for baby arriving any time soon!
I also have another appt next Tues for another sweep if nothing happened by then and then will be potentially considering induction.
Looks like I may have a long wait yet. :(

ckny1 · 08/03/2011 16:09

Mixed and SuperP, sorry that your boys are keeping you waiting but at least you're keeping active!!!

Spilt, am excited for your upcoming months!

Hattie, just from your posts your whole birth and post birth experience sound divine and very relaxing!

My CS is scheduled for tomorrow and we are as ready and reassured as can be, though I'm sad that I won't be preggers anymore and will miss his flipping & kicking AND my excuse for being a round lazy sloth! :) But can't wait to meet the little chubber! Everyone keeps calling today to see whether it's happened or to send well-wishes...hope DH and I can spend a peaceful final eve as a couple together before becoming a family. Am such an emotional blob today!

Hoping our LO will share his birthday with many of his MN cousins, and that some are being born today as I write! Wink

Kagey · 08/03/2011 16:50

No more baby news since I last posted??? Come on ladies, since my little one shows no sign of budging, I am counting on you!!!

That being said, I had my last appointment with my Community Midwife and I felt quite sad that this would (should) be my last pregnancy and will not be visiting the Doctor's surgery and this context again - my next appointment is with the Hospital antenatal team. Baby is 3/5ths engaged so doing better than DD who did not engage until after due date, so maybe, just maybe, this one will not be quite as late.

Kagey · 08/03/2011 16:51

Forgot to say, best wishes CKNY1 for your CS!!!

Medee · 08/03/2011 17:11

Enjoy your final night CK

Jupiter118 · 08/03/2011 17:15

Hattie congratulations.

CKNY good luck for tomorrow hope all goes well.

Spilt lovely to hear from you and so so pleased that all looking good. Keep us posted.

honeymoonmummy hope everything is ok?

Got briefly excited last night between 4 and 5.30 when pains seemed to have more rhythm to them - all stopped though.

Have walked a fair bit again today and consumed yet more pineapple and raspberry leaf. So uncomfy - can't move in bed - is sooo hard to get up for a wee in the night as hips seem to seize up. jeffily Envy at being able to sleep on tummy.
