Hi all,

congrats on the new arrivals and good luck to those who are waiting! I held a snitary towel against my stitches when I needed to poo. It seemed to help. Also kept some in the freezer so they were nice and cold,helped with the swelling!!

Try and enjoy some rest before the babies come - I've never known tiredness like this!

Congratulations Katie I hope you feel better soon. Can't believe how many girls this thread has produced!

I'm still here today. MW attempted sweep today but cervix still very posterior & it hurt too much meaning she had to stop Feel disappointed firstly that labour doesn't seem imminent & second that I didn't try to ignore the pain for longer before saying something.

They are going to try again Tuesday before induction Friday. Had a long walk this morning to see if that would help but all its done is tire me out. Hope there is more good news soon from those still waiting, particually those who are overdue and fed up!

Happy due date to me! Nothing whatsoever happening though.. had an enormous hot curry last night then a mountain of pineapple- it just made me feel sick and gave me heartburn- which meant that my hubby was saved having to have sex (he's really worried about hurting me or the baby- so this is so not an option)

Hang on in there ladies who've been patient- haloflo etc. Any tips on how to be patient now gratefully received!

Guess we're going to have to fill in the census without our LOs being on there!

Hi all, just a quick update - I had a baby girl this afternoon at 3.03pm and weighing a whopping 9lbs 5oz. It didn't go the way I'd planned but I now have a snoozy baby lying next to me. No settled name just yet.

Well we're off to hossie this morning to the post- dates clinic. Will get an induction date I expect, and a sweep. I'm so tired, had a terrible nights sleep last night and am really fed up of the "any news?" texts!! All I want is a good nights sleep - and that's outta the window for the next year now! Urgh I'm so moody this morning!

Will check in later to tell u what the hossie says. (probably "yes you're going to be pregnant FOREVER".....)

Congrats kagey that is brillant news. Sorry it didn't go the way you hoped.

Sorry I missed your due date Kpidgeon Noone is due today so hopefully that means some babies will appear. I've not been great going overdue. One minute I feel fine, others overly emotional - my poor DP!

All I can suggest is having one thing to do each day and getting plenty of rest. For example today I will complete the census form (was saving it in case baby arrived - oh well) and pop to town for a mothers day card & present (I live very near a town centre so this is a small job) The rest of the day I will rest, watch a dvd and/or nap. There is nothing we can really do to encourage our babies out (I don't really buy into the old wives tales and can't face sex with my hideous rash) Try to forget the date or how many days late you are and ask your friends/family not to bother you for news (if it annoys you - it makes me feel under pressure.) You will not forget to let them know! I don't mind "thinking of you" texts - in fact I quite like them. (See what I mean about being difficult to please?!)

The only good thing about being overdue is scaring people in shops when they ask about the baby. Mention you are past your due date and you get a terrified look as if you are going to go into labour there and then.

Lozario Lol the hospital telling you that you are going to be pregnant forever - it feels like it doesn't it. Hope the appointment goes well. Although I didn't get on with my sweep yesterday it seems to have encouraged me to lose a little more of my plug and I got to hear the baby's hb beating happily away.

No worries halo just glad for some company on here!

Thanks for your tips- as I said, really glad there are a few of us still on here. I'm devouring books at the moment. So glad I've got a stack of them ready that are not too demanding. At least the sun has been shining for us eh.

Had a bit of a horrid morning- some waters broke this morning at 5.30am and had some cramping- and there was blood in the waters (though no mucus show) so went to hospital and was monitored- they said no more waters were coming out so to go back home and sit it out. No contractions so now just waiting again! Really hope it's a sign that things are moving. Baby is fine though so that's good.

yep I was holding out on the census too - grrrr. I also have things planned on a daily basis to help the time go, but I haven't watched half as much day time tv as I anticipated :)

Baby seems to be moving further into my ribs rather than downwards even though i keep drawing arrows on my belly with my fingers to show baby where the exit route is. Baby is being willfully ignorant.

Sounds like KPidgeon might be the next to make an announcement!

I'm still here, two days until due date and starting to get fed up! Nesting didn't stay very long as I'm now sick of cleaning and can't do much physically as get tired too quickly anyway.

Baby seems to have pivoted on it's head and bum is now on the left and what I think is a knee and foot keep poking out on the right. Very bizarre!

I've had period type pains since Saturday night but nothing major. I'm not liking this 'limbo' malarkey and really like to meet the little one now! I'm trying hard to not think that I could quite possibly have another two weeks left

Just for info- my "show" has just been like a little period- no jelly at all and no plug so I think it's different for everyone (well, so far).

In no more than 2 weeks we will all have our babies ladies- we can do it!

Just checking in - hossie was ok this morning, sweep fine, she said my cervix was still high but was 1cm dilated so something has happened at least. I have had a show just as KPidgeon describes - like the gross end of a period! One contraction after the sweep but that was it. Have had a nap and then a long walk this arvo. Back to hossie on Wednesday for another sweep unless anything happens first!

Was gutted to find this baby is back to back again though :-( Will therefore be rolling around on the birthing ball in front of OBEM this eve then...

Hang in there ladies - I miss the busyness of this thread also. I was v fed up of the waiting so if you want to be grouchy you have every right.

Baby Emilia is doing well so so cute. Doing a mixture of breast and bottle - bottles in thd evening and she is sleeping pretty good.

I am really struggling with the stitches though. MW came today and they are a bit infected - just the ones near the surface though so now have antibiotics and instructions to take salt baths twice daily. Hope you escape this!!! My only prep tip just in case is to trim downstairs (ESP long straggly hairs ) as easier to keep clean (stitches or not).

Sending labour vibes to you all in triplicate - waking the dead - recording OBEM!!

We're all getting a bit impatient now aren't we. Some promising signs though - KPidgeon do they plan to induce you in the next couple of days now your waters have leaked?

I'm ten days over now and resigned to having to be induced on Wednesday. So odd knowing that tomorrow is my last day (assuming I don't go into labour tonight, but don't feel hopeful). Have asked DH for a last supper of macaroni cheese! Am going to concentrate on getting the house as clean as I can, we've done all the big jobs but I want the hoovering etc all up to date so we can bring the baby home to a nice clean house...

Hope your infection clears up Jupiter.

Lavender oil soak help alot...to prevent infection try it. And wash all the time i use to inbetween changing pads aswel.

Hello everyone, congrats Katie!

Hope all the awaiting mothers arent too impatient, lord knows I was terribly impatient the few days before Mya was born.

Here's a short birth story: started having pains around 12am Friday morning, they were about 10 mins apart, by 3:30 they were 6/7 mins apart and I phoned the hospital, when they checked me I was only 1cm dilated, they still admitted me and I tried walking about to get things moving, by 9:30am I was in a lot of pain but contractions were still irregular and I was still on 1cm but had some pethidine so I could rest. I only got to 4cm by 2pm and was very disheartened, I got an epidural cause the pain was getting to me, the epidural was brilliant, no pain but I could feel lots of pressure so I still knew what was going on with my body. I went from 4-10cm relatively quickly considering how slow things had been going up till then. My pushing stage was very quick and I was very proud of myself cause my pushing was very effective, the midwives were brilliant! I ended up being cut because she got stuck with her head half out for about 20 mins but once I was cut she flew out and that was 40 mins after starting pushing.

She's doing really well and I'm fine except for some (sorry for TMI) wee leakage, but hopefully that will sort itself out in a couple of days (fingers crossed!!)

I think my waters have broken!! Just felt and urge like discharge coming out and got wet knickers!!!

I second the use of lavender. I put the oil in my bath in the morning. It's also supposed to aid sleep too.
Right now Michael is a greedy baby who has just woken up. He looks like a more robust version of his older brother - hardly suprising since he has nearly 2lb on him.
My sympathies to all you overdue mummies. I'm not sure id being physically active helped shake him out but it was a distraction at least considering Michael was 20m away from being 40+10.

And for all those overdue, hope things get moving soon, I would have gone insane if I'd been overdue. I am very impatient!

Well I woke up early, with a slight headache and backache. Changing position didn't help so ended up getting up around 5.30. Persistent achey back and twinges in lower tummy combined with nausea and diarrhoea (sorry), I thought things were starting albeit in a very early stage.

However! I still have a dull achey back and few twinges in tummy now and again, but nothing more.

I know no-one knows for sure if this may be the start, but I'm hoping it is. I'm taking it all as good signs that my body is getting ready.

I'm due today but just letting you know that nothing has happened yet. To be honest, I suspect I'll run quite overdue as I still feel completely normal - no twinges and I'm still mobile.
