PS Don't try doing this on an Iphone.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
haloflo · 21/03/2011 10:22

Huge congrats to Highlandgirl

Happy due date Jupiter I really hope this is the sweep that does the trick. Thats awful that you were made to feel that you were wasting the time of the MW's, you did the right thing. I hope the flashing lights disappear soon.

jojo I hope your feelings are right!

Eva All the best for this morning.

me23 I can't imagine how you feel but I am thinking of you and Ethan. He is in the best place. Take care of yourself.

1Catherine1 · 21/03/2011 11:50

Happy due date Jupiter! I bet you must be fed up - so many issue and unsympathetic midwives Hmm

Good luck with your cs Eva - we look forward to your update :)

Jojo I'm glad you're still enjoying it and I think I probably would be if it wasn't for the fact I know my ML is only 18 weeks and I would love to spend 17 weeks of that with my LO rather than waiting for her to arrive and losing 2 weeks.

Well due date passed with no news - my contractions from Saturday night/Sunday morning stopped with me falling asleep at 5am and waking up to nothing. Felt quite disheartened and it threw my sleeping pattern right out the window so that I was wide awake this morning at 3am when they started again. They managed to keep me up till 6am this morning and wake me before 9am so I'm pretty exhausted today. I'm pretty sure now that they're just BH contractions rather than real ones :( since they appear quite regularly if relaxing (imagine my excitement when they were every 7 minutes) - lay down or sat on the sofa but right now while sat at the kitchen table nothing at all. Angry not fair really as that means I can't go back to sleep without them starting off again but I'm too tired to do anything else!

Random bit of useless information (for fun only as personally I don't believe you can categorise all people into 12 groups) - today is the first day of Aries rather than Pisces. I was hoping that my LO would be a Pisces rather than an Aries as her father is an Aries and his impulsiveness and impatience is definitely his most difficult traits to live with. :) Aries traits include - Adventurous and energetic, Pioneering and courageous, Enthusiastic and confident, Dynamic and quick-witted and on the dark side - Selfish and quick-tempered, Impulsive and impatient, Foolhardy and daredevil.

Medee · 21/03/2011 13:51

Afternoon all. Had the sweep and my cervix is doing all the right things, so keep fingers crossed it all works. Discussed the induction processes and effectively I get admitted on Thursday, so really hoping to avoid that.

LovelyKatie · 21/03/2011 15:01

Hi all
Hope everyone is well

11th day today. Everything is fine with the baby have to go back in Thursday for another assessment and then Friday is the big day! 7.30pm

So hopefully I'll go before then but I do feel better that I now have a date.

Have to catch up on corrie at the weekend ha!!

X

Honeymoonmummy · 21/03/2011 16:11

Hi all, I'm afraid I've not read back but I'm still around! Now 5 days over, had a sweep last fri when I was 1cm dilated and could stretch cervix, bishops score of 6, then a bloody show on Saturday and nothing but occasional dull ache since then Hmm Have been trying to stay active. My DD started 5 days late and came 36 hours later so I just appear to cook them for longer.

angelbabe1982 · 21/03/2011 17:48

Hi everyone - hope no-one is getting too far overdue! Been reading all your stories up till last week when laptop broke :(
Just posting that Emily Elizabeth was born at 0130 on 18 March. Was quite quick, G&A, morphine and some new pain relief med - Remi-something,can't remember. Was a much better birth than with DS. :)

TooImmature2BMum · 21/03/2011 17:50

Me - I hope baby Ethan is doing much better. Fingers crossed for you and him!

Spilt, your message was lovely, thank you very much. I got DH to read it too and he appreciated it as well.

Things are going okay, in a surreal sort of way. My family have been around a lot, which has helped me, anyway - I think poor DH enjoys them for a bit and then starts to feel the strain of acting normal. He's started cycling and the exercise seems to be helping, particularly with sleeping. I want to be able to start getting back in shape too - I want to go into a new pregnancy as fit and healthy as I possibly can, but at the same time, I know I'm not physically ready for strenuous exercise just yet - my SPD is still making itself felt, for one thing. I hope it goes away soon! I have polarised feelings about a lot of things, but not that one. I mean, I have polarised feelings about things like my tummy going down, and my milk having come in - part of me wants my tummy to go down faster and my boobs to stop leaking, but another part doesn't, because that would mean it's over and I've lost another of the things that link me to pregnancy and Thea. I still can't really believe she's gone.

niamh29 · 21/03/2011 18:21

Tooimmature: my heart goes out to you and I just can't begin to imagine the pain you are going through, I can appreciate how in one way you don't want your body to go back to normal, this will be my last pregnancy and I want to savour the last moments of it but I'm so eager to have the baby out safe that I can't.

niamh29 · 21/03/2011 18:22

Congrats angelbabe, glad to hear your labour went well and you and baby are good, beautiful name too!

mixedmamameansbusiness · 21/03/2011 18:28

Am about to catch up _ hopefully!!!!

But baby boy EMIR finally arrived at 1.26am on Saturday. After a slow induction estblished labour to delivery was 1 hour 39 mins. Managed on gas and air which was what I really wanted this time.

He is adorable 8lb 7 oz feeding well although today seemed to just want to feed all day long.

DS1 and DS2 absolutely doting on him.

niamh29 · 22/03/2011 03:47

So it's 3 hours into my due date (happy due date to me) and I'm wide awake with a headache and sore throat (have obviously picked up DH's cold......grrrrr) so I'm waiting for the panadol to kick in so I can get back to sleep.
So for the past 24-36 hours I've been having lots of BH, strong ones with or without pain and have also been quite constipated (sorry TMI) could mean nothing but I'm trying desperately to read something into it.

Mixedmama: congrats on your little boy, hope ye are both well!

angelbabe1982 · 22/03/2011 09:07

Just caught up on here. Im so sorry Tooimmature, words arent enough :(

pettyprudence · 22/03/2011 09:38

i haven't had any braxton hicks - does this mean that once i finally feel something its likely to be real contractions or can i still be duped? In the daytime I am quite happy for baby to stay put another few weeks but when I am woken in the night/mornings I just want him/her OUT NOW. I just want to sleep comfortably again, even if the sleep is fleeting!

StrangewaysHereICome · 22/03/2011 10:49

Many congratulations mixed have been thinking about you. It sounds like you got the birth you wanted in the end Smile. Well done.

Good luck to everyone still waiting abd congratulations to th arrivals I have missed x

1Catherine1 · 22/03/2011 11:01

niamh I have been having that for a few days now and I'm absolutely exhausted - I can barely get any sleep! Mum has told me to phone the midwife but idk what exactly I'm supposed to say to her. I'm so tired and can't get back to sleep. Been googling away over the past 3 days and it keeps coming up as it being early labour but it then says that it could last for days - idk if I can manage this lack of sleep for days and then give birth! :(

Happy due date to those due today and congrats to all the new arrivals! I have read all the posts but brain not working enough to mention names.

Jupiter118 · 22/03/2011 12:30

Happy due date Niamh and others and congrats to new arrivals. I forced myself out of my misery yesterday and Danes furiously - it must gave worked as waters went at 6.30am and now contracting about every 6/7 mins and admitted to ante natal ward in hospital because of history and concerns re blood pressure. Hurrah!!! Contractions smart a bit though no doubt will be offered some paracetemol shortly;-) will hopefully get something stronger later.

Hope others with promising signs Make quick progress!!

Jx

sittinghippo · 22/03/2011 12:39

Congratulations angelbabe and mixedmamma. See you on the other thread!

I cant believe a whole week has gone by already, it goes by in such a blur.

sittinghippo · 22/03/2011 12:43

tooimmature you are in my thoughts daily, I am so glad you have the support of your family at what must be the toughest time of your life.
Thank you for keeping in touch with us, we are all thinking of you and Thea. xxx

JeelyPiece · 22/03/2011 12:49

Good luck Jupiter, hope to hear some news tomorrow!

I'm now four days past my due date, cramping mildly on and off for the last week so not taking that as a promising sign any more. No plug, no bloody show, nothing. DH is continually convinced it's about to happen but I can't live at that level of excitement so keep telling myself it's not, hope that's not having the effect of slowing things down! My feet are really swollen so getting BP checks 3 times a week now but that's fine so far.

Just fed up waiting and so want to avoid getting to next Wednesday when my induction's booked.

TooImmature my thoughts are with you.

chickiewoo · 22/03/2011 14:15

Hi all - just checking in and updating. Congratulations to all the new arrivals and good luck to those who are still waiting! Saw midwife today and all is well (39+1). Am booked for ELCS tomorrow morning at 9.00 a.m. - still can't quite get my head around the fact that tomorrow our baby will be here - seems quite surreal really - especially after the worry and complications in early pregnancy. So, the plan is a family meal at parents tonight, DS (now 5) will have a sleepover there and a day off from school tomorrow. My parents will bring DS to the hospital tomorrow afternoon to meet his new baby brother or sister! I'm afraid my mobile phone is very basic, so will not be able to share our news until probably the weekend, when I hope to be back at home and able to go online! Take care all, will be thinking of you, please say a prayer for me tonight and look forward to catching up on this and the other thread in a few days time. Much love xxx

Lozario · 22/03/2011 16:27

chickiewoo good luck for tomorrow, you must be very excited! How nice to have a definite date. All the best :)

JeelyPiece I'm the same, having cramps as I type but just ignoring them as I've had them every afternoon for the last week now! My due date is tomorrow so I have potentially another 2 weeks of this :(

Congrats angelbabe and mixed, smashing news!

pettyprudence I think some people just don't have BH. Or do, but don't notice them. Hopefully you'll have the baby just as gently if you are one of those people!!

catherine is Aries a Fire sign? If so, I'm in trouble, I'm a Leo and one fire sign is enough!!! Especially if my suspicions are right and this baby is a girl!!

Well I went to the midwife this morning and she said that baby is fully engaged, cervix slightly open (but that's usual for second or subsequent babies) and she reckons I'll start in the next 48 hours. Which was very kind of her to say but I can't say anything feels imminent!!! Also I remember getting so excited first time around when she said something similar and then it was AGES. However, I saw the acupuncturist this arvo so maybe that will get things moving - I've always had a feeling that I'd have this baby on the due date (tomorrow) and it would be a girl - so let's see! I'm so sick of waking every hour and a half because of discomfort/weeing etc - at least with a baby to feed there's something to do!!!

niamh29 · 22/03/2011 17:33

Good luck Jupiter and chickie! Hope your babies will be out safe and sound soon!

My due date passed miserably, I spent most of it in bed trying to sleep off this cold but at least the weather is nice so I'm outside with DD1&2 now. I got a swarm of texts asking had I popped yet, as if I'm going to keep it a secret if I do.

Lozario · 22/03/2011 17:44

niamh29 it's funny isn't it, I've started getting messages, as if I'm not going to bother telling people when it happens - my brother texted yesterday and I was like, "um, yes I would have let you know if anything had happened! You are my brother?!" lol

edeluna · 22/03/2011 17:48

Just stopping by quickly to announce the arrival of our daughter Sabine on Sunday, 20 March at 9.28am, weighing 7lb.

My waters went Friday around 10pm. A long, very uncomfortable process and attemps at induction saw me only 2cm dilated 36 hours later. Baby was high up and given the slow progress and further complications of my fibroids, we were advised that a cs would be best route. Still incredibly sore and not very agile but absolutely delighted to finally be holding our daughter. She's just so beautiful!

Hope everyone else is doing well. Good luck to those still waiting!

KPidgeon · 22/03/2011 19:16

Congratulations edeluna- lovely name. Hope your soreness goes soon. Enjoy your first days with your little daughter!

Congratulations to mixedmama too.

So eager to be there myself-maximum 3 weeks to go so I have to be patient, I know.

Congratulations to anyone I may have missed.

pettyprudence I'm due on Sunday and have had no braxton hicks in the pregnancy either. I know from my scan 2 weeks ago that the baby is about 8lbs now so I'm feeling pretty breathless and heavy- he doesn't have much room to move now so I hope I don't go on until 42 weeks!

Chickiewoo and Jupiter all the best for both of you. Looking forward to some updates!

Catherine hope your hanging in there. Or that things are moving for you... thanks for the heads up that we are now having Aries babies from now on! Don't know much about them- husband and I are both Taureans so will go look up Aries traits again now.

Anyone see OBEM yesterday? I've been worrying about that poor girls teeth (or lack of) all day.
