Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
KPidgeon · 10/03/2011 10:00

Wow, loads more babies in the world- congratulations to you all on your arrivals.

Evian- all the best for tomorrow. Lovely to think that your LO will be with you by tomorrow evening.

Strangeways I hope things are progressing well for you!

I had a scan yesterday to check which way round the baby was as the MW couldn't tell. Luckily he is head down- just kicking sideways which was confusing us all. Such a bonus being able to see him one more time before he enters the outside world. The scanning lady said he's 7lb 4oz now so she's predicting a 8lb baby (am 37+4 days).. still feel like I'm a long way off giving birth but sending all you due date ladies good vibes and wishing you all the best.

1Catherine1 · 10/03/2011 10:18

Happy due date EvianBaby, Coraltoes, GeekLove, Sevenbubbles, Mama2LeahandAisha and LovelyKatie. Looking forward to more announcements from you lot and definitely those of you who are overdue.

I sympathise with those who feel like they're on a complete emotional rollercoaster atm, I think the fact I'm still working isn't helping but last night I was in tears for a good few hours on and off and as a result I'm not feeling my best today. Obviously the fact my OH hadn't washed up was really worth me crying for that long and telling him not to bother coming home Blush Now I'm sure you lot understand my unreasonableness but my poor OH is completely baffled. Looking forward to Friday evening!!!

KPidgeon · 10/03/2011 10:23

Catherine you'll feel so much better and on top of things when you stop work. Not long now!

I totally understand the crying at washing up..

Am faffing about on mumsnet putting off re-commencing my packing for our move. Must get on..slowly..!

RockChick1984 · 10/03/2011 10:57

Don't worry Catherine my dh got home from work a couple of days ago and I burst into tears as he walked in - only explanation I could give him was "I missed you today" which completely confused him, he works 8-4.30 so not a really long day or anything, and I'd only got up at lunchtime so had only really been a few hours since I saw him!!!

I'm feeling all frustrated today, was having irregular contractions yesterday but they were feeling very different to my braxton hicks, slightly taking my breath away. No pattern to them, had gaps betweens them of anything from 5 mins to 30 mins, but I was hoping that meant they might start getting more frequent. Have got up this morning and they have stopped again! Anyone else had anything like this? I had a show on Tuesday, so hoping things will start soon! I'm 39 weeks tomorrow and dreading the idea of (potentially) 3 more weeks of all this!

EvaLongoria · 10/03/2011 11:05

Hi All

I officially cant deal with my laptop anymore. My eyes hurt way too much and normally I use my phone but just could not be bothered to deal with pain

I cant believe I missed out on so many babies. Glad to hear that the boys are coming on steadily now.

Congrats Jenchandler, spaceal, Bluebeach, Lauzifer on your girls.
Congrats Carrie First Boy well done and what a whopper. Also congrats to Larty, Hattie and am988 on your boys.

Nowpanic and Tooimmature Mice, I read somewhere can be quite dangerous around pregnant people. Only reason I looked it up 2 days ago was because my SIL dropped some babystuff here cos they moving house and literally dump everything we gave them and everything they bought for their baby. When we unpacked some stuff there were loads of mice droppings everywhere and some clothes have all holes through them. A bath support and baby walker were all ripped apart as well plus a baby gym we bought their baby as a gift. So I ended up having loads more work to do cos I had to sort out all the clothes and the equipment

Welcome wintersdawn

Goodluck Strangeways

I am officially bored and tired because I cant sleep at night nor can I fall asleep during the day so only get about 2-3 hours sleep in total during the day and eve together.

I have a midwife appointment at 12:20 today and she is doing a sweep as well hoping that baby comes before my due date next week.

Good Luck to EvianBaby, Coraltoes, GeekLove, Sevenbubbles, Mama2LeahandAisha, LovelyKatie on your due dates today hope baby comes soon.

If I missed out anyone good luck and congrats

TooImmature2BMum · 10/03/2011 12:25

Good luck Strangeways!

Eva, I had my mum here yesterday helping me clean everywhere the mice might have been, and I still have traps out and we seem to have got most of them. Fingers crossed, anyway!

I just got back from my sweep - 41 weeks today - and the induction is booked for Tuesday at 9 if nothing happens before then. Sadly, the midwife could barely reach my cervix and said she couldn't really get her finger in it, so it doesn't look like anything will be happening any time soon! She tried, so perhaps that will be enough to kickstart my body into action - she said I might get a show now that she's done that. Really, though, at 41 weeks and with absolutely no progress - no show, no mucus plug, no heavy discharge, no painful tightenings/contractions, just the odd bit of backache and non-painful BH - I'm not holding out too many hopes for avoiding the induction. Better to resign myself to the inevitable and then if LO comes on her own it will be a bonus. I wondered about refusing the induction - the midwife asked if I was happy for her to book it, and explained the options if I wasn't - but I decided to let her book it. After all, stage 1 is still just to get the pessary and be sent home again for 24 hours, so the chances are probably good that that would be enough to get me going. Might send DH out for curry tonight, though!

NowPanicAndFreakOut · 10/03/2011 13:35

Hi all! Sorry not had a moment to check in or read back but had a baby girl on Tuesday lunchtime. All went fine, active labour under 11 hours and only 20mins of pushing! Now am trying to get to grips with feeding...

Good luck everyone. Hope there's lots of good news out there - will check back when I get a chance but (still unnamed!) lo has just woken up...

Xx

Medee · 10/03/2011 13:37

Well done, NPAFO!

me23 · 10/03/2011 14:17

congrats am988 and nowpanic

right my replacement TENS pads have been delivered so am ready for baby to make an appearance now, come on baby!

1Catherine1 · 10/03/2011 14:40

Congratulations Nowpanic!! We await your update. :)

EvaLongoria · 10/03/2011 14:40

TooImmature Glad you guys managed to sort it. I am sure not such a biggie but I only googles cos I found loads of the stuff that new baby might be used was touched by mice. I also just came from sweep and like you midwife could not reach my cervix but could feel baby's head and also said head and shoulders right down and that would explain why I literally cant move and keep on getting up for a wee.

Congrats on your daughter NowPanic, enjoy every moment

highlandbird · 10/03/2011 18:40

Congrats NowPanic!! And good luck Strangeways and Evian it will all be over for you soon and you'll have your gorgeous little bundles in your arms :)

Glad I'm not the only total misery guts today, fed up of being uncomfortable and not sleeping, and CTS in my hands is literally driving me insane....can't even make a cup of tea without a struggle :( and OH is running out of ways to try and cheer me up these last few days. Moan, moan, moan, moan! Oh, yes and I'm another one not looking forward to the invasion of friends / family, we live an 8 hour drive away from mine so they'll have to stay here.....
(sorry for moaning!)

1Catherine1 · 10/03/2011 18:58

Bah highlandbird, don't tell me you don't live near a travel-lodge or a B&B? remember, free accommodation and food only encourages people to stay longer and you already have an extra mouth to feed! Surely you have a house full already? My family are already well aware my house is full and they'll be staying at the hotel across the road. Put those well tuned moaning skills to some good use and prevent the long term home invasion :)

cherub59 · 10/03/2011 19:31

Well just back from hospital as had to be monitored as there was some concern from mw over baby heartbeat but all fine! And having contractions every 5-6 mins so expect to go back to hospital tonight! Thank goodness as had just been booked in for induction so nice to all be natural!
Congrats to the new arrivals!

Medee · 10/03/2011 21:06

very exciting, Cherub!

LovelyKatie · 10/03/2011 22:28

Due today.

EvianBaby · 10/03/2011 22:39

Goldenbear · 11/03/2011 10:08

strangeways many congratulations, what a marathon, have been watching your other thread with interest - bet it all seems worthwhile with your gorgeous little boy now in your arms.

It's been a relatively short time since I had a peek at the thread, can't believe how many new arrivals there have been in this time!

Spaceal, congratulations, hope everything is going well?

Carriebadshaw, congratulations on your baby boy and he arrived on his due date, this is encouraging!

Hattie05, many congratulations on the arrival of your baby boy, sounded like a good, fairly speedy labour, hope everything is going well?

Bluebeach, congratulations on your baby girl, what a lovely, unusual name, we still can't decide!

Larty, congratulations, hope he is doing well and you get to go home today?

am988, congratulations, yes the experience the first time around wasn't how I imagined either and the initial period can all be a bit overwhelming but only in a way you've never known before coupled with the absolute joy - it is quite a rollercoaster!

wintersdawn, we have the same due dates, although I'm hoping she will make an appearance soon rather than a week or more! As others have said don't worry just yet, a lot can happen within a week and 3 days! I am 3/5ths engaged but this is my second so the MW said yesterday she could POP in and out before labour!

Niamah, like you I have been having lots of painful movements over the last 3 days, coupled with BH at night wondered if this meant labour was imminent the other night but no. I was induced last time so can't refer to past experiences regarding natural labour.

EvaLongoria, has sweep encouraged any movements?

NowPanic congratulations on your baby girl, sounds like a textbook birth, hope you are both doing well?

Saw MW yesterday had a scan a week ago and it was confirmed that the baby is not breach- I told the midwife yesterday and she said she was surprised but obviously she can get it wrong. The doctor at the scan joked how he could not see anything between the legs, so I have to really think about the 'girls names' list now!

Over the last 2 days I have had very uncomfortable BH and a clearing out of the system (as it were) for the last 4 days, have been hoping this is it as I am ready as I will ever be now. The baby is 35ths engaged so this explains the general discomfort but as this is my second MW said yesterdaythat it doesn't mean much as she could POP out.

Last night I was being sick, had BH and was on the toilet a lot but my DP was also sick and my poor little DS who is 3 was projectile vomiting so I think I managed to poison us all with my Thai curry- I am not sure how though!

Medee · 11/03/2011 10:25

COngratulations Strangeways
