hello ladies! i have hot water, heating and a new bathroom floor that looks gorgeous. Gas man showed up yesterday pm - i was very pleased to see him

Diege, i read the free junior blooming birth book yesterday afternoon. and then i had a dream last night involving adult bodies being sliced in two and left writhing on the grass! it was horrific!!! i woke up feeling like a sick deviant. i think my subconscious is shitting its pants about giving birth. I mean the book was good in a sense - no nonsense and frank - but it did mention the word 'agony' a few times too many for my liking.

told my doctor about my fears this morning and she just smiled. nice. think dream was also brought on by not being able to do perineum massage last night without wincing in pain. dp can't even get two fingers in there without causing my face to crumple. think i've got thrush again. how on earth will i get a head out of this space!!!

blimey BoB - how exciting for you re: pink plug. i can hardly bear to look in my pants -

someone stop me panicking about this

BAM am glad to see things are looking up on IR front

going to go to uch this pm to discuss fears - they have a drop in talk to midwife session at 3 pm

is anyone else on here going???

byeeeee Jen x

JenJam · 26/10/2005 10:59

p.s. rodeo - jess looks positively angelic - what a cutie. is this your first daughter?

JenJam · 26/10/2005 11:30

aaaaarghhhh just went to bathroom and noticed a small blob of clear jelly + a red streak on wiping(like the blood streak you see in an uncooked chicken breast)
help!!!

rodeo1 · 26/10/2005 11:32

Thanks ladies! She's daughter no 3 Jenjam! Lost no 1 prematurely, no 2 is now 6!!

rodeo1 · 26/10/2005 11:33

Wow, Jenjam, is it a plug? How may weeks are you?!

JenJam · 26/10/2005 11:45

rodeo - i'm 38+1. I literally gulped and my eyes shot out of my head as if on springs, in a cartoon type way. need to calm down. this doesn't mean anything immediate does it? IT COULD BE DAYS

JenJam · 26/10/2005 11:49

i don't know if it's a plug. it was a teaspoo of clear discharge + dark red streak.

babyonboard · 26/10/2005 12:05

oooh jenjam - that sounds like what i have had...
you are closer to your date than me too...could it be it!?
I hate all this uncertainty.
I'm still getting pains but think it could be psychosomatic, as I am on edge at the moment.
also realised the vomiting could have been due to overindulgence last night..i ate three ocurses, and usually only manage half my dinner before I'm full.

ChaCha · 26/10/2005 12:39

Oooooh! It's quite exciting logging on here nowadays - all these shows eh? What's the update from BoB and Jenjam then? How are you feeling ladies?

Jenjam - Sorry but your posts had me in stitches, I LOL @ your description of 'uncooked chicken breast' (now off today's lunch menu) and then the cartoon character type eyes popping out of head - very descriptive!! Must have been strange to have been reading about BoB's experience to suddenly face it yourself. Wow.

Rodeo - Your DD is gorgeous, made me go all funny. Your kids are beautiful and you must be a very proud mjummy. Well done!

Sarah - Good to hear that you have some family members around, makes all the difference.

KristinaM - Thanks for asking, I haven't fasted one day so far, just couldn't do it and I think this year is going to be a very different Eid for us. As it's probably going to fall on Nov 5th anyway we are planning a firework display for the kids (not my usual cup of tea but a taste of things to come) and all the usual food & drink. No trips abroad this year!

I know i've forgotten some of you so i'll log back on in a bit. Mum is busy assembling the cot and her DP is moving furniture around.
Mum wants to move south now to be near us, my dad will go nuts. Babies really do bring about change - yikes!!

See you in a bit x

Rodoe - what a cute girl you have there!!! Many congratulations to you both. Very of all that lovely dark hair - do you think she will keep it? Ds had soem but then it fell out and he was baldy and toothless for about a year......

chacha - glad to hear you are Ok and haven't been fasting - not in your condition! Eid celebrations sound fun - fireworks and you can pig out - well at least as much as you can! Does anyone else feel they are full after only a small amonut of food, or is it just teh postion of my baby?

Sorry cant remember who it was who is awaiting the cosatto duet buggy - was it you Bam? I just got a letter saying it wont be in until mid - late Dec. Bummer....toook me montsh to decide on it...you knwo how indecisive I am .....

Thanks for all the knicker information girls....but try to stay calm..... it coudl still be days or even weeks

I just know that if this baby turns I will be the last to pop on this thread - I'm due on teh 23rd and last baby was 2 weeks late...sigh.....

ChaCha · 26/10/2005 13:39

Kristina - My EDD is the 26th so God only knows when this little one will decide to make an appearance. Still 4 weeks to go if on time.
Will see m/w on the 3rd who can hopefully tell me what position baby is now in. Would my GP be able to tell? Have an early appt with her tomorrow. I hope it is not his head that protrudes directly under my rib, it all kind of goes out to the right in a lump. I also feel a lot of movement very low down that makes me support bump when i'm walking if that makes sense. Hmmm!
We are still trying to work out our Jane pram, DH was convinced that we could use the carseat as a moses basket So glad the cot is here now, what next, the chassis as a base for a bath? LOL!
Kristina, I get full so quickly too and it frustrates me when I feel so hungry and can only eat a tiny portion. I overdid it a friends last night but could not resist every mouthful of a lovely meal - I came home as sick as a parrot though so really paid for it

Enthusia wishes Jenjam and BoB luck and says she's very excited for you. She'll be back late Friday.

My money was on Beks next followed by Enthusia, and as we haven't heard from Beks am wondering how she is? Hmmm...Layla's mum is getting v.near too. Whose next ladies?

I have an appt on the sofa with Wallace and Grommit...bye xxx

SORRY ABOUT THE DOUBLE MESSAGING AT THE END [BLUSH]

sarahsausage · 26/10/2005 15:20

Kristina & Chacha - I think i will be the last, due 29th Nov and went 9 days over with dd. NOt that theres anything wrong with being last, just watching everyone else having their babies and me having to wait makes me very

Jenjam & BoB - hope things start moving along for you quite quickly, maybe a couple more babies over the weekend? No pressure

babyonboard · 26/10/2005 15:33

thatnks Sarah! I hope so too...
Just been to the midwife who said I am 2cm dilated!!
But she also said it could be a week or more before anything happens.
still getting on and off pains and feel a bit funny today - a bit like i'm drunk! It's very odd.
I think this baby is just tormenting me...
any news jenjam?
Chacha - my mum is the same now baby is on the way..except she wants me to move up north...

Diege · 26/10/2005 15:33

Thanks for the info Jayfirst, although as someone who can't even work out how to CAT, I probably won't be able to use it myself .
oooh, getting very excited about these shows (though secretly pleased that it's not me! - I need at least 39 weeks to get my head around what's going to happen).
LOL Jenjam re: free book; I've not finished it yet, but like you it seems to be having a strange effect re:birth fears. Of course I was nervous before, and thought, here's a way of coping with these fears. I wasn't that scared though, but now having confronted my fears I'm more aware of them, and this hasn't really helped with them IYSWIM!! .
Well, back to 'supervision' of Barbie Nutcracker (please stop raining!!).
Diege 37+3

goldenoldie · 26/10/2005 15:34

Ooooooooo, looks like things are moving on this thread. No news from me, I'm just lurking at the mo girls.

babyonboard · 26/10/2005 15:39

now I'm worried..apparantly it's common to be dilated early in sunsequent pregnancies but not the first..
but I'm sure the midwife would have done/said something else if it was cause for concern
Must stop reading questionable medical advice online!...now!

sarahsausage · 26/10/2005 15:41

LOL BoB!

I do exactly the same thing, googled calf pain the other day and then convinced myself i had DVT, even though it was just the pain not the redness, heat etc!!

I'm sure if there was anything wrong midwife would have said something. Hopefully baby will be with you soon

babyonboard · 26/10/2005 15:47

hehehee..thanks sarah..i'm sure i inherited this habit from my mum..she had shelf loads of medical and self diagnosis books and would take us to the doctor with a list of possible illnesses..usually just turned out to be a cold or such..hehee

does anyone know if an optician will take my word for it that I am exempt from paying? i have an appt. this afternoon but can't find my nhs certificate anywhere..I mean it's obvious, but are they likely to insist on the proof?

Londoner · 26/10/2005 16:07

Hi everyone!

Had a fantastic night out at the theatre last night, really good, and went for big bowl of chicken ramen at 'Wagamama's' in the end, mmmmm, delicious!
Consequences this morning not so positive however as at my check up my BP is raised and have traces of protein (sorry if tmi) and slight oedema., have to go back on Friday..... sure it'll be fine though, just over doing it that's all. Anyway...
bob! What's happening! How exciting, sounds like you're going to go into labour soon, that's great! Try not to worry, if you go into labour now that's fine isn't it?
JenJam, maybe you too? V. funny imagery BTW, lol! You were obviously waiting until the gas man had been before releasing your plug, glad all that is now sorted, must be such a relief!
Hi ChaCha, glad to hear you're doing so well, excellent stuff.
rodeo... your daughter is divine, you must feel so proud of your girls!
Hi golden!
Hi Diege, busy, sarah, tessa, Kristina, layla phew, and anyone else I haven't mentioned!

Londoner · 26/10/2005 16:10

bob, do we have free entitlements at the opticians for being pg?

babyonboard · 26/10/2005 16:15

hi Londoner..glad you enjoyed yourself! I haven't been to the theatre in ages..
for future reference the greenwich cinema is fab1 very comfy seats!
did you make yourself look glam in the end?
I did, but then ruined it in a pub loo by soaking my skirt with an overzealous tap..it's the type of material a that takes ages to dry too..teeheee

i'm sure the boy will be fine if he's born soon..I am 36 + 3, but Nova was 37 and natalie's fine!, plus my due date isn't very exact as it was based on a late dating scan.

babyonboard · 26/10/2005 16:18

londoner -I think it's because i get maternity allowance..not sure if it's for all pregnant women.
I get free eye test and some help towards costs of contact lenses (only amounts to about £20 a year but not bad!)

Londoner · 26/10/2005 16:20

lol bob how awful! Did you spend hours crouching under the hand dryer?
Thanks for the tip off about Greenwich cinema, shall try & sneak a show in before D-Day.... what did you go and see in the end.. I'd really like to go and see 'Broken Flowers', I know that was one of your options. Theatre seats not quite so comfortable as yours, felt a bit like Shrek sat in mine!lol!
Love your easy soup recipes btw, thanks!
