Well, just packed hospital bag(s)so feeling pretty chuffed, though took me long enough to get going this afternoon. Ended up watching that crime/USA detective programme that always makes me feel like a retired person. Sarah's choccie bar has been on my mind though...
Congrats about IR Busy! What a weight off your mind - you should treat yourself to celebrate! My sentiments precisely about channel 5 programme last night - I kept looking at the 4 year old's face and cringing when his parents said they wished he hadn't been born! Good luck with request for internal, although our health authority won't do them in pregnancy until you're in labour (unless you can convince them of the need). V.common in the states though.
Need to do some more cleaning...

Eeek..I've just niticed some wierd gunky stuff in my pants!
it will be just my luck if the baby decides he wants to come on one of the rare evenings I have plans....
i'm hoping it's just nothing, but it's kind of like creamy vaseline. Any ideas?

babyonboard · 25/10/2005 17:37

I might skip the glass of wine I was going to have with dinner just in case - I don't want to be drunk in labbour!hehehee

sarahsausage · 25/10/2005 17:49

ooooooooooooooooo go BoB!!

Now i have an excuse to keep checking thread ever 20 mins and not doing any work, hich by the way the chocolate bar didnt motivate me to do

How many weeks are you?

sarahsausage · 25/10/2005 18:04

BTW, dont know much about the "stuff" you mention, i didnt get a show or anything when i went into labour with dd, just the contractions.

Laylasmum · 25/10/2005 18:31

Bob I get that stuff looks a bit snotty? I think it is bits of the plug gradually coming away, i had it for about 2 wks before started labour with DD.
Had scan today, am 39 wks, baby is measuring big!!! Its on the top centile of the graph for all measurements! Got to see its face all scrunched up now, apparently the amniotic fluid level is on the bottm level of normal though. They reassured me nothing to worry about but still a bit concerned any one else had this or knows wether or not it means anything!!

Still on for the home birth though even though baby is bigger than expected - ouch!!Sonographer reckoned it was about 8 lbs ish now!!Hopefully will deliver soon so don't have enormous baby.

Take care xxx

Oh BoBbsounds like a show to me!! The last person on the Nov mums who had this was Nova...... No seriously I wouldnt let it put me off a glass of wine if i wanted one. coudl be days...

BAM - you are very brave asking for a vaginal exam - i hate them and woudl avoid if at all possible [wimp emoticon]. Not sure what they can tell anyway - aren't lots of women a few cm dilated for weeks befroe labour starts??? . Tho I suppose they can tell you if nothing is happening dwon there.....

Laylas mum - good luck with the home birth plans

Twinkle - how are teh ribs today? Sorry you havent had your child free break

sarah - areyou feeling better?

Cha cha - how are you doing? You arent still fasting are you? It s a long time til Eid!

My baby is still transverse despite 2 trips to chiropractor and lots of serious talkings to...am going to try moxibustion soon, hopefully before dozy GP sends me to hosp for a scan

KristinaM · 25/10/2005 19:58

Laylas mum - when I went overdue last time they sent me for a scan to check the amount of amniotic fluid. If its low they get worried but i dont know why . Not sure if its a sign of porblems with the placenta? No doubt Twinkle or Karma will know

rodeo1 · 25/10/2005 21:21

Busyalexsmummy · 25/10/2005 21:40

BoB-About the gunky stuff-very normal for this stage, I had a load in my pants on sunday morning, its most likely as someone else said, that its your show starting to come away, wouldnt get too excited though, I had this on and off for 3 weeks before having ds....

KristinaM · 25/10/2005 21:52

wow rodeo, you are pumping alreday? I'm very impressed. is thsi so Dh can do soem night feeds? am even more impressed that you can type and express

BoB - did you have your glass of wine?

tessasmum · 25/10/2005 21:53

Evening all!

Gosh its hard to keep up, taken 20 minutes to just skim through today's postings!

Busy - Thank God IR came to their senses but would have been good if they had got it right to start with!

JenJam - no word from you today so far, hope you're not too cold to type! Definately feel a stroppy letter of complaint to head office is in order, both about the whole situation and that woman's attitude.

Well really thought I might make next on the graduate list last night. Was really sick, for the first time since going into labour with Tessa, and then my belly was tightening on a pretty regular basis all night. I kept expecting the next one to start hurting. Had to get up and go downstairs at one point just to get my thoughts together in case it was for real. However I still have a bump today so I may make it into November yet

rodeo1 · 25/10/2005 21:53

sarahsausage · 25/10/2005 22:01

Kristina - feeling loads better thanks Mum sister and cousin all been round to keep me company tonight, and also cousin is staying over and dp's mum coming round tomorrow.

Dp phoned earlier and mentioned that a guy he is working with has worked away for the last 8 weeks and has only got home for the weekends and that they have already said they want him to work in Doncaster next week, so its looking like this is going to be a regular thing. Will just have to get on with it i suppose.

Rodeo - Jess is beautiful, i want my baby NOW! although i'll probably want to send it back after a couple of weeks trying to cope with 2

Well, i think i'm goint to do a bit of knitting before getting off to bed.

Nighty night ladies

Diege · 25/10/2005 22:05

Ooh, some imminent births by the look of things!
BoB: recall this kind of discharge 2/3 days before labour began with my first, but looks like it could also be weeks. Exciting though!
Tessasmum: forgot to thanks you for info about the Jane; we're more at the 'this is hopeless' stage, than actually focusing on a specific problem, but will let you know when/if we reach that stage!
Laylasmum: not long to go now - I'm sure they'll keep an eye on you if they are worried, but your levels of fluid are actually normal, so I wouldn't worry too much. Good luck!
Rodeo - thanks so much for arnica link; will order some now before I go to bed; hoping it will help with bruising etc, as seems to come highly recommended, from you and others!
BTW have just read a really good, reassuring book on labour which was free with this month's Junior Pregnancy mag. Lots of advice on how to cope/prepare pyschologically, that's helped me a lot. Off to do my positive affirmations....
Diege.

Diege · 25/10/2005 22:07

Wow Rodeo, Jess is absolutely gorgeous! You lucky thing!

rodeo1 · 25/10/2005 22:16

piccy2 - slightly clearer I think!

Laylasmum · 25/10/2005 22:19

Rodeo your little one is absolutely gorge!!!

goldenoldie · 25/10/2005 22:30

Rodeo - what a sweet baby, lucky you.

babyonboard · 26/10/2005 10:20

morning all...
obviously no baby over here!
We went out, and I kept dashing to the loos to check for anything - still the same gunk, and some of it was a bit pink streaked which definitly sounds like a show!
my mum agreed with you ladies..could mean it's imminent or I could be waiting a couple of weeks yet!
I had a glass of wine - figured if I was in labour I could do with losing some inhibitions ..tehee....
it's great as now I only have one small glass i make sure it's a really good quality one, not like the days when me and dp would have a bottle of house red each..heheehe

I'm styill hopeful - i have been sick during the night, and my stomach is rock hard and I keep getting pains rising from the top of my thighs upwards..not very often though!
bet after all this I'll end up being the last to graduate..hehe

Rodeo - Jess is gorgeous! Glad to hear the breastfeeding is going well too.

londoner - hope you enjoyed your night out too!

Surely we haven't heard from Enthusia for a while? was she going away?

babyonboard · 26/10/2005 10:23

p.s - this can't be it..my tens machine hasn't arrived yet! heehee
