Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Medee · 10/03/2011 08:55

Morning all - the one and only time I have had any trace of protein in my urine (or whatever it is they test for) was after gorging on chocolates in the morning in the office - so just lay off till after the appointment. Easier said than done, I know!

That was fast delivery on the socks.

OP posts:
rocketleaf · 10/03/2011 09:38

meds they test for both sugar and protein I think. It's the sugar I am concerned about as have had traces in the last 2 tests. I hadn't eaten anything particularly sugary either day although I had been drinking cordial so that might have leeched through. They have asked for FMU today so that anything I've eaten won't affect the test. Fingers crossed I get the all clear!

loz They did change mine at the 20 week scan, but only brought it one day forward even though I know exactly when I ovulated, I did sometimes have a 27 day cycle so I guess it evened it out. Personally I would be inclined to leave it as it is as you would be asking them to bring it forward by 3 days, I would want the date as late as possible but that's because I want to avoid any intervention/induction if at all possible. But if you are worried about going too far over or getting too big maybe wait and see how you are measuring over the next few weeks and address it closer to the time?

owlbooty · 10/03/2011 09:55

Lozza mine is two days too soon as I know fo 'sho I didn't ovulate until day 16/17. I have explained this to the MW as I fully expect to go overdue and do not want to be hassled into an induction 2 days earlier than I think! However as rocketsocks says, as yours is the other way around I'd keep quiet Grin

rocket squeeeeeeeee tiny socks Hope the blood tests show nothing interesting at all :)

I can't stop eating malteser bunnies. This is not going to end well. Why are they so delicious? WHY????

Medee · 10/03/2011 10:00

sorry, missed your post, Lou. My due date factors in my enormo-cycle.

OP posts:
laurielou · 10/03/2011 10:02

Thanks for the advice ladies, I shall leave well alone! Obviously I have no basis for thinking I may go late, & like you I want as little intervention as possible. Baybee will come along when s/he is ready.

CluckyKate · 10/03/2011 10:41

Very wise Lozza - go with the later date and keep reminding yourself that it is only an estimated delivery date.

Yay for teeny-tiny socks....Gap ones are best for staying on!

Any more twinges Meds???

Medee · 10/03/2011 10:48

Woke up with some Kate, but all has subsided now.

OP posts:
Muser · 10/03/2011 14:01

How are those twinges doing Medee, I am so excited for you.

rocketleaf · 10/03/2011 14:46

yey for twinges meds I hope they are the sign of things kicking off soon, 2 days to DDay! eeep!

Also yey for me as urine test was completely fine today, measuring perfect size, blood pressure fine, MW very pleased with everything! Lovely trainee MW was there again, so we were having a bit of a laugh at my deep deep veins when she was taking my bloods. She did really well tho bless her.

Right I'm off to have a brew and a toblerone to celebrate :o

Ivegotmrbitey · 10/03/2011 16:23

Well done rocket, hope you enjoyed your tobe? How many times have you fondled the teeny socks today?Wink

Any more twinges medeesqueee?

loz bit belated but they changed my EDD to two days later after my scan, I am sticking with the later date too as all the baybees in my famly have been around ten days late.

I am twenty weeks today! Am very pleased to be at this milestone and half way through!

Medee · 10/03/2011 17:40

that was a great MW appointment, Rocks, glad to hear all is well.

And hurrah for 20 weeks!

No twinges since first thing this morning. Was vaguely every half hour or so, then disappeared when I got up. Had a bath, and going to test out the Tens machine tonight, but don't start pacing yet. Went to the NCT Bumps and babies group this afternoon, and am bloody knackered so could do with a good night's sleep first.

OP posts:
rocketleaf · 10/03/2011 17:50

Yey for 20 week/half way mark bitey (sorry lots of yeys today, I am running out of exclamation inspiration)

I am bloody knackered now, think i might have over done the yoga.

Ivegotmrbitey · 10/03/2011 18:49

I haven't gone to differ yoga, I was overwhelmed with laziness! Feel a bit guilty, especially as I had paid in advance but plan to be asleep quite soon so don't think I would have got much out of it tonight.

In other happy news marathon snickers bars are doing a limited edition peanutty one with no nougat. Is delish.

Night night all!

laurielou · 11/03/2011 08:06

Morning all.

Meds hope you managed to have a good sleep. Now, if you could start those twinges again.......

Rocket sounds like a fab MW appointment & great news that chocolate hadn't affected your urine. Woo Hoo! Chomp away on that Toblerone.

Bitey Great news on the 20 week mark - its a great feeling, non? Thanks for clearing up what is in them there new snickers - we have a charidy choc box in work & I was wondering. However, having so far stuck to lent (for 2 whole days) I haven't been able to try it. They always bring out new chocolate bars around lent

Well, I should be working hard today to clear things up before my week off - HUZZAH! Can't wait. Mr Loz mentioned going out for breakfast tomorrow to this lubberly local place tomorrow as a start. Who am I to argue?

Shin kicks all round, x

Casserole · 11/03/2011 08:54

Morning all. How are you today Medee ?

We are STILL ill in this house, remember that from eons ago? Ministew's developed into a chest infection, mine just into a nasty cough. Have pulled some tummy muscles from coughing so hard and it KILLS; have to bend over double and hold my tummy whenever I cough, which does have the amusing effect of terrifying passers by Grin

Otherwise not much news here. Nesting like a good un, no cupboard left unsorted!

Casserole · 11/03/2011 09:16

Do you all have your names sorted then? Less than 3 weeks to go and I'm suddenly having a big crisis about mine...

Muser · 11/03/2011 09:44

What's your crisis CasioCalculator?

Casserole · 11/03/2011 09:58

Mainly how common it suddenly seems to have become.
I don't know why that matters...

Muser · 11/03/2011 10:23

Ah, I know that dilemma. Bob's name has been popping up on the birth announcements a lot. I expect her to be one of 12 in her class at school. There are worse fates though. And you could choose an unusual name and find that everyone else had the same idea as well. I think it's hard to escape.

Medee · 11/03/2011 10:40

Morning all, still here.

Did get a good night's sleep, but minimal twinging.

We set up the Tens machine and had a practice on it last night, feels like some good shit for when the time comes to use it properly.

Also had another run down our names lists. We have a fairly short boys list, all of which I like, but which MrM has suddenly wanted to go back to the drawing board on, and a fairly long girls list, of which MrM is stuck on only 1 which I like but possibly prefer as a middle name. Gah! Still, I do think we'll get there - there's 21 days to register the birth after all!

OP posts:
rocketleaf · 11/03/2011 10:58

Hey casseopia sorry you are still suffering! Takes bloody ages to get over anything when you are preggers it would appear. feel your pain with the coughing, I had that same problem earlier in the week, its clearing now tho hopefully for good.

We have a short list, there is a definitely front runner but who knows what will happen over the next few months as we thought we had it cracked ages ago and its all changed now.

Casserole · 11/03/2011 11:02

I think naming a person is just too big a decision! Perhaps they should all just get a number until they're 18 and then they can decide for themselves Grin

rocketleaf · 11/03/2011 11:18

Like in china, "no.1 daughter", like your thinking, its too big a responsibility isnt it?

Casserole · 11/03/2011 11:19

FAR too big.

2397242383421 it is then. I think that has a certain ring ...

milanomum · 11/03/2011 11:21

:) I like that naming system Cass Some Italians actually call their children 'First' (Primo)...
I found the naming process so difficult. You've just got to go with a name you love, regardless of whether it's popular or not. Not even thinking about it yet with this one.
I have just a bit of a cough at the minute and can't imagine what it must be like for you if I feel i'm going to pop something out every time.

nearlyreadyMedee Am liking all these twinges!

Loz can't believe you are nearly off work! Envy

Bitey Have a 20 week selebrashion cake
