medee posted on FESH yesterday evening scorps.

Thanks all for your kindness re name. We feel a bit stoopid. Yes, she has a middle name, but as SFF says, people will only ask why if we start to use it! But she can switch herself if it becomes a problem.

Gin, nipple tweaks and bump rubs all round.

SilverSky · 09/03/2011 09:09

curlysue your PFB will be fine. Honest. No one will take the Mick cos she has an ESH for a mother!

Wrt routine - what's that? A la score we are winging it being very flexible about what happens and when aside from the feeding of course. A routine has kinda developed on it's own and it works for us. Others I know prefer to follow a routine such as GF or whoever. My life is disorganised not the same everyday so MB can't always be put in his cot to nap or wherever as we can be in the car or coffee shop or doctors etc and so he has to fit in with me. TBH most of the time MB calls the shots !!! It's only now things are going to plan and I am used to my new life and the frustrations challenges it brings. Hard for a control freak like moi. Having said that I wouldn't change it. I love my little Tiger. The little cherub has decided that today he will mostly be trying to bite me at every opportunity! Or should I say gum!!!

Hope all PESHs are blooming and feeling good!

Gotta go - MB screaming calling!!!

AlpinePony · 09/03/2011 09:15

curly Very normal for the Celts to use the middle name rather than the first - I did for the first 11 years of my life and I had plenty of friends at uni who we were all a bit wtf when we saw their names written down - you know, "but I thought your name was Rebecca". I must admit I'd not seen the link with her name either. But silv is right - nobody messes with FESHspring - 'specially not the ginners! Grin

laurielou · 09/03/2011 09:26

Curls the name switch had never crossed my mind. And I'm an evil wench Grin

Alps, Gin hush now about your tales of shortened mat leave. I shall have my 4/5 weeks just for me, filled with pottering around washing little things, having manicures & lunches. Oh, I shall Grin

I'm still very full after eating approximately 47 pancakes last night. Each one was delish. Now I'm on lent, & have decided to give up chocolate & crisps. I usually give up cakes & biscuits too, but I need to have a pack of ginger nuts on the go (medicinal of course) & I haven't worked out a valid reason why I can't give up cake this year. But I'm sure there is one. BTW, don't do lent for religious reasons, started it to annoy my religious friend who kept on about being such a martyr. We were 15 at the time. Bear grudges? Moi? Never Grin

SilverSky · 09/03/2011 09:46

loz I started my ML with approx 4 wks before the big day to do fuck all bits and bobs and I ended up being two weeks late. Regret it? Course not! Was lush!!!! Coffee, cake, tv, supervising HI with carrying out chores and shiz! Utter bliss. I was still dragging the dog out everyday and sorting out me horse which was good cos stopped me getting cabinfever.

rocketleaf · 09/03/2011 09:57

curls Switch never occurred to me either, FWIW I LOVE her name, it's on my 'list' (although not on TBs so you are safe from any copying)

loz Hmm, reason not to give up cake this lent? You are DIFFED, thats a good enough reason. Why don't you give up something useful like sky diving or internet porn? Or space travel, I hear thats really bad for differs.

I feel a bit gyped that I didn't have a single pancake yesterday, as I was out and we didn't have eggs anyway :( I might make up for it tonight. Or I might just have some for lunch today (healthy? balanced? moi?)

I ended up at a Gather the Circle event for International Womens Day instead. It was 'interesting', it was quite funny as we got there a bit late and had been for a meal at which the friend I was with had had a few glasses of wine. So she was a bit tipsy and we ended up in a room with 7 other women having serious discussions about gender and patriarchy. Fun times!! Bit odd!

Orchid12 · 09/03/2011 09:57

Lozza good work on the pancake front! We didn't have any last night as Mr O works late on a Tuesday, but we did have some at the weekend, which were uterly divine! Mini O had his first taste of pancakes and he is a definite convert- I think it was the chocolate sauce that did it Smile

I'm very much looking forward to my mat leave. I am keeping mini O with the childminder until the end of July to give me some time before and after squidge makes an appearance. I will not tolerate an early arrival - I have too much relaxing to do! Mini O took me a little by suprise as I was using my mat leave with him to complete my PhD and PGCHE. The little monkey came one day too early before I got the what I wanted to have done finished, so I had to take him into work at a week or so old and sit in the computer rooms with my boob out issuing instructions to my mum so she could put my teaching portfolio together for me. This time I have no PhD and no teaching qualification to do, so am fully intending to do bugger all on the three days I will have to myself each week (aside from cooing over all the mini clothes again). Bring on June 13th! (last day at work).

laurielou · 09/03/2011 10:11

Ah, Sky that's a far better tale of mat leave. Sounds lovely.

Rocket my idea of lent is giving up stuff that doesn't normally give me too much heartache. So no way giving up internet porn Grin. Your evening sounds, uh, different......

Orchid chocolate sauce is a win any time. My last day in work will be 21 April. That's quite soon really, isn't it?

Medee · 09/03/2011 11:16

still here, nothing to report though feeling twingier. Still in my PJs. Heard though that the first of my NCT class has had a baby girl this morning, so that's exciting news.

OP posts:
Muser · 09/03/2011 12:05

That is exciting Medee, they'll all start dropping now.

I would like to give an update on NotSoTinyNephew. He has been home for 6 weeks and gained 2lbs in that time. 7lb 12oz!

laurielou · 09/03/2011 12:43

Meds lovely news of NCT class baby girl - first of many dropees! Good to hear you're feeling twingier, even better to hear you're still in PJs. Now you're talking my kind if mat leave language.

Muse That's just great news about NotSoTinyNephew. Your nephew & family seem to have shown such strength & spirit during the scary times. Long may his weight gain continue.

Medee · 09/03/2011 12:47

excellent GettingBiggerNephew news!

OP posts:
Scorpette · 09/03/2011 12:55

YAY for GettingBiggerNephew! That little fighter ain't gonna let nuffunk stop him! Grin

Am liking Medee's twingy news. And your pj news, after doing so much recently.

Lozza - ever thought of giving up abstinence for Lent? Tbf, your 47 pancakes should give you enough energy to get through the whole of Lent on air alone Wink BTW, Can I congratulate you on your ability to keep a pointless grudge? I'm just as daft the same (recently pointed out to my brother that he still owes me £2.50 for our parent's 15th wedding anniv pressie - they'll've been wed 41 yrs this summer... ).

Curly, don't change Squeak's name, it's gorgeous. If a bunch of sick-minded caaaahs like us can't spot the teasing opp, I doubt a few kids could. Are you sure you're not worrying about this as a displacement worry ie ML ending? I say that gently as a pal, not harshly (I'm terrible for that sort of thing myself). But if you do go for her middle name, I wouldn't sweat it. As I've said before, all the men on both sides of my family go by the last of their middle names (pity my bro and cousin with 3 names each) and none of them ever have a prob.

rocketleaf · 09/03/2011 12:56

Lovely news about TinyNeph gaining weight and being settled at home muse and also to hear your NCT class is starting to drop meds Not long to go!!

I went to post a package earlier and HAD to buy a creme egg that was lurking on the post office counter. I blame booty

Medee · 09/03/2011 12:59

I wouldn't read too much into the twinginess, probably just achiness from sleeping. But I am dressed now. Lunch and then some household admin on the computer.

OP posts:
Ivegotmrbitey · 09/03/2011 13:30

lozzer I have given up low fat yoghurt for lent Grin

muse that is loely news about your not so tiny nephew, sounds like he thriving!

scorps you don't make me cry lovely slag-face, I can make myself cry by seeing a sad looking cloud at the moment! Am bag of soppy and need to HTFU!

This morning ladies I have been nudged from within and not farted! Am vay pleased, and trying to provoke more! It was when I was perched on a table gossiping networking and so posture was very bad with lots of squashing going on.

curly my mind has been boggling and I have come up with some corkers eg reckuf, egnim and mubgib but no actual names so it can't be an obviously rude word so someone with a peurile sense of humour like mine.

interesting twinge news medee!

owlbooty · 09/03/2011 14:18

Wah! Creme egg consumption is not my fault Grin

Bites that is top news. I have not felt anything whatsoever today. I am beginning to think he is doing it on purpose. It is, however, a good excuse for a large latte as caffeine does seem to provoke booting. Cold water so far has not worked at all.

I wailed and snottered at the ending of Neverland the other night having not even seen the rest of the film. I also need to HTFU.

Muse hoorah for the plumptious Neph!

milanomum · 09/03/2011 14:32

This is the best guide to parenthood ever.

milanomum · 09/03/2011 14:35

In my experience, the bit about the goats and the bathroom is so, so true.
Still makes me cry laughing after the 100th time.

Ivegotmrbitey · 09/03/2011 15:54

Love it mamamia Grin

Fish slaps all round to weeping differs, myself included!

HighPriestessBoo · 09/03/2011 18:19

I love that Milano, especially number 10. I think it should go in the Bounty pack.

SilverSky · 09/03/2011 21:00

Yay for chubbaNephew! Wicked news!

rocketleaf · 10/03/2011 08:32

My eBay socks arrived! They are so tiny, waaaaaaaah!!

Morning all! I've got the 28 week MW appointment this avo. Slightly nervous about the urine test but apart from that should be ok. lozzer have you had yours this week too?

And I finally managed to get to yoga again last night after 3 weeks off, i could really feel it that i hadnt been for a while so glad to get back on it. Also I have started reading the Active Birthing book that boo lent me so am going to try and devise a daily program to do myself. Will see how long that lasts :o

rocketleaf · 10/03/2011 08:35

Btw creme egg consumption was thwarted yesterday by arrival of client just as I was pealing the foil off. Had to wait a whole FOUR hours before returning to it. Then discovered TB had bought mini toblerones too. Bloody hope urine test is ok cos too many nice treats about that I'd be missing out on otherwise!

laurielou · 10/03/2011 08:54

Morning!

Rocket I've got my next MW appointment on Mon - I'll be 29 weeks that day. So I have the bloods mallarkey to look forward to.

Well done for going to yoga. I haven't been for 3 weeks & won't be going Monday either coz we're away for the week. I really wish I could find a differs related class that was a bit earlier in the day - I get home from work on a Mon & just cannot summon the energy to go out again

I had a lindor egg on Tues - my last chocolate (apparently Wink) until Easter. Can very much recommend, was delish.

Actually, what do you ladies think. My initial "number of weeks" was calculated going by last droid etc & according to that I'll be 29 weeks Mon. But when I had 12 week scan it was a Thurs & according to those measurements I'm 29 weeks today. I was told coz it was only a few days difference they wouldn't bother changing due date, & I was happy to go along with that. But I've since read the last droid due calculation is based on a standard 28 day cycle (which I didn't have). Other people have since said scan calculations are more accurate.

I'm not stressing about this, just curious whether I should ask for due date to be changed, mostly thinking in the event that I go a bit late. What has everyone here had their due date based on?
