You said it, Meds, not us Grin

Medee · 28/02/2011 19:40

Have you seen there is a new emoticon for you to over-use while in the grip of emoticonitis, Scorps? St Davids

OP posts:
Scorpette · 28/02/2011 19:49

That'll come in handy for my Morrissey impressions too, ta! St Davids St Davids St Davids St Davids

owlbooty · 28/02/2011 20:50

The snuffling sounds so very, very luffly. I wonder if could borrow a baybee for a couple of hours to snuffle for practice?

Then I could hand it back when it starts smelling unpleasant and someone else could deal with it Grin

Nice quiff, scorps

I have decided that the weird feelings must have been chuffs and not kicking. Haven't felt anything else for a couple of days. Which might worry me if they had been kicks. But no, they were surely chuffs. Someone beat me with a haddock please.

Medee are you top of the list now? If not, is a queue jump in order? Grin

Ivegotmrbitey · 28/02/2011 21:08

Glad you're ok scorps Smile

bootsthechemist I keep having a flutter then a fart, is still very early for feeling the wriggles. They very weird flutters though! Here have a slap round the chops with a verboeten marlin.

Ivegotmrbitey · 28/02/2011 21:11

Ps code red on the tear jerking OBEM tonight Sad

Scorpette · 28/02/2011 21:22

I know, Bitey Sad My heart is breaking for that poor couple who've lost 2 children. You wouldn't wish that on your worst enemy. Hope the elcs goes well and this baby is healthy and hearty. Certainly helps put all troubles into perspective - The Lad is thriving and that's all that matters to me

Scorpette · 28/02/2011 21:25

The MW with them is a credit to her profession - what a lovely woman.

Medee · 28/02/2011 21:46

I knew from last week's trailer that this week's episode would be tough but, boy, it's a tough watch.

OP posts:
LadyGoneGaga · 28/02/2011 21:49

I'm watching half an hour behind. Bit upsetting isn't it Sad.

Thanks for all the scan shiz. Not going to find out - want another surprise. Had surprise with MiniG and was lovely, the moment when he was put on my belly and I looked down to see what he was. And I don't care either way. Although have a girls name sorted and still debating boys options at the mo...

Sorry you're feeling rubbish again, Score - not too much longer.

Booty, baybee could just have turned round and be kicking the insides. Don't worry about it at this stage.

Differs yoga was lovely...has loosened all my stiff, sore bits up Grin

HighPriestessBoo · 28/02/2011 22:01

Hello. Just marking my place cos I keep falling off the fred now MN have changed the 'I'm on' feature. Watching OBEM on 4od - will pop back to peruse your latest in a short while you lovely squidgey bodacious feisty PESH :o

Scorpette · 28/02/2011 22:36

Not a dry eye in the house here, after that OBEM.

Scans are bloody brilliant, aren't they, GG? The one surprise won't be how fab your baybee is; we breed some good 'uns where we're from, eh? Wink

PS

Bitey the WTF feelings must be confusing, but I think any movement is good stuff :)

HighPriestessBoo · 28/02/2011 23:05

No kidding about that OBEM - I proper sobbed this week.

Good to hear of scannage Lady and flutters a-plenty Booty and Bitey :)

HighPriestessBoo · 28/02/2011 23:08

Sorry Boots didn't read properly. Sorry for lack of flutters but all will be well

Scorpette · 01/03/2011 00:06

I meant Booty, not Bitey, sorry Blush When I first started feeling flutters, etc., it would be very sporadic and not every day. Has only been every day since @23wks for me, and certainly still with big gaps inbetween. Hope that reassures a bit :)

laurielou · 01/03/2011 08:39

Happy St Davids Day, fellow Welshies St Davids

I have a headache I sobbed so much at OBEM last night. But it all worked out for the best. Actually, that's when I cried my hardest Blush

Scorps I'm sorry you're feeling so rubbish. You really have struggled, haven't you?

Medee · 01/03/2011 08:45

Swap you flutters for full-on "is there an octopus in there playing the bongos?!" which is what I had last night whenever I tried to get back to sleep!

Hypno-breathing doesn't help as that just gives baby more oxygen!

OP posts:
Medee · 01/03/2011 09:28

the pram is here!

Ivegotmrbitey · 01/03/2011 09:29

Happy St David's day! St Davids Had to stop watching OBEM last night as the FDH was getting too upset and we were both in tears. Glad to see the hormonal madness is spreading through chez bitey! I have taped it recorded it on a generic hard disk recorder so will watch the rest later when he is out. Glad to hear there is a happy ending!

Gosh meds that is quite the mental image Grin Sorry you are suffering wthout the sleep, is today cook off day? Can you have a little snooze while mommameds tales charge?

Medee · 01/03/2011 09:44

Something like this?

Mum arrives back of 11, but as the Sainsbury's order doesn't come till 1, I think we'll easing ourselves into it. I should survive!

Speaking of which, if I am quiet for a few days, don't fret - the computer is in the room mum is in, so might not be online so much!

OP posts:
Ivegotmrbitey · 01/03/2011 09:52

Exactly like that! What are you going to be making?

My nice friend in work just brought me two welsh cakes, I ate them both within three minutes! Blush

Orchid12 · 01/03/2011 09:53

Wishing all you lovely Welshies a happy St David's day St Davids

LGG good to hear the scan date is now looming - how exciting!

Meds glad you've got the pram. Are you tempted to put a teddy in it and go for a walk? I was Blush, although hasten to add that I didn't!

Good work on all the flutterings that are going on. I thought it was all a bit odd at first, but am liking it now as I know that all must mean that all is fine and dandy in there and it's reassuring Smile.

OBEM - another household here that seemed to have something in the air causing muchos sniffling. I thought the couple who had lost the babies handled discussing it all so well. When they showed her the baby I thought I was going to go into meltdown...Even Mr O was sobbing! I'm trying to take the positive from it and see that you can get through these things, but I have to admit to walking from the car park to work this morning feeling ultra protective of squidge and saying a little prayer that I never have to experience what they have been through. I wish I had a crystal ball sometimes to show me that PG and labour will be fine and then I might relax a little.

Anyhoo, moving on. Despite the roof leaking in two places and wrecking the ceiling in my newly decorated bedroom and living room, the house is nearly decoarted and back to normal. We're hoping to have the carpet put down in our room this week, the roof is being fixed on Friday and the stairs, hall and landing are mostly done. Hooray! That means I can start thinking about buying mini O a new single bed and a wardrobe and getting the nursery sorted Grin. I can't wait to get his clothes etc down from the loft and remind myself of how little he once was.

In fact I have a question for mums with children already. I will be using Mini O's cotbed that he is currently still in, for the baby. I've read that you should buy a new mattress for each baby. However, O's mattress already has a washable cover, which is covered by a waterproof bottom sheet, and then a cotton fitted sheet. So, there are three layers between him and the actual mattress. Are you bothering buying a new mattress or sticking with the one you already have?

Scorpette · 01/03/2011 09:55

Awww, fanks It's not been a walk in the park for me, no, but I figure that 9 months of feeling shitty is a fair trade for a lifetime of love (stop vomming, you cynical lot!). And we all have our various probs.

YAY for Medivac's pram. It's all getting a bit real, what what?! Love the imagery, btw. The Lad seems to be his own one-baybee Glee Club of late.

St Davids St Davids St Davids St Davids to the Taffies. I have a bit of Welsh blood 'n' a Welsh surname, so does that count?

Talking of blood, I had mine taken earlier, so should know if it is anaemia by the end of the week. Think the lack of sleep is getting to me, cos I started mentally riffing to myself whilst waiting (for an HOUR Angry) about how it's a shame Mitchell can't be retrained to have a nibble on your neck and diagnose any probs that way. I shall let you use your own imaginations as to how I pictured him curing me Wink

Medee · 01/03/2011 10:03

It's in 2 boxes (plus two more for the car seat and base) so the pushing it around with a teddy will have to wait. The Moses basket has a teddy in it though, though that was MrM who did that!

This week's menu includes Fish Pie, lasagne, ginger cake (which I am about to start now myself), chicken gratin, beef bourgignon and possible some batches of ragu.

OP posts:
LadyGoneGaga · 01/03/2011 10:08

Orchid I don't think I am going to replace the mattress in MiniG's cot. But that is partly because he hardly slept in it to be honest as was a co-sleeper about 80% of the time. So it hasn't really had any wear. But if you have lots of layers on then prob ok? I don't really understand what the reason is though...

Happy St David's to all the Welsh bods. And I always count today as first day of spring. Yes, I know it isn't officially but FFS March is Spring if you ask me. So Happy Spring Day to the rest of the non-welshies. Grin

Any cloth nappy users amongst the existing Mum's? I have mine from last time but want to get them sparkly white and like new. Anyone have any tips? Or is this a pointless endeavour. They're not too bad, just not as white and fluffy as they were when MiniG was first in them (but miles more absorbent!)
