Happy birthday, Carrie!

Today I listened to the Pregnancy Relaxation CD from the Natal Hypnotherapy set for the first time. I thought I would give the programme a go, as I have had hypnotherapy before for something completely different and still use the techniques I learned at that time. Anyway I really enjoyed it, I had been having a bit of a crap day but I am feeling good now, and I feel like it helped me bond with my baby a little, even though I can't feel it moving around yet. If any of you had been considering trying that CD out, I would recommend it. I am going to keep going with it and also try the birth preparation CD. If nothing else, if it makes me feel relaxed and good about my pregnancy as it progresses, then it will be worth it.

Teladi · 02/03/2011 20:50

Sorry, Yukana I also meant to say that I understand your anxiety, this is all new to me too and it can be scary. It is hard just to trust that all will be well... all we have is faith! I am thinking of you and hope you feel more at ease soon.

Hersetta · 03/03/2011 08:29

Received my doppler in the post yesterday so had to use it stright away. Took a while to find through my jelly belly but finally got a nice clear heartbeat just to the left of my belly button.

Happy belated bithday Carrie.

Off to spain for 4 days on Saturday so if i don't post again before then, have a good weekend all.

KLou111 · 03/03/2011 08:57

Yukana I know what you mean. It's really scary, especially as it's y/our first time. You just don't know what you should bee feeling, and when etc. I was feeling the baby very regularly a few weeks ago, and now it seems to have disappeared, which then makes me question if it was the baby!
The Angel Sounds doppler sounds like a good one, and a couple on here have them. I bought mine new off ebay (a green one, as they all seem to be pink so thought I'd be different) was £25 delivered, and comes with gel, CD's to record baby etc. Can't wait for it to come now. :)
Have a great day all. We have beautiful sunshine again here, been like this since Saturday, we were even in t-shirts in the garden yesterday Grin

KLou111 · 03/03/2011 08:58

PS, I seem to have put on 5lbs, not sure where as I look no different, but on feeling my belly lying down, I seem to have the makings of a small hard bump Grin Grin Grin

RugbyWidow7 · 03/03/2011 11:07

I had the same with feeling the baby - I thought I did each night for a while, now nothing! V strange.

Just rather depressingly put on my normal diesal jeans which I haven't worn for a couple of weeks. I expected not to be able to do them up at the top, but they are sooo tight around my bum - clearly it's not just baby pounds I'm piling on Confused

Rehune · 03/03/2011 11:24

Hello all, Been off thread for a while and was just thinking about getting a fetal heart rate detector so I thought I would check back on here and whaddaya know!

Having 20 week scan next thursday and excited, thought I could feel the baby move over the last few days which is awesome and scary at the same time. DH has been in Libya the past 2 weeks now and its all a bit scary but that's his job. He might not be back for the anomoly scan so I am going to take a friend with me.

Have been reading through thread catching up on news x

Firawla · 03/03/2011 16:03

rehune that must be worrying your dh being there, hopefully he will be fine though
good luck for ur scan

rugby i think its normal to put on a bit of weight everywhere not just on the bump? well i hope so.. cos i always do

RugbyWidow7 · 03/03/2011 16:53

thanks firawla, as long as it's pretty ok - telling myself it's all needed for breast feeding! Definitely still hungrier than i used to be though, it's amazing!

I'm sooo excited! Can't belive how long there still is to wait! Can't wait to meet the little one. Roll on August!

neverlookback · 03/03/2011 17:23

just checking in, things plodding on here, still getting very emotional at times and still really tired hoping it will lift soon, ds been poorly for 2 weeks and up every night 4-6 times sometimes for an hours at a time, but has slept through for the last 2 nights so hoping its passed! definate bupm coming on but has a nice squidgy layer over it left over from the other 2! i have put on 4.5lbs so far feels like more!!
glad everyones ok

MrsVidic · 03/03/2011 19:35

neverlookback your bound to feel exhausted, it's hard enough dealing with a porley toddler generally but when your pregnant it's unbarable. Thank god he's sleeping better now, sleep deprivation is he'll when your pregnant.

I went to the gym today before work and just returned from a family Sejm session with Dp and dd so I'm knackered. I have a small bump now, which feels massive but I'm not out to my colleagues yet.

I'm really worried at work at the moment. I told my boss a few weeks ago and
I reminded her how far along I am only to find out she hasn't told hr and doesn't know my rights or the law or anything! I started the second week in Jan but was offered the job the end of November! So I think eye feels betrayed I started pregnant!

Anyway I'm meeting my friends dd who is 11 days old tomorrow so I can't wait! She also has a dd the same age as mine so i have presents for everyone

Annie456 · 03/03/2011 19:48

Hey all, good to catch up on what's happening with everyone...I'm exhausted at the mo-I thought this got better in the 2nd tri? I just want to SLEEP! also, despite having a huge appetite nothing really seems to taste of anything which is always a massive dissapointmet after cooking! I'm finding it difficult to slow down my pace and end up having one day of running around as usual then the next day being tired and emotional and going to bed at 7pm and then the cycle starts again. Have got builders in at the mo and they arrive at 8am so I can't even have a lie in!!! Sorry for the self centred post...I'm waiting for a train and just wish I was in bed!

KLou111 · 03/03/2011 20:10

I get to have a shower tomorrow morning after a week whoop whoop!! :) DH has got our new bath in (we only had a shower cubicle) Had a complete new suite, but that was last thing before the tiling. OOOOOOOO so can't wait for a shower, ever if I have got to sit down for the mo cos the screen can't go up till tiling done. Can't wait to have a bath either after 18 months!! Not sure which end am meant to sit though cos it's an L-shaped one, assume it's the end with the slope Confused

Well, went for my triple bloods today, then Doc wanted to see me after cos of my bleed on Sunday. They scanned me again, and all is fine in there, bouncing around Gutted as DH not there. He came with me yesterday when I bloody forgot my notes, but he was sorting bathroom and thought I was only having bloods done. He said it was OK, but I can tell he is gutted as we've done everything together so far.
I didn't really get to see baby much as there was only a monitor for them, but saw him/her briefly.
Feel very lucky to have seen our little one 3 times and am only 17 weeks today!

Can relax a bit more now. Grin

MrsChemist · 03/03/2011 20:27

Good to hear about your scan going well KLou :)

My parents have just invited us to join them on holiday to Turkey, and part of me wants to go away because it will be nice to have a relaxing week in the sun, but I went on the foreign office website and it was all doom and gloom about terrorists and stuff, and now I'm nervous. I'm scared of flying, which is made all the worse by having DS with me, and being pregnant.

Then there is the travel insurance woe, which gives me a headache.

Firawla · 03/03/2011 20:31

I am still exhausted too, I never found the 2nd trimester blooming and so energetic thing to be true though i think it's just an old wifes tale or something
neverlookback hope your ds is better now, poor u really can be knackering looking after 2 young kids on a lack of sleep. i can sympathise, and none of mine are even ill at the moment

Yukana · 04/03/2011 08:18

Thank you everyone. Someone came over to talk to me about my plans for the future regarding education and my soon-to-be family which was nice, lovely woman and it was nice to have the company. (I'm a lonely sod :) )

I think I will buy the doppler, it's nice to be able to confide in my mother with my worries but everyone says I really don't have anything to worry about.

At the moment I think I have... a head cold? I have a headache, sore throat, and my eyes hurt when I look at light. I have a bit of earache too but it's minor and I'm not sure if it's related. I don't really feel achey, just tired from not being able to sleep much at all last night. Yucky. I don't feel sick at least.

LadyGoneGaga · 04/03/2011 09:08

Back from 20 week scan - benefits of having first appointment of the day = zero waiting around. All is good - all the organs present and correct.Grin We didn't want to know gender so still none the wiser. Baby transverse at the moment but seeing as it completely changed position during the scan no need to get knickers in a twist!

Bit horrible walking into the room as was same scan room as when they told me had lost everything at the mc. But now have happier memories!

Glad everything well after your bleed, Klou

Fair play to you still at the gym, MrsV. I've started pregnancy yoga now and that is enough for me. Getting very stiff these days.

KTisPG · 04/03/2011 09:15

Hi all

I'm also still exhausted and have not found 2nd trimester any more fun than the rest of pg in my previous 2. Still hungry and really grumpy, which is not helped by my ongoing row with HR about what I'm capable of doing grrr.

MrsV could you speak to HR yourself? I know its really hard especially when you're pregnant (I cried my eyes out in a meeting with my boss and HR the other day Blush. Soo annoying and unprofessional Sad) but you've got to stick up for your rights because no-one else will.

OP posts:
Teladi · 04/03/2011 10:09

I don't mean this in a bad way but it's sort of nice to know that other people are still feeling crappy. I was thinking I was just stupendously bad at being pregnant. I actually feel like I have had an illness since Christmas that is just dragging on and on... nausea, exhaustion, and I react irrationally to things a lot of the time.

On the plus side I thought I felt the baby move last night when I was lying in bed, at 14+6 and my first pregnancy it was probably just my dinner, but it made me feel nice anyway. :)

Firawla · 04/03/2011 10:22

glad your scan went well lady gone gaga

Rozeeglow · 04/03/2011 10:26

I agree with you Teladi. When does pregnancy get fun/enjoyable? Still, I'm sure I'm feeling the baby move in the evenings now which feels odd (like being flicked on the inside) but very nice :)

Only 3 weeks until my 20 week scan. Can't believe that'll be roughly half way already!

KTisPG · 04/03/2011 10:42

I know exactly what you mean Teladi. I don't know how people get to advanced pregancy without knowing! I would have thought I had a chronic illness if I didn't know I was pregant LOL

OP posts:
MrsStevo · 04/03/2011 11:17

Sorry to probably annoy the lot of you, but I CAN understand how people get to advanced pregnancy without knowing ... in fact I said exactly that a couple of days ago. If I hadn't had a scan I wouldn't believe that I was pregnant (aside from the lack of the monthly visitor from hell). I have zero symptoms, not much of a bump beyond I-haven't-exercised-for-3-months-podge and fortunately now my energy levels have picked up again. I know I am SO lucky - particularly since I have two of them swimming around in there - but I am getting rather impatient about the whole no bump, no feeling movement thing :(

Very pleased your scans went well gaga and klou! What a good start to the weekend!

KLou111 · 04/03/2011 11:59

Glad your scan was lovely as ever Ladygg
Got my doppler today, woohoo. Thought it was broken but it came with a duff battery! So nice to listen to the little one whoosh whoosh whoosh-ing away :)

KTisPG · 04/03/2011 12:01

MrsS Show-off!!! Grin Not that I'm Envy you understand!
