Thanks Nickstermum - feeling better now

KLou111 · 07/02/2011 11:18

That pillow looks good to me (DreamGenii). DH didn't buy me a lot for Chrimbo as I wanted him to buy me pregnancy stuff for when I was further along ie clothes etc, but this could be something he could buy me too :)

Have got a link for more free nappies here

Re list MorningsMadness, there is another page for the list now, as it was taking up too much room on here lol. The most updated one is here

Hope everything OK Cadmum

majormoo · 07/02/2011 11:23

Hope all ok cadmum. Pregnancy is so stressful.
I am never sure about ham but am judging it as probably ok. So confusing all the things to avoid-as I have three kids already you'd think I would know by now.
I an not sure but think we will go for a surprise on the gender. We knew Ds1 was a boy and it was lovely to know but I do love the big reveal when they are handed to you/wriggle up to you at birth. However my DD will be after a sister with two brothers already so perhaps we should find out to prepare her.

LittleBeaut · 07/02/2011 11:29

Nowt has ever been said to me about being overweight when seeing my midwife neverlookback. Mind its probably because she knows I know I'm over weight and straight away said to her "I've been going to SW for 2 years and want to continue going, but have to have your permission... I do have your permission dont I??" She was completely fine with it so maybe thats why nowts been said to me.

I cant stop drinking pop!! Cherry coke mainly and am now at the dentist today and I'm sure I need a filling. But I really dont think I'm going to allow him to scrape them. The only time I gip a little is when I'm brushing my teeth so god knows how I'm going to go on with two sets on hands in there - eeeek Blush

My mind keep racing with things I need to do before a baby comes, is anyone else getting this?? Then I keep thinking "Oh I have plenty of time" Then I think "SH*T!! July is not that far away - ARGH!" But I am getting offered loads of baby things and keep accepting everything, because I dont know saying now... I think I have three of everything so far haha. Except cots... I have the cot bed I had with my first two that I lent to someone a few years ago and her little girl is going into a 'big girl bed' soon so not taking on any more cots, unless its a travel cot, defo need one of those.

Good luck to everyone that has scans this week. Will defo be able to keep a closer eye on posts from now on... well till next time I decided to get a room decorated in a weekend ha xx

LittleBeaut · 07/02/2011 11:30

Oooh yeah and Cadmum please keep us posted and good luck hun... sure everything's fine but sending you {{huggles}} anyway xx

littlemisslozza · 07/02/2011 12:01

Hope everything will be ok Cadmum, and that are able to take it easy.

KTisPG · 07/02/2011 12:06

Haha majormoo that is because they keep changing the advice! I'm taking it all with a very large pinch of salt (yes literally Wink). I'm veggie so disregard the meat/fish advice (sorry no good on ham!) and I don't have any alergies, have never had food poisoning, so I eat peanut butter, and blue cheese/brie on occasion. Not all the time, but if I really want to I do. I'm quite careful where I get it though, wouldn't eat a brie sandwich that looks like its been there all day IYSWIM.

Nickster my BMI is 33 and they didn't say anything to me. Again, I would reiterate my pregancy mantra (think Irish attitude and accent) "tis only guidelines" Grin

Hi Girls! Thanks for the new topic!

I try to post more this time!

Cadmum fingers crossed for you!

I had TN +blood test last week and now I am waiting for the results... I want definitely go for the amnio test but I am not sure if I can get it through the NHS? Hmm

konatsu · 07/02/2011 12:47

majormoo & KTisPG It would be much better if we could get the toxoplasmosis test easily. In case we are immune to it, we could eat more things without worrying about it? I took it and now I am waiting for the result Confused

LadyGoneGaga · 07/02/2011 13:27

Ham is fine Rugby widow. You have to watch out for stuff like palme ham or prosciutto crudo which is cured and not cooked due to the Toxo risk.

daisysair · 07/02/2011 13:44

cadmum fingers crossed all's ok!

morningsmadness that's a pretty old list me thinks-there's a LIST THREAD which is the most up to date.

KLou111 · 07/02/2011 14:14

Just won a new DreamGenii pillow and case on ebay for £25 + £3.30 del, happy bunny :)

neverlookback · 07/02/2011 15:45

ooh that is a good price klou111 did they have more to sell? im gonna have a look now but if it was an ebay shop let me know name and we will all clear them out!!

KLou111 · 07/02/2011 15:56

No, was a private bidder never. There are some others on there quite cheap at the moment, but they are used. I just wanted a new one though :)

littlemisslozza · 07/02/2011 16:34

Don't there's anything wrong with eating cooked ham, as LadyGoneGaga said, it's the uncooked stuff you need to watch out for. The problem with unpasterised and blue cheeses is potential listeria infection I think. Rare, but serious if it does happen.

MrsVidic · 07/02/2011 17:30

fingers crossed cadmum i know lots of my mummy friends bled through their preg and they have toddlers now x i have had a scary day myself. I had a rare baby free day today so went gym as usual then had a look at new cars, then i popped into work to drop something off and had a funny turn. I ended up led on the floor. (yes i am the poster who has been in their new job since jan and i'm bricking it about telling them.) any way i explained it must be not enough breakfast and went home. I'm so going to have to tell them soon as i look awful. I have been self medicating with those home made brownies with a massive lunch of chicken sandwiches so now feel sick and too full. When i ate 4 hours ago. I know i need to keep sugars up but it is hard to eat when you feel so full. Anyone any tips?

MrsChemist · 07/02/2011 19:10

Fingers crossed cadmum hope everything is ok x

Yukana · 07/02/2011 21:45

I send my best wishes and hugs to you, Cadmum, and thank you Bryher for the kind words.

I believe the issue with my ESA will be sorted out soon, so the stress of that is slowly easing off my mind.

Other than that, I've been feeling very pregnant, it's a weird feeling and I find myself patting/stroking my bump every now and then. I've got quite the bump now and I'm loving it, although it can be uncomfortable sometimes when sleeping and sitting on the couch!
TMI here but.. Blush I had a bit of milk come out of one of my breasts today, is it weird that I was happy about it? I think I'm quite weird but I'm a strange person to begin with! :)

Drank a large glass of cola today, worried it's too much caffeine as I've been trying to be careful with everything.

Does anyone have any ideas for shops that sell comfortable clothing for growing bumps/walking around? I get extremely horrible backache and tend to feel very uncomfortable whilst walking around. I'd also like to know if anyone does anything/has bought anything that has helped them sleep more comfortably? I used to sleep on my stomach before the pregnancy and find sleeping on my side uncomfortable at times.

I try to read through everyone's posts when I can, and hope all is well.

sleepyowl · 08/02/2011 06:47

Scan day today. Feeling very nervous. Wishing I could feel all bubbly and excited but really just flat out terrified. No particular reason to feel so worried... I guess I've just seen too many people have their hearts broken by bad news at their scan.

Cadmum · 08/02/2011 06:57

I hope things go well sleepyowl

Rozeeglow · 08/02/2011 07:00

Good luck with your scan today sleepyowl. [Sending soothing vibes]

MrsVidic · 08/02/2011 07:31

good luck sleepy owl. Hopefully you'll be back here soon all loved up with your scan. yukana i found new look good early on last time around. I'm not worrying about cafeine this time but i don.t drink pop. Is anyone planning to breast feed? I haven't had any persuading or anything this time from mw as she was there when i had dd and knows i fed for the year. I'm planning to again

LadyGoneGaga · 08/02/2011 08:08

I'm also planning to breastfeed, MrsV. Have only just weaned DS (he is 2.8) so will be nice to have 6 months off before feeding the new baby. I loved it though, so easy once you get the hang of it. I was very lucky as my midwives were very supportive while I got established and so never had cracked nipples or mastitis.

Maybe try eating little and often, mrsv. I get a really bloated, painful tummy if I eat too much at one go.

Good luck with scan, sleepyowl.

littlemisslozza · 08/02/2011 08:15

Yes, I'll breastfeed again, it was hard work first time round but after 6 weeks it became easy. I think that can be partly attributed to DS1's traumatic birth as he struggled to have the energy to feed. DS2 fed brilliantly from day one and it's so handy not having to make up bottles and there's enough stuff to take when you leave the house already! Bf is def more convenient for me.

Firawla · 08/02/2011 08:40

yeah i will breastfeed too, but my other 2 not bf for very long (one month for 1st, 2 month for 2nd..) so will see how it goes if i can do it a bit longer, if not ill atleast just do a couple of months same as the others.

sleepyowl good luck for your scan! dont worry too much hopefully everything will be fine and you can just enjoy seeing ur baby
