Hi ladies-thought I would be adventurous & set up the new thread for the final leg of our journey Grin

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
wigglesrock · 09/02/2011 13:43

slowangels was replying on your birth announcements thread but it got eaten!! I sent photocards from Snapfish as thank you cards after baby christening. Photo was better and dd2 had lot more personality (was about 8 weeks after birth) I know a lot of people that use them as thank you cards for baby presents. I like Snapfish, have used them for party invites, calendars, notebooks etc (you can tell my two have doting grandparents), you also get envelopes with order.

PS Can anyone believe we are almost at the end of this thread?? Anyone would think we had nothing better to do than chat Grin

EauRouge · 09/02/2011 13:44

I knew this thread wouldn't last Grin but I am definitely going to give birth before the end of the next one!!

slowangels1 · 09/02/2011 13:54

Lol at eaurouges determination there Wink

I've used snapfish before wiggles and might go with them for it only I had a bad experience where I ordered tons of photos of my wedding to send out with wedding thank you cards (like tons of copies of only a few photos) and in one of them the colouring was so odd that it honestly made my mum look like she was a corpse Shock (really really blue face for some reason). It's sort of scared me off them a bit, but hopefully was just a one off. Will have to hope I can get a good picture of LO.

Thanks for comments re: weight gain - I thought 20lbs didn't sound like that much. I keep hoping that a really really rubbish pregnancy will equal a very angelic baby for me as I've gone through so much horribleness I deserve a nice sleeps-through-the-night baby

american and expat - that sounds promising :) I think I've been getting bhs again today but nothing exciting or eventful.

Btw forgot to share my DH being sweet moment - he asked me at the week end if I wanted a photo to take to hospital with me Hmm. I asked him why I needed one and what it would be of and he said it might help me focus during labour and maybe I could use a wedding picture of both of us . Was a bit taken aback - think he must be actually reading the Ina May book I left with him to flick through.

Still lots of niggles here, especially at night, M/W said she could feel babe's shoulders now, as head is so far down, even if its not doing anything ! I certainly lost weight BF and was very hungry and ate loads, very unfairly my friend fully BF twins for a year, and really didn't loose much wt. MW has booked me for a sweep Friday if nothing has happened, though she is obviously not convinced of the likelyhood of it causing action, but acknowledges for some people they are 'just the thing !' pink elephant hope everything works out okay and hubbard hope the position changes, and they are being very kind to you

wigglesrock · 09/02/2011 14:01

slowangels That's lovely, you've just reminded me that I took a photo of dd1 in with me when I had dd2. I'm having that been so ill throughout this pregnancy, will have angelic, night sleeping baby thoughts.

ledkr · 09/02/2011 14:03

hello all,you are taking your time now Delilah decided to wake 3 hrly thru the night Shock settles well after tho but still very tired.Me and dh are having a lazy day and watching the wire.
*angels8 I had 3 emergency sections and were all more painfull so maybe you got a point, mind you consultant did mine tho due to being my 4th and risk of bleeding so maybe just a good job.

Afternoon all,
Though I'd stick my head in and say hello...it's lovely hearing all the news of baby's arriving.
I'm now 6 days overdue, grumpy as hell and constantly tearful. I had a sweep last week and have been losing my mucus plug ever since as well as getting random twinges. Today's twinge of choice means I have almost lost use of my left leg! Booked in for another sweep tomorrow and although I'm trying not to pin all my hopes on it I reckon if that doesn't work I'll be booked in for induction next week and can kiss goodbye to a Birth Centre birth :-(
Not sure if I'm getting so stressed by it all I'm delaying labour? Can that happen? Like when you're period of delayed by stress?!

PDR · 09/02/2011 17:38

Hello ladies!

Re: weight gain - I think it depends where you are starting from Grin I am quite big anyway and I have only gained 2-3kg since my booking weight. If you think that the baby weighs over 3kg plus the placenta and fluid this probably means I have lost weight Hmm but that is no bad thing for me!!!!!

I had a show last night Shock was a bit scared as was quite a bit of blood and bright red to begin with so I called hosp and they asked me to go in and be checked. Of course all was fine and I went home after an hour. A few crampy pains since but nothing bad - blood/mucus is still coming away a bit as well.

Saw consultant today (after 2.5hr wait Shock!) and turns out baby is not huge afterall - only 6lbs12oz according to today's scan. Blood pressure was also fine - am really thinking the reflexology is helping with this. But did have +protein in my wee and +++blood which must be from my show. They have sent it off to the lab anyway.

We are off out for dinner in a bit then to NCT class so I might not post again till much later.

MizK · 09/02/2011 19:34

Evening all, hope everybody is doing well - sounds like things are developing nicely in some cases...

Am so ready to have this baby now. Don't get me wrong, I am absolutely petrified of giving birth but can't wait to see my little one! Really exciting chatting to DP about who it will look like, how excited DD and DS are etc...plus can't wait to sleep on my tummy again, eat ripe Camembert and drink gallons of prosecco!!!
angels - re baby weight - if it helps I have gained a far from dainty 40 pounds! think 30 of it is on my upper thighs by the looks of things - my legs are so cellulite covered they look like porridge wrapped in clingfilm! But it will go afterwards - eventually?

good luck to everyone who is having early labour signs, fingers crossed we all have fabulous births soon and can then join ledkr in discussing the finer details of baby poo x

debka · 09/02/2011 19:54

Hi everyone- well, they induced me again- and this time it WORKED!! A day of just backache, then some pains from about 5.30pm, waters broke at 7.30 and Sabine Hannah was born at 8.35pm. She weighed 10lb 5oz and came quickly (obviously!), naturally with no pain relief and easily with NO TEARS. Feel v proud of myself and my chubby healthy little girl. I feel GREAT, better than I have for about 9 months, but tired, will feed LO then off to bed with me soon.

Good luck to all, will catch up properly a bit later. xxx

wigglesrock · 09/02/2011 20:18

Debka really happy for you, beautiful, beautiful name, congratulations, take care xx

PinkElephant73 · 09/02/2011 21:11

Congratulations Debka and lovely name, a bit eek at her birth wrwight tho!

ElleB I feel the same (40+5 today) and have also wondered if feeling stressed about it is holding things up? so fed up of damn twinges that never come to anything. having a sweep tomorrow too (yuck) here's hoping it works.

Ledkr glad to hear Delilah is home and things are going better now

Angels1 re weight gain - mine has gone in fits ans starts, and I was quite worried that had only gained about 20 lb by 36 weeks. but have put on 10lb since then! my bump also looked small for ages but in the last month it has gone huge. I guess we are all different.

janedoe25 · 09/02/2011 21:34

Congrats debka! sounds like you had a good birth and the (not so) little one was eager to meet you!

knittakid · 09/02/2011 21:47

debka 10lb???? wow well done you! congratulations on your beautiful girl (great name btw)!!!

PDR hope everything is fine with you!
