Hi ladies-thought I would be adventurous & set up the new thread for the final leg of our journey Grin

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

ledkr - your PILs are completely without tact or class. Just when I think they can't possibly do anything worse, you post another story. Glad to hear D is improving though.

I'm trying not to feel too guilty about sitting on the sofa so much. There so much housework to do but I start to feel exhausted after 15 minutes on my feet. I still haven't finished packing my hospital bags Blush.

Breezey · 08/02/2011 13:40

Congratulations to all new arrivals, love the names, and pleased you got the HB worry.
Last day at work Friday, and had a lovely w/e doing not verry much, (after 4 hours searching for cot runners - presumably have been somewhere 'safe' for years, but decided not to worry just yet, as have crib for first months) Boiler still playing up, and getting lots of discomfort esp at night, but nothing definite. M/W appt today and getting anxious as hope for a home birth and she goes on holiday in 10 days, I'm now 39 weeks. Only 2 other m/w and don't know if they do, (or I want them to do ) home delivery. Eue like your advice about only taking on board the bits which suit, Good Luck to all those with activity today

slowangels1 · 08/02/2011 14:42

that's it - no more public places for me until after birth now. I cannot believe how many people were staring at me when I went to get my hair cut. I feel like a complete freak. My hairdresser didn't help by greeting me with the comment 'you're very large now arn't you' Confused

Kept getting what I think are BHs while out though - a tightening on the top of my bump and odd sensation lower down too. Had it whilst driving and then when walking to and from hair dressers - feels like things are warming up and I've never had so many, let alone so close together Hmm

PinkElephant73 · 08/02/2011 14:59

Congratulations to all the new arrivals! I am still here at 40+4 and getting bored of waiting now. Ds1 and ds2 are totally hyped up about the baby coming, it's like 10 Xmas eves rolled into one every day here with hopeful little faces appearing round the bedroom door every morning wondering if today will be the day!
I've been having a few episodes of bh/period type cramps but they have stopped again after a couple of hours.
Been to the midwife today and booked appt for sweep on thurs, so that's something to look forward to (not!) Head is now fully engaged so hopefully babes is ready to go. If not it's induction next weds probably and home birth out the window :(

ledkr · 08/02/2011 15:50

Drumroll please, delIlah is coming home! I can't believe it. am pleased but a little anxious too, ella doesn't know so she will have such a surprise after brownIes.
Angels sounds promising, you maybe next!

I walked to school today it was easier than when pg,
Been bleeding a lot tho so going to rest for few days now.

EauRouge · 08/02/2011 15:56

That's great news ledkr :)

PinkElephant Fingers crossed that baby comes soon and you get your home birth.

wigglesrock · 08/02/2011 16:03

Ledkr fantastic news, real little battler you have there, should be fun through the teenage years Wink Please try and take care of yourself now. Dh has done a brillant job at the hospital and he can continue doing it, rest, rest and more rest.

Hope things move for you pinkelephant

Have felt really hungry today, I know that doesn't sound that strange, but haven't really eaten for 9 months, now literally munching my way through cupboards Blush Baby is also moving an awful lot!!

slowangels1 · 08/02/2011 16:43

wiggles I'm glad you've finally got your appetite back - didn't take long did it Wink

ledkr fabulouso news re: d - I bet ellas face will be so chuffed when she sees her little sister is home again. Hope she continues to get better and better every day Grin

Thinking of debka and tarlia and wondering how they're getting along.

PDR · 08/02/2011 17:09

Fab news ledkr :)

Also wondering how the inducees are getting on!

Have been to visit a friend in hosp this avo with DH. You would not believe how many people who commented on how huge I am and asked if I should be going home via the maternity unit Hmm I wish!

smallblackflowers · 08/02/2011 17:15

ledkr brilliant news about D coming home today Smile

wiggles it must be wonderful to not be feeling sick after so long!

I've had a lovely birthday - DH completely surprised me with a Kenwood Chef - I have been coveting one for years Grin, went for lunch with friends and family, and the best present ever - I had a good night's sleep last night and the terrible pile situation is improving! Have been crampy again in the last couple of hours, so perhaps things are warming up too.

slowangels1 · 08/02/2011 17:34

am extremely Envy at sbf for her kenwood chef - I had a second hand 30 yr old one from MIL which I used all the time but it blew up Shock last year - making royal icing for the christmas cake clearly was too much for it to handle! Am now coveting a new one but DH says our kitchen now we've moved is too small to store it Hmm

knittakid · 08/02/2011 17:51

sbf me very Envy too at your chef!!! glad you had a nice birthday.

ledkr very happy for you!

Had my last day at work today, it went well, except for the traveling to a from... why is this city suddenly full of w*rs???? I am 9 months preg. I look 9 months preg and still have to ask to be given a seat??? oh, and spoiled uni t*ats leaving their baskets behind them so I have to move them before getting to the till... what is wrong??? as you can see, am in an awful mood, when should be really happy, poor DH was looking forward to me coming home but instead I just want to complain and complain, now have managed to offend him as said that i didn't want what he was going to cook for dinner... need some cheering up, might go and do some knitting.

hubbard86 · 08/02/2011 17:56

nice to "see" all the arrivals. I had a growth scan today and it's measuring 40wks and 8lb. But it has now moved out of head down and into an unstable transverse position (back along my ribs). So i now have to spend the nxt 2 weeks on the labour ward until my csec or hope my waters go naturally. Then they'll do it sooner. I am so upset. Spent the last half hour crying. I have a 2yr old ds i have to leave and it's killing me to think about it sad
Sorry for self centered post.

PDR · 08/02/2011 18:11

hubbard so sorry you have to stay in the hosp :( I have a 2yr old DS too so I know how you feel! Fingers crossed your waters break naturally and they will do it sooner :) Think watery thoughts! Grin!

wigglesrock · 08/02/2011 18:31

Hubbard thinking of you, hope waters go, or might they csec you early? I would hate to have to leave dds xxx

wigglesrock · 08/02/2011 18:34

Ps May have been overly optimistic on the food front earlier. Think it was that second Rice Krispie bar that pushed me over the edge Sad

knittakid · 08/02/2011 18:41

hubbard poor you! hope things move along and you don't have to be there for such a long time.
wiggles a second one is always dangerous.

tadjennyp · 08/02/2011 19:04

ledkr that's great news!
hubbard - sorry to hear that, hope it works out sooner.
Milk has come in, breasts are really engorged and sleepy head won't feed. Ouch!

40Weeks · 08/02/2011 19:45

Oh Hubbard that's horrid, why are they making you stay in? Really feel for you, poor thing.

Great news about D coming home ledkr, am thrilled for you. Hope Pils get embarrassing boils on their arses and have to sit on rubber rings for ever more, explaining to people that they were cursed for being such dickheads.

sbf you do realise that now you have a kenwood chef you are in a different league. It's like owning a Ford Focus and then being given a Ferrari! Very envious.

Knitta there sure are so many knobs about but don't let it spoil your eve, you don't have to deal with them any more!! Woo hoo

PinkiePoo · 08/02/2011 20:39

Hope you are ok hubbard hope it starts naturally and very soon for you.

As for me...i have been at hospital for better part of afternoon as been feeling trickles, checked me over and yep, my waters have broken. If i don't don't go into labour naturally tonight i am at half 7 am tomorrow being induced.

Cannot explain the shock....i am very excited but unbelievably nervous. I am not good with pain, but trying to be positive. Will keep u all updated as soon as i can x

40Weeks · 08/02/2011 20:52

Oh pinkie how exciting! Don't worry too much just deal with it one step at a time, and the epidural is possibly the greatest invention ever, so there's always back up! Good luck

knittakid · 08/02/2011 21:22

pinkie how exciting! best of luck!!!

Yes 40, thanks, trying to do that!

hubbard86 · 08/02/2011 21:56

thanks everyone for all the support. Still very tearful and in shock. From what i was told is that she has moved into an unstable transverse lie. Her back is under my ribs with her head on my left side facing down. Due to her position they are worried that if i start to contract while transverse the placenta will seperate from the wall. So i am under observation from tomorrow unless she turns again. Or until i start to contract/waters break then they will do csec asap. If nothing changes i have to sit and wait till the 24th for booked csec.

Good luck for tonight/tomorrow pinkie hope it goes smoothly

earlgreyismynectar · 08/02/2011 22:26

Wow lots to catch up on!!!

Good luck PinkiePoo!! How exciting, don't be nervous! You'll soon have your lovely baby in your arms!

Hubbard, I'm sorry to hear that, I hope you don't have to stay in too long & things move in the right direction, still, you're in the best place for you and baby to be taken care of. Good luck x

Congratulations on all of the new arrivals!!! All great names too! Enjoy those newborn cuddles!

Great news Ledkr! So glad to hear Delilah will be home with you all soon!

All the best Debka, Tarlia & SuzyM, look forward to hearing your news!

No news here, due date is tomorrow & I'm booked in for a sweep. Was very crampy and nauseous yesterday morning which reminded me of early labour with DD but alas it came to nothing (probably having to speak to my financial advisor & then discovering I had no elecrical power at home put paid to any ready for baby feelings!). Been on the ball and doing lots of walking and relaxing so please come soon! Thanks for feedback Wiggles & Angels re shooting pains, all part of the body getting ready as you say...

tadjennyp · 08/02/2011 22:49
