Hi ladies-thought I would be adventurous & set up the new thread for the final leg of our journey Grin

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Tarlia · 05/02/2011 17:58

Hope today went well, Jenny. I'm looking forwards to hearing your news.

Very pretty name, breastmilk, congratulations!

Good luck for tonight 40 ;)

Damn, forgotten who said theyd had their last day of work, but yay for maternity leave.

Blah, I'm a bit upset tonight, I had been looking forward to a long weekend with OH yesterday morning, ruined! Had MW at lunch time who sent me straight to the hospital for monitoring for suspected pre-eclampsia. All afternoon I thought I'd be going home soon, but had to stay over night. Same thing has happened today :(. I keep being told that I'll likely be induced at 38 weeks as I have had high bp since 25 weeks, and now yesterday have ++protien, with that alone thats what they want to do but ive had some tummy pain, sickness and headache. I'm of course worried for baby, but I hate hospitals, want to be home spending possibly last weekend with OH. There was so much I wanted to try and do :( now i dont know if i will be leaving here between now and friday. But at the same time, so excited we have an idea when baby may come, it's a roller coaster of emotions!

So sorry for the self indulged post, I really shouldn't complain after all the friends we've lost on this post. I'll be thinking of them this month, I cannot comprehend how they must feel.

I so hope you are all well and all the new babies are thriving!

Oneof4 · 05/02/2011 18:35

Tarlia - just sending some hugs and hope everything goes smoothly from here. It's difficult to cope with things when circumstances change so quickly and hormones are running high. Very best of luck.

ledkr · 05/02/2011 20:02

Hi all congrats and good wishes, all not good here, see update on aibu re urgent answers.
Will update soon xx

JustOneMorePlease · 05/02/2011 20:19

Thinking of you ledkr read the aibu thread, give dd1 lots of cuddles and take time to look after yourself. Please try to eat and get some sleep. Dh and the team in hospital will take care of dd2.

Wish I could make all these problems vanish for you. X

wigglesrock · 05/02/2011 20:22

Ledkr have posted on other thread, thinking of you all xx

PDR · 05/02/2011 20:36

Ledkr have also posted on other thread x

I feel very odd tonight. I have backache but more below the shoulder area than lower back... I am having what I can only think are random BH contractions but they are more like when the baby presses on your cervix but so much stronger and I have to stop what I am doing and wait for it to pass Confused. I have a thumping headache and heartburn is off the scale.

To conclude: I am feeling most sorry for myself and DH is working until midnight.

Tarlia are you in the hospital now? Your situation sounds similar to when I had DS1 - they basically told me I would not be going home until I had the baby but didn't know when they would induce me Hmm so very hard just waiting and not having a finish line in sight.

I have been taking my bp today as feeling so odd and is 146/96 :( Am not riniging in as have been advised up to 110 is ok Shock but I am hoping it goes down before my consultant appointment on Wednesday!

NeedToSleepZZZ · 05/02/2011 20:54

Just checking in, have only had a chance to skim through recent posts.

Huge congratulations tallulaha, no routine here either, just following Ben's lead and feeding ALL THE TIME!

ledkr have posted on your thread, my thoughts are with you.

Sending good labour vibes to everyone waiting for things to start Smile

Tarlia · 05/02/2011 21:25

As I said on the other thread, thinking of you all,
Ledkr x

Thank you, oneof4. yes, it's all the uncertianty and unknown that's the worst.

Yup, I've been in the hospital since yesterday's MW appointment, PDR. at least I know if they are going to induce me it'll be Friday as they do it at 38+0 here, but they are likely going to make me have an epi because of my bp which a) is likely not to work in my back and b) I'm pretty much terrified of. Bang goes my natural labour with early stages in the bath tub and mobile last. Still, it may not all come to that! They want the specialist to see me, but apparently labour ward has been a nightmare today, so I was just discussed at a meeting, with numbers and symptoms. I hope your headache goes soon, if not you should call in if that bp goes any higher!

wigglesrock · 05/02/2011 21:27

Tarlia thinking of you, good luck over the next few days.

PDR · 05/02/2011 21:51

Tarlia you poor thing - hope DH has stocked you up with magazines/books etc! Have you got a bedside TV wotzit? Hope so! At least Friday is not too long to wait! I think it helps to have the end in sight as well - I found it so hard just sitting in bed and waiting!

Have just taken some more paracetomol for headache and a diet coke (helps me with headaches when not pg so worth a try!) hopefully that and a good nights sleep will do the trick.

Just been to the loo and have a dodgy stomach as well so could be a bug I've picked up via DS's nursery Confused

WaddlingSheep · 05/02/2011 22:23

tarlia thinking of you!

Ooh PDR I wonder if you're going to be next? Wink

PinkiePoo · 06/02/2011 07:48

Poor Amanda Holden....what awful news! Couldn't bear to think about what she is going through. Also makes me very anxious...my mum had a stillborn after me, and I worry so much about history repeating!

Hope everyone else is ok...inc, Ledka. x x

Tarlia · 06/02/2011 09:28

Thank you, wiggles and wandering.

PDR, I do have a tv, but I don't speak enough of the language to understand most of the shows hehe. I do have BBC world news though and the odd show or film is in English. How are you feeling this morning? Hope the headache has subsided and bp lowered. Mine was 148/98 first thing this morning, yay!

Indeed, poor Amanda :( I just cannot comprehend how she must be feeling, especially since she miscarried last year too. I hope they recieve all the support they need at this traumatic time.

How is everyone this morning? Anything exciting/entertaining to share?

Ledkr, I do hope you and the girls are ok this morning. Thinking of you all still x

slowangels1 · 06/02/2011 10:53

tarlia thinking of you loads and hope BBC world news is enough to keep you busy (although I doubt it...) Glad bp lower though :)

PDR how are you this morning?

Will check out AIBU to see ledkrs situation and hope you're all doing OK over there in Cheltenham.

Feel really sad for Amanda Holden too - made me really teary when I hear the news this morning.

Sure I've missed loads of comments to reply to - sorry.

I cooked Dhs early valentines roast dinner last night and he told me he'd never seen so much food on one plate . But, he ate every single bit of it Wink....and then didn't move for the rest of the evening Confused. He seems to be on a DIY manic mode this week end - I think it must be the male version of nesting if there is one - he wants to get as many little odd jobs done before baby as possible. I guess I should be grateful but I'm feeling like I want to spend our last days as a couple with him to make the most of it.

knittakid · 06/02/2011 11:04

Started a post and lost it, where did it go????

was saying:
ledkr cannot even imagine what you are going through. The only insight I have in your situation is when my brother, about 8 years younger than me, was born as very ill, he had to be taken to another city to get the care he needed and I was left with relatives, felt very isolated as nobody explained what was going on. Being there for E and sharing with her your feelings is giong to make things a lot easier for both of you in the future. Let your DH look after little D as much as he can, it'd be invaluable time for them too and as others have said, she's being looked after, while you need to look after yourself.

Sorry wasn't going to say much and that's why I didn't reply in your thread but this turned out a bit long...

tarlia best of luck to you.

Dreamt last night with the LO for the first time since the night before the 20 week scan, and woke up with a warm glowing feeling, so off to make some profiteroles...

Tarlia · 06/02/2011 15:34

angles hope you enjoyed you meal. Bless, your Dh and his nesting. Bet the house is looking lovely! Are you all unpacked?

Yum, send some this way, knitta.

Yay, I'm home, under strict bedrest orders and back to hospital for more monitoring tomorrow - fingers crossed I'm not re-admitted. They have said it's def pre-eclampsia so have to be induced at 38 weeks, so it's all kicking off on Friday!

PDR · 06/02/2011 15:56

Hi all...

No exciting news I'm afraid. Headache has gone and not had BH at all today Hmm. We have been swimming and I made it into the pool but didn't do any actual swimming just lolling about Grin DH kept joking that my waters were going to break and there would be a tidal wave. Nice!

What is it about Sundays and nesting? I have just cleaned reorganised the kitchen and some of the utility room. Am thinking of moving onto the garage next but thought I'd have a sit down and check on MN first!

Tarlia glad you are home! So the countdown begins for Friday! Yay!

roundthehouses · 06/02/2011 16:40

ledkr am sorry to read your other post, hope you have managed to get some rest and really can only echo what others say about making sure you take care of yourself too, easier said than done though I am sure. Thinking of you all.

We´ve had a very busy but good weekend, ds is just so full on at the moment, WHERE do they get their energy?! Am very tempted to dunk myself in the bath but our bathroom door has swollen and won´t close so I can´t actually barricade myself in which means within about 3 mins of submerging myself and thinking "aaaaaah" ds bursts in ripping his clothes off saying "LET´S PLAY PIRATES MUMMY YAAAAAAAAAY" Confused

tarlia sorry about the pre eclampsia but great that it has been picked up and monitored and YAY! to having a baby date!

40Weeks · 06/02/2011 20:49

Oooh knitta make some for me too please, how exotic - have never tried to make them before, are they tricky?

ledkr how is D doing, are the anti-b's doing what they should? How are you feeling? What a rubbish start to family life for you and dh, I hope it's short lived and she is home soon.

tarlia this time next week your LO will be here! How are you doing with the PE? do you feel ill?

Needless to say we are not going out to dinner tonight as planned, as dh didn't ask his dps to babysit. On the plus side, we did get our new curtain poles and one set of curtains are up! This is a record for us as normally we buy something and then leave it in the box for a few months/years before we get round to putting it up. My mum will be in shock when she comes round next

knittakid · 06/02/2011 21:58

40, curtains you'll live with, a dinner would come and go... Smile Profiterols not really hard to make, I use the michel roux recipe and they are yummy!

hoosyermama · 06/02/2011 22:02

A bit of catching up...

Congratulations Breastmilk & Tallulah on your new arrivals! :)

Tarlia, good that the pre-eclampsia has been picked up, you'll have your little bundle SOON! How exciting. Take it easy & keep well.

Debka, sorry you didn't get the baby after all of that! Hopefully won't be much longer for you.

Ledkr, I haven't read your post yet but will do now, I hope Delilah and yourself are fine x take care.

I'm sorry if I've missed any other major threads, my memory capacity seems to be limited. I dropped out there as I viewed a property last week for the second time and bought it on Friday! I don't recommend buying a house a few days before due date but amazingly the stress hasn't sent me into labour. I'm hoping baby will be feeling that ETA is looming soon now that we have a house to move into. No other news here apart from the usual BH & shooting pains in my groin (yes) which stop me in my tracks. Anyone else had this? I wondered if it was maybe dilation??! Please come soon baby, DP home tomorrow but just for 10 days so it feels like the stop clock is on. Sorry for long post. I hope everyone is feeling well and let's hope we get another flurry of babies next week!

Oh by the way this is earlgreyismynectar!!! Changed my name & forgot to change it back!! I'll go back to Earlgrey!!! Whoops

wigglesrock · 06/02/2011 22:11

Earlgrey I get the shooting pains too, at one point thought it was SPD!! Hope you and DP have lots of lovely things planned for next 10 days Wink

Ledkr hope you're still checking in and wondering how today went. Love to you, Delilah, Ella and dh.

tadjennyp · 07/02/2011 02:22

Baby Samuel Jude born Saturday 5th February at 8lbs 8oz. Luckily a very short but powerful labour. Will post more later as we've just got home, but wanted to wish everyone else all the best, esp Tarlia and ledkr. (Sorry, haven't had time to read all posts properly.)

ZeroMinusZero · 07/02/2011 06:57

Many congrats, Jenny!

My first proper day of mat leave and I get up the same time as normal. Old habits die hard... (and baby wakes me up by kicking me hard)

ledkr · 07/02/2011 07:02
