Hi all,

Congratulations to tadjenny, girlafraid and worrymummy lovely news and lovely names Smile

angels as a bf peer supporter I second everything that eaurouge has said, and also that every time baby nurses they are doing wonders for your milk supply, so really important to be led by baby until your supply settles.

debka best of luck again for your induction - I hope you get to cuddle your LO tomorrow.Smile

My due date has passed without a twinge, although I'm glad as have been in excruciating pain for the last couple of days with what has been diagnosed as a thrombosis in one of my piles. I think it is settling now a bit though. Perhaps I'll get my baby for my 35th birthday tomorrow....

Tarlia · 07/02/2011 15:44

Wow, a day full of announcements, they are coming thick and fast now, ladies. Congratulations, Jenny, girlafraid and worrymummy. I love both Samuel and Celemintine - do you have a name yet girlafraid

Good luck tomorrow, Deb, bubs must be ready now!

Ledkr glad you are enjoying your baby snuggles, we'd love to see a photo of little D when you have time. Same with all the other babies -Photos ladies. Sorry about PIL I cannot believe how they are acting!! :(

Sooo, after going home yesterday on the condition I popped in today for bloods and monitoring, with my mild pre-eclampsia and induction for Friday. It's become severe over night and I've been readmitted :( induction will start at 8.15 tomorrow at 37+4. I'm on a rollercoaster at the moment, feel like I havnt had time to put my feet on the ground and will have baby before it or I are ready. Bah, best made plans, never work, however the saying goes. I'm just so glad I took the plastic off the mattress and put sheet on so it could air, got carseat ready and organised a pile of things for me incase admitted, though now it goes straight to labour and post birth bag I guess!? Sorry, longer than I anticipated!

Re bf, I'm planning on seeing which baby I get, but def feeding on demand for at least the first few weeks and then decide where to go from there. Just hope my baby isn't too tiddly, they guessed 3kg on Friday.

Sorry for all the things I missed, iPhones are a pain! Hope everyone is well x

wigglesrock · 07/02/2011 15:59

Tarlia good luck for tomorrow, know your head is probably all over the place, but could all be over this time tomorrow xx

worrymummy congratulations, lovely name

Nothing much happening here, still getting twinges etc, but nothing to make me think lazy lumps is on their way, mind you I'm not due until next week anyway.

EauRouge · 07/02/2011 16:01

Tarlia, best of luck for tomorrow, hope all goes smoothly.

SBF, have a fantastic birthday :)

No twinges here either but that's no surprise. I have been informed by several people that it would be more convenient if I had the baby this week. They're telling me, I can't even put my own shoes on Hmm

slowangels1 · 07/02/2011 16:26

congrats worrymummy (love the LOs name) and ouch to sbf for the piles - hope you get your birthday wish for baby to come :)

tarlia I've been meaning to say the same thing re: piccies of babies. Think needto is the only one whose baby on here I've seen. And Good Luck for tomorrow - hope everything runs smoothly.

Had friend over for lunch with her little 6m old who is the sweetest and spent the entire time staring at me like I was the most interesting thing ever Blush (the baby, not the friend btw). I wonder if the LO could sense the hormones in me in the same way as I think delia had a baby root around to be fed by her a few months ago Hmm

Am starting to get the family telephone calls of 'when is she coming, I need to organise transport etc to come down to visit LO after she's born' . And I thought I would be in for a quiet couple of weeks with just baby, DH and me to begin...

PinkiePoo · 07/02/2011 16:48

Wow....where do i begin.

Congrats worrymummy tadjenny and girlafraid Hope you are all doing well, being looked after and loving every single second with your new LO's.

Tarlia good luck for tomorrow, hope it goes well. At least you now don't have to wait the dreaded last few weeks feeling increasingly uncomfortable!!

debka good luck for induction number 2. I have everything crossed for you, apart from my legs which is pretty hard to do these days.

Nice day meeting my friends 6 wk old baby, so beautiful!! Had my baby shower yesterday, and completely overwhelmed. So many people there, lots of scrummy naughty food, and the amount of pressies she got.....she is a very lucky little girl!!! x

knittakid · 07/02/2011 17:23

Oh Congrats to the new arrivals!!!

Tarlia, lots of luck tomorrow.

Deliaksis, I am in exactly the same situation as you, and also finish work tomorrow!!! sooo happy...

Yesterday had pain in the upper-tummy for the first time ever and then at night had stomach cramps type pains... was getting excited, but then maybe I just ate too many profiteroles....Grin

Re routines, sod them i say! at least until they stablish themselves, in the first month at least I don't care if I live by night and sleep by day, poor thing will have gone through the most incredible thing ever so I'll just try and make his life as easy as possible. I don't believe you can spoil a newborn, but then I might be wrong and pay for it the rest of my life... will keep you posted Smile

ledkr · 07/02/2011 18:21

Routines! pah! Don't bother. D just took a bottle! Woo! She's really on the mend, good luck tomorrow girls, can't believe we all popping now and we've been thru it all together, feels like we are old friends

wigglesrock · 07/02/2011 18:56

Ledkr brillant news, absolutely delighted for you, no stopping her now xx

40Weeks · 07/02/2011 20:37

Ah worrymummy what great news, so pleased for you.

Pleased to hear your update ledkr you must be feeling more positive now.

Every day brings a new ache, pain and twinge and am wondering how I will ever know when it's the real thing kicking off. Am having some angel delight to help me get things into perspective Grin

lostfromoz · 07/02/2011 20:44

Good luck tomorrow Tarli and congrats to all the new babies! What lovely names they all have. Glad Delilah is feeding like a champ, ledkr.
I'm getting horrid leg / pelvis cramps that keep making me stop short and yell...quite alarming for people walking behind me on the tube. So relieved to have stopped working. Wish baby would come but seems like lots of others in the same boat!

smallblackflowers · 07/02/2011 20:46

ledkr that's brilliant. Onwards and upwards from now on Smile

tarlia good luck for tomorrow Smile

debka · 07/02/2011 20:58

tarlia I'll be rooting for you tomorrow from my hospital bed! Lets hope we're both on tomorrow announcing our new arrivals!

Welcome to baby Clementine too!

Good news about your test angels, one less thing to worry about :)

CantwaittoPopsy · 07/02/2011 21:15

Wow so many lovely babies CONGRATS to all the new mummies
I'm off work now so don't have computer out often (reminds me of work too much). Just getting used to having some time to myself as DD is still in childcare.
Loving reading about all the signs - not sure I have had any but epecting to be overdue again so trying VERY hard not to think about it at all (til I catch sight of myself in a mirror and thing JAYSUS it can't be long now!
Good luck tomorrow Tarlia - great that you won't be hanging around waiting - being induced is annoying but at least yoou are in hozzy and won't come out til you've got your LO with you ahhh
am watching OBEM listening to DD breathing on the intercom - is sending me all funny - must be the hormones but I can't get enough of her at the minute!
p.s. nesting has started chez pops - got a man in to clean the oven (OMG is amazing!!) and had heating system re-done - am gonna do the windows tomorrow - never had a chance to see how filthy they were til was at home in the day so much Shock

tadjennyp · 08/02/2011 05:48

Congratulations worrymummy and girlafraid! So lovely to see more babies arriving! Good luck tomorrow tarlia. Glad dd is on the mend now ledkr. Enjoy those snuggles - they smell so yummy at this age!

Feeding now so can't post easily. just wanted to catch up on the news.

ledkr · 08/02/2011 07:33

just wanted to share my news of my feisty daughter from dh,he said she was unsettled so popped out to see the nurse, when he came back she was fast asleep with the feeding tube pulled out and wrapped arounbd her fingers, looking very smug, they have left it out for now to see how feeds go but it made me laugh as she is a real little ledkr now.
good luck today and all you impatients remember how you felt at 3 months when it seemed like you would never get your baby and now its days away.Altho pile thrombosis does sound horrendous.Couldnt watch obem as i felt a bit jealous of it all going smoothly. Hmm
We are going to have a little break at half term.prob in a log cabin ain middle of nowhere keep d away from all the germs and also avoid a n onslaught of term time workers (yes mil im talking to you)im not sure how much support dh is getting from them but ive heard nothing.i asked him one day if he'd spoken to her and he said yes she doesnt like he name-this was when she was at her illest- grrrrrrrrrrr.

WaddlingSheep · 08/02/2011 07:46

Hey everyone!

Wow, I missed some action yesterday! All these birth announcements Grin. The babies really are coming thick and fast aren't they? Making it seem so real!

Congratulations to Tadjenny, Girlafraid and worrymummy! Hope I haven't missed anyone. Hope you're all doing well!

Glad little D is doing better Ledkr, that's wonderful! Smile

Tarlia good luck for today! Thinking of you.

Debka good luck to you too. Hope it works this time!!!! Have everything crossed for you!

Nothing much to report here. Been feeling a bit crampy and backachey and loads of braxton hicks. Getting a bit impatient now but still trying to make the most of being pg [trying to be positive emoticon] Hmm.

Knitta agree with everything you said re routines and not being able to spoil a newborn etc.

Ooh and I finally have my hospital bags packed!

PDR · 08/02/2011 08:54

GOOD LUCK today for debka and Tarlia! Looking forward to your announcements!

Who watched OBEM last night? I thought some of the midwives were quite harsh at times did anyone else? Esp with the woman who wanted an epidural and they wouldn't let her - perhaps it was just the editing but the seemed to just give her some pethidine so she was off her face and left her too it all night Shock I would hate to be so out of control....

Having a quiet morning this morning - DH has got DS up and taken him to nursery and I am watching crap TV in my pjs :) I find it quite hard to do nothing but realise I won't get another chance for a while!

EauRouge · 08/02/2011 09:11

I am still avoiding OBEM! When I had DD the MWs fobbed me off a bit when I asked for an epidural but I'm glad they did because I really didn't want one and I was able to go home the same day. Turns out when I was begging for an epidural I was in transition so I don't think that even counts Grin This time I have put in my birth plan 'please prevent me from drowning myself when I'm in transition'. You know, just in case.

Anyone else getting twinges at night and then nothing during the day? It's driving me nuts, I keep hoping it's the start of something and then it stops, grrr!

Saw the MW yesterday and she says baby has definitely dropped down a bit but is not engaged yet. She thinks it's a boy, I still haven't got an inkling either way.

PDR · 08/02/2011 09:19

Eau I am getting lots of twinges during the day/evening mostly but they never come to anything. I am so ready to have the baby now...!

I am open to having an epidural (had one last time with no probs) but I definately don't want any pethidine. Ideally I would just manage with G&A but I know my pain threshold is pretty low Grin!

I am really craving salty things this morning - would love some crisps or maybe some egg fried rice Confused Sadly it's only 9.20am!

slowangels1 · 08/02/2011 10:02

PDR that exact thing re: mws refusing epidural and giving pethadine without really even asking her happened to my friend - they made her wait until she was 8cm before giving her epi and never even mentioned g&a as an option to her. I have specifically put on my birth plan I don't want pethidine and I will want an epidural.

eau I'm getting lots of pressure/pain etc in evenings and nights but generally much less in the day too.

I'm getting really thirsty at the minute - must've had at least 1 litre already this morning

PDR don't let the early hour stop you from some lovely egg fried rice Wink

ledkr glad mini ledkr is showing good signs of feistyness so early - she'll be singing fairytale of new york with you with lots of attitude before you know it (if I remembered the song correctly).

wigglesrock · 08/02/2011 10:10

EauRouge I'm getting loads of twinges, etc in the morning but they usually disappear around afternoons!!! I don't watch OBEM either.

I've never had an epidural but have had yummy low dose pethedine Grin. Am obviously suffering from some low grade guilt re dds. Have taken dd2 to Tescos twice this week to pick up some bits and pieces and have been talked into several new toys.

PDR If you manage to get some egg fried rice, will you send over some sweet and sour pork.

Tarlia Debka Thinking of you.

EauRouge · 08/02/2011 10:17

I had pethidine as well, I loved it but I can see why some people wouldn't!

Yes, my DD has been fairly spoilt the last couple of months too. DH just bought her a Lightning McQueen toy (she's obsessed ) but we've decided to save it until baby comes along which hopefully won't be too long!

My MW did mention about offering a sweep at 40 weeks but she said it was very much up to me, unlike the MW I had when DD was born who pretty much railroaded me into it Angry

knittakid · 08/02/2011 10:31

Morning all.
ledkr, soooo glad little D is showing signs of her character and making her view known! you trip plans sound great, very jealous! where would you go? (don't have to answer if you think someone might read this and crash it...) I know it must be upsetting to be in that situation with the pils, they have behaved like idiots the whole time, why would the name be an issue when more important things are happening? they don't deserve any of your attention right now, or later IMO.
