niamh29 Sounds like a rough night. Hope you're able to get more rest tonight.

I don't think I've experienced any BH at all. I occasionally get a very heavy feeling low down in my abdomen, but not the sudden tightening I've heard about in relation to BH. So at this point (I'm 37 +2), I've no idea if baby will come early or late or be properly punctual. Not tired of being pregnant, but definitely eager to meet her at last!

KPidgeon Your new places sounds lovely. Good luck with the move. I hope it's not too much work getting settled in with a tiny baby demanding your attention.

Hope the chicken pox are gone soon, Hattie.

A quiet weekend at home with the cats sounds nice, Catherine. Good luck finishing the blanket and I hope your last two weeks of work fly by.

Not much news here. Just feeling very, very big. Turning over in bed is a challenge these days, but I was thrilled to sleep a solid five hours in a row the other night. That was a first in a long time.

Hope everyone's having a lovely weekend and all the new babies are doing well.

niamh29 · 26/02/2011 22:26

5 hours! That's brilliant, Im normally up every 2 hours to pee.

My BH dont feel like a major tightening but it's achy, period pain like feeling that's just uncomfortable. None tonight so hoping to sleep well.

Honeymoonmummy · 26/02/2011 22:41

I don't seem to get BH, didn't last time either. Am currently listening to hypnobirthing CD so shouldn't really be on MN at the same time! Wink

EvianBaby · 26/02/2011 23:17

Niamh - here's hoping our births go the way we both want/hope! Good luck for yours!

honeymoonmummy - that made me laugh, on MN whilst listening to the hypnobirthing CD!

Am just sitting down for the night as have been upstairs trying to sort nursery out. DS was living between this room and his new bedroom so finally got it sorted tonight - it was stopping me sleeping (!), well that and various pregnancy related ailments!

Might have a cup of rasberry leaf tea and chill out for a bit before attempting sleep.

Is anyone planning on having a baby this weekend?!? I am eagerly anticipating our next birth announcement. Smile

Hope you're all well and the new babies are doing well too.

1Catherine1 · 27/02/2011 01:37

Well we haven't heard from Strangeways today Grin - Happy Due Date! Lets hope you're in the 5% of births that are on time :)

Expecting 15 babies in the next week - how exciting!

I have set us up a home in post natal in anticipation of an influx of babies. It's over here

Larty74 · 27/02/2011 09:43

Morning all!

LO LOVED the panto last night-kicking non-stop! so much so I spent half of it in the loo.

After about 5 mins of climbing into bed and getting comfortable I felt some er, leakage suddenly happen, more than has ever happened. so I got up, went to the loo, and found quite a bit of very white discharge (sorry, tmi)Blushand fluid, enough to change my pants anyway. went back to bed, felt it one or two more times, and, nothing since! a start perhaps?! who knows.

thanks for new thread muser

jammiedodger2 · 27/02/2011 10:24

Hi Ladies
Went out for an early supper with my friend yesterday which was great! She is lovely so did 'get it' in the end.
With DS i walked miles to get him out and i'm a bit worried that this one is going to stay put as i'm having to spend so much time sitting because of my back.
Also having loads of BH contractions and was up half the night last night but don't think anything is about to happen iminently. Am looking forward to hearing about all the new arrivals due!
jx

StrangewaysHereICome · 27/02/2011 11:01

THanks for thinking of me in the early hours Catherine Wink!!

I'm still here Confused! Midwife has just been, no signs of anything much. THis is now the longest I have ever been pregnant (dd1 arrived at 2am on her due date and dd2 was over a week early). So I am in new territory here and I am not sure I like it Hmm.

I managed a reasonable night's sleep last night, unlike the night before when the dreaded niggles kept me awake for ages!

I can request a sweep from anytime tomorrow if I want but I might just wait a bit longer and see how desperate I get - I am a bit of a whoopsy about it tbh. 12 days still the threat of induction .... oh help please let this baby come soon I can't possibly go on too much longer like this, I will explode!!

We need another baby announcement to cheer us all up!!

Jenchandler · 27/02/2011 11:21

Morning all,

Hope everyone had a restful night. Its been chaos here - plumber and builder destroying our house but its all fixed now! Phew.

Had a few days of niggles but it all seems to have settled again. Planning on walking a long way over the next few days! Hubby is also taking me on a surprise day out tomorrow - need to wear something smart and be ready to go out at 1pm. Posh lunch maybe??

Congrats to all those who have had their babies! Am very jealous. Strangeways - hope baby makes an appearance ASAP! Good luck to all those due this week.

Right, I better go..need to finish clearing up the destruction that the builders left! And I'm still in my PJs...!!!xxx

highlandbird · 27/02/2011 11:50

Eek, am 38+2 with my 1st and new to MN, but sooooo great to read about other women's experiences, live in the middle of nowhere so don't get a chance to go to any groups or social stuff. Have had a really easy pregnancy so far but last couple nights no sleep at all, BH getting much stronger and lower back twinges as well as CTS in my hands and wrists :( so much for getting as much rest as possible before the big day!! How much of your birth experience do you reckon relates to experience your mum had? Mine was early with myself and my brother so have convinced myself I'll be early too.....but maybe wishful thinking!! Also, anyone else worried about being far from the hospital? I'm an hour and a half's drive away (and thats a midwife led unit)....if there's any complications its over 2 hours, luckily my DP is a good driver and calm in emergencies as I don't think I will be!
Anyway, good luck to everyone that's due imminently, I'm spending my last couple of quiet weeks knitting and putting my feet up :)

highlandbird · 27/02/2011 11:57

Should have said....my due date is 12th March, same as Medee, and I don't know if its a boy or girl! Also, saw that honeymoonmummy was listening to her hypnobirth cd whilst on MN, made me laugh....I can't get more than 5 mins in without falling asleep, and not a hypnotic sort of daze either but a full on snoring and dribbling on the arm of the sofa sort of sleep (maybe I should try it at night when I CAN'T sleep :o )

1Catherine1 · 27/02/2011 12:14

Highland welcome to MN and the March thread. Hope you enjoy the last few weeks of rest and knitting. I have officially given up knitting after finishing my blanket yesterday! GO ME! - only took me 3 months Confused I just have to finish embroidering the hearts which will be done today then I'm all done.

I wouldn't get that excited over your mums experience and yours - it makes no difference what so ever. I asked my MW the very same question at my booking in appointment. If I was anything like my mum my LO would be born already - I'm 37 weeks today and my mum never carried past 36 weeks with any of her 4 children. Doesn't stop my mum believing that my DD will be here imminently though. :)

Just adding Highlandbird on the list:

This thread is not showing up for me in threads I'm on or on the antenatal page. Weird,

Medee · 27/02/2011 13:17

ooh, I have a due date twin at last! Welcome Highland. You'll be a Scottish lady too then?

EvaLongoria · 27/02/2011 13:36

hi all. I cant believe some of. you had babies already. congrats to new mums and babies.

I finally finished all my college work but been sick since. according to doc it was tonsillitis which was funny cos mine was removed when I was 8 years old. so just throat infection really and now suffering from really bad itching and migraines and just been given codeine to take but not helping much.

apart from all that and having 3 year old dd at home this past week I managed to paint her room a.lovely pink and make a fairy themed room which she adores and yesterday managed to paint the nursery yellow. we don't know the sex and Im not sure about the theme as yet but will.decide this week.

also getting really bad BH. or at least that's what I hope never had before with Dd. getting really scared and paranoid about trying for a VBAC but booked for.c-section on 23rd if baby doesn't come on its own by 18th. wanted to change for ELCS for 11th March but apparently cant change it.

Good luck with all the births. are there a post-natal thread yet

1Catherine1 · 27/02/2011 14:50

Muser it sounds like you have accidently hidden it. You need to unhide it in your "Customise" page. How did you find it though if its not in ante-natal or threads you're on?

OP posts:
highlandbird · 27/02/2011 18:02

oooh, well done Catherine finishing your blanket, took me 4 months to finish the little sweater I've been working on, but being pretty much sofa bound the last couple of weeks (can't walk very far anymore due to pain in hips and pubic bone) have managed a pair of booties and a hat and now starting on a tank top :) I know I won't get time to do anything this relaxing after baby arrives so making the most of it!
Shame that experiences don't necessarily mirror those of your mums, mine had 2 really good births and both early but good weight etc, she was convinced I would be also and now resorts to calling daily just 'to make sure everythings ok'!!
Medee, a due date twin, yey!! How are you getting on? I'm a Welsh lady...but living in Scotland!!

Muser · 27/02/2011 18:36

Thanks Catherine, I had hidden it somehow. Back now. I got to it by hitting the back button on my browser.

Medee · 27/02/2011 20:13

Not bad thanks, Highland, a bit tired and achey. Just finished work on Friday there, so looking forward to a long lie tomorrow!

TooImmature2BMum · 27/02/2011 20:31

Hi Highland!

Both my parents have stepped up the phone calls, too. My dad panicked on Thursday after failing to get hold of me on Wednesday - first I had my stepmother on the phone, and then Dad himself 45 minutes later just to check I hadn't gone into labour yet. Hmm It is sweet, but I was like 'Dad, I will tell you when I go into labour!' I'm not even overdue yet! I am getting tired of saying 'no news yet/nothing happening yet' or variations on the above.

I was so convinced I would be early that I can't remember what time my MW appt is on Tuesday - when the appt was made nearly 2 weeks ago I didn't bother listening because I was so sure LO would have arrived before now. Blush Will have to call the practice tomorrow and find out.

Is anyone else's DH getting tired of waiting? DH said yesterday the suspense was getting to him and was complaining about how hard it is to plan anything when you don't know when the baby will come. He comes from a highly punctual family, unlike me, and waiting for Mother Nature to exert herself is getting to him! Grin

NowPanicAndFreakOut · 27/02/2011 21:50

I definitely should not have started watching "Toughest Place To Be A Midwife" - totally heartbreaking. Makes me feel very thankful for the treatment we get.

Am having v strong BHs today - and feeling very grumpy - my mum even disinvited me from dinner and told me to rest as I was so snappy! Hope everyone else's Sunday better.

Lozario · 27/02/2011 22:01

Ah NowPanic that's funny your mum disinvited you!! I know what you mean though. I've had enough now. No BHs here today, but my right foot has swelled up massively, it's really weird and pretty painful to walk on. DS1 is 20 months old now and I'm a SAHM so a bit worried about how I'll cope this week - I spent all afternoon today in bed! Oh well I'm sure DS will be happy to lie in the lounge playing lego with me all day, plus he still has a daytime nap thank GOD so I can put my feet up then too.

TooImmature I'm 37 weeks this week so only just term, my DH hasn't seemed to have clocked that it's potentially imminent yet bless him. To be honest I'm thinking I will be late again, which is a bit depressing but keep telling myself it's not forever!! We're the other way around to you guys though - I'm the punctual one, and he has never really had any idea about how pregnant I am this time... last week when he was panicking about our builders not being finished, he kept saying, "But you're 39 weeks!!!" I was like, um... no I'm not?!

Jenchandler it's awful post-builders isn't it- I've spent the weekend peeling the layer of dust off of EVERYTHING. Plus now they've painted the door and window of DS's room, neither shuts, so now I have a handyman coming this week to fix them!! Hmm HATE having builders in!

highlandbird welcome, I'm a welsh lady too but living in London.

Which reminds me, anyone else having their baby at King's in London?

Medee · 27/02/2011 22:11

I decided that was not a programme to be watching, Nowpanic

Jenchandler · 27/02/2011 22:17

lozario - its a complete pain. I'm glad they are gone! Have they finished at yours? Keep an eye on your foot - watch out for possible DVT (not wanting to scare you). I went to uni and lived in cardiff for 7yrs, my hubbie is welsh and we live in London. hope you enjoyed the rugby at the weekend. Booked at queen Charlottes.

Getting lots of txts and phone calls to find out if anything has happened - everyone seems very disappointed when I tell them No! My girl friends all came round for a girlie night last night and surprised me with a pile of presents for myself and baby! Very sweet.

Hope all are OK anad hanging on in there xx
