Sam that is exciting - lots and lots of luck for D Day!

sittinghippo · 22/02/2011 22:20

Kagey I had my VBAC appointment with consultant at 36 weeks, and there was no more to it than 5 minutes where he had a feel, agreed baby was head down and said there was no reason he could see that I couldnt attempt VBAC. And off I went. Bit of a disappointment after a three hour wait...

Did get me to make an appointment for 40weeks so if baby hasnt arrived by then I will be examined and then next step will be discussed.
Let us know how you get on tomorrow.

Kagey · 22/02/2011 22:45

Thanks sittinghippo I will let you know if they provide any more detail!

coraltoes · 23/02/2011 06:54

Sorry been so quiet for the last few days.

Congratulations to Jeffily, Mendip, afterIVF and Muser!!!! A gaggle of girls for the thread- wonderful!!

Nothing new here, still the odd dull pain, more so after walking, lots of BH after walking too. Lets see what develops over the next week...come on baby we want to meet you!!

Larty74 · 23/02/2011 08:56

Thanks very much Jeffily and Evian - what nice things to say. Feeling a bit better, it all just seemed so abrubt! Evain Your DH's response sounds just like mine which I couldn't help but laugh out loud at both. Smile

Sam26oscar thinking of you today/tomorrow!

RockChick1984 · 23/02/2011 10:32

Congratulations to the 4 new mums we've got!

I had a bit of a scare last night, started getting really bad pain in my lower back (not like normal backache I've been getting, about 50 times worse) so dh rang labour ward for advice once it had been there for about 3 hours and paracetamol or changing position hadn't made a difference. They made us go into hospital! I was so scared in case it was everything starting, am 36+4 at the moment, but after 2 hours of monitoring, poking and prodding apparently baby's not ready to make an appearance yet! Eventually got home at 4.30 this morning. The dr never did tell me what has caused it, just gave me some cocodamol and said to see how it goes!!! Anyone else had anything like this?

KTisPG · 23/02/2011 10:53

Just popping in from the March 2008 antenatal thread [WHERE DID THE TIME GO????] to say good luck everyone. March babies are lovely. Cheers Wine!

KPidgeon · 23/02/2011 12:12

Thanks to the past March mums for your nice words! How lovely.. nothing much to report here.
Congratulations to afterivf
Enjoying my maternity leave but had forgotten how dire daytime TV is! About to try to do some yoga and guzzle some raspberry leaf tea.

Lozario · 23/02/2011 13:13

It's so nice hearing from the March Mums! CRazy to think this time next year we'll be saying the same to the March 2012 Mums! :)

I had approx 3 hours sleep last night, maximum. I feel like I have feet actually behind my boobs now!!! It's SO uncomfortable, I don't think this baby is massive but I have quite a small frame and my ribcage is really feeling the strain - had the same with DS1. I'm only 36 weeks so potentially have another 4 (or up to 6!!!) weeks of this to go!!!! ARGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fortunately DS1 is currently in bed, the builders have finished in his room (hurrah!) and so I'm going to lie on the sofa and watch Lost...

emma31177 · 23/02/2011 13:23

am 35 weeks when do we bloom ??????

both my ds and dd are born in march its seems so strange to have a 3rd one due march to
this maternity leave is a bit borring even more when the weather is rubbish at least with the april school holidays we will all have our babies to play with lol
have a great day everyone xx

Medee · 23/02/2011 13:53

pidgeon I?ve got all of this series of Glee so far on the digibox and all manner of other things zapped ready for my maternity leave, so that I don?t have to watch daytime TV!

me23 · 23/02/2011 14:08

Congratulations afterivf Smile
Thanks to the march mums for popping by.
I'm 36 weeks today, while I should be relaxing and looking forward to baby instead I have been worrying and writing letters to the head of midwifery about how some of the mws have been obstruting my plans to have a homebirth-when I know my rights and have midwifery knowledge (am a student mw) so the reasons they are listing are not valid and even if they were it would still be my decsion not theirs.

1Catherine1 · 23/02/2011 16:56

Medee - Jealous of your self constraint! I have been recording a few series of CSI (only the original - the rest annoy me) only to have watched them all already Blush I couldn't resist - so I still have nothing saved up for my ML.

Good luck tomorrow Sam! Will be thinking of you :)

37 weeks on Sunday - sometimes am sure baby wants to come early but most of the time I'm convinced she's going to hold out till 42 weeks. I've had enough of being pregnant as there is so much to do and my OH is useless and I'm just not up to it. My car went and broke on me 2 days ago which has coincided with the MOT due next Tuesday. Not the time to be spending a fortune repairing my car when I've a baby to finish buying stuff for! Also not the time to be without a car though. Hmm

KPidgeon · 23/02/2011 17:25

Medee this is my mistake- no digibox! And only 5 terrestrial channels- terrible! We keep saying we'll get a digibox when we move but I feel this may have been a mistake!! Have been using iplayer and borrowing lots of films and boxsets though..

I would read but the book I'm on at the moment is pretty scary so I can only read it when I have company- daft hapath that I am. Want to hurry up and finish it so I can read something cosier!

Argh- Catherine - sorry about your car. What a pain.

Just booked to view a flat on Saturday pm. Fingers crossed it's a good one as I don't want to be looking when I'm about to drop!

Me- hope you get the homebirth you want.

cherub59 · 23/02/2011 19:35

*rockchick" I had similar at about 36 weeks (am 39 weeks tomorrow) with one night of really horrible pains where I thought I was going into labour (and this is pregnancy #3 so I should really know better! Started geting really uncomfortable at about 8pm and terrible back ache and waves of pain through whole tummy till about 1.30pm when managed to go to sleep and when woke up a couple of hours later it had all gone and went to work as normal - most wierd as never happened like that in previous pregnancies!

And hasn't happened since - am now desperate to get started as DS1 was 10 days late and DS2 was 10 days early and I don't want to end up late again!

sam26oscar · 23/02/2011 19:39

Thanks again for all your good lucks ladies!!

OMG its going to happen in the morning how surreal is that!!!

I am so not going to sleep tonight am i??!!!

Well, not sure when i will be back on, although i have heard you can get internet by your bed as well as sky t.v (whoop whoop!!) so will update when i can!! I feel i may have the first boy birth on this thread although we don't know the flavour but just a feeling!!

Lots of love to everyone xx

StrangewaysHereICome · 23/02/2011 20:43

oooh oooh oooh best of luck Sam will be thinking of you - how exciting Grin. No I can't imagine you will sleep much tonight. Can't wait to hear the news Grin.

Nothing happening here - feel mighty uncomfortable today and really struggled with my daily walk round the village. A few cramps but not much else.

Lozario you have my sympathy with the rib pain, mine are still really sore, I wish I could recommend something to stop it but I can't (except giving birth perhaps!)

Hattie05 · 23/02/2011 20:47

Hi all

Rockchick - in my first pg i suffered with excruciating back ache, it was so bad i used to be wriggling around and sobbing not being able to find any comfort. It'd mostly be in the evenings i remember, midwives just nod and looked sympathetic when i told them so never got an answer either, but thought i'd just let you know you're not alone. Its awful and i've always been afraid of it in my subsequent pregnancies but not had it again - so i wonder if it was baby on nerves or something? Did you try hot water bottles? or a tens machine? not great, but kind of distracts from the pain a little.

Wow good luck sam!

me23 why are they trying to say no to homebirth? Hope you get what you want.

coraltoes · 23/02/2011 21:05

all the best for tomorrow Sam!!
