Jeffily good luck!! thinking of you!!

Kpidgeon Vanilla ice-cream is THE best remedy Wink - seriously, Rennies don't come close. Was going to say if sugar is still bad maybe frozen yoghurt would help too. I really find the combo of dairy and frozen helps massively.

KPidgeon · 15/02/2011 13:38

Yum- thanks Coral. I'm definitely going to get some on the way home tonight & if my husband questions it I'll say it's medicinal and presribed by my Mumsnet experts! x

Lozario · 15/02/2011 13:55

OMG it's crazy our babies are starting to make their way now - good luck Jeffily, I reckon this will jump-start the more "in denial" of us (ie me for a start!!!) to pack hossie bags!!!

Although DS1 and I are at my mums in Devon at the mo whilst we have decorators in back home in London, sorting out DS1's room for us before the baby comes, re-plastering and all sorts of things DH and I are rubbish at. DS1 is still a bit poorly though after puking all weekend and we both still have a lingering cold, so the result is, he's been asleep for the majority of the time we've been here! 14 hours last night and nearly 2 now for his nap, bless him. He needs to have a word with the new baby when it comes, I want another sleeper! Mind you, DS1 was rubbish for the first months, think they all are though aren't they. (Apart from DH who apparently slept through the night from day 1... not quite sure I believe MIL but still!)

So I'm enjoying stuffing my face, not doing any washing or ironing and generally being LAZY. Better not get too used to it... Shock

sam26oscar · 15/02/2011 15:08

Hi Ladies, OMG can't believe we might have a couple of real babies soon!!!
hope all goes well, jeffily you are only one day after my original due date before i got my elcs date.... which means theoretically (spelling????) i could go into labour anytime myself....eeek!!!!!

Well, we all went up to DH home town, Middlesbrough for the weekend.. a 5.5 hour trip from Somerset Shock as DH and DS had a special tour of Middlesbrough football club, and meet and greet type of affair with the players (as you can probably tell not that into football myself!!!) and i had a massage which was FAB!! I have even slept for 6 hrs straight thru since then!!
Consequently, i have a back and leg massage booked for tomorrow evening Grin

As i was squatting on the side of the A19, with DS standing guard ( Blush ) i thought maybe i should have bought my maternity notes with me for this trip!! Is anyone else very forgetful about taking them out with them???

Braxton Hicks are getting very strong and baby movements are really quite painful now!! I don't want to complain as i am well aware that many people would kill to be able to feel like this but i am ready for it to be out now...well, physically ready... still getting my head mentally ready in having 2 children Wink

Medee · 15/02/2011 16:01

sam, I read by this stage you should have your notes with you at all times in case you go into labour but must admit mine are still at home. As I live so close to the hospital , figure it wouldn?t be that big a deal for me or MrM to stop in and collect them, unless things are going very fast in which case your notes probably won?t matter anyway! I am going to my hometown this weekend though, and my notes and hospital bag are coming with me ? I don?t want to go early but if my baby were born in the same town as me and MrM that would be quite nice for the birth certificate!

sam26oscar · 15/02/2011 16:09

See, i didn't even think about the hospital bags Blush God i am so crap!!!

spilttheteaagain · 15/02/2011 16:57

Just to add to the general chorus of Good luck jeffilys! I reckon she's go into labour overnight. Looking forward to hearing your birth story Smile

Jupiter118 · 15/02/2011 19:49

So no news yet from jeffily???

I have chilled out quite a lot today - ought to do washing etc, but cannot be added.

Is there anyone knowledgeable out there as finding myself constantly wondering how much longer it might be. So... I have lost mucous plug (which was grim), have periody cramps off and on, lower back ache off and on and hideous braxton hicks and general tightening - lots of. Cervix was closed sat am, but now baby right way round feeling lots more pressure down below. No idea what going into labour feels like as induced with DS. Sorry not good at no knowing of any kind and worried that the hideous b hicks could go on for 5 or more weeks. Sorry to moan!!!

Mmmm having m and s valentines meal tonight as is DH's bday - yummy. Tis highlight of day, maybe week.

Jupiter118 · 15/02/2011 19:50

Arsed btw not added - bloody corrective spelling!

Medee · 15/02/2011 20:15

I've packed my hospital bag tonight!

niamh29 · 15/02/2011 20:25

Wow, I can't believe we nearly have our first baby announcent! I feel like I'm still ages away but it's only 5 weeks so I guess not that long really.

Best of luck Jeffily, will be thinking of you!

Was at doc today, all well but baby is diagonal with head just under my right rib, she seemed concerned that if I went into labour myself the cord could prolapse or compress so i'd have to hot foot it to the hospital and have an emergency cs, bit of a worry alright, she said that because I haven't had early labour before I should be ok but if I had any suspicions I should go to the labour ward and get checked out.

Kagey · 15/02/2011 21:15

Jeffily I am so super excited for you and hope you are all ok!

The next 5 weeks are going to go so slowly as I heave my huge bump around. Fortunately I am managing the SPD quite well by doing very little as often as I can :)

I guess I better get a wriggle on with packing hospital bag - I've bought most things for it, but I need to actually pack it. DD was 12 days late so I think this is making me complacent.

superpenguin · 15/02/2011 21:17

oooh I wonder if Jeffily's had her baby yet?!

Muser · 15/02/2011 22:16

Very quick one. I am delighted to announce the safe arrival of Baby Girl Muser. Little bit unexpected. But I am besotted.

Jupiter118 · 15/02/2011 22:28

OMG congrats muser that is awesome!! Jx

EvianBaby · 15/02/2011 22:40

Wow Muser congratulations!!!! Looking forward to hearing all about her arrival, name, weight etc. Enjoy every minute, I bet she is amazing!

Take care x

1Catherine1 · 15/02/2011 22:48

Wey hey!! Congratulations Muser Hope you are both doing well! x

Larty74 · 15/02/2011 22:57

Well done Muser so pleased for you! wow how exciting!

Hattie05 · 15/02/2011 23:01

Wow! congrats Muser! what a lovely thing to say - besotted Smile Can't wait to hear more!

Jeffily - thinking of you! bet its all happening now!

Nesting kicked in this weekend - decided to get dp to totally rearrange all three bedrooms swapping bedrooms around etc. now i'm left with the sorting and organising finding homes for it all! Havn't even begun washing baby clothes and moses basket covers yet! When i get BH's i allow myself to be briefly excited that it could be the start - and then i think oh no! not yet i havn't washed your vests and babygrows! Smile

Watched OBEM last night which i usually love and blub too. But last nights girl in waterbirth/hypnobirth freaked me slightly as it brought home very vivid memories of that scary stage just before you start pushing when you think you can't cope. I'm normally quite chilled about the birth, but that freaked me slightly! But hey ho gotta do it to meet our babies!
Looking forward to some birth stories soon.

NowPanicAndFreakOut · 15/02/2011 23:46

Wow congratulations Muser how wonderful! Hope you are both doing well. Xxx

RockChick1984 · 16/02/2011 01:25

Congratulations muser!!! hope everything went well for you!

Had a bit of a scare today, went to see midwife for normal check-up, my blood pressure is really high compared to what it normally is (still just about in normal range, but its usually low) and there's slight protein in my urine, so I got sent to hospital for monitoring for an hour, and had more bloods taken, in case I have pre eclampsia. My blood pressure was taken every 5 mins while I was in hospital and it went up and down like crazy just while I was there, would have expected it to be fairly consistent? Got to go back to midwife for it to be taken again on Thursday, but was wondering what sort of risks it would actually pose if I did develop pre eclampsia so close to being due (nearly 36 weeks)? Hopefully it's not, as there was only small amount of protein in my urine!

OBEM last night has got me a bit more scared about labour, the water/hypnobirth is what I'm hoping for, was really hoping she would have had a better time of it all!!

bluebeach · 16/02/2011 07:58

Wow, Congratulations muser that is fantastic news!!!

Can't wait to hear more about it.

And hope jeffily is well and everything is going smoothly.

Hope you can keep your legs crossed niamph for the next few weeks and that the baby does some turning. Fingers crossed!

rockchick I've no idea about pre eclampsia but hoping your protein levels are low tomorrow.

I've got my 38 week appointment today so hoping to hear all good news so that I can go ahead with the MLU birth.

I still need to finish my hospital bag, Its just the odd bits like snacks and some more knickers that I'm missing. I might have to leave the snacks to the very last minute as I just keep on eating them.

I agree with whoever commented on OBEM, I was also hoping the water/hypno birth would be really positive, but It looked so painful. I'm not sure that I am preparing myself that well for the pain as I keep reading about pain free births through hypnosis. I am in for a shocker I think!

spaceal · 16/02/2011 08:16

More wows! Congratulations muser - hope you, mr muser and baby muser are all doing well.

emma31177 · 16/02/2011 09:39
