Popped on just to see if there was any news Jeffily. Hope everything is going well at your end. Look forward to hearing more news.

Spaceal I hope you're feeling better. Remember Vanilla Ice Cream :) was a nice treat before bed last night and I managed all night without any heartburn but LO did have a bit of a kicking match after I'd frozen her with it :)

Hieveryone,
best of luck Jeffily it looks like you will be our first Smile

Also hope things settle down with you Jupiter and you get to go home soon.

myself and dp are not doing anything for valentines as we are skint and can't afford to spend money on cards and the like right now.

my mothercare delivery was supposed to come today and it's nowhere to be seen, it has really annoyed me you pay your money and expect a delivery so stay in all day and nothing not even a phone call to let me know.

superpenguin · 14/02/2011 18:27

oh gosh it's all happening!

thinking of jupiter and mixed - hope you both get to go home soon!

and Jeffily - glad you made it back! Just realised you are due the same day as me so that's slightly got me thinking! Sounds like your baby will be here soon though, very exciting!

Hello to everyone else!

I'm also getting what I think are Braxton Hicks now and then, is quite uncomfortable.

Forgot to say we did the NCT course too (was an intensive weekend one) the other weekend and it was really good. Also made some friends there who I think we will stay in touch with. One of the ladies from the course had her baby already, 3 weeks early!

I'm in a good mood now as finally on my last week at work - last day Friday then start my mat leave. the end is in sight!

Also DH gave me a home-made valentines card this morning with a photo from our wedding on it which was really nice - and flowers were waiting for me when I got home from work tonight too! :)

StrangewaysHereICome · 14/02/2011 19:25

I wrote a long post earlier after reading Jeffily's news and it seems to have disappeared Hmm - oh well! So pleased that you got back home okay Jeffily and I hope everything goes well, I am soooooo excited to hear your news. With both of my dd's my waters went first and labour started properly after 12 hours - best of luck!

Jupiter thinking of you too, hope you get home soon.

mixed I am pleased you have your childcare sorted so you can try and relax a bit more - please don't feel too guilty although I do know how you feel. I hope your iron levels get the boost they need.

spaceal I hope you feel better soon, heartburn is truly horrendous and so painful I hope it eases.

As for me I had an awful night of many twinges, just painful enough to stop me sleeping. At 2am dd1 wet the bed so I changed the top bunk bed without waking DH as a challenge to get baby moving - it didn't work and I just gave myself backache. I eventually dropped off at 4am and feel completely shattered Confused. I refuse to get carried away with all these twinges anymore Angry grrrr! I am still having good bowel clearouts Blush but no sign of baby yet Hmm!

Can't wait for news of the first bubs Grin

EvianBaby · 14/02/2011 20:48

Jeffily Thanks for the update, I have been thinking about you all day. Good luck at the hospital tonight and we will look forward to hearing some news! Take care... how very exciting! Grin

All - wow it looks like things are moving along for us all now - it's so exciting isn't it?!?

I had my final scan today to check on baby's size and position to that I could make a decision re: VBaC v. planned section. Anyway, although the baby IS measuring big (a contributing factor to my previous section) it is now head down, rather than transverse as it has been. Therefore we have decided to try for a VBaC. There are lots of caveats regarding how quickly they will intervene, how much monitoring I will have etc but at the moment this is the plan. The baby is apparently 6lb 11oz already (I am 36 + 4) so it is on course to be another 8-9lber - eek!

Love Monday night TV, corrie then OBEM. Wonder what tonight's episode will bring...

I am really enjoying reading everyones updates, especially as there seem to be a lot of twinges and developments, I am so excited for our first birth Smile

Take care everyone

bluebeach · 14/02/2011 20:51

superpenguin, I am due the 4th too, so hearing about jeffily is bringing it home to me! Still not totally got my hospital bag sorted...argh!

Hope all is well Jeffily, very exciting!!

I got made a lovely valentines day card in the shape if a baby with a nappy on. The nappy was a flap that you opened up to reveal some poo and some wee and a girls/boys bits (we having a surprise) and the words 'Nappy Valentines day'. Very sweet as he was beavering away for ages yesterday making it.

Just a quick question to any experienced birthers. How likely am I going to be able to read while in labour. I'm a toilet reader and find it hard to go it I'm not reading something....so was wandering if I should get a good book to see me through?

Well good luck everyone and lets all get a nice sleep tonight x

me23 · 14/02/2011 20:54

I spoke too soon earlier the delivery arrived at 6.30ish albeit late but it came Blush

Tonight's OBEM features natal hypnotherapy (which I and at least one other person on here are using) so looking forward to that but have to wait till 10pm as dp watching football Hmm

jeffily · 14/02/2011 21:45

Just a quick update as am watching OBEM as I type! Been into labour ward- waters have definitely gone, they are still hoping for natural start to labour before, but if not am in tomorrow for induction at 10am. Thanks all for your words of support. Will keep you updated!
Right, back to OBEM then an early night- sleep is going to be needed!

1Catherine1 · 14/02/2011 21:46

ooooo... good luck Jeffily, will be thinking of you!

StrangewaysHereICome · 14/02/2011 21:53

Ooooh oooh ooooh first baby on the way then - best of luck Jeffily will be thinking of you. You never know watching OBEM might get the hormones going.

A big un-mumsnetty hug to you xx

EvianBaby · 14/02/2011 22:18

Wow, good luck jeffily, sending you strong labour vibes!! I know I've said this a few times recently but it really is exciting! Keep us updated as and when you can!! Grin

Medee · 14/02/2011 22:23

ooh, Jeffily, very exciting!

Me - glad your order came eventually, you had me worried. I paid our balance last night, and double and triple checked the delivery date with them!

GeekLove · 14/02/2011 22:32

Its all go on this thread now that it seems that people are starting to pop!

jeffily hang in there and thanks for the updates.

I am impressed by how many of you are still at work even now. I thought 34 wks was some way on!

As for me I am starting to get indigestion with the odd bought of nausea. I have to sleep in a nest of pillows now. Today I felt lighter so I think the baby must be getting engaged!
Mind you my hormones seem to be a bit screwy - I felt like growling and snapping at everyone today. Not helped by DS having a meltdown in the library and having to watch Thomas ands Misty Island Rescue on a loop.'still its nursery tomorrow .

Muser · 14/02/2011 22:47

Oh exciting! Hope all goes well jeffily.

Jupiter118 · 14/02/2011 23:13

jeffily how exciting - hope all goes well!!!!

I have escaped the hospital this pm. Have terrible braxton hicks (at least hope that's what they are as don't want to go back tonight or anything!) and still some cramping, but steroids on board, scan shows baby to be good weight for 35 weeks and is now head down (please stay that way).

Thanks for all your wishes etc x

1Catherine1 · 14/02/2011 23:42

That's excellent news Jupiter. Here's wishing you a good nights sleep! I bet you need it!

Hopefully baby will get comfy again and hold off on making an appearance for another few weeks yet :)

OP posts:
EvianBaby · 15/02/2011 07:14

?Jupiter that is excellent news, echoeing exactly what 1catherine said, I hope you managed to relax and sleep in your own bed and you have a few weeks to relax.

geek your last comment did make me chuckle, I too look forward to nursery days! Ds is (or seems to be) going through a particularly demanding phase at the moment and looking after him is so tiring! The 2 days he goes to nursery are the only days I can relax.

Morning all, how is everyone feeling?

Thinking of you jeffily xxx

JeelyPiece · 15/02/2011 07:20

It's getting exciting now! Thinking of you Jeffily, come back with the birth announcement asap Smile

Nothing happening here, I just feel huge though not as huge as the pile of laundry I have to do before baby turns up - clothes, blankets, grobags, muslins, towels and we have no tumble dryer aargh. At least my hospital bag is more or less packed now.

1Catherine1 · 15/02/2011 09:52

Good morning all. Good to see some organisation happening Jeely - my bag was packed but is now not packed Blush, I've raided it off all food and took the toiletry bag out the other week when I treated myself to a nice long bath at the hotel (I only have a shower at home). So I really must fix that.

Anyone else finding their senses working overdrive again like in the first trimester? My OH came to bed last night at 4am after eating food containing garlic and it woke me up and after a minute of me moaning he got out of bed and went to get rid of the smell. I then got out of bed to find the air freshener before I could get back to sleep Confused I'm sure he couldn't have eaten that much.

Good news (I think) is I think baby is starting to engage already. Good news because for the first morning in weeks I was able to lie on my back without feeling breathless while I woke up. Was a pleasant change. My bump doesn't look much different but it feels slightly lower. :)

Looking forward to more baby news. Good luck Jeffily, to think, the next time you check this thread you could have your LO already!! Grin

OP posts:
KPidgeon · 15/02/2011 09:55

Gosh- all go here. I guess if it's all quiet from Jeffily it could mean arrival time! Wishing you all the best.

Glad you're home Jupiter and hope you get some well-earned rest.

Thanks for the Rennies tip whoever gave it to me- they have been amazing- zapped my heartburn so am sleeping better. I think I will try the vanilla icecream tonight as a treat- had a docs 34 wks appointment yesterday and glucose totally fine again so no worries about sugar now- phew!

Doc surprised me by predicting a 6 or 7lb baby. My DH is really tall & I'm not petite so I'd be very surprised (pleasantly so) if I have a smaller baby..not convinced though!

Enjoyed OBEM yesterday. Felt for the girl who's partner was in prison. They all seemed like quick labours yesterday but I think that's giving us false info- must be down to the editing!

Superpenguin I'm in my last week of work too- roll on Friday for the two of us!

mixedmamameansbusiness · 15/02/2011 10:26

I am due 3 days after Jeffily so am going to get on top of the hospital bag situation.

Thinking of you Jeffily and looking forward to our first announcement.

Hello to all.

Larty74 · 15/02/2011 11:08

Jeffily - wishing you all the best today! Can't wait to hear some news. Smile

me23 · 15/02/2011 11:42

Best of luck jeffily we are all anticipating the birth announcement, I hope the labour and birth goes well.

jupiter glad you managed to escape hospital!

I have got so much washing to do it's a never ending pile.
