Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I've had early scans with both my dd's at 8 & 9 weeks & both were external. They did say though that if they cannot pick anything up they will do an internal scan. I've had no bleeding or pain this time, so no early scan for me. Hopefully not long to go ... not knowing is driving me bonkers!

Best of luck to you tomorrow Annie

oops wrong thread Blush

tel1 · 17/01/2011 17:18

hi, been sent here due to my 'tearing hair out, going completely mad with worry, paranoia'... I'll be 11 wks tomorrow, still awaiting date of 1st scan to hopefully confirm all is ok.... had a mmc this time last year, and taken all his time to fall again. I'm 42 now (have dd 5 & ds 4)but this is my last chance to have that elusive 3rd.... so praying all will be ok...
not feeling so sick, hungry or tired now, but then I've read thats ok...
bleed last time round so knew something wasn't right, but no bleeding so far this time.... I hate this wait, and having to hide away from people, as all that's your my mind you can't talk about !

daisysair · 17/01/2011 17:26

tel1 not feeling as sick or tired is lovely isn't it? but a lil disconcerting too (am 11+5 today, but been feeling a lil brighter for a few days) Fingers crossed your scan is soon (mine's thursday :o )

tel1 · 17/01/2011 17:38

hi Daisyair - I straight away went on the 'lost of preg symptoms' threads and reassured and scared myself a bit depending on what I read... still don't fancy loads of foods, but haven't had that 'I have to eat that now' feeling for a few days... the feeling less tired and sick is good - and I've read is normal ! good luck with your scan... I'm miffed I haven't had a date yet, but I didn't get my booking in appointment with the midwife until last week coz of the snow/xmas/new year hold ups.... I'm due for the scan next week, but the old pembury hosp is closing for 3 days and moving to the new hosp next week (just my luck !)
in someways I wish I felt terrible so at least I felt something... though I know with my other 2 successful pregs I had an easy time...
I'm basically just paranoid and praying
xx

coastgirl · 17/01/2011 17:56

How can I need to wee when I went five minutes ago? Argh!

MrsStevo · 17/01/2011 18:00

Had my booking appt this afternoon - left armed with reading materials that should keep me occupied until I give birth!!

I asked the Q - 'is it normal not to have any symptoms' - and was told YES for some people, they don't have any and I should count myself lucky (so I am).

annie - I had a transvaginal scan last week (at 7 weeks) and it was fine. Doesn't hurt a bit but a teensy bit uncomfortable - nothing to worry about at all. They did do a normal ultrasound first which picked up both babies and both heartbeats but she was keen to do the t-v to get a good look at them (and I didn't care by that point, I was still reeling from being told there were 2 in there!)

teladi - Happy Birthday! Hope you're having a good one.

tel1 - welcome and good luck! Try not to fret TOO much - as I said above, it is apparently FINE not to have any symptoms. If you're new around here, you won't know that I had a scan last week (because of having no symptoms & cramping)and was not only told that everything was absolutely fine, but that I was having twins! I had a mc last year too so every day is filled with worry and impatience that time seems to standing still and it is still so long until my next scan. Also, is that Pembury in Kent? That's the hospital I was born in many moons ago!

nickstermum · 17/01/2011 18:17

Anyone else got indigestion?

nickstermum · 17/01/2011 18:18

get indigestion... not got!! doh

spilttheteaagain · 17/01/2011 18:24

Evening all, my goodness this thread moves fast!

Happy birthday teladi and LadyG well done on telling work - I hate that bit so got it out the way on the first day back after Christmas.

I have got a private scan booked now for next Tues when I should be 10+2. I just can't wait anymore, and I am hopeful that if all is ok we should be able to see quite a lot.

Cadmum that sounds like a hard week! I agree, if the nuchal won't tell you anything that you need to act of then it's probably not worth the massive trip for. We don't get nuchals in our area and I have declined the Down's blood tests as I wouldn't go through with an amnio so there didn't seem much point in a non diagnostic test that would just have the potential to worry us a lot.

coastgirl I know that feeling! I had to get up three times in one hour at one point last night for a wee. Gah. Tired.

Booking in on Thurs.

Bryher · 17/01/2011 18:35

Happy birthday Teladi!

Good luck with the scan Annie! Think whether it needs to be transvaginal depends on individual. I had a scan at 6 weeks, 6 days and they couldn't see much with the abdominal so decided to do the transvaginal - but apparently my uterus is a slightly funny shape or something. I'm also overweight which can make transvaginal more likely. On the plus side it was fine and didn't hurt - which for someone who has endometriosis and finds smear tests, internal exams and even sex painful (sorry TMI) is pretty good going!

Have just been catching up with the thread and am craving jelly babies now :)

tel1 welcome and good luck, waiting is really hard! Think lack of symptoms at 11 weeks is normal, apparently things like morning sickness may lift about 9/10 weeks - I'm hoping mine will....

nickstermum Yes, keep getting indigestion on and off, Rennies are a godsend and OK for pregnant women. Also bizarrely keep getting diarrhoea, rather than the constipation we are all warned about.

MrsStevo - lol, yes it does seem to go really slowly. I feel like I've been 8 weeks for ages, now finally into week 9. Had booking in appointment today which just seemed a lot of paperwork, she didn't even ask how I was feeling, tho wrote down I was feeling OK!

Apparently I can't go to Bishop Auckland midwifery led centre which was my first choice, because my BMI is 39 and therefore am too high risk. A bit disappointed, apparently consultant led care is my only option. Hate to think what they'd say if I asked for home birth! Anyone out there got experience of high BMI pregnancy?

Take care, everyone

coastgirl · 17/01/2011 18:45

I don't have many symptoms like sickness or indigestion but my boobs are huge and I have a definite bump which is making dressing for work a real pain - my clothes fit but they're all fitted so it's quite obvious. It's not that weird at 10+3, is it? Every pregnancy books says "there won't be any external signs yet!" etc.

LittleBeaut · 17/01/2011 19:12

daisysair whats your due date?? You must be due about the same time I me (I know were all due in August so around the same time doh??) But I will be 12w on Wednesday and have my scan on Friday... thats 4 more sleeps!!! eeek

I get heart burn if I eat too late.

As for symptoms... I havent had much really. Sore boobs, gagging a bit at everyday smells (the dog mainly, and he aint even a bad smelling dog because I'm terrible for spraying and bathing him, but I couldnt get close) and thats about it, werent every actually sick... well I was once but I went to an all you can eat buffet and just kept eating tee hee. Oh I have had a bit of constipation, but I found something to help with that!!

How weird it is that I am making everyone gag with the mention of fish, yet I cant get enough of it?? Tonight I'm having salmon mmm... I dont usually eat salmon... or fish in general... well the odd fish finger butty and fishcake Grin

nickstermum · 17/01/2011 19:21

LOL i have been working from home today and working in the kitchen but have been hunting for a bin/oldcatfood smell all day! Did this the other day as well.... hunted for ages, coudlnt find anything! plugholes been bleached, catfood bowls washed, bin scrubbed, no dead mouse anywhere, cant find it - yet when i ask DH if he can smell anything..nothing! Must either be me or something has died in the kitchen!!

Very nearly threw up at the tesco check out earlier.... and all this whilst 'working from home'Grin

Catfood sending me into boakdom!

coast docs all say that bump starts to come out of your pelvis at 12 weeks but tbh my last pg i was huge at 12 weeks, bumpwise. I just dress and look like a tramp most of the time so its not so obvious Grin

beaut thinking of you for scan.
I hope mine is ok on monday [scared emoticon]

bellamysbride · 17/01/2011 19:29

Hi all. Can I bite the bullet and join the crew? I have been lurking for a while. I found out I was pregnant on christmas eve and am due on the 26th. I had a scan today after 4 days of spotting and all looked good. I am 32 and have 1 DS who is 18months and I am pooping myself about having a newborn and a toddler. Feeling sick as a dog and a perpetual need to stuff my face with refined carbs and ice lollies. Bizarrely I have completely gone off ANY drinks.

MrsVidic · 17/01/2011 19:36

I finally got my scan date for the 28th so I'm feeling a mixture between nervous and excited!

I had a tough night last night- dp and i went for a run as we had a rare baby free night then ordered a curry. This was followed by me getting upset fretting about my wieght. I have only put on 3/4 of a pound since I became pregnant but i just cant seem to rationalise sometimes! I ended up begging him to keep all the bread in his car so I wont be tempted to snack on toast! How embarrousing! My dp is wonderful and knows all my history regarding eating so was as supportive as ever! However, after sleeping in this morning I was moritified i couldn't go to the gym- so i'll only work out 4 times this week- how mad do i sound? I'm fine when I'm not pregnant honest! Grin

Had a nice day at work but my hormones are interfearing- part of my job involves helping homeless people look after their visiting children and I just wanted to take one of them home to make sure he was looked after. Still I've got to appreciate that long term I'm helping him by gettig his dad into parenting classes and showing him how to engage with his son.

I've been loving porridge today- total comfort food!

LittleBeaut · 17/01/2011 19:38

Hi bellamysbride I now need a slush puppy because you mentioned ice lollies!!

When I had my boys (who are now 7 & 8) the eldest was still a toddler I wont lie... its hard work!! But they are pretty close and I fear that this new baby of mine is going to feel a bit left of in a few years of their closeness you know?? x

spilttheteaagain · 17/01/2011 19:43

Welcome bella

nix you have made my day saying you dress and look like a tramp! I have scary images of well groomed, smartly dressed MNers (God knows why, LeQueen & Bonsoir and the like I guess) and I am a right scruff. Still wearing university boat club hoodies with holes in the cuffs Grin. To work. So I can hide my bump for a while, but it is definitely arriving.

And my boobs have lept into action too now. We are Blush taking photos of me once a week so I can see minute bump increases which make me happy. But has also led to me realising that in the last week my aerolas (sp?) have got massive and darker and my boobs are growing. All goods signs, no? I am terrified of us dying in a freak accident and parents/PILs finding these photos... Confused hmmm, maybe password protect is in order!

LittleBeaut · 17/01/2011 19:57

Hi bella the thought of the pictures getting into the wrong hands would scare me too... personally I think your dead brave to do them at all. I'm having trouble even looking in a mirror at the minute never mind a photo Shock

LittleBeaut · 17/01/2011 19:59

Durrrr!! That meant to be Hi bella and the pictures bit was meant for splittheteaagain Confused

nickstermum · 17/01/2011 19:59

ooh porridge...[cannot be hungry again emoticon]

Sadly spilt i look like i have been dragged through a hedge backwards most of the time, FT working mother y'see! Slummy mummy may very well describe me!! I have very pale nips now but they are hoooge. montgomerys are back, and spaghetti junction is there too!FAB news re the symptoms though :) wonder if theres two?!?!?! Grin

I did momentarily change my name to perkynorksnicks then changed it back quickly Grin

sorry not been about on charters, its got very busy (which is fab!) and i keep lurky-urking!
