New home for us ladies!!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
daisysair · 17/01/2011 20:31

LittleBeaut Yep both due on August 3rd atm!! I think my date might get put back a few days, but will find out for sure in 3 sleeps... (my kind o counting-not the only thing in common!)

btw, has anyone else LOST weight? I jumped on the scales last week as was feeling v bloated, but lost 4 lbs-mind you I'd been eating kiddy portions of food as feeling sooo sick (nausea wearing off so won't last don't worry!!!)

LittleBeaut · 17/01/2011 20:41

Yay! daisyair I think they may move mine forward... or is that wishful thinking?? But I was never sure on my dates and my tummy is huge which didnt happen with my boys, but I was riddled with sickness with them so yeah I did loose weight that time. Although before Christmas I lost 2.5lb one week and over Christmas stuck. And they say everytime is different so we shall see. Oooh let me know what your scan says... I'm proper looking forward to yours too.

Just seen advert on tele for the Asda baby thing-a-me-bob and was wondering if anyone knows how long it lasts for?? I wont get anything until after my scan but thinking I could call for a little something on the way home from the scan to make it all very real... and get me all excited haha

bettyboo83 · 17/01/2011 21:21

Hello everyone!

I'm just watching One Born Every Minute and freaking myself out...!

Happy birthday Teladi Smile

MonaPomona · 17/01/2011 21:35

hi all - it's funny to read about all the cravings; I had none with ds but this time I really fancy certain foods - mainly raspberry yoghurt so far.

I've not been in contact yet with anyone from officialdom - it's starting to worry me a bit - I sent the self referral form off on 9th Jan and have heard nothing, when i call the midwives the phone rings and rings and no one answers it. I went to the local pharmacy tonight, the pharmacist looked at me like I was mad when I asked if she could refer me and told me to go to my GP so I have to take time off work after all. Seems like all the whizzy modern methods of getting into the system have not yet reached outer london.

there is no way I'm brave enough to watch OBEM bettyboo

and no I have definitely put weight on as all my work clothes are tight!

LifeOfKate · 17/01/2011 21:49

Happy Birthday Teladi and good luck for your scan, Annie, hope all is well :)

Bryher · 17/01/2011 23:30

bettyboo I watched One Born Every Minute again, didn't freak me out quite as much as the screaming woman on it last week did!!

Leilandri · 18/01/2011 00:21

Ok I am officially a pig!

Working nightshifts now with new job, and had a BIG plate of pasta and sauce at 8pm with DH, and have just eaten a 6 slice domino's pizza only 4 hours later Blush I guess the nausea has gone!!

Booking in on Thurs when I will be 11 weeks, so hopefully scan will be soon. I'm freaking out about eating so much over what might be nothing. Will be able to relax and eat scoff much happier once I know all is ok in there.

LadyGoneGaga · 18/01/2011 08:34

MrsV are you ok? Sorry if this is out of line (and tell me to shut up if it is) but I think you need to try and chill out about your weight to be honest. You are pregnant, supporting a baby. You are SUPPOSED to be gaining weight. It isn't horrible excess fat, it's just extra blood, fluid and yes some fat that is supposed to be there to support healthy growth of your baby. Sorry if this is out of order but I'm a bit worried about you, you're getting yourself so wound up - I know your DP being very supportive which is great but is it worth speaking to someone like a counsellor or your midwife just to help reassure you? You've been here before, you're staying fit and healthy and you know you can lose the weight afterwards. I know it's hard when you've had issues with eating in the past, I did when I was younger as well but I just don't want you getting yourself really wound up over this.

If it helps put into context I have gained about 8 pounds already. That plus the 8 pounds I gained when I was pregnant in September and miscarried and didn't lose afterwards. So yes, for me I feel quite big and it isn't all baby but really, I have to make myself not care. Last time I gained around 4 stone [blush) but it all went again, I was back in a sie 10 and I still ran a marathon the following year (in a bloody good time too). Sorry if this is unsolicited advise and I am sticking my beak in.

tel1 · 18/01/2011 08:35

hi guys, sat there lamenting my lack of symptoms last night whilst eating a tub of olives - until I remembered that I hated olives.... so thats a good sign isn't it... I'm going to ring the hospital today (yes pembury tun wells - they've just built a new one and in the middle of moving) as I need to know my scan date, I'm 11wks today
I've got the constipation, but managed to go today but filled the bowl with blood, so thats nice - definately from the rear which strangely is a good thing..? you do feel very alone in these first 12 weeks don't you.... all these things happening to you but no-one to ask...

KTisPG · 18/01/2011 08:38

Bellamy I'm soooo glad you've said about drinks - I was really struggling with going of drinks until I discovered orange Fanta. Now I'm drinking about a litre of the stuff a day (not sure this is entirely good for me but hey)

I am also off chocolate and craving carbs/salty foods. Trying to be good, but I'm convinced I look about 6 months rather than 8 weeks Blush

Firawla · 18/01/2011 08:43

welcome bellamysbride, i wouldnt worry toooo much about baby and toddler its actually really nice to have two together and be able to watch them interact etc is lovely, so just focus on the positive side, it can be difficult at times but you just get used to it

as for the weight gain ive put on 6kilos!! i was thinking to myself oh thats half a stone, then it dawned on me, oh no actually that is one whole stone! so twice as worse than i thought and actually a huge amount. i just hope nausea goes soon and feel like craving some healthy foods for once. but trying not to focus on it too much as i will just stress myself out, can always lose it again afterwards.but am really feeling like having a break after this pregnancy now to give myself more a chance to focus on myself rather than lose weight and straight away pregnant again and putting it all back on again!!

SelinaDoula · 18/01/2011 09:12

Hi Guys,
Can I join you?
In denial here I think!
I'm unexpectedly expecting my second child. My first DD is 8 in August. I'm due Aug 1st (I think) not had any antenatal care or scans yet but got an appointment on friday.
I'm in Liverpool and work part time in public health and part time as a Doula, been to nearly 30 births now (was at a home waterbirth last week).
Ihave been nauseous and tired but starting to feel better, at that stage when you think you might be imagining it all, but I have an Angel sounds doppler and have heard the babies heartbeat since 1o weeks so reassured all is well.
Nice to meet you all.
Selina x

SelinaDoula · 18/01/2011 09:13

PS for the list, I'm 34.
S

SelinaDoula · 18/01/2011 09:21

Bryher
I have supported women with high BMI.
I think if you are fit and healthy, you are unlikely to have the issues associated with excess weight (high blood pressure, gestational diabetes etc) There is no reason why you should not have a birth in the MLU or a home birth.
Happy to chat privately if it helps.

Annie456 · 18/01/2011 09:22

All is fine! Pheeeeeeeeew! Had a scan this morn and it was worth every penny just to see that everything was as it should be and its little heart was beating away!

I had convinced myself that all was lost so going to coo over my scan pic and re-bond with the bean!
Thanks for all your support and advice ladies, was much appreciated! X

LittleBeaut · 18/01/2011 11:09

Yay Annie that is lovely news... you go bond away chick.

So I have been offered sh*t loads of baby stuff today but... not sure what to do. I know that some stuff its not worth buying because there not in it long enough but... Oh I dont know

ohanotherone · 18/01/2011 11:28

Hello Guys,

New and exciting thread and we have a doula on here too!!!!

I had my scan yesterday so now my due date is 3/8/11. [Smile]

Bryher - I am also high risk as had pregnancy induced hypertension in my last pregnancy. The local midwives said that I can have the baby at home if my blood pressure stays normal this time. Is there the option of a MLU right next to a Consultant led unit?

LittleBeaut · 18/01/2011 11:46

Yay ohanotherone your dates are same as mine and daisyair

Oooh I have to laugh at myself today... I'm proper grumpy!! I have back ache, well actually its fine as long as I dont put my right foot on the floor Sad and I'm managing to work through it which normally wouldnt be so bad but I have an auditor in today so I'm up and down the stairs to him all flipping day. I'll live I suppose.

But for that reason I've not been able to think about food today... not eaten a thing!! And I'm just having my first coffee of the day - its going to be a long day!!

daisysair · 18/01/2011 12:44

LittleBeaut first coffee of the day? I had my first coffee since 6wks pregnant yesterday and then only an espresso cup full (not of espresso!) I was in heaven :o

Hope you have a quieter afternoon than your morning's been. Hats off to anyone working through the nausea stage!!!!

tel1 · 18/01/2011 12:47

scan date 2nd of feb - I'm going to go crazy way before then with worry

daisysair · 18/01/2011 13:28

btw coffee hadn't appealed until then, in fact made me feel ill... not that i was anti coffee. (when editing would be useful!)

CappuccinoCarrie · 18/01/2011 13:42

Welcome to the newbies!

Glad the scan was good annie

littlebeaut we took everything free that we possibly could, the baby stage really doesn't last long so I wouldn't spend money if you don't have to! If you don't want the free things I'll have 'em!

Lol at looking like a tramp, I have been wearing the same large black hoodie for days as its the only thing baggy enough around my middle.

re: photos, we took them every 4 weeks in my other pgs, always with me wearing the same clothes and standing in the same place, I think DH had ideas of making a flicker book or something?! At 9 weeks I'm now as big as I was at 16 with my first, yikes.

Off to catch up on OBEM Grin

SMummyS · 18/01/2011 13:42

I've got 24 sleeps till my next scan and 25 sleeps till I go on hol with the inlaws :( we shall be telling them and DBD on holiday I think :)

LittleBeaut · 18/01/2011 13:51

I have 3 more sleep to my scan - yay!! Still a little bit nervous about the bloods and that, that I now have to have cos I'm an OAP pregnant lady Sad but have decided to try be nervous about those when I'm due the results so kind of feeling a bit better about it.

So for lunch today I have fritatta (is that how you spell it??) and it was so lush I could eat another huge piece all over again with the salad the works!! Am now just having a fat free yog... I'm being so good today. Lets see what creation I have tonight when I'm home eh??

I did go off coffee a little bit at first... but around christmas I got into starbucks ginger bread latte's and just kept drinking coffee after those daisyair
