New home for us ladies!!

We've told our parents already but we'll leave it another week to start telling everyone else. I actually have a private nuchal next wednesday - at the clinic run by the doctor who invented the nuchal test. They do a blood test 30 mins before your scan and by the time they do the scan the blood work is back and you get a combined risk score. With my nhs one today, they did the blood test as well but I have to wait a week for them to send me the results.

Gaga has had hers already, but she is an inteloper from the July thread!!Wink

LadyGoneGaga · 14/01/2011 14:10

Fab news, Hersetta - will be interesting to see if the results differ but NHS and private. We had no choice but to go private as they don't offer them in our area on NHS. You can relax a bit now and start to enjoy it!

Anyway - you are now also an interloper, no? Wink

Hersetta · 14/01/2011 14:21

Shhh Gaga.....they might not realise Grin

Yes it will be interesting to see the difference. Very reasured by a nice low nuchal fold reading today though and a clear nasal bone. My nuchal fold reading was less than half the measurement I had with DD 3 years ago.

KLou111 · 14/01/2011 14:26

Glad your scan went swimmingly Hersetta, yet another imposter then ay???? Wink

KLou111 · 14/01/2011 14:31

Where about's in Warks are you Lady, that's where we are from, Leamington area, family there still and Rugby, only moved to Wales August 2009.

Got to go back Sunday to sort some business, only been back here for a week after going back for NYE!! Don't mind the journey too much though. Usually go back every 4-6 weeks, but at least if we go back now, that's it til end of Feb.

CappuccinoCarrie · 14/01/2011 14:38

Shiney new thread! Maybe this is the thread where I'll finally get my booking in appointment?!!

So so :( if, big hugs, look after yourself.

loubee guilt and worry grow with the placenta I'm afraid, and it only gets worse Grin

RunDMC · 14/01/2011 14:39

erm another interloper here Smile. Also had my 12 week scan this morning and pleased to report it went well too. Phew and double phew.

Like others, my dates have been brought forward and I'm now 12+5 with an EDD of 24/7 so really chancing my arm with being on the August board. Can I stay though please ?!! All measurements good, strong heartbeat and lots of wriggling, pushing at the probe (!) and generally waving of arms and legs.

They don't do a combined nuchal scan at my hospital yet but luckily the sonographer was training and the consultant came in midway though and asked if we minded her having a go...er no, not at all ! So based on the measurements and nasal bone they think the risk is low - obv doesn't include the blood test element but I'd been humming and hawing about having it done anyway so am reassured enough not to want to pay for a private scan.

Glad all went well for you too Hersetta Grin.

Although it all still feels a bit unreal when I left the clinic with notes, armfuls of leaflets and dates for my next 3 appointments including the 20 week scan it all felt a bit more real !

pinkclouds · 14/01/2011 14:40

IF so sorry for your sad news.

Hersetta Glad all is ok, it so reassuring to see them floating about in there.

I had my dating scan today. Was so nice to see the little one bobbing about in there.Smile Very pleased to see that there was only one, couldn't cope with 5dc (well not yet Grin).

I opted not to have the bloods that go along with the Nuchal Fold, But everything looked great. All measuring perfect and nasal bone in place so not concerned.

They have changed my due date to the 1st August so going by this I am expecting that Baby will make an entrance on the 6th as the other 3 have all been 40+5.

rosalux · 14/01/2011 14:55

Hello Everyone. I've only just found this thread. This is my first pregnancy (at 32) and I'm currently 8+6 and my EDD is I think 20 Aug 2011. I had a scan this time last week because I was stressing out on an hourly basis and my partner couldn't take anymore (he has since apologised for being snappy) and we saw a tiny tiny tiny babything and heard a heartbeat, but of course I continued to stress the following day and eversince albeit a bit less. I have some sort of NHS pregnancy group meeting on 20th Jan and my booking in appt on 28th Jan and an OSCAR scan (private) on 4th Feb, although I am concerned that this will be too early. We are off to Cuba on 18th Feb for 2 weeks though, so I wanted more than 6 days between results and holiday in case decisions need to be made (fingers crossed not).

Hersetta · 14/01/2011 15:20

Glad the scans went well pinkclouds and RunDMC.

Everyone on here seems to be a queue jumper !! That or we can't wait to meet our babies!

Hello. Smile
Another lurky lurker here.
I wasn't going to join until Tue but I can't change things and it's stopping me Google crayzee Q's.

IF honey, I'm so sorry, I know how you feel. Sad
If you need to talk to somebody please PM me, I hope you're getting lots of RL suport and squeezes.

I have been dipping in and out and feel like I'm getting to know you all
Grin

I'm due on the 28th Aug and this will be my 7th pregnancy.
I have a history of Molar pregnancy and also elevated NK cells.
I am now on steroids to, FX, keep this bean going until the placenta takes over.
I have had a scan at 6+4 and all good so far, heartbeat spotted and it's in the right place so the first two hurdles over at least.
I'll be scanned every two weeks and the next one is Tue.

Hoping to get stuck in and help each other through a uneventful 7 and a half months.
Waves to Nickster
She's ma fwend.

PrettyVacant1 · 14/01/2011 16:20

CappucinoCarrie I'm still waiting for my booking in appointment as well. It's infuriating because the MW only does appointments on Thursdays and she's booked up next week. I'll be at least 10+4 when I see her and she needs to book me in for my scan.
Luckily the hospital seems good for fitting in scans at short notice.
Has anyone chosen a hospital that isn't the closest? For my last pregnancies I chose a specialist obs/gynae hospital that's a bit further away. Best decision I ever made, they are fantastic. I'm hoping they'll let me choose there again.

Lovely new thread, great to hear about the good scans Hersetta, Run, pinkclouds and anyone else I've missed.

I am now 8+5 and tentatively starting to think I might make it to 9 weeks on Sunday. Can't think any further ahead. The whole being pregnant is completely divorced in my head from actually getting a baby - too far away to seem remotely real or possible yet!

Anyone else find they have INSTANT hunger? I am ok one minute and then all of a sudden desperate to eat and no, in 5 minutes is NOT good enough!!! I remember this game... Smile

Also, Sad, my sodding pelvis is already going wrong. Last time it started to hurt at about 15 weeks, but this time it started yesterday at 8+4. Is that a record?! I am stiff and sore and driving hurts again. Have propped myself up high with a big cushion in the car which definitely helps and if it gets no better over the next few days I shall be talking to my MW at booking in on Thurs about a physio referral.

mrschemist I've also chosen a hospital further away - closest is Lewisham but been accepted at St Thomas's. Could be a nightmare if baby comes at rush hour but it's nice knowing I've chosen the place I feel comfortable with.

So everyone seems to be private scanning to check the heartbeat...I'm very tempted, although symptoms are still strong (back pain, boobs, crampy uterus stretching, completely gone off choc and chicken and SO TIRED I didn't make it to work today) Am I right in thinking that I wouldn't have all these if I was MCing? Or do the symptoms carry on regardless? Hmm

I wish I'd go off chocolate.
Finished my Chrimbo choc and working my way through DP's Blush
I can't stop putting things in my mouth!

I am going to a hospital further away too, it's a specialist obs/gynae hospital that promised to fix me. Hmm

Spilt I know how you feel, I'm ignoring the fact as much as possible.
I feel quite calm this time, hoping that it's because it's all perfectly normal and the most natural thing in the world to happen to me, so no big deal.
That's what I keep telling myself anyways.
Sorry your pelvis is giving you jip already.

Glad to hear scans have gone well for everyone. I started my new job today and love it. They seem impressed with me and have took my suggestions on which is quite a big thing. Hope they still like me in 15 weeks when i tell them i'm pregnant. :-) i went to the gym this morning and i'm sure it makes me hungrier, i'm cooking tea at the moment so i can pig out. My sickness seems to have gone and i now have the internal furnace, for a usually cold person i'm nice and warm.

Glad all your scans went great.

Lady we'll be back Sunday for a week, will be stopping over in Cov (unfortunately!!). In-Laws are Stretton-on-Dunsmore, not sure if you know that village?? My family is Rugby. Going to hopefully our last trip back til end of Feb as need to get on with our own house and garden over the next few months ready for little one!

Think going to tell our 2 sets of really close friends when back. Weren't going to til 1st Feb (12 weeks) but as we're going back earlier this time, going to tell them. Will be 10+4 next Saturday, and seeing a little heartbeat on our early scan, we were deemed a 'viable' pregnancy I think was the wording! So I think all should be OK. Will still be stressing til dating scan though.

Welcome newbies and congrats :)

Well, might be TMI, but I can't stop farting tonight, doing my head in as it hurts in my belly occasionally and really having to squeeze them out!! Blush
