Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
impatient1 · 16/01/2011 13:39

Today I am mostly eating marshmallow hedgehogs from Aldi, vanilla and chocolate flavour.
O. M .G!!
LOL

impatient1 · 16/01/2011 13:42

I had the most gorgeous facial this morning, a birthday pressie from my mum. (since the usual favourite, Alcohol, is off limits.)
I honestly feel like i have no bones left in my body. I recommend it to all pregnant women :D

RunDMC · 16/01/2011 15:20

two words...

Angel Delight

mmmmmmmmm

Annie456 · 16/01/2011 15:30

I've gone off so much food I'm running out of things to eat. There are only so many fish finger sandwiches and peanut butter on toast a girl can eat. I absolutely cannot stomach chicken anymore...I dread dinner time as there's nothing I want. DH is making chick pea curry tonight and I've warned him I might not eat it!!

Also been so weepy the past few days. Feel pathetic because I'm so exhausted when I'm usually so active. Bring on 12 weeks to get some energy back (that is right isn't it?) Sad

pinkclouds · 16/01/2011 15:51

LittleBeaut I have been living on Squeezey Cheese and Ritz crackers!! What's that all about Shock. I remember being in America years ago and you could get cheese in an aerosol can, vile at the time, but somehow appealing at the momentGrin.

What could my body possible think I could get out of aerosol cheese it can't possible contain much apart from air.Blush

impatient1 · 16/01/2011 16:35

I am loving the primula squeezy cheese on doritos. Mmmm!

LifeOfKate · 16/01/2011 17:08

Woah, this has moved on a bit!

Loving all the food stories :o Particularly liked the story of the pickled onions on the train, I bet the other passengers loved you!

I've not gone off as much as last time which is a relief, but my mouth constantly tastes like something has crawled in and died and possibly crapped in there while it was at it :( I am living on tropical flavour chewing gum, as it's the only way I can keep the nasty taste at bay without spending the entire day eating. Also having to eat really strongly flavoured foods, pickled onions, curry, etc all very appealing! My one other 'issue' is that DS's dirty nappies really turn my stomach, but the little sod darling has suddenly gone from a 1 every other day child to a 4 times a day child Hmm :(

Hope everyone is well, I have my scan booked for 4th Feb now :)

LadyGoneGaga · 16/01/2011 18:14

13 weeks here Annie and still feeling pretty shattered. But...on the positive side don't feel very sick anymore now. And can stomach a greater variety of foods (read staving all the time!!!)

I think last time I did regain my energy, can't remember exactly when but must be soon

Annie456 · 16/01/2011 18:55

TMI alert...your advice please ladies. Am 7+4 and just found a nice bit of bright pink on the tissue after going to the loo. DH is trying to calm me down by saying "false periods" are common around 8wks. I'm planning on monitoring it over night and seeing how much more I get (if any) but just wondered how worried I should be about it? I've had back ache for the last 2 weeks and mild cramping throughout so nothing new pain-wise but I'm not too happy about the bleeding...thoughts? X

MrsStevo · 16/01/2011 19:16

annie - very easy to say, but don't panic! Bleeding can be 'normal' for some people throughout their pregnancy - it doesn't necessarily mean something is wrong. I'm no expert but understand that it is possible to bleed around the time your period would have been due - which must be coming up if you're nearly 8 weeks.

I would definitely recommend calling your GP / midwife tomorrow to explain and to ask to be referred to your local early pregnancy assessment unit (you might be able to self-refer, depends on the area). The criteria are if you have had bleeding or other symptoms such as cramping - so you're definitely eligible for referral, they can't refuse. I've been twice (with both pregnancies) and they're brilliant. It is well worth it to set your mind at rest.

Most importantly - TRY not to fret too much and take it easy tonight. Thinking of you x

LittleBeaut · 16/01/2011 19:20

Ok here's TMI too Annie but was it after a 'number 2'? Because for the first time in my life I have been getting that and the first time (about 2 weeks ago) it scared the beeejesus out of me??

Call you early pregnancy unit because here in Leeds we can self refer, but I know you cant at them all. But there is usually someone there to give you advice and they may book you in for first thing. Try keep calm and your feet up chicky, and keep us posted xx

davidtennantsmistress · 16/01/2011 19:52

littleb - I sometimes ahve that to the dr said something about it being a little tear, scared the hell out of me at first as well, althou wasn't pg at the time.

annie - have you had anymore? fingers crossed not, but i'd speak to someone anyways tomorrow.

I tell ya I have 3 days off with DP being home and then it's all go! lol.

ref the food - i'm currently devouring anything and everything (this week has seen 3 portions of fast food - not good, not good at all) however yesterday I had my first crisp cold coxes apple in a while and now I can't get enough of them so that's better.

congratualtions to all the newbies/those who have had their scans. Am currently 7+4 and don't even have a booking in with the midwife until tuesday week :( still pondering going for a private scan ahead of the NHS one with DP just to check all is ok, althou he's away for another week so can't do a thing until next week earliest.

davidtennantsmistress · 16/01/2011 19:55

also annie, we're on the same dates - I also have been weepy since friday, apart from today when I was dragon of the west, tired doesn't cover it and the hunger/sickness is now well... I want blooming already! lol.

you're not alone chick, it's all normal (I hope) - lets just hope we're not having 2 or more. lol.

nickstermum · 16/01/2011 20:26

Annie sorry you are having the worry :( i had brown for about a week around 6/7 weeks. Agree with Beaut & stevo as far as contacting EPU. You can self refer here also, takes one or two phone calls. They will get you a scan and reassure you. They tell you to watch out for pain, quite severe cramping and of course blood loss.

It could also be Implantation bleeding though, keep your feet up and also keep monitoring it. Try not to panic (definitely not very easy!!) and give them a call tomorrow xxx

Have a hankering for pilau rice tonight.. having had my mums roast dinner, followed by a huge piece of pie and custard....Mmmmmm off to make some butties now!! Could murder a fresh oj but we have run out bugger

Had a bit of discoloured again today and it threw me a bit but then i realised my pregnacare tablets had given me neon wee!!! Phew.

LittleBeaut · 16/01/2011 20:33

Neon wee nicks e...ugh!! Wink

I'm not feeling food again today - well since my spag bol this morning... but I have an unbelievable thirst which I've not had before. However I dont think drinking the amount of coke I've had today is good for either the baby, me or my teeth so must get something else in that is yummy and nice and yummy maybe oj like you say nicks

Has anyone heard that Ribena give you a better scan picture?? I was told this on Friday as I'm not very good at drinking pain water. Think that make a neon baby?? Confused

LifeOfKate · 16/01/2011 21:12

Annie - A good idea to keep an eye on it. When I had my bleed a couple of weeks ago (at 8 weeks), I called my GP who said to monitor it for 24 hours. It lasted a few hours, turned from pink to brown fairly quick, although he still referred me for a scan. I had my scan at 8+4 and there was apparently a small amount of blood in the womb near the opening of the cervix, the sonographer said it's fairly common for a small amount of blood to collect when the embryo buries into the wall of the womb, which then gets randomly released when something happens (in my case, a 'number 2 Blush, but also sex or as the baby gets a bit bigger and starts moving). I have also had backache and cramping, but as long as they are mild and have been going on throughout, i think it's most likely that they are due to the womb stretching and all the ligaments loosening. Hope the bleeding stops and all is well.

LittleBeaut - could it be because the Ribena probably gives them a bit of a sugar rush and makes them a bit more bouncy than normal? :o

countssheep · 16/01/2011 21:58

Hi ladies,
Been lurking for couple of weeks now, irrational hormonal brain decided it would be tempting fate to come out of shadows.
First timer and totally clueless despite being one of more "mature" mums to be.
Today had first scan (private as couldn't wait any longer) and there really is something in there!! Photo is pretty rubbish but to see heartbeat was truly amazing.
Lovin the food comments and strangely familiar; beetroot (7 vacuum packs in fridge plus 2 emergency backup jars), primula on cheesey bite crakers (never bought prior to last month!) and jelly babies.
DD is 22 Aug, age 41, Fife

Thanks for all advice so far, invaluable since we've not told nearest and dearest just yet Smile

nickstermum · 16/01/2011 22:11

Never heard that about bena! I had a snickers bar before my last 12 week scan that was good news and little fella was bouncing all round the place! now..if only i could stomach the texture and flavour of choc!

Spat a glass of water out earlier..cannot drink unless its flavoured! Had some dandeliion and burdoch this morn for brekkie, not quite as bad as coke but not far off Grin

JenniL1977 · 16/01/2011 22:29

Is that why my wee's that colour?! Right... Totally could not figure that one out! Thanks nickstermum :)

LittleBeaut · 16/01/2011 22:36

pmsl at JenniL

Ok so after saying I cant stomach food since this morning I really want a prawn cocktail butty with salad cream NOW but am a little unsure if I should be giving in Hmm

I'm going to try Ribena anyhow probably like you say Kate could be that baby just gets a sugar rush and it all cute and wavey Grin

nickstermum · 17/01/2011 08:29

Bvit complex can give you neon wee and i only noticed yesterday after i took two pcare tabs together having forgotten the day before, so yes i think it must be!! Either that or i need to see the docs Blush

SMummyS · 17/01/2011 09:24

Argh F-ing hospital, I went to EPU for a scan and my dates would have been 7w4 but I've just rearranged my 12w scan because I'm on hol and apparently my last scan I was measuring 6w3!

Now the reason I'm pissed off is after the scan I had a consultation and they told me I was measuring right for 7w

Im certain of my dates as me and DP only did the deed once that month!

I've read early scans can be misleading, so I'm hoping there's not something wrong now :(

Roll on 11th Feb :)

LadyGoneGaga · 17/01/2011 09:43

SMummy - I think early scans can be a little bit inaccurate. I had one at 8.4 and EDD given as 29th July. Another scan at 12 weeksish and EDD given as 24th July so 5 days different!

Fingers crossed for you Annie but bleeding can be down to lots of things as the other girls have said. Agree you should go to the EPU though - set your mind at rest.

Welcome to Countsheep.

Pregnancy has been announced at work and not a day too soon as one girl blatantly asked me if she should be congratulating me. Was soo tempted to prtend to run into toilets sobbing I was just fat but didn't! And then loads of people said they weren't surprised. I look FAT!

SMummyS · 17/01/2011 09:52

Thanks, that's what I'm hoping, just checked my notes and at 5w6 I was measuring 4w, then theyve just told me at 7w4 measuring 6w3, next scan il be 13w or as they say 12w so fingers crossed it's back to normal Grin

Annie456 · 17/01/2011 10:10

Morning ladies,
Thanks for your thoughts and advice...I called my EPU this morning and they were neither interested or helpful. They didn't aak about symptoms, just reeled off their opening hours, said how long the wait was and what time they stop scanning!

Ive not had any more and I'm not in pain so I might just sit it out for a couple of days and see what happens - it's not going to change the outcome. Either way I will go to EPU on Saturday or get a private scan some time this week. I already took Friday off sick as I was feeling so exhausted so don't want to miss any more time straight away. I've managed to keep myself calm and adopt a que sera sera attitude but DH and I have agreed that we can't wait for 12 weeks and will definitely scan this week. Will post again if when have more news... Confused
