Oh rock I feel for you - I shouted at my two (this was before my comfort bath) because they kept running away while I was trying to get them dressed for nursery. In retrospect they were having a whale of a time and I was just a monster having a go. I gave them big cuddles and said sorry before they left, but it still leaves you feeling pants...

And I haven't even told you off for saying the i word!! see what the powers of a nice bath can do! :o

RockLover · 25/01/2011 09:41

Yeah, maybe I should have a bath later, I feel really wound up lol.

NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 25/01/2011 09:50

add lavendar to it if you have any

Fuzzywood · 25/01/2011 09:59

Morning, no baby but I do have a stinking cold now, lovely. Off to mw in a bit for my sweep, it better flippin work!
Rock I was a mean mummy yesterday as well so you're not alone a relaxing bath sounds like a good plan.

CupcakesHay · 25/01/2011 10:02

Morning all - happy B'day buzz and I will help lynch your borther if he doesn't bring donuts.

Anyone seen pootle? And of course amI - hope she hurrys up to pop in and show off Grin

bubba you have amazing memory about RobynLou! I didn't even know i was pregnant til June. Gog - that feels like so long ago. I rember doing a test one day, but i think i crapped it up. And then at 3am - waking up and doing another test - and it was positive - and I waited until DH was up for work at 7am and BOMBARDED him with news - and expected him to have taken it all in Blush - whereas I had 4 hours to think about it!

Love the sound of your DD rock - I think if any child i has is like that they can wear whatever as long as it doens't need i..ning!

As for weeing rock - i was up every 1.15 hours - but i was drinking more in night. Had a fab coughing fit about 4am when the water went the wrong way - and parents came in panciking Blush

Yes drum roll for your cervix bubba! And the spa sounds nice.

Off to get pedi at 12... yay!

Oooh - and running - is she MIA?

And thanks for adding yourself in ryuk - lovely to see you back - and let's hope you spend your due date popping out little RYUK.

RunningKatie · 25/01/2011 10:57

Roll call check in, fear not Cupcakes - I've been sitting on my birthing ball and flattening clothes. [bshock]

Happy birthday LadyBuzz.

Envious of these pedicures and spa evenings, I'm thinking of getting DP to paint my toe nails this evening.

I didn't think OBEM was too bad last night, felt so sorry for the girl who was struggling. DP was telling me how worried he was about not knowing when to take me to hospital, so at least we've got that sorted a bit now and he's fretting less.

Fuzzywood · 25/01/2011 11:05

Just back from mw, apparently my cervix is very favourable and I'm at least 3cm dilated. She said to book an appointment with her for Thurs but doesn't think I'll need it and hasn't booked an induction date as she doesn't think I need that either. She better be right! Only bad thing was that she thinks it may be back to back, that's me on my hands and knees for the rest of the day then!
Is Pootle mia today as well?

CupcakesHay · 25/01/2011 11:10

Oooh congrats on the lovely cervix fuzzy Grin and let's all keep our fingers crossed that you m/w is right. And let's hope baby moves to the front.

And sorry if i've put a curse on you running by even hoping you might be popping today.... And def getting your DP to paint toes today. remind him you are carrying his child.

I'm planning to get DH to put socks on and bend and do stuff for me at every opportunity!

NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 25/01/2011 11:11

Yay for you fuzzy and only 99% Envy [bgrin] [bwink]

not so good about the back to back though

no word from pootle yet - Possible Queue Jumper Alert

going out for lunch with my mum now - all I've done is put a wash on which still hasn't finished so can't even hang it up before I go

had a panic in the middle of the night last night that this baby may never make it out and I'll be pregnant forever and ever. Realising it may actually come out after all, but very concerned that this may end up being through a c-section and the girls at home with me and baby [bconfused].

RunningKatie · 25/01/2011 11:21

Congrats Scuba, forgot to say that.

And is Shanster mia too? Real queue jumper there.

Congrats on a very favourable cervix Fuzzy Grin - here's hoping you don't need to see the MW on Thursday.

travispickles · 25/01/2011 11:23

Hi all! Well what a night/ morning. Had my sweep at 5pm, which was okish. Then the usual crap night's sleep but had got to sleep at about 2, woke up at 3am with pj trousers wet. Didn't know whatto think, as the bottoms were soaked but the bed dry. Wondered if had wet myself Blush but didn't smell of wee so rang delivery suite. Woke OH as well, but was told to put in pad and call back in a couple of hours. At 7am still small amount of fluid and a pinky tinge so rang back and was told to go in so they could check. OH wound me up by saying he was tired (!!!!) so went to hospital on my own. Anyway, to cut a long story shory my waters intact but she thinks it a show after sweep. Did another sweep (OMG it was sooo mch more painful than yesterday), she said am 2cm dilated and partially effaced so got to go for long stomp to get contractions. Will imagine stomping on OH - that should get me going!!
Sorry if a bit TMI but needed to share the drama
:)

Crystylline · 25/01/2011 11:27

Hurrah fuzzy fingers crossed, but def not legs!

i too am envious of all the lovely pampering treatments going on. have to comfort myself with all the lovely bath products my family gave me to pamper with at christmas instead.

bubba i'm sure all will be fine and your stubborn baby will make their grand entrance soon. it must be very nice to be all cocooned up in a warm place. not sure i'd want to come out either!

went for my walk and despite the somewhat grey day here, the views over the hills were still beautiful. had a long chat with bump whilst walking around about his imminent tardiness. I think he knows his mother is always late for everything, so is continuing the tradition!

the doula i met said that doing creative tasks can also help bumps to become babies, as that side of the brain also suports/encourages endorphins and happy harmones that make bumps feel like coming out to play.

perhaps time to doing some writing/baking/making... idk. i'll try anything right now!

RunningKatie · 25/01/2011 11:28

Oooooh Travis that sounds very exciting, although I'd be tempted to stomp on OH if I were you.

Thinking lots of positive thoughts for contractions. [bgrin]

Crystylline · 25/01/2011 11:29

x post.

ooh travis! that is excitment as well! grab your wellies and go girl! Grin

saltnvinigarcrips · 25/01/2011 11:30

Ooh don't say that bubba I've stil got my fingers crossed for you that you will have a vbac. I'm worried that I will have to have a c-section too but only because I can't see how i'm going to squeeze this massive bump out my 'fandangle' Blush

Nothing happening here either although incredibly uncomfortable from last night. I have a mw appointment at 2:30 and think I will get them to check and see how favourable my cervix is as curious now fuzzy. I never knew you could be dilated before you were in actual labour. Hopefully they'll tell me i'm at 9 cm or something lol. Grin

I've only just got up as slept so rubbish last night and also constantly weeing rock. At this point I wouldn't worry too much about gd. Is there anything they do anyway? My sister had it and irresponsibly continued to go through the coke like anything and her and baby were fine. Not that i'm suggesting you do that, just see what the mw says. Okay, enough rambling.
Ooh cupcakes your dh is back today isn't he?

gallicgirl · 25/01/2011 11:35

Excellent Grin Sounds like some babies are finally on the move.

I eventually got through to CMW office this morning to see if they knew anything the hospital bringing forward my sweep today (not really and my named MW doesn't work today). The other CMW called me back and I'm to go to clinic this afternoon so hopefully that will kickstart things. have to admit I'm a bit concerned about these multiple sweeps Confused.

Given that the hospital didn't tell me what will happen at induction, where to go for it or when to turn up, I'm guessing they won't miss me when I don't turn up!

Very Envy of spas and pedis too. i might book in to get my hair cut later in week and hopefully baby will turn up to mess up my plans.

RockLover · 25/01/2011 11:40

Oooh fuzzy and travis, so excited (if a little Envy) for you both, hope babies make their way into the world without causing you any trouble. :)

I've just walked into town and back (without collapsing in a heap which is a miracle) to get DP's birthday card and "accidentally" did some shopping for DD as well. M & Co and Seasalt had sales on so she's got some clothes for school and some new wellies. Yay, I love shopping, but I also forgot to buy more Spatone so have had to call DP to get some for me .

No more twinges for me, just that rather mild period pain last night, I think this baby is settled in for the duration. Kids really do start as they mean to go on don't they? In that they NEVER do as they're told!!

Pootle78 · 25/01/2011 12:25

Morning Ladies! Still nothing, wouldn't want to be accused of queue jumping, although from tomorrow, all bets are off!!!! [bgrin] [bgrin] [bgrin]

Yesterday I finally managed to roll out of bed at 7pm Shock those of you that already have children I don't know how you do it but you deserve a huge mummy medal!

I've now decided (and told people) that I will not be up before 11am so don't bother phoning or texting, cause I won't reply!

Congratulations to scuba and also how exciting fuzzy and travis

Happy Birthday Lady

Crystyl we are due on the same day, and judging by your comments, we are both as bad as each other for being late and looks like this tradition will continue down the genes (much to my dh disgust, well on my side anyway!)

Rock I'm glad Bubba has reprimanded you for using the "I" word, I just make sure I buy clothes that don't need making flat, and will continue this for little 'un. Luckily my dh irons his own shirts so if we do have a little girl with big frilly dresses he'll soon get the idea of making those flat! Although running you've been making clothes flat too, naughty naughty!!!

salt and gallic good luck at your mw appointments today. Hope you also get a good pass mark for your cervix [bconfused] [bwink]

Cupcakes hope you are enjoying your pedicure

Here's hoping for exciting news from ami and I'm sure Shanster said she was booked in for tomorrow unless baby shanster has moved!

No appointment here til next week when I will be 41 weeks so fingers crossed I won't need it! The person annoying me most about whether baby is on the way is dh at the moment! As he works in London he is concerned he will miss it (urm, no chance!) but the constant, any twinges, any ideas, any clue is starting to annoy me (in a good way, as I know he is excited!)

Off to sort out my plumber/builder issue from the other week, they came to seal the bath and it leeks more than it ever has! Hopefully they won't make me cry again!

Check in later ...

LadyBuzz · 25/01/2011 13:16

ooh travis exciting news for you & fuzzy

MW came out this morning and thinks i might have an infection Sad so is calling me back later to advise on ABs and stronger pain killers.

I'm glad to hear all these cervixes are doing so well Grin

pootle hope your plumbers get things sorted.

Crystylline · 25/01/2011 13:22

poor you ladyb perhaps this is contributing to problems with BF? if you're poorly, i bet it's bloody hard to do much.

pootle plumbers are rubbish, aren't they?! i had a similar problem yonks ago and they just made it worse. grumble, grumble.

i'm liking the idea that we're no longe queue jumping if it's our due date Grin perhaps bump will get a move on!

SaraL77 · 25/01/2011 13:35

well gallicgirl the 'no signs' was my experience but not sure if others have had warnings. My DH asked last night if I thought I'd be going into labour overnight- I said well I didn't know last time, so who knows! (he,being a slightly 'anal' forward planner, is not liking not knowing exactly when baby will arrive!)

has anyone felt more emotional now they're getting closer to their due dates? I had a mega cry this morning when I couldn't adjust DS1's car seat straps, I was sobbing whilst trying to do it whilst he ran round the car in circles oblivious to my hormontal rantings. I then treated myself to coffee in town and still felt emotional, esp when looking at a gorgeous baby boy being cuddled nearby.. it probably didn't help that i was reading birth stories from my lastest mother & baby mag!

Ladybuzz have been there with struggling with bf-managed 10 days with DS1 so know how you feel- I'm dreading 2nd time round in case it's just as hard/worse. Oh well we can but try!

Pootle78 · 25/01/2011 13:59

Crystyl we've waited paitently in line, so yes, I don't think it's queue jumping when it comes to our day, although I can see me sitting here next week yelling it's not fair as everyone after us has had there's!

Lady that's not the news you want on your birthday :( at least it has now been picked up and fingers crossed they can get the right ab for you and feeding may become easier.

Sara yes to the crying, at random things - thought I was going to cry at the baby clothes in Asda the other day, but managed to hold back, but had a big cry on Saturday night because I was so uncomfortable in bed. Oh, and of course I blub at every birth in OBEM!!!

Spoke to the plumbers, not quite in tears but gave him my rant and will wait and see! Can see this needing to be escalated but probably won't have the time to do it, think this is why baby wants to stay put!!!

Pootle78 · 25/01/2011 14:00

ooops, that should have been their's - can I blame baby brain? [bhmm]

More note-taking required!

Firstly travis how exciting and sorry ? but I?d be Angry at your OH too ? although could so see my DH saying the same thing! But exciting eh. Another well coaxed cervix! And I think, especially lately, we can never have TMI! Smile

Love the chat you had with the doula crysty - I?m eagerly awaiting DH bringing my material with him so I can finally finish the --poxy?beautiful patchwork quilt I started back in? umm August?.. Oh, and pissing it down here too crysty

Dh here tomorrow salt. And how are your horrid evil piles?

And a sweep for you gallic - I?m getting Envy of all this sweeping you lots are having done ? might even be worth going over just to have it done. HA HA!

And hopefully your DD will appreciate new clothes and be happy to wear them to school tomorrow rather than change her mind (bless) and make you perform clothes flattening in the morning, eh rock?

Aaah ? and here?s pootle - damn. No babies there then! Love your no communicating before 11am! Brill! And love that Dh is asking about the twinges. I spoke to MIL yesterday and she said ? any news ? and I thought ?Dh is with you ? do you think, if there was news I wouldn?t have mentioned it?? ? of course, I was just being a grumpy pants!

CRAP about the infection ladybuzz - ugh Sad ? although thank god you can take painkillers and don?t have to suffer on. And how crap on your Bday. Did you get some nice pressies? (apart from Kali?)

And sara I cried at eastenders? god it was only Morgan having his shoelaces tied by whitney for god?s sake. So yeah Blush maybe a bit emotional. Although my mum tells me I?m bossier in the last week.

As for me ? well ? pedi was AMAZING ? she made a fab job on my scabby heels (I?ll probably clog up her hoover they?ll be so much dead skin Grin) and then my eyelashes look lovely. And then I went to the little deli and bought 3 slices of choc fudge cake for pudding. And then went to Post Office and bought 3 crème eggs?. And then DH texted to say he bought baby a disney sleepsuit in the disnet store. And then came home, ate pasta with veggies for lunch? and FINALLY caught up with you lot!

Oh ? and the beautician was telling me (after much prodding) that she has had customers who have asked her to ?finish the job? ? but what made me turn my head, was not just men. Sorry to seem Shock, but you think ladies are so much more refined!

And I?ve had a few twinges today ? and got some period pain type pains in the middle of the night ? so that?s a good sign? right? Maybe baby will come on my due date? Surely one of us (c-sections aside) has to have their babies on the due date?

Right ?going to post otherwise they?ll be a million more messages! Grin

RunningKatie · 25/01/2011 14:57

I appear to have made too much food to fit in the freezer. Confused

Also, been for a walk, and then stood cooking for an hour or so, so am shattered now as well as needing a home for a cottage pie.

Sara, am bursting into tears at the slightest thing now - the opening credits of OBEM last night set me off.

LadyB, boo to the infection, but hopefully some ABs will sort it out and you'll feel much more comfortable again. Can you feel comfortable after a CS?

Bought a box of 6 creme eggs, have managed to eat 2 already. Might have to hide the rest in the fridge before DP notices. Grin
