NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 11/01/2011 19:23

lol pootle

I think we know where they are pootle!! Hmm :o

Sorry rock must have got you confused with either fuzzy or ladyb - can't be arsed to read back, but somebody with a child was watching DVDs today - didn't mean to imply you were being a lazy arse! :o

Yay to bouncing babies crystyll :)

CupcakesHay · 11/01/2011 19:37

Love the new title pootle

What a lovely list.... do you think we'll all have the babies in that order???? ha ha Grin

Just had yummy dinner or beef in beer, and courgettes and red peppers and little roast poatatoes and PEAS! But managed to get gravy down my top. Blush oops!

RockLover · 11/01/2011 19:51

I've just completely flouted the no sugar rule and had a huge piece of the lovely carrot cake DP brought home. YUM!

My poor DP he does everything around the flat and all the cooking so I seriously need to make it up to him when the baby has settled in.

travispickles · 11/01/2011 19:55

Me too Rock - my DP does all the cooking although I have been doing some cleaning. Lovely to have a whole day to clean an oven/ sort the bookshelf/clean the bathroom. Not to try to fit it in around a full time job! And spend the rest of the day sleeping, watching crap (Australian Come Dine today - all 5 episodes back to back) etc.Happy for LO to give me a little longer of lazy-arse-itis.

gallicgirl · 11/01/2011 20:35

I've done quite a bit of cleaning today and I'm tempted to mop the bathroom floors before going to have a bath.

The washing is all done and the nursery/spare room tidied.

DP has washed up already which I'm pleased about cos he usually leaves it for me to do. I did wash up at 12:30 last night which probably prompted a bit of a guilt-trip Grin he's currently watching footy while I munch my way through a box of After 8 mints. Do you think Frosties for supper would be excessive?

CupcakesHay · 11/01/2011 21:13

Ummm - I made some coffee for my mum and dad earlier... and i ate some of my mum's afetr eights. Does that count as helping out around the house Grin

But back home, well - i do washing and washing up, and most of the cooking but i'm crap at cleaning floors - and we have soooooo many floors in syria... and 2 cats which make them soooooo dusty! Not looking forward to getting back to that!

RockLover · 11/01/2011 21:15

I really need to get my arse in gear and tidy and sort our bedroom out (which is also the nursery). The cot is full of Christmas presents and there are piles of unpacked clothes (mine) which are still stacked against the wall from where I moved into the flat in June. Blush

I also need to buy a light with a dimmer switch for night time feeds. I haven't bought a monitor yet either, has everyone else got one?

Fuzzywood · 11/01/2011 21:16

Ooh after 8s yummy I ate all of mine, may have to get some tomorrow.
Funny pain in my shoulder now, sure it's not a sign of anything but is flippin annoying.
Bubba it was me who was having a DVD day, Sex & The City 2, not very good but easy lazy watching.
You never know I may even venture out tomorrow!
Do you think it would be rude of me to text DH(he's downstairs and I'm upstairs) and ask him to bring me some ice cream Grin

NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 11/01/2011 21:26

no - do it fuzzy if there's any time it's okay to do, it's now. I've often phoned the home phone from my mobile secretly when DH and I are in the same room, and when he gets up to get it, I ask him to make me a cuppa while he's up!! :o :o

Have no idea where my monitor is, but our house isn't big enough to warrant one

am bouncing away on a birthing ball now - went to a friend's this evening to steal hers - very comfy

CupcakesHay · 11/01/2011 21:44

Yes - text him fuzzy - i'm always doing tha to DH! Not that he likes it!

Ok - i've eaten too many mints and now i keep burping minty taste which is horrid. Contemplating a packet of plain walkers to take taste away.

I'm not getting monitor til i go back to syria - and only cos house is big there.

Ok - is it bad - i've been on mumsnet or facebook farm, for like ummm... the last 2 hours.....

And I feel bad - my mum is knitting the most ADORABLE Peppa pig for my friend's DD... it's So amazing. I'll stick a photo on when she's finished. but i haven't even made her a cup of coffee.... ! maybe i should get off my arse...

mimou · 11/01/2011 21:46

Following everyone's example I spent the afternoon watching OBEM on demand while indulging in the I-activity that we're not allowed to mention. Never seen it before since "reality" TV is banned in our house under normal circs. (one of the advantages of maternity leave being that I can secretly watch these things and costume dramas without DH getting all sniffy). Why on earth was everyone shown lying flat on their backs all the time? I can see why anyone expecting their first would have found it a bit terrifying. Don't remember labour being anything like that, but maybe I have rose-tinted it in retrospect.

DSis is still being wonderfully philosophical about her MC - mind you she has quite a lot to take her mind off it at the moment in that she lives in Brisbane and is in imminent danger of being flooded out of her house. Can't believe what a shitty time she's having of it at the moment! :(

Fuzzywood · 11/01/2011 22:05

Oh Mimou your poor sister, hope it misses them or isn't too bad.
Well text didn't work but the email did (the joy of the iPhone) just finished a yummy bowl of ice cream, bless my DH.

CupcakesHay · 11/01/2011 22:10

God - your poor sis Mimou - and naughty you for doing the i---ing! - Dont' forget to update the list at the top with your due date and if it's boy/girl/1st dc etc.

And brill for you *fuzzy( what ice cream was it? I'd kill for Ben & Jerry's cookie dough tonight.

Oh - and the crisps took away the bad taste! I wish MN had a little piggy emoticon - i'd need it tonight!

Pootle78 · 11/01/2011 22:33

mmmm Ben and Jerry's cookie dough, at least it is easier to get hold of than krispy kremes!

DH has just announced he nearly bought a KK back from London today but he forgot! Shock

mimou your poor sister, it can't be good for her at the moment, we have family about an hour away from Brisbane and the main roads are currently cut off and waiting to hear if DH cousin has been evacuated.

OP posts:
gallicgirl · 11/01/2011 23:02

Hope your sister is ok mimou. The pictures of Brisbane look dreadful.

cupcakes Do you have a cleaner in Syria? Might be an idea to look into getting one to help out and you can feel good about helping the local economy.

I haven't got monitor yet but I'm thinking we should do it asap. I just had a bath and usually I have my phone to hand to call DP if I need anything. Unfortunately I got stuck and he couldn't hear me shouting cos of music, tv and 2 closed doors. I then got frightened and burst into tears when he did come to check on me Blush

gallicgirl · 11/01/2011 23:04

Oh and I think we will get this monitor

I got a bit overwhelmed by choice.

saltnvinigarcrips · 11/01/2011 23:31

You got stuck in the bath gallic? How frightening!! I often worry about slipping getting in or out but never considered getting stuck.

I've had a lovely lazy day today. Slept till about 12 after waking at 7 and having a cup of tea as hardly got any shut eye last night. Then I've spent the whole day listening to MTV and potterning around, sorting out drawers and other silly bits (my shoes etc). Still at the risk of sounding OCD my head feels much clearer knowing I've binnned loads of crap. God I love binning stuff Grin.
Thanks for your feedback shanster. I read quite a lot about shooting pains on the web and apparently it's not abnormal and a sign of softening things up. My friend said she had exactly the same thing so I'm feeling less stressed about it all.

Hope your sister is okay mimou, looks pretty scary.

TheBreastmilksOnMe · 11/01/2011 23:37

Can I join?

gallic- I too get stuck in the bath- tis no laughing matter so I have given up having one now. My bath is quite narrow with no handles so when I lie back, I cannot get up again! I have had to shout for Dp to help me up on more than one occasion!

Boo :( No baby here :( Bit of a show this morning, but that's quite normal after a sweep so not getting too excited. I have to keep reminding myself that this baby isn't due for 10 days and could be two weeks late - which is essentially a month away!! Must remind my mum and sister who phone at least twice daily to see if I've had my baby yet...

Welcome TBMOM - how old is your son?

Poor you gallic that must have been scary. My grandmother once got stuck in the bath when she was very old and fragile and I had to lift her out - it was really sad.
Our bath has handles and I use the girls' slip mat to avoid being dunked under with my slippery bum!

Pootle that is a crime! (I think it'd have been better not to know!) I hope you punished him severely!! :o

saltnvinigarcrips · 12/01/2011 09:00

Oh, sorry you're disappointed bubba but don't you still have another 24 hours potentially? I still think it might happen for you as all things looking good and the show means it could happen in next 3 days doesn't it?

Up early for a change, might pop out and get a changing bag and nursing bras which I didn't manage to get the other day. Then I will probably go back to bed. . .
Welcome breastmilk :)

NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 12/01/2011 09:11

I'm a bad daughter - just totally snapped at my mum. She phones at 9am every blinking day to find out if there's any progress, and to tell me where she and my dad are going to be during the day in case I need to call her. Angry I don't even know why as during the day I won't need her if I were to go into labour, and she'll phone again later on in the afternoon again, so this time I snapped and answered the phone with "no baby, still no baby, may be no baby for another month!" and she was like "don't be angry with me, I'm just trying to help!" WTF - oh she stresses me out!

Thanks for kind words salt - drove DH to school this morning as he got a puncture yesterday - you'll be pleased to know it's all running smoothly there :)

RockLover · 12/01/2011 09:17

Morning ladies!, No more cramps for me, only lasted about an hour in the end, but hoping it means my uterus is limbering up so that I get an easy birth .

Had a crappy nights sleep, had trouble dropping off and then got up at least 5 times for a wee so I'm bloody knackered! Just back from the school run and I'm scoffing toast with lemon curd...mmmmm. Thinking about doing some housework, but not sure the thinking will actually turn into doing, but it's the thought that counts eh? Grin

Still awaiting these flipping nightshirts, they better come today so that I can finish packing my hospital bag. I phoned my dsis last night to arrange for all the stuff she is giving me to get dropped at my parents house, then when I go into labour they will bring it all down with them. This includes a pushchair, carseat, moses basket, steriliser and bottles.

I feel a little more organised having arranged that. :)
