Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Hello all - we'll I've been at the hospital this morning because I'm sure my waters started leaking overnight. Nothing major, but definitely enough to cause wetness. They checked me out and are 'not convinced' so sent me home. I'm getting crampy feelings so not sure what's going on. Have ordered DH to work from home and am just trying to relax Hmm.

bubba you made me laugh about your mum as I discretely told mine we were popping up to the hospital to see what was going on and the next thing I get a text from SIL saying how excited they are to hear the baby is coming, I was like errr mum what are you doing telling everyone, that's not even true!!!!

Ho hum, maybe I won't be getting those extra weeks of relaxing, we'll see.... will keep you all posted.

LadyBuzz · 12/01/2011 13:34

I am also beyond useless with the housework - i've stopped apologising I actually don't care any more Grin

mad my first mat cover did that to me, making mistakes and telling clients it was my fault - I was furious with her, It is not nice when you have made sure you have done your bit Angry

I wish I could warrant a sewing box - I am completely crap at anything like that - I even ask SIL to sew buttons on Blush

LadyBuzz · 12/01/2011 13:35

zippy how exciting for you.

gallic I also worry i'm not needed, my job has in effect just been put on hold for a year Grin

NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 12/01/2011 13:36

Ooh, how exciting zippy - will keep fingers crossed for you. Without being gross, if your waters are still leaking, keep the pad you use and take that in next time - apparently MWs can massively smell the difference!

I didn't tell my mum about the show/gunk this morning for that very reason - she'd be on the phone to everyone including me every two minutes!! :o sighhhhhh

cyberfairy · 12/01/2011 13:52

I have had the Job Fear as well-scared my replacement will be better than me though, not worse! It must be super stressful being a teacher, my DP is and having a lot of panic trying to sort out paternity cover for two weeks let alone 6/9 months. He would love to take more time off and I would love to share my maternity with him as being a humble TA, my job is far less stressful and more enjoyable but my wages are obviously far less...
Have bought an obscene amount of reduced christmas chocolate in the co-op-all 25p and two skirts that I will never ever fit into but a girl can dream Smile
Good luck ZippyPippy x

ZippyPippy · 12/01/2011 13:59

Good idea bubba - even if it means the last shred of my dignity will be gone when I give my pad to a midwife to sniff Grin

AmIGoingMad · 12/01/2011 14:00

Oo zippy that's exciting! Keep us posted!
I've just ordered even more pjs and some loose trackie bottoms so that I can finally pack my bag by the weekend- I keep wearing the things I'm planning on putting in it as they're the only things I feel comfy in! oops!

AmIGoingMad · 12/01/2011 14:01

I'm off to stuff my face have lunch now!

RockLover · 12/01/2011 14:04

On a mad whim I just decided to walk into town and go to Superdrug for some last minute bits. Going back up the bloody High Street nearly killed me (it's so steep), I have no idea how I did it.

Now I'm back home and feel shite, I think that was the worst idea I've ever had. Glad I got the stuff I needed, but I have to leave in 40 minutes for the school run and I feel shocking.

Urgh!

ZippyPippy · 12/01/2011 16:02

Am getting really crampy now, got my tens machine on which feels weird. Not quite sure what to do with myself, think it's going to be a long evening.....

RockLover · 12/01/2011 16:07

Ooh Zippy, fingers crossed this is it for you. Keep yourself moving if you can, hopefully that will help progress things.

I am in absolute AGONY since i walked to town and back. I think I have a touch of spd, my pubic bone is burning and I can hardly walk, even sitting down hurts. I'm really not happy. :(

ZippyPippy · 12/01/2011 16:10

Poor you rock I walked around the shops for a couple of hours last week and it nearly killed me, I think best to stay put at much as possible now!! Hope you can have a restful evening.

Crystylline · 12/01/2011 16:12

ohh Zippy - exciting.

have you had a nice warm bath?

RockLover · 12/01/2011 16:17

I don't think I have any choice but to veg out Zippy, although a nice warm bath might be in order tonight though....will have to get DP to help me in though I think.

On a more positive note my nightshirts have arrive at last, hurrah I can finish packing my bag tonight.

Howe are the cramps feeling now Zippy? Are they regular?

RockLover · 12/01/2011 16:18

Far too many thoughs!

Crystylline · 12/01/2011 16:26

aw rock sounds like you need a bath and a nice cuppa tea too.

spd is horrible, I'm so grateful i've had only the tiniest twinges of it.

CupcakesHay · 12/01/2011 16:26

Wow - you've all been busy. Hope it's all going ok zippy and not too painful.

Amigoing - pleased they were able to find out about the strepB now - i had that test too - and i think it's worth doing. Although sorry about the mat covers!

Shopping was fun - didn't do much - bit of M&S, boots, lunch at Burger King Blush nice and healthy! Wool shop and asda... ded exciting. Although i'm shattered from all that walking and driving!

rock - maybe speak to your M/wife if you're worried about GD.

katie Grrr your sister! I agree nothing more annoying than someone saying they are skint, but you know they've pissed it away 2 nights in a row!

Very impressed with all the houseworking - i spose when i finally get back to syria - i'll have to get off my arse and do something Hmm.

No way am i telling my MIL about baby until the contractions have ACTUALLY started. Even then she'll be posting to my facebook and telling everyone before i've even started having the baby!

Quite excited today about the though of having a little baby soon (pain aside!) Dh is here 2 weeks today - so baby can come anytime after that!

God i am sooo tired after my "excursion" today - it's still my stiff hip. And i have a "full" day tomorrow - health visitor AND antenatal class. God the excitement!

bubba ho'ws your "show" anything happenening?

gallicgirl · 12/01/2011 16:40

Gosh - what energetic afternoons! I've been asleep on the sofa for well over two hours. Blush I guess I didn't sleep as well as I thought last night.

Baths and rests all round for the rest of you I think :)

RockLover · 12/01/2011 16:43

I think I'm probably making too much of the being thirsty thing, I have not needed a drink for a good 3 hours now.

Think it's the pain in my pubic bone that's giving me the most grief, it really is very painful after that walk into town.

Fuzzywood · 12/01/2011 16:43

Ooh Zippy sounds exciting, a nice relaxing bath sounds like a good plan.
Rock poor you, hope you start feeling better soon.
I've managed to make myself feel sick by eating far too many Jaffa cakes Blush.
Did make it out today to Asda and John Lewis, is it just mecor do loads of people stare at you when you're out, it's like they've never seen a pregnant woman before (I did check there wasn't anything stuck to my back or anything else weird going on so must gave been the huge bump!).
Bubba any movement?

NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 12/01/2011 16:46

Hey Zippy good luck with these - hope they turn into something good. Don't forget to time them and move around like Rock says.

Poor you rock SPD is a fucker. I've had it with all three and there's no comfortable position - hurts to walk, stand, sit or lie :(

Nothing happening here at all. Just woken up from having watched The Gilmore Girls in bed. High brow stuff :o :o

Also filled my sewing box, so very pleased with myself!! That'll count as tidying for me.

Girls home soon so should get myself up and ready before they come and bounce on me in bed :)

Keep us posted zippy and don't be afraid to go back to the hospital when you feel it's time - most books recommend when contractions last longer than 45-60 secs, and when they're less then 3-5mins apart...

NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 12/01/2011 16:49

Fuzzy I was stared at massively today in John Lewis and about - it's very odd. I believe that other women have, in fact, been pregnant before but maybe I'm wrong!?! :o :o

CupcakesHay · 12/01/2011 16:50

I haven't braved baths since devon - just been doing showers - can't quite face the Blush horridness if I get stuck... so I think i'll wait til DH is here and have one then.

fuzzy agree completely about the stares! And bless - an old lady gave me a seat in the wool shop cos I was "ooohing" as the baby was moving and squirming into a uncomfy position. Felt a little bad, but was lovely to sit down for the 10 mins my mum was in the shop! She got lovely dark grey to make a grey and white striped jumper.

rock i personally think you're probably fine on the GD thing, but if you are worried, may as well mention it.

Just had last of Yule log, which was yummy - but feel a little sick now..... so not just you fuzzy! they def need a pig emoticon!

SaraL77 · 12/01/2011 16:59

Hi there,

I'd like to join this thread as I'm 38+3 and due on 30th Jan :-) Am a mixture of fed up/excited/impatient/scared and have been alternating between being very active/nesting and just sitting around waiting for baby to come!

anyway, hi and look fwd to sharing the next few weeks/last few weeks of pregnancy here!

RockLover · 12/01/2011 17:00

Hi Sara and welcome. Hope that you're feeling well in these last weeks, is this your first?
