ohh prams and balls, this is all the third trimester stuff I have to look forward to! My back already feels wrecked, would a ball help? I have discovered an osteopath nearby, I am tempted to see if they can help.

muse i have forgotten which pram you went for in the end, dinky would be very much a bonus in the leaf household.

I have shopped, put henna on my hair and made some coleslaw and I am already exhausted. I still have potato salad, prawn and crayfish tail cocktail, smoked salmon squares to make and all the rest of the nibbly bits to lay out, plus wash all this shit off my head. Is this normal? If I am not careful I won't make it to midnight! I think I might have bought to much food, I thought there might be 7 of us but now there will be only 5. oops, party food all weekend then, never mind, I do love a buffet.

Muser · 31/12/2010 15:39

Bugaboo Bee rocket. It is currently folded and sat neatly in our very narrow hallway. I was a bit concerned we'd have no space to store it, but it folds very nicely.

I would go to the osteopath if I were you. A ball might help as well, they force you to sit in a better position. Could you do some pregnancy yoga or pilates maybe? My pilates has proved very beneficial.

rocketleaf · 31/12/2010 15:48

Yep I am going to start yoga next week, hoping to do 2 sessions a week now i am not working in manc. one is during the day and the other was too early for me to make it back in time for so couldn't do it before. very much hoping this will help. plus i will swim one or two of the other days which should also help.

hey ho, spose i'd better crack on with more food prep.

PollyPoo · 31/12/2010 16:09

No breast stroke though Rocket - not good for pregnancy.

Right, midwife has just been. BP low enough for homebirth, yay! No protein in urine, yay! She did another stretch and sweep and it didn't hurt cos cervix is much softer. She was up there bloody ages but managed to get right around the baybee's head and is hoping it will kick off for us over the weekend. I bloody hope so. If not, I have consultants appt on Thurs to discuss my dates - if he does not agree with me (that I was not due until 28) then I will not pass go, not collect £200 and will be sent straight to assessment ward for induction. If he does, we can put off the induction for another few days. I really do not want to be induced.

I am still hoping for this weekend... the thought of going another WEEK? No, thank you all the same.

Bee looks lovely Muser, very cute.

Sorry Sprocket that sounded v bossy. You probably knew that already.

OP posts:
Muser · 31/12/2010 16:15

Wonderful news Polly. Fingers crossed you have a baby before the consultant can mention the I word.

It's just the legs bit of breast stroke that are problematic, aren't they? You can do arms with normal kicky legs.

PollyPoo · 31/12/2010 16:20

Fanks Muse. Grin Oh yes, sorry. No frogs legs for preggos... which is a shame as I don't do the kicky legs. Not that I have been near a pool this pregnancy. Blush

MsFC · 31/12/2010 16:21

Oh rocket your party food sounds delish, I'll be round about 7.30, ok? And you get DHB points like gin for being so brave about your gall bladder.

And great news about your HB still being on pol! I didn't have a sweep last time. Do I really want to know what 'getting right round the baby's head' means?? Sounds intrusive...!

PollyPoo · 31/12/2010 16:25

Tis rather intrusive MsFC but I can happily advise if you like? It wasn't actually that bad at all, honest. Grin

OP posts:
PollyPoo · 31/12/2010 16:26

Me want Rocket's party food too, sounds fab. Bit of a way to travel though seeing as I find it hard to get from sofa to bed and back again of late.

OP posts:
MsFC · 31/12/2010 16:28

Just read your post out to the FC pol, he's gone a bit green...!

PollyPoo · 31/12/2010 16:48

Goodness, how will he cope with actual childbirth then?! Will he be staying firmly at the head end?!

OP posts:
Muser · 31/12/2010 16:53

I really hope TBG stays at the head end. I don't think anyone who isn't being paid needs to see what's happening at the business end.

PollyPoo · 31/12/2010 16:56

Good point. TG stayed at the head end too. He said he could see quite enough from there thank you very much! Must be quite disturbing for the blokes really when you think about it. Grin

MsFC · 31/12/2010 16:59

ExH looked over the green screen. Said the view of my intestines outside my body will haunt him forever.

The FC is staying at the head end, no cord cutting for him!

rocketleaf · 31/12/2010 17:14

Acsherley i didn't know that about the frogslegs poo so boss away! (i quite like it Wink) I am a bit rubbish at doing them properly so glad to have an excuse to do kicks.

All sound promising your end (badum tsch) fingers crossed things start happening over the weekend and you avoid induction.

I agree about partners at the head end!

TB has got a bit of a tit on because I have impulsively invited one of his friends that he is finding a bit hard work at the mo, They popped round for a brew this avo as we havent seen them for ages and it wasnt til afterwards that TB said he has been kind of avoiding them :( Oops. Hopefully he won't care by the time he's pissed.

Medee · 31/12/2010 17:15

good news, pols

friend's husband watching OBEM commented with concern about the lack of green screen in a natural birth - friend pointed out that they only use them for Sections, so he was to stay firmly at her head!

Medee · 31/12/2010 17:15

good job I do crawl (badly). I do need to get a swimming costume as I am going to a spa with my mum at the end of Jan.

MsFC · 31/12/2010 17:22

'got a bit of a tit on'. My new favourite phrase!!

rocketleaf · 31/12/2010 18:32

:o mrs I also like 'got a bead on' which means hot/sweaty :o

forgot to say i would LOVE to host an ESHbuffet. We are also having roast chicken, ham, charcuterie (not for me), various dips, snack and olives. Oh french stick and boursin inspired by one of you lot. (lady i think it was?). yummy. Shame you all live so bleeding far away!

prob wont be on later so hope you all have good evenings

Muser · 31/12/2010 18:37

We are having coq au vin with sodabread, followed by toffee apple sponges with custard. Everything but the custard made with our own fair hands. I am in charge of the main course, TBG is doing pud.

PollyPoo · 31/12/2010 18:39

I am vey Envy of all this lovely food. We are having left over risotto. Hmmm.. at least there is no cooking involved.

Wishing you all a very Happy New Year, not sure if I'll be on later - TG wants to do the sechs this evening. I think he wants this baybee out even more than I do!

OP posts:
rocketleaf · 31/12/2010 19:02

good luck with that pol :o are you sure he's not just using it as an excuse? Wink

brief respite before everyone arrives, TB has gone for red booze and to collect one guest. Now i have sat down I just want to go to sleep, I really suspect I will be in bed by 12.15 :o

muse that all sounds lovely. i have made spme and bought some, I do like to make stuff from scratch but this was all so last minute i decided not to put myself under too much pressure. I have realise I have basically put on my fav BBQ menu but with cold meats instead of BBQ (one trick pony)

MsFC · 31/12/2010 19:05

The FC and I are eating M&S party nibbles. I'm shamed now as you are all cooking!

LadyGoneGaga · 31/12/2010 19:08

We had sticky spare ribs with rice and steamed greens. Yum. Now need to cobble together some kind of pudding. But we have nice Rachel's organic yoghurt and a pomegranate so job done I reckon!

Yes, Rocket, t'was me who was Boursin fixated. Mmmm...you've made me think about it again. I'll happily pop round but a bit far I think.

Pol I love risotto, leftover or otherwise. I like making little fried risotto cakes with leftover risotto. They are yum.

Happy New Year to all in case I fall asleep at 9 like normal.

Good luck with the baybee making sechs Pol!
