re hippobirthing, anyone got a recommendations for a reasonably priced cd. my friend is after one and she said the only one she can find if £40 for 4 cds, which includes post natal and pregancy etc. she really just wants the birthing one as she is on a pretty tight budget.

Scorpette · 10/01/2011 21:57

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I don't even particularly fancy being there for the birth myself, never mind a camera crew!

I'm not being pessimistic (well, only for comedic value), is just that I'm realistic that it ain't going to be a barrel of laughs. Will be amazing and rewarding but ouchy.

Muser · 10/01/2011 22:00

This is my one rocket, it might have been the one your friend saw. They don't make it immediate apparent that you can buy them separately: www.natalhypnotherapy.co.uk/11.html

Ginfox · 10/01/2011 22:04

Scorpio you're not pessimistic in believing that it might sting a bit. And in any other circumstances you'd have a glass of something medicinal to take the edges off. But apparently the experts frown at that sort of thing.

rocketleaf · 10/01/2011 22:06

thanks very much muse wonder if I should wait until after you have dropped before I recommend it? oh wait she is due the week before you :o

and the understatement of the year award goes to score and her 'ouchy' birth hehe.

Scorpette · 10/01/2011 22:08

Will I require more than 2 paracetamol, Foxy? Because I can't take ibruprofen...

Muser · 10/01/2011 22:08

It was recommended to me by one of the FESHes if that helps, I can't remember who though.

Scorpette · 10/01/2011 22:10

"NURSE! I've got a booboo!"

rocketleaf · 10/01/2011 22:11

I'm only kidding muse I am have absolute blind faith in the advice of any ESH tbh as its stood me in good stead so far :o

laurielou · 11/01/2011 08:12

Morning ladeez!

Why is a good day always followed by a rubbish one? (OK, I may be being dramatic, seeing as its only 8am).

Yesterday I felt fab, looked good in mew mat clothes, people commented I looked good, on a high from kick etc etc.

Today I wake up with a headache, return of the cold & I vommed my breakfast straight back. My coffee was still warm Sad

So I sat like a floppy ragdoll in passenger seat while Mr Loz drove us to work, sneezing & nibbling feebly on a gingernut biscuit. Gah!

Anyhoo, onwards & upwards. I watched OBEM too. I loved 1 woman's hair colour, then she began to annoy me screaming. I mean, I doubt I'll be whispering "oh my, that smarts a bit" but she must've been exhausting herself & stressing her baybee. Actually I was prolly more annoyed with MW (anyone else see her smirking?) & the husband, neither of whom seemed to be trying to reassure her & calm her down. The other woman just looked thoroughly pissed off. Her fella annoyed me until the end, when I felt sorry for him that she asked for her mum to go into theatre with her, then when he finally held his son he sobbed.

I liked the look of the 2 ladies for next week. Am also thinking I'll go the birth pool route, so shall watch with interest.

Before that I went to yoga. Haven't been for 3 weeks. We got to the lying on tummy part, which I said I'd be fine to do. I was, but I felt like I was lying on a space hopper! Its amaze how much my tummy seems to have grown in 3 weeks (Christmas food may have helped a bit.....)

Right, I'm off to mooch around office in the hope someone makes me go home, so I can put pj's on & go to bed.

laurielou · 11/01/2011 09:25

Rocket so sorry, forgot to congratulate you on a good scan & you pink pwinceth flava. The general consensus for me seems to be boy, so your ickle darling should have a pick of a good bunch.

laurielou · 11/01/2011 09:26

Jebus, new mat clothes. I didn't come to work dressed as a cat Smile

Scorpette · 11/01/2011 11:02

"I didn't come to work dressed as a cat"

I have had 3 hours sleep. I am coping by calling it Training for Motherhood. Bleeurgh

laurielou · 11/01/2011 11:43

Poor Scorps Can you have an afternoon kip & go to cinema a bit later?

I've found the joy of Werther's Original chocs - they help with the sickness. So I'm scoffing them for medicinal purposes.

Has everyone gone on a jolly girls' outing without us?

Muser · 11/01/2011 11:43

Ok, what is with the pukey Branston Hicks? I did not sign up for that. Nobody warned me they might make me puke. I'm glad I know they do though, because it gave me time to get from my desk to the loo. Bleeeeurgh.

Orchid12 · 11/01/2011 12:07

Rocketinmypocket so pleased that the scan went well my luvva, and congrats on the pwincess Smile. Fantabuloso news all round!

Lozza and Scorps boo to feeling naff. I iz having a good day after having had a run of 4 terrible days. Yesterday was back to being sick 3 times which was not much fun at work. Today, however, I am confident is going to be better. I do sympathise, I'm not just being smug! I thought I would never feel human again just a few weeks ago so am just immensely pleased to have some good days now!

Scorps sleep training for motherhood need only start when you have the baby. All this sleep deprivation beforehand is just cruel in my book.

I have just eaten supernoodles for lunch. I am feeling more than a leetle guilty that I seem to only crave fizzy drinks and rubbish food at the moment. I keep promising myself I will eat better soon, but it doesn't seem to be happening Hmm.

In other news we are looking at decorating the hallway and our bedroom soon which is pretty exciting. I think I am a saddo but I quite like the satisfaction that goes with turning a bit of dull space into something more jolly. I've also just sorted out with my lovely mum for her to come and look after mini O when it's my 20 week scan in 4 weeks. Mr O is booking the morning off so we can enjoy it as this will definately be the last scan we have ever! (barring any last minute ones that are deemed necessary). This is our last biological child and Mr O is planning to go and get 'the snip' not long after this one has arrived. We've talked about adopting if we want to add to the family (only one more mind!) which I am quite open to when this one goes to school. The point is, is that I really want to enjoy this scan and not feel that Mr O has to rush off to work the second it's over. Because we have to see the consultant for the scan, and again after it, it's a long appt and I don't want him clockwatching. The good news is that I got a letter on Fri saying if all is well at this scan, then I can get passed over to midwife led care for the remainder of the PG and the birth - hooray! Squidge will just need an ECG after birth and no more Smile.

Orchid12 · 11/01/2011 12:14

Muse I've never heard of BH making you sick - I think you are having a bum deal Sad. Here, have some of Lozzas werther's to make it better.

BTW, I love the fact that you all despise the powder blue/pink/gendered baby clothes out there. I thought I was on my own with this amongst my RL friends, but should have known you guys would feel similar. When O was born I ended up taking so much powder blue stuff back, to replace it with stripes and spots and the like. Now he's older I struggle to find t-shirts etc that don't just have 'boys' stuff on them. I think there is a real gap in the market for nice, affordable childrenswear that is jolly and patterned rather than gendered. Rocket this is your area non? You could make a killing designing this stuff and selling it to us Smile.

rocketleaf · 11/01/2011 13:18

ah sorry to hear the crapness is returned for lozzer and score :( I have been sleeping really well recently and typically now that I have to work today i had a rubbish nights sleep last night, Madam was practicing her trampolining on my bladder at 4 am this morning and then i couldn't get back to sleep. Although this might be due to the massive kip i had in the evening yesterday :o

Great news re getting signed off for MW lead care orcs that is so good! Fingers crossed for the next scan then! And how lovely that you are thinking about adoption, and are both on the same page about it.

I would love to do a funky children wear brand the only problem with it is the 'affordable' part. Unfortunately due to economies of scale and boring stuff like that, its hard to compete with the super markets and big chains, especially if you want to do anything a bit unusual. Not completely out of the question tho, you never know! (and of course I have a ready made focus group and wearer trial set here :o)

owlbooty · 11/01/2011 14:07

Why is everyone puking? I thought you lot were meant to be blooming by now. This is most alarming.

I know someone who had an accidental home sneeze btw, and her exact words were 'it was a little bit ouchy' - Envy

Muser · 11/01/2011 14:09

I bloomed. I'm done now. Don't take me as an example of what pregnancy is like though. I am a bad advert. Drom has bloomed. MrsFC bloomed.

Medee · 11/01/2011 14:25

Rocket great scan news, and about your baby girl.

laurielou · 11/01/2011 15:28

I over-bloomed yesterday & now I'm exhausted Grin

I plan to bloom again from tomorrow.....

Scorpette · 11/01/2011 16:03

I'm feeling pukey too, but I think that's because I've not eaten enough because I keep trying to go back to sleep (I did get a good kip between 12-2). Poor old Muse and Loz, it's ridiculous. Sad BTW, Muse, I thought you looked blooming and gorg in your Xmas pics; you might not feel blooming, but you look it

I have observed one thing about my headaches - when I only get a few hours sleep and then have to have a long nap in the day, my headache is much milder than usual. I have tried to replicate this by napping in the day when I've slept okay, but that just makes the headaches worse! Angry Also, The Lad seems to think he's on a stag do in Ibeefa - sleeping all day then partying all through the night (particular favourite: Club Bladder) Grin

Rocket, we're missing a fab bizniz opportunity - let's set up our own biz selling cool and affordable non-stereotyped kiddy clobber! I'm actually being fairly serious, too - I used to design bags and sell them, so if I wasn't now the world's laziest fucker, I would go for it!

PS I realise that I do reveal a bafflingly array of jobs I have done - I'm just a bit of a directionless Jack-of-all-trades, tis all.

CluckyKate · 11/01/2011 16:21

The blooming stage passed by in the blink of an eye a long time ago!!!

Have had some lovely reflexology today which will be cranking-up over the next 3 weeks. Is a scary thought that in just over a month I will definitely have my baby Confused

CluckyKate · 11/01/2011 16:23

Congrats on the scan news all - footballers & cheerleaders to add to the ESH-team!!!
