Hello, I have finally made it back! Babybird is asleep at last. She is just coming out of her first growth spurt - I spent last night feeding pretty much continually. I was sure she was going to puke it all up again, but thankfully she ingested the whole lot!

It has been a bit of a roller coaster 5 days (can't believe she is only 5 days old.... feels way longer already) with a hellish first night, poor latch on the breast(despite midwives telling me it was fine) bleeding nipples etc etc. Babybird is just gorgeous though Grin

Come here italianomamma for a cwtch. Sorry you've been so stressed and worried and so glad you've had good news!

laurielou · 10/01/2011 16:00

Polly how lovely to hear from you. Bleeding nips & hellish forst night aside you sound like you are living the dream.

laurielou · 10/01/2011 16:00

first night. Nob.

Ivegotmrbitey · 10/01/2011 16:04

Refresh fail Blush, hello polly, sounds blissful!

PollyPoo · 10/01/2011 16:30

Today is definitely a good day, it must be said. Tomorrow will be different again no doubt, but we are getting there. I hated the newborn bit with Boo, probably due to stresses with feeding and switching to FF so early. This time I am determined to savour every moment as I don't think there will be any more bubbas for me. My body just does not seem to like late pregnancy and labour.... I will post birf story in the place. It wasn't horrendous (don't want to you panic) but I think my ancient old body is past it now. I am a bit Sad that I won't get to experience it again but very Very happy with my two gorgeous girls. Grin

Great news, Milano. I think we all have a major ?oh my god, I don?t feel pregnant any more? moment, I know I did and I haven?t had your experience, so can totally understand why you needed that reassurance.

Don ?t get me started on celebrity pregnancies, and they fact they are all back to pre-pregnancy weight in about 5 minutes.

MrM had to help me out of bed the other morning very rapidly (the big support pillow really doesn?t help the stranded sheep / beetle look) when I got a mega-cramp in my calf and had to put weight on it.

Loved it Bitey. It was ace in the cinema and on MrM?s new Blueray player looked really good.

And lovely to see you Polly

Muser · 10/01/2011 16:47

Lovely to see you Polly, glad things are going well.

Ariesgirl · 10/01/2011 17:19

Polleeeeeeeee

"Two gorgeous girls" - how lovely! Glad it's going ok. Mwah!

LadyGoneGaga · 10/01/2011 17:22

Fabe news everything is well, Milano!

Lovely to hear from you, Pol. It sounds like you are loads more relaxed this time and taking everything in your stride which is really reassuring. Have been feeling slightly panicky about HTF you manage with two! But seems like you're doing it all and everyone is happy.

Talking of celebrities, Posh Spice is diffed. Due in "te summer" Joy. I get to be compared to skeletor on bump size.

LadyGoneGaga · 10/01/2011 17:23

And booked a holiday to Greece to mitigate this sodding awful back to work feeling. Not til May but should be just about manageable with a letter.

rocketleaf · 10/01/2011 17:26

ahh great scan news milano so glad your mind has been put to rest, its horrible when you get a thought like that in your head. Hope you continue to feel better!

pol so glad you had a good day today!! sorry you had a bit of a rocky start but sounds like things are settling down pretty quickly, its so lovely to hear from you!!! smooches to littlebird. xx

Lovely kicking news from lozzer & score i am impressed (and a bit jealous) as don't think there's any chance any of mine would be felt on the outside yet as they are right down near my pelvis, seems sprout likes to spend most of her time face down (like her mum!) Yep you guessed it, we are also bucking the flava trend in the leaf household :D Agreed with TB that we are gonna tell close family and friends (and you lot) so even though I know I don't need to say this, no FB mentions pls.

Scan this morning went really well, the lady was lovely explained what she was doing as she went along, got an amazing view of sprouts spine, the rest of it was a bit blurry unless you had what you were seeing pointed out, obviously the satellite anti-natal clinics get the old machinery compared to the hospitals! such a shame we couldn't print any of the ones from the other week. But i don't really care just as long as I know everything is fine. It was all quite emotional!! TB is over the moon, he obviously didn't want to say he had a preference but I have always known he likes girls better than boys Its to do with how he gets on (or doesnt) with his nephews and my nieces really. He was so lovely, said he was daft to only book the morning off as all he wanted to do was spend the day with me, bless him.

Bloody knackered now, shopping defo does not agree with me, i'm off for a lie down with a hottiebottie and to see if I can poke madam into giving an externally felt kick :o

bitey is it wrong to swoon over the boy in Kickass? he was in some rubbish teen flick i ended up watching yesterday, i think he was probably about 16 and bloody gorgeous. it IS wrong isnt it? Blush

rocketleaf · 10/01/2011 17:28

oh i asked TB who Holly Willoughby was and got a blank stare and a shrug, we are hopelessly out of touch but quite proud of it.

PollyPoo · 10/01/2011 17:33

Yay for girls Rocket! fantastic news, I'm so chuffed for you. Grin

OP posts:
rocketleaf · 10/01/2011 17:53

Thanks polly am just releaved everything measured as it should! I am so chuffed for you as well. You sound over the moon! :o (girls rock!)

Ah well at least scorps and I can start planning the wedding, that is until lozzers surprise creates an ESHoffspring lurve triangle :o

rocketleaf · 10/01/2011 17:55

Jesus I have used the phrase over the moon twice in as many posts. I am turning into my mother already!

PollyPoo · 10/01/2011 18:06

Hehe, I am planning to marry off Babybird to MrsFC's gorgeous offspring. She doesn't know it yet though.

OP posts:
milanomum · 10/01/2011 18:25

vegetation that's great news - girls do rock.

polly sounds like domestic bliss!

LGG Don't even start. What is she like? has anyone actually seen her pregnant? How can she even get pregnant, being practically invisible?

Ivegotmrbitey · 10/01/2011 18:34

Lovely girl news lambsleaf and yes is wrong to fancy himself from kickass, specially towards the end when he is a bit grimy and battered looking. < rubs knees and leers like vic reeves>

owlbooty · 10/01/2011 18:49

Rocket that sounds like a lovely, lovely scan.

LadyGGGGGG bollocks to Posh. I stand no chance of being a stick with a bump as I have the shortest body evah anyway so there is nowhere for the bump to actually go except outwards. We shall be hooooge and not give a shit about it, oh yes. Pass the cake. Grin

Muser · 10/01/2011 19:06

Huge congrats on your little girl rocket, how lovely!

Scorpette · 10/01/2011 19:19

Ladies, ladies, please! Form an orderly queue and have your CVs ready. I ain't pimping The Lad to anyone but the very best Grin TYF is tall, foxy, v healthy, clever, funny, hates sport and never has to be nagged to pull his weight, so, combined with my excellent genes as well, The Lad will be a primo catch (although he will probably have crap teeth and rubbish eyesight, I'm afraid).

BTW, if he is gay and Bob is gay, then me and Muse will be planning a civil partnership. Sorry, but no-one else will get a look-in, however much you protest. Wink

Well done on the pink flava, Rocket. Will not say owt over on FB (same goes for me, laydeez - radio silence on blue being the colour for now, cheers). Shame you couldn't get a great piccy, but ours are quite blurry, despite the actual scan images being v clear. It is very emotional, isn't it? You can't imagine how much it finally convinces you that there's a real person in there until you experience it, can you?! Huzzah - time to get shopping!

Polster! Glad to see you in here You sound like you're already in your stride and loving it. Am soooooo happy for you (even if you feel Sad about potentially no more baybees).

BTW, are any other first-timers freaking out over the words 'bleeding nipples'? I am extremely squeamish about anything to do with nips and I can't imagine how nips would bleed, seeing as babies don't have teeth, so feel a bit freaked out now Confused

Aaron Johnson be he from Kickass. He's 20 and shacked up with Sam Taylor-Wood, who is 76 (43), and they've had a baby together, so he clearly appreciates a quality BESH. He makes me look/feel like this...

rocketleaf · 10/01/2011 19:29

Thanks guys :o of course after all that bleating about avoiding genderization the first thing i did was to buy a set of very cute long sleeve tees in the John Lewis sale, one of which is purple and the other pink Blush it does have enormous bright red polkadots on it tho (no fairwy pwincesses) and was a bargain.

booty Posh gets referred to as Skeletor in this house. I really can't forgive her for starting the whole size Zero obsession a few years ago (which of course is entirely her fault and nothing to do with the meedjah at all)

Oh Lady, greece sounds fab! I might be going to the Canaries with my mum and sis in a few weeks, I really hope it comes to fruition. Don't forget to pack the factor 50, differs burn more easily apparently Hmm Not that I think that could be possible for me as skin catches fire at first glimpse of any sun.

Muser · 10/01/2011 19:39

I need some PESHly violence. I am sat here all weepy from looking at Polly's baby pics and thinking in a few weeks I'll have a baby like that. WAAAAH!

Fucking hell I need to get a grip.
