All lovely stuff going on in here.

Poll has been a bit silent - 'tis very exciting! Wishing a quickly expanding elasto - cervix and baybee born in a whoosh of water :)

And I say girl too - as Scorps found out the boy flavour 'twill even up the score on the fred today :) Congrats Scorpina boys rock!

Rocket Don't worry about not telling me t'flava. Although I'd like to see you try to keep it a secret face to face when I come up to stay... ;) :o Just jesting - am happy to know whenever it happens, am just so excited in general about you having a baybee anyway my dahlink :)

Ariesgirl · 04/01/2011 22:14

Little boys are such FUN! (without wishing to sound at all dodgy). He can be taught twenty musical instruments. Congrats, Scorps.

Anyone else remember that day 9 short months ago when Pol asked anxiously if anyone could inspect her chart to see if it was triphasic? I had literally NO idea what she meant. And then she had a very, very faint line....how time flies

Muser · 04/01/2011 22:24

OOooh! So exciting! Go Pols, Go Pols, it's your baby's birthday, get yer groove on.

PollyPoo · 04/01/2011 22:44

Hello all, quick update - contractions coming fairly often (about every 10 mins) but not quite up to strength yet - last one lasted about 50 seconds though so defo getting there - don't think I will be able to sleep through this lot. Although having said that, last contraction was done standing up instead of reclining on sofa, and that was definitely easier. Think I will sit on the ball for a bit - upright seems better and I reckon it is time for tea, tens machine and House. Fucking hell, I'm actually having a baybee. Eeek.

Not sure how much longer I can continue to post updates but I will try - definite advantage of home birth. When I go quiet you know things have really ramped up!

Oh yeah, just so you know, I have cancelled my FB temporarily. Twatty sister has a habit of announcing other peoples good news. I forgot to warn her not to do it to me (she did it to other sis) so thought it easier just to disable it for now.

Thanks for all the good wishes and sneezing vibes. See you on t'other side PESHies!

oh you go lady! You are going to be brilliant - come on ESHes lets sing her a birthing song xxx

Muser · 04/01/2011 22:52

Polly's having a baybeeeee!

rocketleaf · 04/01/2011 22:52

Oh pol! So lovely to get updates! You sound so chilled I really want my homebirth plan back now. I have to sleep now but will check in first thing, Ooh it's like Xmas eve all over again!!! Better actually! Loads and loads of luck for your polite sneeze, hope you have your pile of fluffy towels at the ready!

Ps I say girl weighing 8 lb 1 oz. :o

Scorpette · 04/01/2011 23:26

When The Lad is a bit older, I'm going to send him round as a One-Man Band to yours, Rie, and give you your comeuppance for encouraging 20 instruments! Grin

GO POL! You are so brave and strong and in control (and everything else I won't be!) - I am totally in awe of you :) I was going to msg you on FB, but will do so here now; totally understand about wanting to avoid the accidental blabbermouthing. Tea, Tens and House sounds a great plan. YOU CAN DO IT! (And give baybee a big kiss from Auntie Scorpette if these are the last lost of posts you read before s/he is laid). XXXX

PollyPoo · 04/01/2011 23:48

TENS machime = fab! Midwife on way. Gonna switch off now. Squeeeee!!

OP posts:
Casserole · 04/01/2011 23:54

Glad the TENS is working well Poll. Keep turning up that dial!

PollyPoo · 05/01/2011 01:31

Bolox. Off in ambulance to hossie, BP sky high. :-(

rocketleaf · 05/01/2011 07:01

Oh no pol! Fingers crossed all is now well and you are snuggling your baby this minute,

PerfectDromedary · 05/01/2011 07:32

Feck. Poor Polls. Fingers crossed for good news.

laurielou · 05/01/2011 07:58

Oh Pols hossie wasn't what we ordered.

Hopefully that's all kind of irrelevant now, as I soooooo hope you're just snuggling your new little..........girl? That seems to be the majority opinion here.

You did absolutely BRILLIANTLY last night - you sounded calm (OK, very excited), & as Scorps said strong & brave. I'm truly in awe of you. I thought of you each time I got up for a wee last night. Let me tell you, that was a lot of thinking Smile

Buggar, I'm coming over all un-BESH-like now! Still, I can't be violent to you, so instead I shall lovingly stamp on everyone else's toes, & bring you a cup of tea & some toast whilst you snuggle.

Pliz, Mr Poo - update!

Muser · 05/01/2011 08:06

Morning. I hope Pols is snuggling her baby right now. Huge shame you didn't get your homebirth Pols, but hopefully luffly new baby is making up for that. I am on tenterhooks waiting for an update.

LadyGoneGaga · 05/01/2011 08:14

Rubbish you had to be transferred, Pol but good you're being looked after. Hopefully that baybee is now in your arms.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say boy, 9lb6oz.

Orchid12 · 05/01/2011 08:24

Oh, I logged on expecting to find baybee news Sad So sorry you ended up being transferred Pol but hopefully the rest of it ended up being ok and you are now enjoying lovely newborn snuggles. Can't wait to hear your news when you're back home.

PollyPoo · 05/01/2011 08:45

I'm here! Just settling on ward and having breakfast. Baby girl born 4.26 weighing 7lb 5oz - a whole pound lighter than Boo! She is just bloody amazing - am welling up! She has fed really well and it out for count so I'm gonna try and do the same soon. Hoping to be home later this avo, just waiting for BP to regulate but last Reading was v good.

Labour was... Intense! At 3.30 ish I was 5 cm and I'd had her within the hr. There was no time for anthing other than gas n air. Undercarriage intact tho except for small tear.

Oops think she is hungry again. And when she cries she sounds like a baby bird so her name is quite apt! Luffs u all. X

ginhag · 05/01/2011 08:48

ginhag · 05/01/2011 08:49

PS does she have the name you had been thinking of? The 'small' one? Xxxxxx

Medee · 05/01/2011 08:53

woohoo, hurrah for BabyGirlPoo!

Orchid12 · 05/01/2011 08:59

Yey!!! Congrats to you all Smile So glad you're ok.

Muser · 05/01/2011 08:59

Wonderful! Congratulations Pol. I for one approve of the New Messiah being a girl. Now go sleep.

HalleLouja · 05/01/2011 09:03

I am the friend of Polly's for those of you who remember that came on the thread for a while then I got scared due to spotting that I was going to lose my baby. Anyway now I have reached 16 weeks and am back - if you will have me.

Congrats Pol I have been stalking you and am so pleased for you and your new bundle.

A friend of TH did the ring test where she waved the ring over my belly and hand. Apparently I am going to have another boy and then a girl. Its scientific so must be true!

laurielou · 05/01/2011 09:07

Polly Many congratulations! Here's to a good BP reading & home by this avo.

Wonderful news to start the day.

Much love to the Poo Household, x
